Expensive prices, poor parking, and bag signal in the store (so using the Kroger app to clip coupons is almost impossible). We only use Kroger for emergency/last minute things. Kroger is overpriced in general and this one is no exception. Within the last year they've added these pickup parking spots for online grocery orders. Many years too late as the heavy usage of that has died down and they've removed some of the handicap spots closest to the door. Also they put in electric charging stations. Many grocers are frustrated by the lack of spots so they'll just park in those anyways and walk in. As you make your way to the back of the store my cell carrier (Verizon) is 1 bar to no bar. I'm not sure why this is as most buildings allow for cell service to come through, so something is interfering within the store. Items are typically in stock. If you need produce on the weekend the quality and availability suffers. read more

I'm honestly confused by the setup--having a bakery but no one available to staff it. Offering birthday cakes but not having anyone available to simply write "Happy Birthday" seems like a missed opportunity. When I asked for help both near the bakery and at the front service desk, I was told the bakery is not staffed. I did end up purchasing a cake, but on my way back to the office I stopped at another bakery to get one that could be properly finished. read more

I placed an online order for a cake a month before a birthday party. The order was accepted, and I received a confirmation email. I went to pick up the cake after the pick up time and was alerted that they no longer do that. Kroger's are a dime a dozen in this town, and if you've been to one, you've almost been to them all. I stop at this Kroger from time to time on my way into work to to usually pick up snack or lunch items. Walking in, it's laid out like any other Kroger. Produce, bakery and deli with the meats off to the right, and dry goods in the center. But, what I like about this location is the selection. I seem to have better luck finding stuff like veggie selections, sandwiches, and some ethnic food that doesn't require much cooking. Also, the shelves are almost always stocked, and I'm able to easily find stuff. I've been to a few grocery stores early in the morning for similar items, and sometimes they are half empty, and don't bother asking for any sort of help. Check out is always self checkout at the times that I am there, but the line moves smoothly and I'm in and out in no time. Bathrooms are clean, and I really do like coming here. I think it's one of their better stores. read more

This store has long lines. Only one register open that is not self check out. Over charged for the beer on sale and went back for difference and scanner law. I called first and yes I had to go back and show receipt. Staff was rude and took her time checking out the sale price even though I had photo on phone. She would not give me scanner law saying beer doesn't count. This is not true;it is included and counts. Staff was talking to her boss and she said give me a gift card for a inconvenience fee. I learned that I can sue them for not giving me the scanner law. This Kroger is over charging many other people. This is one of the reasons Michigan has a scanner law. The staffs rudeness is also very wrong and not deserved. I was nice and helpful which is why I went back to get photo of sale price. Staff would not look at photo but slowly walked to look. Another customer witnesses all of this and thought staff was very rude. Glad I have photo and receipt which will be helpful if I decide to sue. Check your receipt. read more

With everything happening in the world today and people being quarantined in their homes I understand the panic but please people remember when running into the store to purchase the essentials I ask everyone to personally thank the workers who are doing their best by sticking shelves as fast as they can. This store has always been a disappointment. I've used the pick up at many other Krogers and never had issues. This store picks the most defective and unusable produce, most likely to get rid of it since nobody would pick it in person. I typically don't go here for that reason but being the busy holiday season, I thoughtlessly did a pick up on nonperishables. How could they mess that up, right? I was wrong. Whoever packed the bag put all the heavy items into a bag torn all along the side. I grabbed it out of the car, unknowing the side was all opened. Out came my sauce and busted all over the garage floor. Now I have two more things to do today, replace the sauce and clean the garage floor. This place is awful. There are a million other Krogers, go to any one of them. Just skip this one. read more

This Troy location for Kroger is one I go by regularly so I will stop in when they have a sale on something I want or there is something I need. It is a busy area with a AAA office, CVS, and other thriving businesses and parking can sometimes be a little challenging although there is plenty of parking available if you don't mind a little walking. The store itself is a bit older than some that have been remodeled recently but it is generally always clean, the shelves are well stocked, the employees are helpful and friendly, the produce is good quality, and the prices are reasonable. This is one of several Kroger locations that I shop at depending on what route I am taking and whether I can make a combined trip because of a business nearby that I also need to stop at. read more

Rebecca pharmacist at this location is OUTSTANDING!!! She is always friendly no matter how busy she is! Rebecca goes above and beyond with her customer service!! There was a male pharmacist who's name I do not remember that was truly the WORST pharmacist I have ever dealt with!! Please beware if there is a male pharmacist you may not get good service. He was rude enough that he hung up on me while I was asking questions about a medication I had never taken and was nervous about taking. The rest of the staff has also gone ABOVE & BEYOND with outstanding customer service in the last year that I and 3 months since I changed pharmacies!! It's Covid and they are giving flu shots, understaffed and over stressed yet they are always pleasant to me and other people every month! Due to health issues I am there two or three times per month in the last 6 months. I cannot thank Rebecca enough for ALL her help and information!!!!! I was here at 8:30 AM. I needed lunch meat specifically cut from the deli which does not open until 10 AM on saturdays; even though there was deli staff stocking the coolers. I had a full cart of groceries and not one aisle was open for check out, only the self scan.The lettuce was $1.79 a head and the size of my 2 fists put together. Although the staff here is very friendly, the store itself is very understaffed and I feel sorry for the people who come to work here every day and deal with the customers such as myself that are so crabby Because of the awful shopping experience! read more

