I boarded a reactive dog there and was explicit that he could not be with other dogs. Within the first two days, the owner, Drew, ignored this - not even a staff member, the owner! - and brought his dog into the same play space with the dog I boarded. He thought this would be ok bcse the dog I boarded was male and the owners was female and everyone knows that male and female dogs always get a long. What a reckless, terrible place. He did this not once, but twice. I wasn't notified until the second time and my dog was injured!!!! I got him out of there as fast as possible. Not only was my dog not safe there, but I also did not feel safe. The owner was aggressive, unapologetic, and increasing the creep factor one of the staff that I interacted with asked a lot of questions about the dog that I boarded and shared that he breeds pitbulls. What reputable dog care facility employs someone that breeds pitbulls in a state overrun by pitbulls being killed everyday. This is not a reputable boarding or care facility. I did not even bother trying to get reimbursed for my dog's vet bills. I was happy to have Animal Resorts in the rear view and all things considered, my dog was safe in my care. However, I was very sorry to hear that within 6 months another dog had died while in their care. This review is long overdue, but I have learned my lesson recently about not posting a review when it can help others. I hope all stay well away from Animal Resorts.

While we have our favorites among them, I never think twice about putting my pets in the excellent care of any of the doctors. They've treated our 3 dogs and 3 cats for everything from wellness checks to issues with bones, teeth, skin, soft tissue and injuries and even tumors. They are even willing to treat our cat from hell! Most recently, what was seemingly a small issue with my service dog turned out to be a potentially life-threatening problem which would have never been uncovered and treated were it not for Dr Harclerode's tenacity and diagnostic prowess. The noise level was extremely loud and that made choice seating extremely limited. But they did a stellar job of seating us as best they could and it was appreciated. The food on the other hand was disappointing. I asked if the fried oysters were pan fried or beaded. By sight one could see they were not pan fried. In fact we sent them back twice only to learn that they were breaded and gave the appearance of a rather large portion of fried chicken. As the crowd got even larger we had them boxed and left. The oysters were at best marginal and the breading was overpowering. Having eaten there several times over the years and never disappointed. Just chalked up to a beautiful weather evening a good bunch of musicians and close to school end.

Rebekah cares so much for animals. We had her twice per day for 3 weeks on a winter vacation, and once per day for 3.5 weeks on a summer vacation. She sent tons of great pictures and a write up for every single visit. We have a unique situation domesticating a feral cat family, and Rebekah was unhesitant to help! She was very patient and kind with our timid kitties, and very friendly with our outgoing one. We have her booked again for a future trip, and hope to try her overnight visits for the trip after that. This recent trip, we had to shorten our stay by a week prior to leaving, and then last-minute extend by a day due to an emergency, and Rebekah did not miss a beat, handling everything including mail pick up when our hold was delivered due to our late return. She has been very flexible with our input and feedback about animal needs, changed litter more frequently than we do, left our home better than she found it, and most importantly, kept our pets happy and safe! She is a definite cat whisperer and she has a lot of wisdom to impart about animals. 5 stars, very professional, had our back at every turn!

You'd hope for those things as a given but prior dog trainers we've had have been in it for the wrong reasons, and not real animal advocates or animal lovers. Ryan trains and competes his own dogs, who are rescues, so he not only understands the bonding process of training and adoption, he lives it. We did two 5-session packages, meaning one for each dog. Ryan scheduled us conveniently for our day, and gave a full hour to each dog every time! Honestly, we and our dogs were exhausted from all the hard work! It was well worth it. Our rescues came to us at age 3, with bad habits and no training since birth! We adopted them with a tetrad of dog-abandoning behaviors: counter surfing, litter box raiding, cat chasing, and leash reactivity! Ryan didn't bat an eyelash. He had a plan and effective steps that he clearly laid out for us, AND helped with every step of the way. Ryan is super generous with his texting support between sessions, and will carefully and thoroughly explain the psychology and contemporary training philosophies behind his methods. We not only learned what to do, but WHY to do it, how it affected our dogs, and how to adapt our thinking to anticipate their behavior before it happened and be a step ahead, ready with training exercises to support them. It worked! Ryan helped us a ton, and our dogs LOVE him! He was their advocate and their voice when we got frustrated. Each of our four life-affecting issues were addressed and broken down for us by Ryan, both verbally, and in training exercises. Ryan will ask a ton of questions to really get to the roots of behaviors. He encouraged us to think about things differently, and taught us skills we can use and re-use when training may wane, to reinforce the dogs' good work, or which we can apply to new behaviors we want to condition. Last year Duffy got kennel cough from the site and it cost me over $100 to get her medication. The entire kennel was infected and I did ask if there would be some compensation, even a free day for our inconvenience but I was told there was nothing corporate was willing to do. Hearing about how the animals that need certain supplies, foods, treatment makes sense--every animal is different. However from what I've heard the staff hardly have any supplies to properly care for these animals, and when they don't they have to resort to different methods or tools that don't work. It's not just the poor babies--animals--that get mistreated. The workers get mistreated too. I've heard that so many of the workers have respiratory conditions due to the state of the facility and the lack for masks, gloves, and other protective equipment. For example, my friend who told me about all this complains about having constant shortness of breath due to the shedding of hair going into their respiratory system--and they don't have the equipment to properly protect themselves. I would NOT recommend bringing your baby here because they do not deserve to be mistreated! Also...maggots, urine, fecal matter...have been found on dogs. Some workers don't even clean this up...
