I called after realizing I wanted to add a pedicure. They asked me to come in early at 10am and I agreed. I got my pedicure done and issues didn't start until the nail tech couldn't paint a tiny red heart on my big toe after 3 attempts . I said, no worries, I'll go without. I was ok with just the plain polish on just my toes. I got finished at 11:18am and noticed Tommy was having someone else sit in his chair. Confused I spoke up and showed my confirmation. She said oh must've been some mix up or confusion. After 15 minutes of waiting she offered me the man that couldn't paint a heart of my feet to then do my nails, I quickly said no, he can't do the style I want. She said don't worry, I will step in when it's time. Because it was getting late, I agreed. After about 6 minutes I said, you are aware I'm getting gel extensions right? The lady then informed me didn't know how. So I had to sit about 15 minutes. A nice older lady tried to help but she struggled. I have large bubbles under majority of my nails and they're sore. Because of this, the polish is blotchy. The lady who was rude from the beginning stepped in when it was time for the design and she couldn't do a simple heart either. So I said never mind, it's ok. I'll go without. I was then told I was being difficult which confused me because I'm a paying customer. I asked for her to do one final wipe down on my nails before a lot of lent from their towels was stuck to it. She quickly said no, you get what you asked for. I said hey, I love this place, I'm not trying to be rude. I just want them wiped down. So she finished up. Before I left I turned around and said. All of this could've been avoided if Tommy was doing my nails like I requested online. Tommy then waved at me and I left. I hate this because he really is the best. Whoever the young lady is running the schedule is quite rude. I don't know if I'm going to return.

I ended up going with Mud Oak which was a stunning dark brown/purple that I kept getting compliments on. Jade did a great job of letting me know what to expect each step of the way. She made sure I was happy with the length and color too and gave me the option to change anything I was not happy with. Very relaxing atmosphere, not too loud but there was good music playing. I liked that there was an option that asked you if you wanted a quiet non-talking appointment. It is nice to have a go to place to get my nails done for special occasions! I think I'll stick with regular Gel going forward since it was a bit harder to type with the Gel X extensions, but Gel X is great for when one of your nails breaks and is far shorter than the rest.

My friend and I enjoyed a lovely Sunday at the Conrad Spa. This spa is really the only full…read moreservice spa in town, meaning there is a pool, hot tub, sauna, and steam room, along with showers and all of the appropriate toiletries. We were prompted greeted by Tina and shown around the spa and to our lockers. In the ladies locker room area, there are showers, a sauna, and a steam room. We got there early so we could enjoy the pool and other amenities. Unfortunately, when we arrived there were hotel guests in the pool, including children. That's not all that conducive to relaxing unfortunately so we didn't get in the water at all. Tina also helped us order a lovely lunch from Capitol Grill and took overall very good care of us while we relaxed and waited for our spa appointments. The services: Both of us had nice services but honestly both felt we had had better for various reasons. My esthetician was good and did a very nice job but I had added on a leg scrub. The leg scrub was great but it came At the sacrifice of the hand and wrist massage you might typically get. My friend's service was good but was slow to start and the provider had some clumsiness issues and dropped items on the floor creating loud noises. The only thing that was really "bad" was the temperature of the atrium area/pool and hot tub area. It was HOT in there. It was so warm in there that we just couldn't force ourselves in the hot tub or the sauna/steam room. Tips: 1. there is street parking, which is free on Sundays 2. When you walk in, go closer to the check in desk to the second set of elevators and the spa is on the 6th floor 3. There is cold water and some cold towels in the Gym on the same floor.

Big place, with lots of stations and lots of professionals. Clean, light and airy. The massage chair pedicure stations faced a large flatscreen tv showing the Olympic Games. Nice! Tim didn't give me much time to soak, but was very careful not to cut my nails too short, and not to file them too much in the corners. My podiatrist would approve. Didn't take off enough callus on the ends of my pinkie toes, but that's a hard area to reach. Massage of the feet and calves with lotion was relatively brief, but used a nice lotion that didn't reek of artificial scent, like the last place. Did a beautiful job painting my nails. Fast, efficient, professional, and no pain. I was happy. Afterward, relaxed by the good experience, I asked about a manicure, and ended up seeing Tim's colleague Linh, who was awesome. She told me about gel builder, to armor my weak and brittle nails without damaging them, and I signed up. We left my short nails the color the gel builder comes in -- a nice, natural pink. Maybe now I'll actually be able to grow them out past my fingertips, without them snagging and tearing! I love how strong and smooth they are now, which is helpful in making jewelry!
