Let's go Krogering! This is my Kroger of choice. As mentioned in my other Kroger review, I drive out of my way to this location. I like this Kroger a lot. It's clean, staff is friendly & helpful, and well stocked. They recently made some changes in their layout to accommodate a larger variety in ethnic and health food selections. I'm not a huge fan of the produce, but I feel that way about most chain grocery stores. I'll grab some basic items, but I get most of my veggies elsewhere. The prices are OK, and it helps that I get coupons in the mail all the time for free items and good savings. Their booze selection is decent. You can mix a 6 pack of beer here, which is nice. They have a good selection of wine at decent prices. I enjoyed sampling some liquor here on a busy day that resulted in buying a bottle. They should do this more often! My husband is sad that they shut down the Tim Horton's though. This is a very busy location. They do a pretty good job of keeping the lines moving. I've always had a good experience shopping here. read more

CAN I SELECT NEGATIVE STARS?!?!?!?! I used to like this store because it was convenient to stop there on my way home. Man, has it has gone way downhill. Grimy-looking, pathetic stock selection in every dept, some stuff on the shelves looked like it had been opened & put back (Triscuits, noticeably). Tonight, ONE checkout lane open with a back log of customers at least 20 deep & getting deeper. There were 6 self-checkouts (I think) open, but you can't really take a full cart through those. Called the store FROM IN THE STORE to talk to the manager. She could not give a damn. I'm sure she got a LOT of complaints, but COME ON! She never mentioned staff calling out; the cashier, who was working his tail off (along with the gentleman bagging for him) told me he thought that's what happened. That & people on vacations. The manager was just like "Yes, we only have one register open. That's all there is" or some bs. Shouldn't SHE be jumping on another register & helping out? At least until the crowd thins? Lone Cashier & Lone Bagger were rock stars at getting people through as quickly as they could. I'm sure they won't GAF, but this is the last time I'm ever shopping there. I'll go way out of my way to go to a different store now. read more

Still a little pricey but of all the area Kroger's this is by far my favorite...plus you've got Target, Dunham's, Petco, Old Navy and Home Depot a stone's throw away for a multi-store shopping extravaganza. read more

This is a pretty good Kroger, but it has some customer service issues. For the most part, this is a clean, well-stocked and nicely organized store. I enjoy their expiring meat selections (shut up, they're deeply discounted and I cook that day), and I love that they have Boar's Head meats and cheeses. This is truly where I do 90% of my grocery shopping, but I've had two really disappointing experiences with their employees: Firstly, I went late on a weeknight to get some last-minute things on the way home from a late night at work. I had about 15 items and waiting at the checkout was an older man and a young girl openly complaining about customers. Their particular beef was with people needing help with finding things, or something of the like. They went ON AND ON about this IN FRONT OF ME while ringing up my things. The man was doing the ringing, and the girl just stood there talking as my items piled up at the end of the counter. I took it upon myself to bag my own things while they continued talking. At one point, I actually asked them rhetorically, "are you complaining about customers IN FRONT of a customer?" They said yes and continued while I bagged my own groceries. Very tacky. Second incident - I went to the deli counter for lunch meat on a busy weekend day. The ENTIRE team of deli employees was disgruntled. One girl complained about another employee not helping enough in her eyes. Everyone on the team was really slow-moving. The worst part is when the guy helping me accidentally sliced more meat than I ordered, he just chucked the extra meat in the garbage can before I could say I'd take it! It was about a quarter of a pound! SO WASTEFUL! Also, be sure you get the thickness you want of your meat before they go on, they always slice a little too thick. I'm pretty much going to continue to shop here, but the incidents above are worth noting. read more

Let me start by saying that this has long been my "go to" grocery store. 5 years ago, you would walk into this Kroger and it would be so clean, I swore I saw Molly and the rest of Ms. Hannigan's orphans sneaking into the back with their brooms and buckets. The shelves were stocked with classic favorites, specialty items and flavors of the month. Coupons ran abundant. Receiving my sale flier for Kroger was as exciting as a 25% coupon to J. Crew. I loved my grocery store, nay, I was PROUD of my grocery store. Fast forward -- and much like everything else in this country -- this store has gone to hell. It no longer shines like the top of the Chrysler building. It now resembles *gasp* Meijer. This may be fine for some folks, but I hate Meijer. Loathe. Despise. I would rather go to WalMart than Meijer...alas I digress.... Now the stock has diminished. Do you know they don't carry pizza flavored Goldfish? I love fishes - they're so delicious -- but no pizza flavor?!? Their costs have also gone up. One of the things I really liked about Kroger was their sales and prices. They managed to stay competitive with the aforementioned competitors, while offering a superior product and store. Their house brand was and still is great. However, they're now closer to Target prices -- and let's face it. If you're doing your grocery shopping at Target, you have the Rolls Royce of grocery budgets. Due to this, I find myself gravitating toward locally owned stores like Hollywood - who previously were too expensive, but now, with similar prices, offer a better quality of food. I will say that the staff at this Kroger are pleasant. Most are friendly and helpful -- and the cheese bar is sublime. read more

