I'm not one to post on fb often but I feel this needs to be addressed. **Thorndale Animal Hospital** I am writing this message in utter devastation and fury over how my desperate call for help was treated on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 4:43 PM. Our beloved dog, Chubbs, was suffering through a terrifying seizure episode, and I felt utterly helpless as I reached out to your clinic for assistance. During my call, I was pleading for immediate help, clearly expressing the urgency of the situation. I could hear my dog in distress and asked if you could hear her too. I was assured that you could. Yet, when the receptionist returned after putting me on hold, I was met with an infuriatingly cold response: I was told to monitor her and take her to an emergency room if the seizures continued. When I begged to bring Chubbs in for immediate care, I was told that I couldn't come because your clinic would be closing at 5 PM. In that moment, my heart shattered, and rage consumed me. I was sobbing uncontrollably, struggling to understand how your clinic's closing time could possibly outweigh the urgency of my suffering dog. I could have made it there by 4:50 at the latest, yet my desperate pleas were treated as if they were nothing but an inconvenience. **my call with your clinic** Me sobbing and begging "please please let me bring Chubbs in. I don't know what to do for her and I have two young kids here. Your clinic "if she continues to seize being her to the ER (Blue Pearl in Malvern) Me "please! You are only 3 minutes away from me! Malvern is a good 20-30 minutes and it's rush hour now! I just need her to feel calmer for the ride. Please help me" Your clinic "you can't, sorry, we closing soon" Then I hung up on her. After that heart-wrenching call, we had to wait for Chubbs to calm down enough to get her into the car. Tragically, she suffered three more seizures during the ride--two in the carrier and one just as we were entering the emergency room. The sight of our precious baby being rushed away by the emergency staff, with them frantically shouting for medications and treatment permissions, will haunt me forever. I understand the severity of cluster seizures; I know that what Chubbs was experiencing was critical and there's not much your clinic could have done to prevent the outcome of her passing. But I firmly believe that her suffering could have been alleviated had we been allowed to come to your clinic, even for a moment of care. So you can give her some thing to calm her down, enough for the ride to the BluePearl ER. Instead, the last hours of her life were filled with anguish and terror--not just for her, but for my entire family, including my two young children, who were left helpless and confused. I tried to explain to you that we will be at least 30 mins away and it's also rush hour.... I am not upset because the vet couldn't save her; I am furious that we were denied even a chance to help Chubbs find some comfort. I am convinced that if the vet had allowed us to come in, those additional seizures in the car could have been prevented. The cold indifference shown during such a critical moment is absolutely unacceptable. It felt as if your clinic's schedule, you clocking out on time, you making it for what ever dinner or after work plans were prioritized over the life of a suffering animal, and that thought infuriates me even more. I urge you to reflect deeply on how your policies impact those in desperate situations. No pet owner should ever have to endure the agony of being turned away when their beloved animal is in such distress.

I brought my 10 year old cat here because I discovered a large tumor on her underbelly. They…read moresuggested surgery but they said she would need further surgeries and will eventually die if the mass is cancer. They said the surgery if anything would help keep her comfortable for the next few months or so until she passed. Not once did they tell me SHE MIGHT NOT MAKE IT THROUGH THE SURGERY! I agreed to the surgery, it's cost was $4,571.42. After the surgery I took her home, she was still groggy when I got her settled, she ate, but she seemed very uncomfortable. I gave her the prescribed pain medicine as directed by staff member, no Vet greeted me to discuss her post surgery needs. The next day she was still not coming around I thought it was the pain and I gave her more medicine. Long story short, I took her back the next day. They didn't have a clue what was wrong but suggested to put her on fluids, and do blood tests, but that would be another charge! I told them I had no more to give. They said they would only charge me for the blood tests. They make you pay first!. I picked her up and the Head Vet/Owner looked me right in the eye and said, "Leah is going to make it, but you have to follow the plan". Since they are a Hospital, but have no overnight care, they sent me home with her and told me to keep her warm. Then the Head Vet/Owner said," If she makes it through the night then bring her back tomorrow at no charge, and we will put her back on fluids." I said," you just said she was going to make it" she said," Your cat is 10 years old with potential cancer, she is having a coming out of the anesthesia. We are sending you home with a warming pad," When I went to the front desk, a nasty vet tech told me they decided not to send me home with a warming pad, just to use my space heater. I figured they knew she wouldn't make it! I took my baby girl home that night and kept her warm. Leah died that night. I brought her back as scheduled the next day. They said it would be another $296.00 for cremation. Not the Vet or the Head Vet offered any condolences to me. The office manager offered me condolences with a hug. Later that day they called me and and said the cost of Leah's cremation was comped. I figured because they knew they shouldn't have operated on a 10 year old cat with a gigantic tumor!! That Monday I got a call from the Vet, but not the Head Vet/Owner, or the Surgeon, she offered her condolences. I asked why they didn't know she wouldn't make it? She said she only does minor surgeries. Not once did the "Surgeon" that operated on Leah say she there was a chance she wouldn't make it through the surgery!!! Don't let these people touch your Older cat, dog or animal. They are incompetent and they don't care. If you say you are a hospital, then why don't you have overnight care!!! Don't let them operate on your pets!! Give me my Money back!!!! Rest In Peace Leah, I am broken hearted.

We spent the next three months doing rehab at home with Dr. Kelly, and soon enough, Colby was as good as new. Unfortunately, a few months later, we discovered he had two ruptured discs and needed immediate surgery. The surgery did not go as planned, and Colby lost the use of his front legs. Miraculously, Dr. Kelly worked with us to beat the odds and enabled Colby not only to walk again without restrictions but also to become stronger than ever. Dr. Kelly's holistic approach ensures your pet is getting everything they need to thrive. She uses cutting-edge methods and is always researching the latest advancements to benefit animals. We continued to work with Dr. Kelly in person until she moved. We then transitioned to virtual sessions, which were also incredibly beneficial for Colby and us. Dr. Kelly was excellent at showing us how to do the exercises so that we could continue them with Colby between sessions. It is worth also noting that right a few months before Dr Kelly moved, our dog went blind. Of course that didn't stop her or our dog (who was very treat motivated) from doing their sessions. Sadly, Colby passed away a few weeks ago, but the last two years of his life would not have been the same without Dr. Kelly's support and guidance. Thank you, Dr. Kelly and your team! Our elderly dog suffers from chronic pain resulting from a past injury. Dr. Roesener spent a lot of time carefully evaluated our dog during a recent flair and came up with a treatment plan that alleviated the dog's pain and increased his mobility. Not to mention, our dog is acting like his happy old self again. So grateful to have such a wonderful vet in our community!
