It's been a few years since I've left a review and I recently returned for a pedicure. This is the original K.T. Nails beside Sherman Williams on Crawfordsville Road across the street from Thorntons (not by Starbucks). The salon has all new nail techs since I was last here which as I said has been a year or more. Most of their business is walk-ins but they will occasionally take appointments unless they are super busy. I try to go when they first open or in the afternoon after the initial rush. They have a wide selection of colors from regular to gel colors. The polished nail samples are the easiest way to select a color versa scanning the walls of color. I haven't had a lot of luck with anything but the basic nail design. I still take in pictures hoping they can do but they usually say no. The furniture has been replaced since I was in last and the new pedicure chairs are very comfortable with small trays on both sides for your purse and drink. The salon was clean and well organized when I was there. The gentleman who did my pedicure was nice and made some small chit-chat but mostly just quiet while he worked. It was a quite morning with little conversation between the techs or clients and soft music playing which made it very relaxing. The last time I was in a guest sitting next to me was talking loudly (arguing) on her phone my entire visit which made it hard to just enjoy my pedicure. They have 3 different pedicure packages (basic to advanced) to select from and you're shown a card with services for each and prices. No sales pressure, you just pick. The prices are reasonable and the spa packages are nice with the various salts. The Nail Tech did a great job on my feet, the polish was spot on and the leg massages were so relaxing. My feet looked and felt wonderful when he was through. I'll be returning again in the next few weeks and hope to get the same person for my next pedicure. I had my first set of nails put on June 17, 2024 by a young lady that sits in front and she tries to dress up. June 27, 2024, I had three of the nails pop off. I went back and the older lady (who also sits upfront on the right hand side) put an another NEW set of nails on. On July 8, 2024, I went back in with two nails that had popped off. She did another fill. On July 10, 2024 I lost one nail and on July 11, 2024, I lost another nail. I just glued them back on at home. I simply can't afford to keep going back! If anyone has any suggestions on a good location to go in the Speedway area, please let me know! I'm going to KT Nails 2 next! I have spent a shit load of money! With the first set of nails I tipped over 20%. With the second set of nails over tipped because I thought the older lady would do a better job. NOT SO MUCH! My nails are really, really thick! When the younger lady put the nails on the first time... She glued a few of them like you're supposed to, and glued the rest of them by putting the nail down and putting the glue on top of the nail and my nail! I'm so frustrated! I totally thought I had found my nail salon! I work hard for my money and it totally upsets me when people take advantage of customers and don't do a good job!!! I went back the next day to get my pedicure fixed the lady in the front was very rude. and did not respond back to me only spoke in her native language to the man that did my toes yesterday. they had an exchange and then he told me to pick a chair. He than sat for a few more minutes huffing and puffing like I was an inconvenience and then yelled at me from across the salon to take my shoes off and he wasn't even near me nor had he even put a towel on the pedicure chair. then he blamed me for his mistake and the polish peeling in less than 24hrs. he did not speak at all only forcefully turned my foot how he wanted it to be. this is by far the worst experience I have ever had here. if it wasn't for the correction needed I would not have returned. When I first arrived - their were two techs working on two clients so I waited about 30 mins. The young lady who did my nails was quiet but polite when she did speak, - I tend to have an pod in one ear, so I was not bothered by it. She did ask me, although out the process. She worked on my nails for about an hour. I like them, they're decent - I'll most likely come back during times I'm in the area, I was literally driving through and stopped by! Mai the tech was so very kind in the conversation was great we laughed and smiled and the work was exceptional I love the shape she took her time she took care of my cuticles cut them. Overall the shop was clean and the women seemed to be nice. This was my first time at this establishment and I'm disappointed. In need of a new nail shop I was upset. Just by the guy who did my nails. First of all you just got to work but walked outside to smoke a cig. Then you come in and tell me to come to your chair. The ENTIRE Time he was on face time with a young lady. Wasn't friendly. Was very rough. Then every little thing he did he was telling me the price. After five or so minutes, I asked her was there anyone to do my nails, she said she didn't know when somebody else was coming in so she didn't know how long it would be. OK... BIG MISTAKE I went here because it was on my way to my boyfriend's house. Hahaha, I think I have found the worst salon in Indy. Let me break it down: 1. Color selection is terrible. Literally terrible. If you go for acrylic, they will pester you into getting gel. This women would legit not let me get acrylic. I said "no" about five times but gave in because I don't have time to argue with childish techs. 