I searched extensively through Yelp and Angi, reaching out to 10-15 companies for tree removal and stump grinding. Some never responded, others replied only once or twice, and several asked for photos and videos but were unwilling to visit my property to assess the scope of work in person. After initially selecting another contractor based on a quote, I informed the other companies that I had made my decision. Chris, however, went above and beyond--he was determined to earn my business and asked if he could stop by at 5:00 PM to provide an in-person estimate and see if he could offer a better proposal. That initiative alone spoke volumes. When Chris arrived, he was professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. He provided a more competitive price, but what truly set him apart was his willingness to take the time to come out, evaluate the project firsthand, and demonstrate genuine interest in earning my business. That level of commitment is rare. Once Chris and Francisco began the work, they were efficient, thorough, and extremely careful to protect my existing plants and landscaping. I greatly appreciated the attention to detail and the care they showed throughout the entire process. The project took approximately two and a quarter days, and remarkably, each evening they left my yard cleaner than when they started--no small feat considering the volume of trees and debris involved. In short, Chris and Francisco delivered the best service experience I have ever had through Yelp. Their professionalism, work ethic, and dedication to quality were exceptional. Master Tree beat all the other quotes (blindly), including the ones from Facebook Marketplace. Esteban showed up the first time to give me the estimate and explained that "a team" would show up, take all the necessary safety precautions, remove it in ONE hour, grind the stump on site (they show up with big, new trucks), and clean up. Well, they did just that PLUS they trimmed other trees for an additional nominal fee, removed other debris I had at no additional fee, and did an amazing job with the cleanup! Their office staff handled the scheduling, emailed me their liability proof of insurance, handled the billing invoice, processed payment and receipt with extreme efficiency! He was the only one who detailed every item involved in the bid, including update of irrigation. I've had issues in the past with bids for other projects that I assumed included the little details but didn't and then I had to pay extra. Michael's bid included every detail in writing that you would assume would be a part of a new lawn job and it was very reasonable. He also showed up on time for the initial appointment! His crew was great! Their work was very detailed and clean. The job was done within three days and all of the work area, including the driveway, was cleaned up. They even noted my falling-apart fence gate so Michael gave me a very reasonable quote and they did a great job fixing it for me. There were a lot of details for after-care and I've texted Michael multiple times to confirm. He texts back quickly and I never get the impression he's annoyed (I've sent a lot of texts!). I almost wish I had more yard renovations so that I could hire him again! I did discuss a whole-yard mulch job and will absolutely hire Michael when I'm ready for that. No more getting multiple bids for future yard renovations. I'll just call Michael.

Also, he was very knowledgeable. He came to do our estimate and we were impressed with his explanation about how he was going to run our water and electrical. No one else who came to give a bid gave a good solution or just didn't know how to do that. So the combination of a good bid and confidence in his knowledge of landscaping made this an easy choice. But best of all, he and his crew delivered on everything that was in the design plus things we decided to add. Now we actually enjoy being in our garden. Thank you!

Although it was not rotten, almost every log was knotty and/or gnarled, and split too thick to use without significant hatchet time. The son showed up as scheduled Tuesday (with a helper), and got right to work.The tree was removed without disturbing any other plants in any way. Per my request, the stump was cut level to serve as a pedestal to accommodate a large clay pot with more succulents. The remains of the tree were loaded on the truck, the roof was swept clean, and all of the debris from the job was cleaned up. Another excellent job by Hardy's Tree Service.
