Theiss Farm Market is an all time favorite of farm fresh veggie goers and the country apron-styled cook. Our family regularly purchases nice red home grown tomatoes, okra, corn on the cob, green beans, fresh summer peas, yellow squash and red potatoes. My hubby always enjoys the summer melon selections. They hire & retain Klein High School students who are polite and respectable (no body art, nose rings or piercings, foul language, colored hair or brow hitches) who are mostly college bound. The students are generally delightful, informative, mature, helpful and garnish a memorable experience for such a family oriented business and community. The market provides an open air environment with no smoking or vaping which is nice. It is not fancy and is typical of a farmer's market establishment. If you hadn't made your way to Theiss Farm Market yet, I urge you to go!! What a cute magical place full of fresh produce, gorgeous plants, and a ton of pumpkins to choose from. Family owned by Mike and Stacy, great people, what a lovely life. The Heirloom tomatoes I grabbed are from Marfa, sweet onions from Vidalia GA, beautiful brown Pasteurized eggs from yellow rose egg farm. The jalapeños and giant cucumbers all home grown. They have amazing hanging plants from $19-24, it's a steal! I swear I would walk around this market all day. You will truly enjoy your visit here. read more

We tried out this nursery because we had a section in my Dad's backyard, behind the pool to fill up with beautiful unique plants. Theiss did not disappoint! First driving in, we noticed it was not too busy. Getting out of the car we saw, heard and felt the hustle and hard-work of the employees rearranging plants with equipment and by hand, we heard them working with customers. Walking in, we instantly noticed the goodies on the shelf in the mason jars for sale and the cool outdoor decor for purchase!; we bought one of everything on the shelf and everything was so yummy. My favorite was the fig preserve (so good over cottage cheese and fresh berries. Thank me later ). We wondered around and placed plants together to eye what would look nice together for our backdrop behind the pool. This nursery was so chill (I felt free to just BE and LOOK. Also, there was a man working in the plants that was eager to help and suggested many different plants for the area that would work in the area we were looking to fill. What we purchased: purple ornamental grass and some Snow On The Mountain (sooo pretty, need to get more to fill in). We also bought some corn nuggets, dried banana chips, cucumbers, PURPLE HULL (already peeled and frozen in a bag), okra, and oranges. All fresh fruit and veggies turned out great with our lunch and we tried all the canned goodies as soon as we got home and unloaded all our plants lol!!! ((When)) I go back, I am looking forward to buying one of their whole chickens, more veggies and looking into some of their plants that attract butterflies . I recommend this place. Parking is very small, so please bring your kindness and patience. Customer service was very great, so the entire experience is worth the time and wait. The place was overall nice, clean and organized, not too difficult to find. But I'm very disappointed with the fact that it advertises itself as a "homegrown" farmers market. Aside from some green beans and one variety of berries in the cooler, nothing here was home grown. Not even bought from another local farm. All produce was grocery store produce. Stickers and all. UPC labels on everything, Sunkist stickers on the oranges, Chiquita labels on the pineapples, watermelons all labeled and in the same bins on pallets that get delivered to Walmart. Nothing against this kind of produce, but when I've gone out of my way to drive to a "homegrown farmers market" and pull up to find I could've just gone to my Walmart is a little annoying, I've wasted my time. Seems this has been an issue dating back at least 13 years based on some of the reviews I looked at afterwards. read more

While a little out of my way, I try to stop by whenever I am in the area. They have a large variety of vegetables, sauces, honey, yard decor, and plants. Although I keep going back for their amazing lettuce. Yes, lettuce. It is fresh, crisp, and has no after taste like other greens have. I'm hooked. This place was so helpful with buying plants to landscape our new yard. He walked me around and showed me what plants work best for my yard based on sunlight and temperatures. The produce, honey, and farm fresh eggs were also a huge plus. Instead of going to my local Supermarket, I will continue to give them my business. They really listened to my needs! read more

This review is for the location near Stuebner-Airline and Louetta, the location that I've been going to for years. The produce here IS indeed locally grown. Their corn is beyond unbelievable. Let's just say that when corn is "in," we eat corn almost every night. It's THAT good. The tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers (a wide variety of them from jalapenos to bell to banana) are all home grown. Their eggplant is home grown too, and it's the sweetest eggplant I've ever tasted. At times they do pull from other farms in the state -- and that's only when their own fields are depleted or they didn't cultivate that particular crop that year. The watermelons I've purchased this year (2 so far) have been superb. Don't know what was referred to in a previous review that "This place is not a farmer's market!!" -- believe me, the one I go to IS indeed a farmer's market. It may not be HUGE, but it's the real deal. I count the days until it opens each spring and then stock up before it closes in the fall. **On a side note, they also sell local honey (honeycomb in the jar), which is excellent. And they carry a wide variety of the Klein Bros. products like pickles and salsa. Again, I stock up on all of this stuff to last me through the winter because it's just THAT good. read more