PSA: Did you know that Kroger can take the funds off your gift card after you purchase and leave the store? Doesn't sound possible? BEWARE!!! They do it and then hide behind 2 hours of wait time and not being able to get ahold of anyone. The store manager confirmed it happened, she tried to help but they "can't" solve it locally... KROGER IS SHADY!!!! UPDATE: only because I have my original purchase receipt and the authorization receipt are they able to agree to refund my money. Keep your receipts people!!! read more

It would be hard for me to find a Kroger I don't give five stars to. This one is located in Troy Michigan and has fantastic service and quality food. I recommend this to anybody who lives in the area and does not want to deal with the drama at Myer or the crowds at the other Meyer. This Kroger has been around at least five years or more and is part of the complex on Coolidge at Home Depot and Kohl's.they run the same local specials other Kroger's do. Aside from on the a few things, they do very much the same as the marketplace. With they don't have is the extreme amount of nuts and coffee and those kind of items. They do you however have a full list of everything that she would normally need in your kitchen as a Kroger always has. Also with the marketplace locations being new and exciting, the older more homey locations are even more stress-free than ever. read more

Even though I live within walking distance of the (icky) Kroger at 13/Woodward, I always do my weekly shopping at this location. Much better selection, cleaner, and the self-checkouts move faster. It does get very crowded during prime shopping hours on the weekend, and look out for the traffic...these people don't stop at the stop signs or yield to pedestrians in the crosswalk. I almost got squashed by a Beemer driven by a woman who was texting while blithely running all the stop signs. read more

The cashier I had was obviously sick - he had to stop and take his mask off to blow his nose and proceed on with ringing up my groceries (he did sanitize that time), but he also itched his eyes without sanitizing and touched all my groceries. There was sweat coming down his forehead. He also did not say one word the whole time. The woman that went before me asked him multiple times if he was feeling okay and how he should go home if he's not feeling well. With Covid cases on the rise, this man should not have been working and touching everything. I had to go home and sanitize all of my groceries he touched. Not to mention, that same day, I had to stop an employee to ask where something was, and her response was, "I'm not sure, I haven't seen them in a while." Well, that was helpful...not. Also, every time I see an employee walking around, they're usually rude and on their cell phones talking while at work. I am definitely trying to branch out and go to other grocery stores from now on. They're also out of a lot of things at this Kroger. Not impressed! read more

I love this place. I've been going to Kroger stores since I was a kid shopping with my mom, and I have lived in many different cities in the metro area and thus have experienced many Kroger stores. I must say this is the best one ever. Clean, well stocked, spacious, with friendly staff. The flower selection is fantastic and I love their Nature Market offering (other Kroger stores don't have nearly as much selection). Go there at 7:30am in a Saturday for a zen shopping experience. Knew the sale was a bait and switch. Went early to shop. Store had been open for about an hour and a half so one would assume they we're ready for business. NOT. Was looking to buy the ribeye steaks advertised on sale, but was informed by a meat clerk that I would have to come back later. He was busy. They conveniently had highre priced steaks for sale. I'm a African American male and there was an older women, who I believe to be racist, watching me while I checked out at Self Checkout. She came over my shoulder and watched me as well. Everytime i come to this location, there is only one register open. Some people have too many things to self checkout, and basically the only option is self checkout. Their excuse today was that 5 people quit and 1 person was late, however i see many workers wandering the store. If they don't have enough people to man the registers, they should hire more people. There are plenty of people who need jobs and the self checkout is taking those jobs away from them. read more

I usually love Kroger selections for groceries. But this grocery store ALWAYS seems to be running out of what I consider staples for families. I have given their Kroger click-list SEVERAL opportunities but they always manage to screw up our order in a major way. And this is not the case for the Royal Oak Kroger or the Waterford Kroger‍ I have used them 7 times since moving to the area. Once they gave me 8 jalapeño peppers instead of 1 (and yes I only selected one on my order) and insist that they cannot swap out organic for regular items (which the other locations will do). They also will not let me know when they are out of what I ordered or offer a substitute. When they DO offer a substitute, it's usually far from what I ordered. I have gone into the store after getting home with my incorrect order every time to let management know what went wrong, often speaking to the same manager each time, and the issues are still not being resolved. I will drive the extra 6 min to the other Kroger location any day. read more