2. Techs are not only pushy but rude. I came in for a new set as it had been over a month. My nails were literally coming OFF. Yet, one of the techs pulled me aside and told me "your nails are fine. I know. I just replace the nails that popped off." Not only this but a girl came in asking for a mani almost TWO hours before close. They wouldn't take her because they didn't have "time." They even kicked out another client. I kid you not. 3. Completely unprofessional. I had dark nail polish going in and instead of taking it off with nail polish remover like a NORMAL person she decided to buff it out multiple times with those tools they have. She then started to trash talk the usual salon I go to saying they didn't know what they were doing. I was livid because my usual salon is always good to me. I'll fight you woman. And like others have said, they hardly talk to you (apparently only the basics and trash talk), talk only in Vietnamese to each other, and even stop to take personal calls. Took my daughter here for a daddy daughter spa type day, I would definitely recommend finding somewhere else to visit. We both went in for a mani/pedi, and my daughter, of course, took longer than I did. Now, they made toy sign in for your services on a sign in book, and the lady who checked me out did my entire service, both Mani and Pedi. I stated that I would pay for OUR SERVICES when she completed my services. Come to find out when my daughter was done that they o ly charged me for 1 service and expected me to use my card for an additional payment. This IMMEDIATELY sounded wrong, and I was then told that some of their English isn't as good as others. I then informed this individual that that's a personal issue and the person with a lack of English comprehension probably shouldn't be the person handling the cash register. I REPEATEDLY stated that when I said I was ready to pay for our services they should have charged me FOR ALL SERVICES at that time!! I took my receipt and left, vowing that my daughter and I WOULD NEVER return to this location! We signed in for MANI/PEDI, and if you don't charge for those services when the bill is requested, that's on you! 4/30/22 Unfriendly greeting, place filled with that nail smell and overly hot, wasn't allowed to soak my feet and relax for any length of time, the young girl got to work right away. Then all the techs doing pedis decided to yak and cackle like they were at a party. Forget relaxing! Pedi was ok, but I had to work on some rough areas when I got home. Just stopped in on the spur of the moment for a pedicure since the weather is warming up! Quiet place to come and not a lot of traffic as their other location. They aren't playing any music or videos. Very quiet. Glad my toes look pretty. It's nice to get pampered. read more

Do not! I repeat do not come to this place! Save your money! I was very skeptical after reading the reviews so I went ahead and gave them a chance. Terrible mistake. I go in for a fill in they give me dip gel nails. The next day my nails immediately started to crack and break off. It was terrible. I go back for them to "temporarily" fix them. Didn't work. I went back to them 3 days straight for the third day I tell them to just take the nails off and paint my regular nails. This is a disgrace. They definitely need to stop rushing and take their time. I will never go there again, the absolute worst place I've ever been! The nail techs were very rude. The man I had kept getting phone calls and actually started to face time while doing my nails. While he was gluing my tips on the women he had finished before me came up and told him that he didnt fill her nails in enough and they argued right over top of me until he decided to fix it (with a crappy attitude!) He actually made me get out of my seat so she could sit down and fix her nails. That is absolutely ridiculous!!! My nails look like crap and are uneven! They are extremely thick coated too! I asked him if he had other glitter polishes and he just said no and ignored me. When I obviously saw more glitter polish. Their selection was awful. My friend had also come with me to get a full set. Her tech didnt even ask her what she wanted and just started cutting her nails! So she had to get square tips instead of the pointed ones she wanted. The tech also kept upcharging her every 5 minutes. Told her one price and then it was more when it was time to pay. I am shocked at all of the bad reviews