After passing this place many times on the way to visit my sister and brother-in-law, I finally made the effort to pull in. I love farmers' markets, and this one looked quite decent from the street (and I wanted a sno-cone). The produce is housed under a well-constructed pavilion with a tin roof. There are plenty of fans to cool you off as you grab your shopping basket and begin to shop around. There are several rows full of fresh, local produce. A big plus is the fact that this place is open seven days a week! I haven't seen too many farmers' markets like that. I guess you can do that when you have been in business for over 158 years. The staff was friendly and willing to help. They had some rustic furniture and natural skin-care products that caught my sister's eye. I focused on the great-looking vegetables! I bought some cantaloupe, big strawberries and a few cloves of garlic, but I could have easily bought everything. Unfortunately, my original sno-cone craving went unnoticed, and I left without one. I love this little market. It conveniently located close to our home so I stop about every now and then. They usually have a great selection of plants, fruit, veggies, honey, local eggs and we especially love the homemade banana bread. They also have beautiful black spruce Christmas trees in December. read more

I don't usually visit this place too ofeten as its kinda of far from my house but they have goof quality produce. They have a pretty large selection and are very well organized. All of the items I have bought from here have all been well priced and good quality. If you live in the area and like to eat farm fresh produce then I highly recommend them. I was happy to find local tomatoes so close to home! They offer lots of Texas produce and homegrown options as well. The zucchini looked amazing and I can't wait to go back and try it. This place is not a farmer's market!! The fruit has stickers that say Florida, Mexico and Sunkist. Nothing is locally grown. Go to the market on Grogan's Mill Saturday mornings. Much better. read more

We think this market is fantastic! Their fruits are sweet and extremely fresh (no bruising). The veggies are crisp and taste like well grown veggies are supposed to taste. So far we have tried the peaches (ate them all the same weekend), the kiwi (phenomenal taste and perfectly ripe), the tomatoes (sweet and juicy), the cucumbers (just ate them raw with the tomatoes), and the honey. After trying the honey in a peanut butter and honey sandwich I stopped kidding myself and just drizzled it over the bread, cut the sandwich into prices, and ate it with a fork. Didn't know honey would taste so much better than the store bought stuff but it definitely does taste much better! I think the reviewer who rated this poorly was either confused or a competitor. While I'm no expert in all things locally grown, the things we tried were clearly grown with care not given to the things you see in big grocery stores. I don't know if there is a way to prove "local grown-ness" with 100% certainty or whether there may be a better farmers market somewhere else, but I was convinced this was well worth the trip after only a few bites of their fantastic produce. We will likely frequent this market now that we know it's there! Coincidentally and as another commenter mentioned before me, the snow cone place next door is also above par as snow cone places go. It's that soft ice that most of us like not the crunchy stuff that takes forever to melt in your mouth. You might want to get one to eat on the way home to keep you from eating all the peaches before your family gets a chance! read more

So glad my daughter and I decided to stop here so that she could pick up fresh vegetables for her 2 year old little boy. She only had $10 total to spend for the week, but managed to get away with buying him enough for the entire week and still had a couple bucks to spare. She picked up sweet potatoes, carrots, tomatoes and squash for him him. The ladies who worked there were friendly, the produce looked and smelled wonderful and the prices were excellent. I use to go there but nothing seems homegrown I can get the same thing at the store I quit going because when I leave there the shell driveway leaves my tires white so especially when I've just had my black car washed I make sure not to pull in, wish they would put some concrete down. read more

Guy working there told me most of the produce came from HEB or local groceries. There were a few things sold there that were from local farms like some bug infested squash and he said the beans in the fridge were local as well as the honey, the rest from grocery stores. read more

This is a great little market. An FYI for those who said the produce had stickers. Yes sometimes, and what time of the season did you go? In between? Too early too late? Local produce only grows for a limited time...ask them what is in season. Plus we don;t grow everything here. I don;t think we grow avocados here etc. So....
