I've been here several times, Kroger is the 2nd largest grocery chain in the US. Their produce quality seems to be better than HEB and Walmart. Their selection of high end gourmet ingredients is better than HEB but could definitely be better. They do have some brands and products that other stores locally, do not carry. The store is clean and merchandised well. Their prices are mostly comparable to local competitors, which is to say overpriced due to fake inflation (corporate greed) and some other products are incredibly overpriced. I don't necessarily recommend them for weekly groceries, but they are OK if you are looking for occasional gourmet products or products other stores don't carry. Example: Chock full O'nuts coffee brand. ( Very overpriced, but the only place I have found it) read more

I don't come here regularly, (only when I need an item or two - the location is very convenient) but they sell this athletic tape that my husband uses. It's pretty affordable. Kroger is usually pricey. The store is usually calm and quiet, so I'd pay the extra for the quiet shopping experience. Their bakery and deli section is on point. It has everything you'd need for charcuterie. A wide selection of items there. I also frequent their floral department cause it's on the way to my son's school. Flowers are always a good gift for his teachers. I always have to use the self checkout. At times it malfunctions and says I didn't scan an item. That's just the world we live in now. Employees Too Focused on Pokémon, Not Customers I usually shop at this Kroger for convenience, but lately, it's been really frustrating. Several times now, I've come in looking for Pokémon cards only to find employees actively checking the stock for themselves while they're on the clock. I've seen them sorting through new shipments or chatting about what rare pulls they got--meanwhile, nothing ever seems to make it to the shelves for regular customers. It's really disappointing to see staff prioritizing personal hobbies over doing their job, especially when it directly affects what's available to shoppers. If this is happening with Pokémon cards, what else are employees setting aside for themselves? It doesn't feel fair or professional. Kroger really needs to set better boundaries with employees when it comes to handling collectibles. Let customers have a chance too. Update 4/19/2025: I promise I will NEVER EVER EVER shop at this Kroger again after this morning, not even their gas. They didn't have 1 single line open, even the self check-outs were all closed, and they only had 2 new 15 items or less self check-outs open. If it doesn't think you scanned something, the belt reverses and shoves it back at you, then the girl would come over and just scan and scan items until the message went away. At the end, it tried to double-charge me for a whole lot of things including some sparkling drinks that you have to buy 10 to get 49 cent discount per each - it didn't give me the discount even though I had 10 exactly and put in my phone number for their tracking, and it showed at least 15 of the drinks in my final amount. I walked out and left it at the check-out. I had over $100 of stuff but who knows if it was even close to accurate. Mind you the only lines open were for self-check 15 items or less. Please shut it down and let a decent grocery store exist here. ALL of the 5 star ratings on here are FAKE. 4/12/2025: And it just gets worse. Nobody to check out groceries on a Saturday morning. Just shut it down already. Negative 100000. Last year: I will NOT be shopping here again in spite of it being about 1 mile from where I live UNLESS I need to use it like a convenience store. I bought Bob Evans mashed potatoes today and didn't check the expiry date, and they were still being sold in the store in spite of the fact they expired 5 DAYS ago. My review is on the food, at the hot foods their was always rice and chicken and salad left to get. I was told by the people that make sushi that rice takes too long to cook so now you can barely get rice if were lucky once every 2 weeks. Salad bar is empty which is sad because I went there every week. Now they took out the cheesecakes. I came to kroger because I could shop and get a lunch but lunch is gone. read more

Hello for anyone interested this is a beautiful store with great inventory. If you want to know my opinion.. its a shame the people working here pretty much all have a very negative attitude. I have kindly asked for help many times only to be completely ignored or lied to just given attitude. If they could manage to hire some people who actually give a damn it would change everything. Also beware buying gift cards. I paid about 250$ in cards and one didn't have a pin number. When I called the store asking for help the guy was very uninterested and basically told me I needed to buy another one. Which was a complete lie because they have a special hotline for these types of issues but he was too lazy to direct me properly. read more

