Stopped into the St. Albert Greenhouse the other day on a whim after hitting up 6 greenhouses in…read morethe past 2 weeks. I was pleasantly surprised by quality, value, and variety. They had the best price out of 6 greenhouses and the major ones like HD, Lowe's, Costco, etc. for seed starter packs of 6 annuals - $2.50 for a 6 pack is pretty awesome in this neck of the woods! They had jumbo 6 packs for $4.50 ( $1.50 less than Hole's for example) and I'd say they had even better variety! The staff were friendly and it definitely had a back road country feel. My toddler enjoyed their "barn" cat or rather "greenhouse" cat. There were 5 greenhouses in total - though, the perennial one was lacking - I think Costco had more perennials than this place. None the less, GREAT deals and good varieties! I filled up the back of my vehicle with their selections and I'll be sure to go back again this growing season!

I ordered what appeared to be a beautiful, lush flower arrangement from Lisa's Gifts and Flowers…read morebased on the professional photos and detailed description on their website. The images showed a full, vibrant bouquet with specific flowers, colors, and an elegant presentation that looked perfect. The price was on the higher side, which I expected would reflect premium quality and reliable service. What arrived was a complete letdown. The arrangement was sparse, wilted in places, and used entirely different flowers and fillers than what was advertised. It looked like a last-minute, low-effort substitute thrown together with whatever was on hand. The vase or wrapping was also basic and unimpressive compared to the marketing images. This wasn't a minor variation due to "seasonal availability" - it was fundamentally not the product I paid for. To make matters worse, I received zero notification or contact about the delivery. No phone call, no text, no email alert letting me know it was on the way or had been left at my door. I only discovered the disappointing bouquet hours later. For a service that positions itself as convenient and thoughtful, this complete lack of communication is unacceptable. I understand substitutions sometimes happen in the flower industry, but reputable companies clearly disclose them in advance, offer options, or at minimum reach out to the customer. None of that occurred here. The end result felt careless and disrespectful of my time and money. I would not recommend this service to anyone. Save yourself the frustration and disappointment - look for a florist that actually delivers on their promises and communicates properly. This experience has left me regretting the purchase entirely. Would NOT order again.

I hired Wild Orchid for my wedding after seeing the work they had done for a friend's wedding, and…read moream so glad I did. Their shop is located downtown, with an Impark lot a few doors down, and there is a parkade across the street at Coast Plaza Hotel. I am not particularly a "flower" person - I love the look of a beautiful arrangement, but don't have a favorite flower type or any real knowledge of species of flowers. I went to my first consult armed with pictures of bouquets and arrangements I liked, and Candice was easily able to translate the style I was looking for into flower types that would be in-season for my wedding. All of our bouquets and arrangements came in at or under my projected budget (including a free toss bouquet), so I hired Wild Orchid immediately after our first meeting. Booking appointments at the shop was easy, and our meetings were all quick and pleasant. When I saw the bouquets for my wedding, I was amazed at how beautiful they were. They were exactly what I had hoped, and lasted incredibly long - my bouquet had water tubes in the bottom and stayed fresh for three days after the wedding. They were also able to incorporate my mom's ring into the handle of the bouquet beautifully. The delivery of the flowers at the hotel was perfectly on time, and the centerpiece arrangements that I sent home with friends are still looking great almost a week later. My only stumble with Wild Orchid occurred with the vases for the centerpieces. I had initially thought I would buy my own, but when I wasn't able to find any I liked locally I emailed the store to tell them I would have to add vases to my bill. I got a return email saying that was fine, and they could be ordered at my final consult (a month before the wedding). At my final consult I was told that it was too close to the wedding to order the vases I wanted, and we picked out bowls that were very nice and available on short notice, but not my first choice. When I arrived at the reception I was delighted to see my centerpieces in the vases I had initially said I wanted - it was a wonderful surprise, and I am so thankful to Candice and Wild Orchid for hunting down the vases I wanted close to the wedding. The flower work at Wild Orchid is artistically beautiful and they are professional and pleasant to deal with - highly recommended.

I can get it all right here! This greenhouse is aptly named because it's so BIG! They have SO MANY varieties and colours of flowers, herbs, veggies, shrubs, trees, specialty grasses, hanging baskets, planters, pots, water garden accessories, stone benches, gardening supplies and pretty much anything else you'll need to satisfy your green thumb needs. The hanging baskets are incredibly well done and SO breathtaking that it took me quite a bit of time finding the perfect ones. There were so many beautiful choices and I changed my mind quite a few times, but I finally managed to locate the perfect ones! I was really impressed at the sheer amount of tomato varieties they offered and sad that I had bought a few elsewhere... (I know better now). We have a bunch of landscaping to do soon and we'll be back for bushes and trees to finish it off. I just may come by to hang out and soak in the gardening vibes. I love, love, love it here. I don't even know where to start. These guys are the most unprofessional and unprepared team I have…read moreever worked with. We had an outdoor event and when they came to set up the decor, the wind was a bit higher than normal and was blowing the decor off the tables and blew the canopy to the ground. Totally out of both parties control. My issue lies with them knowing the wind was going to be strong that day as they came three days prior and refused to work with us in finding a solution. They simply said "we don't have anything" . Even that was like okay, a bit annoying but whatever. I tried calling Abe and just asked if there's any way to put weights on the decor and if there's anything else he could do. This guy, on my own reception day yelled at me. Like literally yelled and was swearing. He told me "don't tell me how to do my effin job" etc. At this point I was furious. This is completely not okay, you should not yell or swear at your clients, especially when they pay you 10 grand for what they thought was a "professional" service. These guys are just a bunch of clowns that should not be trusted to host your event. The cherry on top is the fact that he refuses to communicate, address the issue by calling us back, reply to our reviews. His solution is to post fake 5 star reviews on his google page. Honestly do what you want but there are far better decor companies out there that have a better team, better problem management skills and better communication with there clients.
