I bought my first Rottie here back in the 80s, and I've brought friends and family here to get their Rotties and Dobermans, when they were ready. I just bought my second Rottie here on February 11, 2015. I saw 5 beautiful Rottweiler pups on their website, and when I got to Kimbertal, my heart raced when I saw the cutest and sweetest 12 week old female. I just had to get her for my 13 year old son! She was a standard size pup, and awful cute. They had bigger ones, and some super-sized ones, as well. They also had Dobie pups at various stages of puppyhood. Every one from a champion bloodline, every one a complete sweetheart. Take note, their pups sell out quickly. Kimbertal is known for breeding healthy pups, and this girl had a great appetite, normal thirst, and a wet nose. They gave me some free puppy food, plenty of written instructions about feeding, health, and training. They answered all of our questions too. After picking our pup - which is not easy, they are all so sweet and adorable. We went out for lunch at a nearby diner, while the wonderful people at Kimbertal trimmed our pup's nails and cleaned her up for us to take home. She sat next to me in the car, and for a 2 hour drive, was as good as gold. She sat quietly in the seat next to me, never barking or jumping. She didn't have an accident in the car either. Within a day she was used to walking on a lead, and was using the outdoors to relieve herself. She was such a smart pup, she would come when called, learned to sit, and responded to her name, when called. She learned all this in less than 24 hours. Kimbertal Kennels is most justifiably proud of their dogs' temperament. I can tell you that you will not find friendlier, or gentler dogs of any breed, anywhere. My experience with them stretches over 30 years, and after all this time, there is still no better, no more reliable, no more conscientious breeder, than Kimbertal. read more

I used to love Kimbertal. I've had my share of dogs from them. The most recent one I got on breeders terms. Syrynn! She was gorgeous and I was in love. Bobbi Ann said she HAD to be bred on her first heat. 10 months old. She was forced to breed. The minute I got her in the car to go home I knew it. She had a Pyrometra. Straight to the vet we go. She was very sick. I let Bobbi know. It's all about the money for them. Of course she didn't want her to be spayed. But she was so sick it was life threatening. Which I had a note from the vet. I made the decision to save her life. Of course they threatened to sue me. What's going on with Kimbertal now is NOT Kimbertal. They are just using the name Kimbertal but nothing about the place is Kimbertal. Change the name you're doing a disservice by calling it Kimbertal. read more

horrible, horrible breeder. Avoid at all costs. The majority of their dogs are not health tested, and they do not take any responsibility for the problems their puppies experience. The rescues and shelters are FULL of Kimbertal dogs -- just ask anybody in PA, NJ, or NY Doberman rescue how they feel about Kimbertal. Based on state documents, they churn out upwards of 500 puppies per year. A significant number of them die very early due to health problems - bone cancer, DCM, and CHF are rampant in their breeding lines and since they haven't tested most of the mothers, just the sires, you have no idea what you're getting. read more

I've delt with the kennel for over 30 years and I must say, it was good when I first started dealing with them, then as the years went by and management changed it went down hill. Nothing like the beginning, now that Bobbi Ann owns it I see much improvement and I'm happy to be dealing with them again, Bobbi Ann loves when she is doing and care for the pups and how the kennel is being maintained. Lucy and Ollie are my 2 Rotties from Kimbertal. Brother and sister...my family loves them! I have a rescued Rhodesian Ridgeback as well. Does anybody have any more info on the kennels? kimbertal kennels is the only place to get a top-quality dog. i personally have purchased 2 dogs and both of them have been the best dogs we have ever owned. my wife and i have had 6 Dobermans threw out our lives and none of them get the attention of people like a Kimbertal kennel dogs. we have personally been to the kennel and i assure you they are no puppy mill. i highly recommend them. 2 Dobbies from here. 1 suddenly passed from DCM at 5 years old and the other we had to put down due to DCM and CHF at 4 years old. Broke our hearts and still have trouble thinking about it to this day. I understand Dobermans have a high risk of this however this is supposedly a reputable breeder with high standards - this problem could be weeded out through genetic testing. They took on a responsibility and obligation to breed top-line dogs however BOTH of ours were not specimens of health. Just because a disease is common does NOT make it a good excuse. This diseased heart muscle is an inherited condition and preventable by genetic testing. read more