that I see for my regular nail salon! Yes, the wait can be long at times, and yes the staff does speak to each other in their language, but I haven't been to a nail place where this doesn't happen. If you're looking for a relaxing, spa-like atmosphere, this is not the place, but the staff has always be kind to me and my children. They do not overcharge me and the prices are clearly posted, so if you paid more than you should have, that is your own fault! I have been here twice. The first time was okay... I got there and wasn't much of a line. I was looking at the colors trying to pick one and the nail tech came up on me, rushing me to pick one. Lord if I could give them negative stars I would. I get overlays on my real nails and never had a problem until I went to their shop this past Sunday. The hours were wrong. I called and they said they were open showed up and the sign was lit up and they were chilling with the door open and said they were closed. NO biggie. As I stood and waited to be greeted I noticed everyone mood change because I was coming in for service. I was asked what I needed and responded I would like a pedicure please, one guy spoke in a different language and was going back and fourth with another employee until the one guy said to me will you come back tomorrow because no one wants to service you now! I have such a love hate with KT. They always do a good job and Vicky is my favorite nail tech and is always great. My only issue is some of the other staff, they can be extremely rude and at times aggressive. The prices are okay, but sometimes they will add on additional prices for pretty much nothing or something not worth what they want you to pay. Overall I would recommend but request Vicky as your tech if you go. read more

I have been to this location twice. The first was for a pedicure and I did not have to wait and they did a decent job. The second time I came for a manicure and she cut my cuticles too short and one finger was bleeding a lot. It took a long time for them to find the medication to put on, and they could not tell me what was in the medication. During both visits they were very busy and there were tons of side conversations that are not in English. This as a customer makes you feel like they are not interested in you or that they may be discussing the customers. I understand having some conversation, but this was a lot. I do think if you are a regular they seemed to pay more attention to you. I can agree that it might be hit or miss. read more

This was literally the trashiest nail salon I have ever attended! Super rude to customers and OVER PRICED!!! The owner told me to get long gel nails (one solid color as it comes with) I would have to pay 70$ although the full set starts at 40$!! So an additional 30$ just to go long. I am willing to pay for quality work but the work was beneath mediocre. I went in tonight waited 3 1/2 hrs just for one pedicure that had to be repainted. While waiting 3 woman came in for corrections because there nails were wrong. I went to KT Nails after I moved 25 away from my usual salon. I did a quick google search and KT Nails came up. After debating whether to go to a new place, I decided, "It's a manicure. What could possibly go wrong?" That was a mistake. I showed up with a picture of the color and nail shape/length I wanted (I find this helpful). The gentleman asked if I was okay adding some length. I told him no problem as long as it wasn't acrylic (I'm a nurse and that's a no-no). He said that he would be doing a gel tip process, so I agreed. As he was doing my nails, I kept chatting to him about how excited I was to try out this dark navy color I had found and how important a workable length was with me being a nurse. He grew very frustrated when I repeatedly asked him to file the nails down further due to their length being FAR too long to be functional. Finally, after about an hour, I asked when we would be painting them. He replied, "We're not painting them, this is a french manicure." When I told him that a french manicure is FAR from what I asked for, he replied that the "french manicure was very beautiful and we would paint next time." In shock, I paid for the manicure (which involved him removing my credit card from my wallet because my nails were too horrid to be able to do that myself) and went to my car nearly in tears. I drove down the road to another salon to ask them to do damage control and in talking with the nail tech, she said that multiple times a week they have people come down from KT nails seeking damage control. She GUESSED that the salon was empty when i was getting my nails done, explaining that people have complained that the folks at KT Nails give them a random expensive treatment when the salon is empty instead of what the customer is asking for in order to make money. It's funny how my "beautiful french manicure" cost me $38 instead of the $25 shellac, huh? Needless to say, I will NEVER EVER EVER go back there and will forbid my friends from going there either.