Very nice Kroger off of Holzworth in the Springwoods area. Never heard of it, but needed a business that was located in this great shopping center. The store was very nice, new and well organized. LOVE this store! My new favorite Kroger. It has the feel of a Whole Foods' store. They have a great variety of food choices that are not your everyday items. For example we tried this AMAZINGLY delicious bourbon cheese with hints of Merlot. Faaantastic! I nearly lost my mind with all the seasonal dessert choices too. From sweet potato pie (), cheesecakes, chocolate overload cake, and and an eyeball cookie cake for Halloween to name a few. I also love the mini food stations, especially the one where you can customize your own Pho. Such a great touch. There's a cozy Starbucks inside as well, and not to mention just the perfect location for various other eateries. DEFINITELY returning. Chao! read more

The Squeegees are Back! It is hard to find good customer service in today's world. Even with the Pandemic around one would think that companies would be more sensitive to their customers' needs and not use "COVID-19" as an excuse to not provide services. Kroger has "Stepped Up" in customer service and provides for customers even through this crisis. It is not something we are all in together, we are all affected by the crisis, but we are not equally effected. I already had horror stories here from no registers being open & managers saying they can't open them so full baskets have to use self check out. I denied that and had the manager do it since she said it was easy. She struggled, I felt bad but I know for a fact they can open registers, she just didn't want to. Well today, yes Christmas Eve I had the worst check out guy in line 16 ignoring everyone to text, and not just a quick text, several. Even the guy behind me looked at him like "really" then looked at me and we kinda shared a WTF smile. He and the bag girl had their phones in their hand. I assume he was a floor manager or something he had on a red vest. He was rude and somehow upset when I ignored him right back. Y'all really need to do a better job here. While it is rarely packed and close, there are too many people that need jobs to hire people with bad attitudes. read more

Only go to this kroger if you need a couple of items. This is not a grocery store that wants you to buy a cart full of groceries. During the week after ~4pm, you don't see more than 1 actual cashier. I'm guessing they want everyone to use self checkout (one machine is always down). This isn't to keep prices lower than other stores because this is the most expensive store. There produce can also be bad from time to time. Weekends may have a few cashiers but during the week, especially between 5-7, expect very long waits. The only advantage is the location. Today's the last straw. I'd drive miles out of my way to find a competitor if I had to. Its been years since I had a good service at Kroger, and never at this location. I won't list all the reasons, but how about just 2 examples...after a hard day, limping obviously away from check out, I pushed my cart to the door closest to my car parked in a handicap spot. An employee rushed in front of me and locked the door at 7:55. I understand it's supposed to be locked at 8:00, & asked if she could just let me through to my car in the first handicap space. "No. I'm just following rules. " Today, since they keep sending me coupons, I spent 40 minutes shopping, of course picking frozen items LAST so they don't thaw. When the training cashier told me goodbye that's when her useless trainer finally noticed she didn't scan my handful of coupons. Then looked at me & said "sorry, we can't do anything about it. " I insisted they call a manager... 10-15 minutes later when the frozen food is all soft, a manager drags my cart to the service desk to void & ring everything up again. NOPE. I got a refund & left empty handed. read more

All employees are super rude, from the meat department to groceries. They don't want to help and curse at your face if they are told to do something. Supervisors in the red jacket (Daryl and Jordan) are both useless and are always gossiping while they stand around and don't help. Don't waste your time coming to this Kroger. read more

I'm digging my new neighborhood Kroger! I must admit I'm a usually an HEB fan but since this store opened I've been coming here instead. First of all, it's not crowded like all the other grocery stores in the area. I'm sure this will eventually change but for now I'm enjoying some peace and tranquility while I do my grocery shopping. This Kroger is definitely one of the nicer ones I've been to and they have specialty items you don't see at other stores like bulk candy and self serve Mochi. They also offer a good selection of cheese and wine. The produce selection is decent as are the deli and meat departments. Also, the staff is super friendly. This Kroger never has enough stocked. But most importantly the customer service is awful. Staff ignores you when you ask questions. They allow soliciting outside the store. They literally chase you down in the parking lot and won't take no for an answer. I asked the manager of they were legitimate and she said she didn't even know they were out there so she sent someone to go check it out and he just simply walked to the self check out and turned around and pretended to act like he was looking I don't really like to go to the store and be harassed by solicitors in the parking lot especially since they didn't look legitimate at all!! I have always been a Kroger fan, but this store has blown me away. The store is always clean and has everything you could possibly need. The sushi and deli departments are great and the fresh made to order sandwiches are great for lunch. But what makes this Kroger stand out is the knowledgeable and FRIENDLY staff. This location was a good Kroger when Todd and Matt were there. Now when items are stocked incorrectly and priced incorrectly, and they ring up considerably higher than where stocked, you are treaded almost like a liar. This has to be the most disorganized, inefficient and inconsiderate pharmacy we have had to deal with. ALWAYS takes at least an hour to get a prescription filled and any refill is always promised the next day! So much time is consumed at the registers with cashiers visiting with customers that standing in line becomes infuriating. One night after checking out at 11:30 30 minutes past clothes, I left a personal item, (a $100+ vaporizer), in my shopping cart in the parking lot at the end of the night. After driving back across town from my house in the galleria area, several hours after closing at 3:00 in the morning, only to find all of the carts in the parking lot empty. Very nice, large and clean store. They seem to have everything and it's close to where I live. They also have a Starbucks in this store and every time I've ordered a drink, it tastes just as good if not better than the Company Starbucks store. The only reason I gave it a 4 star vs a 5 star is the service I've received a couple of times when I needed something or asked for help. read more