I am from California and I specifically flew to Pennsylvania to pick out a Doberman D9BB from Kimbertal Kennels on Christmas of 2012. We requested a larger size and boy did we get one. The owners and staff often get requests for the larger size and they have really perfected it. My dog is healthy and his temperament couldn't be any better. When we take him out for walks or in public everyone stops us to ask about him. He is 3 now and we are getting ready to go back to Kimbertal to get another Doberman. I send all my friends there too. They breed Dobermans and Rottweilers as they are supposed to be. Dobermans come with their ears already cropped and my Dobie's ears stood tall and strong at 4 months old. The kennel has good communication and no issues with shipping here to Arizona. I highly recommend! read more

If you do not want people to stop and talk to you about your dog or comment on how beautiful they are Kimbertal might not be the right breeder for you. I could not be happier with my pup. He is a year old and is the biggest teddy bear going. We purchased a superior size male and boy does he live up to that. He excelled at obedience training and is as much of a perfect example of the breed as you can ask for. On a 3 mike walk you'll get thumbs up signs and people pulling over to tell you how much they love your dog. read more

In my experience with Kimbertal Kennel from April till June 2018 has been one of the most difficult times of my life. Ann stated several different times that this has been the month or week from hell "where dogs are dropping and dying". Within 2 weeks of My Dobbie coming home from being bred at the kennel she began to fall. The next day she lost feeling of her right limbs. I called kimbertal and spoke to Ann she stated that I should not bring by Dog to a vet because x-ray's or medicine could hurt the pups she was carrying. I told her I never had a sick dog before and she needs a vet. I went to several different vets, they both said since it was so acute it was probably an injury. There cannot be a definite diagnosis without a neurologist (her pet insurance does not cover neurology). So, I then spent two months caring for my handclapped pregnant Dobbie. Ann suggested to get her a c-section and if I used the vet of her choice she would pay for it. So, I did. Because of my Dobbie having major surgery she refused any food or water she immediately stopped producing milk I had to force feed her through a syringe. I took off of work for two weeks to care for my dog and her 11 puppies I spent endless days with no sleep. Instead of offering to help with the veterinary care (also not covered by pet insurance) that my dog and her pups were in need of Ann finally suggested that the only thing she could do was to take my pups away from their mother before they were even one week old, in hopes of still making money off of them. Unfortunately, with in the 2 weeks we lost all of the puppies and my dogs health is now in deplorable condition. In the past few years with myself and family dealing with kimbertal the first dog was diagnosed at 6 months with only one kidney she past away by the age of one. Kimbertal "replace her" the replacement dog was healthy but was unable to have healthy litters. The only pup that did survive out of several litter had no testicles he had no monetary value to them. So, he was kept with his mother and still is. I am writing this in hopes that other Kimbertal Dobbie owner's or breeder's may share similar experiences read more

I have owned 2 Kimbertal dogs and they were unbelievable pets. Both were big girls 1st was a Dobe and second a Rottweiler and both were fairly healthy right up to the end of their lives at 11 years old. I purchased a beautiful Doberman from Kimbertal in Nov. 2016. She was a big beautiful female, courageous, smart and high driven, she turned heads everywhere we went, however in Jan. 2018 she developed symptoms that were disturbing ie. heavy cough and restlessness: to make a long story short she was diagnosed to be suffering from a congenital defect: DCM. She passed away in April of 2018 at 2 1/2 yrs. old. I immediately contacted Kimbertal Kennels to let them know about our puppy. They said the pup was guaranteed and would be replaced. I immediately asked if they would do a DNA test on the new pup...they told me "that's on your dime". Thanks, but no thanks, I cannot take the heartbreak. Proceed to purchase, cautiously. read more
