The service was beyond our expectations, firstly, the price is very reasonable, they left our backyard clean , especially the Pine tree was huge , his Mom was very good in continuing clean up even in the pool area and in our neighbors backyard and pool too that got some of the Palm tree as well . This is the second time we have used Mor Tree Service and we are very happy with the work they have done. The first time we used them was 3 years ago - We called them to remove a tree and grind the stump in our back yard so that we could have work done there. Carlos also gave us an exceptional quote for trimming two large Melaleuca trees in our front yard - which were definitely in need. His team did an exceptional job with those trees. My neighbor had a Eucalyptus stump next to the fence line which had been cut down, and never removed, three times in 50 years. It was almost 8 feet in diameter by then and we could not put a new fence up on that side because the weakened trees which regrew from the stump caused a damaged fence in every wind storm. Carlos gave that neighbor a quote for removing the stump and the neighbor fortunately had the stump removed and we were finally able to put up a new fence. So this year, my Melaleucas were again in need of trimming. They are beautiful but they have grown quite large and the overgrowth had trees twisting on themselves. Two different individuals in two weeks stopped at my door offering to trim my trees for a bargain. Each time I turned them down because these trees have grown to the point that I was worried about the liability of a lone tree trimmer, who was not licensed, and wanted to know my trees would turn out in as good shape as they had been left the last time they were trimmed. (Note - unlike what I read in some reviews here - Mor Tree Service is licensed. I checked that out when I used them 3 years ago and I checked them out this time. The contractors license they gave me is current and active.) I expected the quote from Carlos would be a lot more - the second time around. But we were pleasantly surprised with the reasonableness of the quote he gave us. Fortunately, I found the card Mor Tree Service had left 3 years ago. I called two days ago and Carlos was at our house within 30 minutes to give us an estimate. He and his team showed up the next day (yesterday), and the work was done, wood & debris chipped and removed and all leaves cleaned up in about 2 & one half hours. We are very happy with the job done. Very efficient work and cleanup and they left my yard looking great. He didn't show up as scheduled. Had to text to see what happened. A couple days later his team came to trim the tree while I was at work and left a huge mess. The tree itself looked great but the cleanup and surrounding areas were an absolute mess. I had to call and get him back to clean up. He said clean up cost more but it was quoted in the original price so I insisted he come back to finish. He did the cleanup days later when I was gone again and left stains of some kind of fluid (oil/fuel?) all over the concrete surrounding the area of where he had been working. I called him over to see and he denied it and said if it was his mess it should be blue. Thankfully the final result looked good (minus the aforementioned concrete stains of course) but the overall experience dealing with the poor communication, 2 trips to finish, and denial of stains left behind left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

During the sales process, he confirmed that he had the appropriate contractor's license for the work but it turned to be one of his first lies. The quality of work was horrible. At this point, we decided to fire them and continue the work with another contractor.Carlos took shortcuts throughout the project. Unfortunately, Carlos show the other side of his personality after a disagreement on costs.It ignited his gangsta way to do business.Instead of proceeding immediately to small claim court, Carlos called some of his buddies and they show up in our property for a display of intimidation and harassment. SDPD was called in two different occasions due to trespassing and harassment; consequently we had to file for a restraining order against Carlos A. and his associate/employee Claudia. For some time now, Carlos and Mor has been my go-to tree company. I have six Phoenix Canariensis trees that I need to trim annually, and I wouldn't like to trust the job to anyone else. These are the big pineapple palms, also known as canary island date palms. I also have thirteen big Washingtonias that I need to trim annually. That's the Mexican Fan Palm, like we have out here along East Palomar in Chula Vista. So I have enough work to really put a tree service company through their paces. Carlos is always polite and professional, and he knows trees. He stays abreast of what's happening with palm trees in the Chula Vista area, and keeps me informed. For instance, this visit, he let me know that right now there's a South American Palm weevil problem in the Chula Vista area affecting palm trees. (I had no idea!) He showed me a couple of news videos about the problem to help me understand what the problem is, how to spot it, and how to prevent and treat it. I did know that fusarium wilt has been attacking the phoenix canariensis out here for some time. So I really appreciate the confidence Carlos instills in me that he is doing all he can to prevent infection in my trees. Carlos and his team sterilize their tools, and even buy new chainsaw blades for each job. On this visit, as usual, Carlos gave me a written estimate for the job, and did the work the next day. He threw in a few extras to make my place look its best. He has a very professional crew. The crew are trained, cohesive, professional employees. They are NOT just casual day workers found along the street on the way to the job. Carlos returned a couple of days after the job to do a little extra work, and (bless him) even cleaned up a newly fallen rat's nest from one of the trees he had trimmed earlier. You may have to work with his schedule a bit, since he is a contractor, always out taking bids and juggling jobs. But if you want a knowledgeable tree guy, with the best service, at the best price, I think Carlos is your guy. read more

I contacted Carlos this morning and he came out and gave me a quote to remove 4 palm trees. I told him I would like to get it done and his crew was finishing up at another location but he told me he would be back with them in about an hour and they could remove the trees. It was maybe an hour and they showed up. I want to say within an hour all 4 palm trees were removed and the stumps were ground down. I cannot in good conscious refer this company to anyone. While Carlos was willing to resolve some stains that were apparent after they cut down my palm trees that appeared on my paving, the mother came by and pretty much denied that the stains were caused by her team. She also disrespected my wife and would not listen to another version. Here are the facts, the stains were not there before the work, the stains appeared after the work. Nonetheless, they did not take responsibility for the stains. I would highly recommend that you take pictures before any work is started in case damage occurs and you can have undisputed evidence of the before condition. BTW: There is a similar review from someone else for stain issues from a review on 6/24/18. I wish I would have read that before hiring this company. Buyer Beware! read more