Everytime I go to this Kroger I want to have a pleasant experience since its fairly new, but it's never the case. I went there to get fresh fish snd asked man in the back to cut it in half. He got an attitude and cut my fish with a dirty knife that was used and laying on a cutting board . He then put fish in a paper bag and handed it to me after I asked for a plastic bag. I then walked down to get fresh chicken and when I walked up Robert walked from behind the counter ignoring me. He finally came back and I asked for drummette pieces to which he told me he didn't know what that meant. I had to show him what a drummette piece was. He was wearing gloves as he placed the chicken in a bag. His hands and nails were dirty and disgusting. It looked like he'd been digging in dirt. He had scratches on his hands and arms like he'd been in a fight as his skin showed scabs. I asked for his name and he said why are you going to report me and I said maybe., he started saying he was a Christian and I said you don't act like it and left. I asked for a manager to speak to and young lady was playing with her phone at the register. Then she lied and said mgr was gone for the day. I asked who was in charge and a mgr named Matt was supposed to show up, I waited for 20 minutes. When Matt showed up he didn't acknowledge me or ask if he could help. He starred at me with anger as if I did something to him. I asked what his name was and he yelled Matt then walked off. I then went to the courtesy counter and asked if the store had left for the day and the young man called Melissa who is and was there, not gone as the one girl told me. I told Melissa all that happened and she was nice and pleasant. Then yesterday I came back for a party tray and this time Tina was working in Deli snd very rude and onary. No customer service skills. I am again contacting corporate. These people act like Kroger is the only place to shop. They should be thankful they still have jobs, but Matt, Tina and Robert are in the wrong profession. My unsatisfactory review only relates to the Meat & seafood market at the Kuykendahl store. The good review for the Holzworth/Spring Stuebner store off of 99 store is at the bottom so please read. I will never order crawfish from the Kuykendahl store again. My daughter called 2 days before Easter to reserve a bag of crawfish for our Easter Sunday family crawfish boil. She asked if she had to pick it up early and was told no, she can pick them up any time Sunday. My husband went to pick them up and they had already sold it to someone else!! His is after we've cut up all the vegetables to put in the pot - so there's no plan B. They had no more to buy so my husband had to buy all of the boiled ones they had, which isn't enough for us and it's much more expensive then live ones. So I called Bob, the market manager, and I was lied to: 1. He said they called her at noon to see if we were going to pick them up but there was no answer. I'm telling you - no one called; 2. Then claimed he didn't have her name on the list - so how could he call her? He did later find it but it was written in the wrong place, and 3. He said he had just called all the other Krogers in the area, including the one at 99/Holzworth, and every store was out. So I phoned that store and Jimmy, the market manager, said no one called him today and they had several bags in the store from cancelled orders. When I said to Bob that he needed to do something to make this right he offered a free bag next weekend, but my family will be out of town next weekend. So I asked if he had any shrimp and he said he would give us a couple of bags, which my husband drove back and picked up (he gave us 5 lbs. of shrimp, which still isn't enough to feed all of us). My husband then drove to the Holzworth store to buy their crawfish and Jimmy said in order to make up for our inconvenience he would upgrade us to the premium sized ones and took $20 off the price.