Ok so you have a young man working there for the first time.its his first job ever besides cutting lawns and such works hard is on time and is so excited a lot of times is early. For the past month has been trying to get his user ID and password for there web site to request days off and see his schedule keeps checking with management but it still has not been done well the problem is he got fired because he was suppose to go in and didn't show up and then was sick the next day not and didn't go in knowing he was suppose to work so they fired him. maybe if management would of gotten things together this would of be weed happened. Normally a minimum 4 star rating. It is where I always shop. Today, 9/03/19 things changed dramatically. Nothing I wanted was on sale, but that is not the issue. Several times I saw a short skirted (6" to crotch) 5' 10" "hottie" flaunting her way up and down the aisles. After grabbing a small amount of items, including FRESH SALMON, I went to the check-out and was shocked to see ONE (1) check-out in operation. I had at least 8 full carts in front of me, and 3 or more behind me. When I saw "Miss hottie" being waited on at register 14 I said to the lady in front of me they have opened 14. As I followed her in that direction we both discovered that 14 was opened ONLY for Miss hottie. That was it. I left the cart where I stood and had the courtesy to let the customer service desk know that the fish was going to waste if they didn't put it away. Her response was to point to a list and say that 3 people called in sick. She didn't give a $hit about the fish and started a conversation with someone else before I left the counter. Normally 4 stars, but I'd start firing with the customer service person who were scheduled to work 9/03/19. read more

One of the better markets in the area overall. I wish that Kroger would establish a location closer to downtown R.O. though. The city is in dire need of a "real" supermarket rather than the half ass excuses of markets that currently exist. I would go to this location all the time if it were just closer! read more

I love Kroger. I really do. I've been shopping there for years and they always have great deals. Recently, they sent us coupons in the mail for things we regularly buy which is great. Right now though, this store in particular (and im guessing the other ones too but I've only been to this one recently) has been undergoing some changes. They are in the process of moving the whole store around. Im trying to be patient but I don't know where anything is anymore and everytime I come back they have more stuff rearranged making it even more confusing. None of the aisles even make sense anymore and they have added aisles making each aisle very cramped. Why are the feminine products in the same aisle as the juice?? And when I went there last there was an exposed pipe in one of the aisles hanging off the ceiling with some duct tape around it. I wish they would have closed the store for a day or something and just got it all done at once. I'm trying to be patient but this is getting frustrating. read more

This is a pretty clean grocery store. There's a great selection, and most of the people are really nice. The layout is backwards from most other grocery stores, but that's ok. I am also a fan of Kroger branded items. They are usually on par with the name brand stuff. read more

I checked out this Kroger recently and it's pretty good. It's not as well-designed as the newest of the new Krogers but it's clean, with a good selection of produce and a friendly staff (meaning staff here won't go out of their way to ignore you if they see you and will actually smile back!). It actually has a very good selection compared to many of the other Kroger stores in the area and staff seems to do a good job keeping things tidy. I don't know exactly how fresh items are but I didn't have any issues when I stopped in. I wrote more in my other reviews for different Kroger locations but simply put it's a grocery store that carries good stuff so it's worth your time if you need that good grocery stuff lol :)! read more

Why can't other places that I shop at be like this one? It is neat, it is organized, the help there asks if there is anything he/she/they can help me with even when I don't ask! (Did I tell you that it's CLEAN, too?) The check-out lines move quickly and NO HASSLE when buying my LIQUOR! (Hint, hint!)... Terrible service at checkout. No baggers and expectation is that customers bag their own. Terribly slow service during peak Sunday hours. Horrible clutter in aisles. Organic produce spoils quickly. I checked the internet this morning to see which Kroger had the best reviews near my zip code which is 48304. I'm so glad I did this - I'm having people over for dinner tonight and they all requested salmon. Kroger has the best because they put it in cooking bags for the customer. I had stopped in my regular Kroger yesterday and noticed a "substitute" fish person was behind the counter and the salmon looked like it had been butchered. I went to the Kroger on Coolidge in Troy after reading the reviews. Katherine who works the Seafood Dept. was absolutely WONDERFUL. She was so kind, patient and competent and acted like she was preparing it for herself she took such pains for it to be perfect. This is a great Kroger except for some poor employees. While I've had outstanding service from a person in the bakery and in the dairy department, other employees are very surly and seem bothered when you ask a question. That's generally not the case at Kroger. I often go to the Kroger at Livernois & Long Lake instead even though its smaller. read more