It's easy in and out, and not at all crowded on a weekday afternoon. My mom let me have her Kroger fuel points to get $0.20 cents off each gallon I purchased. Gas was $3.79/gallon, so I got it for $3.59. If I didn't have the discount I would fill up elsewhere. Meijer was just $3.69 on the same day. These days though, gas prices are ever changing, and so are most people's loyalty to any one brand. read more

Tho the store is kept looking clean and updated,(which is why I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 star) I am very disappointed in the condition of their produce. This store is very close and convenient for me, however I choose to drive miles out of my way as a result of the produce problem. I am compelled to write this as a result of my latest purchase, a Boar's Head prepared Salad. The salad had many browned pieces of lettuce and two very large lettuce cores. But when it comes to produce, I have found theirs to be a little less fresh at times, and that they tend to carry mostly seasonal fruits and veggies. I think that some people have been confusing the Kroger Fuel Center location on Rochester adjacent to Long Lake (18 Mile) with the Kroger store location that I am reviewing now. This Kroger is in it a bigger strip mall with no fuel center. Three Krogers in Troy but this is one I've been coming to as a kid for years. Definitely get a Kroger card if you shop here regularly. Groceries are fairly inexpensive and are even more so if you have a Kroger card. Plus there are discounts if used at a Kroger fuel center. I had a hankering for some garlic bread after making spaghetti. Love all fresh storemade garlic bread and Kroger is no exception. For $2.69, I devoured that garlic bread and thoroughly enjoyed it. Enough about my situation haha. This Kroger has most of the standard departments. Bakery, produce, meats, and all the standard aisles you see in most grocery stores. It's also convenient because it's in a big plaza with a AAA, UPS, Great Clips, a 24 hour CVS, and a few other businesses. And it's at a major intersection with Livernois...you got a Little Caesars, banks, restaurants, and a gas station in the immediate area. A convenient location!!! read more

This Kroger is pretty nice and spacious, more so than the Kroger at Maple and Coolidge. The layout is pretty different, though, and the organic/health foods aisle seems smaller. Bread is found in the first aisle from the right. I always forget this and walk in a big loop around the store looking for it. The produce looks nice, and I always seem to find lots of items in stock, even at the end of the week (weekly sales start on Monday mornings and end Sunday nights). But then, I tend to go during off-peak hours. If you bring your own shopping bags, all Kroger stores will give you 5 cents per bag. This doesn't happen if you're in the checkout lane, though, unless an employee keys in the code for you. (EDIT 7/2/2012: They stopped doing this a year ago or so, wah.) Also, one time I accidentally left my notebook (in which I write my shopping lists) in a shopping basket. When I called, the person at the customer service desk immediately said that they had it. I was pleasantly surprised that they knew where my notebook was and that getting it back was so quick and painless. (EDIT 7/2/2012: I don't know what the customer service hours are at this store, but the hours at the Maple and Coolidge store are 8:00 am to 9:00 pm. So you may want to call and check before you try to return something, get a Kroger Plus Card for the first time, etc.) In comparison, once my friend and I misplaced a set of keys at a Meijer. Granted, Meijer is a much larger store than Kroger, but we knew where we'd left them. The customer service employee had to search for half an hour to find them because another employee had left the keys in the employee lounge, rather than with customer service, and hadn't told anyone. But then, Meijer customer service is another story for another review... *shudder* read more

Always clean, lots of gas pumps, plenty of room to navigate your XL cars/trucks. Does have a small selection of snacks, drinks, inside. I come here every time I have to fill up so I use my Kroger fuel points. read more

I wish they would REQUIRE face masks for shoppers. Most do wear them and practice social distancing, but maybe 5-10% do not wear a face mask and it's discourteous at this time. This is my local Kroger and it is an older model, but it carries everything you would expect from this chain. I will say that even comparing it to Nino Salvaggio the produce from this store is pretty darn good and also reasonably priced. They also have a decent sized organic produce section, if you are into that kind of stuff. read more

I don't understand why I see the five star reviews or maybe because I'm just picky. I usually shop at this kroger and have no problem with this kroger until this specific experience had made me feel compelled to write this review. I bought raspberries and spring mix (box container) and usually those items last a couple days or so. However, when I got home the raspberries already had mold in them. I opened up the spring mix and everything seem fine so I used the spring mix. The next day, I shuffled the spring mix to use the bottom part of the box and I found molded spinach! Usually, kroger carries fresh produce and their stuff is generally stuff and I had no problem with them since I've shopped at this particular location for the past year. It is 11:24. It says they close at 12. I'm at the next gas station a mile away typing this bc they closed. I don't expect much from a gas station but when gas prices are getting pretty high, I commute to Detroit and back, and I have an SUV, that 10¢ per gallon adds up quick. Dropped off my prescription yesterday at 930am. was told it would be 15 mins. I finished shopping and it still was not done. I came back the following morning at the same time and they had not even started it. No apology and they looked understaffed and disorganized. This is my favorite Kroger in Troy, the meat selection is better than the others. The seafood and deli counters are good as well. Produce is top-notch for a grocery store. A few times, the produce shelf was missing an item, or very low in stock, and the produce clerk has gone in back and brought more out for me. Or once, they were out of the blueberries on special, and I witnessed a customer being given the sale price on the organic blueberries which were in stock. The few times I've gone to the Service desk over the years for a refund or price adjustment (spoiled produce, item was rung up wrong or I neglected show or enter my Kroger card) I've always been given my money back, no questions asked. In conclusion, I give this store a top rating for being clean, well-stocked and they've demonstrated that customer satisfaction is a priority. read more
