Terrible experience with this company! Contacted my insurance company to set up a tow. I received a message stating the tow truck will arrive at 11:21pm. I received an alert at at 11:18pm stating tow truck had arrived. I go outside to see if I see the tow truck it is nowhere in sight. I stood outside by my car I happen to look over next door to where I was parked, and the tow truck was in the next parking lot over on the other end from where I was parked. He comes out of the parking lot doing 65-70 mph I'm yelling and waving for him to stop and he keeps going. By this time I'm on the call with Kuffner to let them know what happened. I get some rude dispatch person or manager telling me he tried calling me several times and the driver tried calling me and I kept answering and hanging up. Why would I do that and I need my car to be towed?? Come to find out, they had the wrong phone number. I had to submit another request becuz within 2 minutes they cancelled my tow. I had to wait another hour and a half 2 hours for another tow truck. I didn't get home until after 1am. I will be submitting a formal complaint to the company. I do not appreciate being talked to the way this person talked to me as if this entire situation was my fault. Clearly someone made an error and it was not for him as a professional and rep of the company to behave/communicate in the manner that he did. This person was sooo rude, nasty, and veryyyy unprofessional. On top of that, the alerts I received stated the second tow truck would arrive at 12:28am, but did not arrive until 12:45-12:50am. We used Kufner yesterday to bring our new to us 1955 Packard Patrician home from Youngstown. We were planning on using AAA first because we pay monthly and get tows up to 100mi for free. They left us high and dry and refused to tow it. Since we were driving, a friend called Kufner and explained the situation. Dispatch gave us a quote and said the driver could leave immediately. We gave them the go ahead and driver arrived on time. Driver was awesome and complimented us on the car and got it back home safely. Used Kufner twice in the past two and a half weeks and had good experiences on both occasions. First was a tow of our big 26ft Hino box truck from Ashland to Medina. Dispatcher was awesome and polite. Said he could be to our truck in 45min. Ended up being about an hour and a half but they showed at got the job done. We used them again today to upright a turned over forklift. We called yesterday and asked if they could be here today at 2pm to meet with our Crown Lift Truck guy, no problem. They showed on time (Crown Lift never showed lol). Cowboy got the unit back up on its wheels in less than 5min. Took longer to get the truck set up for the lift. Price wise is to be expected for a larger well known Cleveland tow company. It was however about $500 more to upright the lift which was only 9k pounds than it was to tow a 26ft box truck an hours distance. That's the only gripe I have. Good company and reliable. Kufner Towing took my car out of my own apartment's lot that I pay rent AND have a parking pass for. Then, they charged me for a TWO DAY hold despite my car being in their lot for less than 12 hours. My grand total came out to $203 dollars to get my car back while also being late for work. When picking up my car, I made sure to ask if my parking pass wasn't on the dash where I have left it for the past year that I've been living at my place. I was instantly told "no". Lo and behold, when getting into my car I see that my parking pass had definitely fallen off of the dash during their towing process, which means it was definitely up there (because if it's not up there, it's in a very specific compartment that would be difficult to fall out of). read more

I cannot BELIEVE this place is still in business. ZERO customer service skills. ZERO maturity. These guys (wrongly) towed my car from MY OWN lot (where I pay rent, because my sticker fell off due to the weather going from 32-70 degrees in two days. Instead of acknowledging their mistake and towing my car back free of charge, they are ordering I pay for my car (which I already pay parking for) and when I went to discuss they SLAMMED THE DOOR IN MY FACE. This is not the first time I have heard of this happening and I am very tempted to take legal action because this is absolutely unacceptable. Management can contact me personally to rectify. Grow up. I parked in a parking lot in Lakewood that was separate from where there signs were posted. I walk across the street and the Kufner driver comes speeding up blasting his horn, proceeds to lower his lift about to tow my truck. I run up and apologize. I was stranded on an unplowed road for 8 hours and no one else was open at 3am so I had to call Kufner. They quoted me $125 to tow me 100 yards, and I had no choice but to accept. Their driver spent several minutes insulting me and berating me for my stupidity in getting stuck. Then he extorted more money, informing me it would cost $189 instead of the quoted $125 because of the difficult spot I was in. Of course I had no choice. It then took him all of 6 minutes to tow me out, after which he quickly yanked out the tow mechanism without lowering it enough and did well over $700 worth of damage to my vehicle, including ripping off the heat shield, knocking out the alignment and unbalancing a tire not to mention cracking and ripping off part of my front bumper. They did not take credit cards and the man that was helping me laughed in my face and said "yeah, that's not gonna happen" after I enquired about getting a refund with proof because I was not in the wrong. Just received service thru my insurance for a jump. The tech was an hour nd a half late plus his jumper cables were broken while trying to apply them to the battery. Jerry Bowman of Kufner Towing should not be allowed to drive a vehicle of ANY kind let alone a tow truck! I was leaving work the other day in TERRIBLE conditions during our recent snow storm, although I was accelerating- my tires were spinning in the snow so my car was not moving fast enough for JERRY. After tailgating me across the intersection and honking his horn at me- HE SPED AROUND ME (OVER DOUBLE LINES), CUT ME OFF, & HIT HIS BRAKES (probably almost hitting someone the way he was driving, no doubt). This caused me to brake and slide right into the back of the tow truck. Not only was he unapologetic, he LIED to the law enforcement about how the accident happened and caused a TRULY traumatic experience for me calling me out of my name and refusing to move his vehicle so I could move out of the high traffic area. My Toyota Camry's alternator failed and I had to stop at a McDonald's parking lot before the car died completely. Called Kufner who answered promptly and the very pleasant man said a tow truck would arrive in 15-20 minutes. It was a little longer than that but I was patient. The young man who arrived couldn't have been nicer and agreed that it was the alternator. He had my car on the truck within minutes and took it to my preferred mechanic and dropped off the keys because it was after hours. Later, when I called and asked for a receipt to submit to my insurance company, Adam Kufner quickly emailed the receipt. I couldn't be happier with my experience with Kufner Towing. They came to tow my sons car out of our driveway for repairs. The dealer my son bought the car from sent them to pick up the car and put the key under the seat for the tow guy so we didnt have to be home or be bothered. The tow guy shows up, walks pass my living room window and doubled back and put his hand up over his eyes to get a better view into my house. I wasnt full dressed at all, my dogs ran straight to the window and he started agitating them even more instead of walking away. I put a shirt on real quick went to the side door to ask what he need and now he wants to act like he is scared the dogs r going to get him so he starts pushing me and the door. He asked where the keys in the car I said yes and asked him to stop pushing and he responded FUCK UP and went to his truck. I did call the business who said they appreciated me called to tell how rude he was but I can see they didnt really give a fuck either. Business owners need to be careful who they have working for them he completed violated a couple of laws and I have a camera on my house. Customer Service is key to continuing service. My neighbor said they witnessed all of this happening and said he is canceling all his future services with his company. I started using Kufner Tow back in 2016 for my heavy duty truck needs. I loved that they had state of the art equipment that was properly maintained. Throughout the years, Kufner has sent me nothing but the most professional drivers that are skilled in their services. Fast forward to 2020, I now use them for all of my needs; whether it's a tow for a small car, batteries jumped, or my peterbilt broke down on the side of the road, they're my go to.
