Now this is a CLEAN and FRESH market you can enjoy. Of course it doesn't have all the fancy pants labels you come to expect from nation wide or local grocery stores. I went to this ALDI instead of my usual one because my prescription sunglasses broke and I took them to a great place to get them repaired.(All American Eyeglass Repair)I had to wait for them to get repaired so I went next door to ALDI's for a few items. The lay out for this location is different than the one on Barker Cypress. (Not really a fan of it) The veggies are at the front door. The snacks are in the back of the store. The milk/eggs are in the back corner. Due to Coronavirus/COVID-19 - This ALDI should put something on the ground for social distancing. (Circles reminding people to keep a 6 ft distance) Barker Cypress ALDI has arrows showing which way you are suppose to go down each aisle. At this location people just walk right next to you to get an item-wait a minute you need to BACK UP! I am surprised by the amount of people who DON'T wear mask or gloves. (Even a pregnant girl)This is CRAZY TO ME! We are still in a pandemic people!!!! They were a little low on some items but, for the most part they had what I needed. I love Aldi but I don't think I will be visiting this location again. The lay out was just "off" to me. I will go to the Barker Cypress location instead. read more

One of my favorite Aldi locations! I've been going to Aldi all around houston area, and I feel as though this one has the best produce selection, along with meat, cheese, and other house hold items. Their beer and wine selection is also very impressive, which sticks out to the other locations I've been to. I recently been obsessed with Aldi, and sometimes go twice a day! This location is very neat, and the parking lot is roomy. So easy to get in and out of! Don't forget your bags! This was my first time here and no thank you, I will stick to HEB. I did get grapes and asparagus because the price seemed reasonable to HEB. They did have some yummy peanut butter chocolate cookies for $.99. Other than that, things didn't seem that great of a deal for the quality you get. You have to bag your own groceries and have your own bags handy. My friend loves this place and that's why I checked it out. Not worth the drive or inconvenience of having to make sure you have a quarter for a cart and bags. They stock and clean floors with a huge machine right in the middle of the day with customer and make you go around them. read more

I stopped here on a whim once because I had some time on my hands and I've heard great things about Aldi's prices through various people. This is definitely a bare bones type of store - don't expect to see the typical brands you would see at your regular stores. When I first came here, the prices blew my mind and I was kind of upset considering I had just left HEB for majority of my groceries and just came here for one thing. It's been a couple of months now since I first came here, and I don't do the bulk of my groceries here. I'll come for specific items that I know I can go bare bones on, or things like blocks of cheese. I once needed Gruyere cheese for a party dip I was doing, and it cost me $10/ea. at HEB. I found a block at Aldi for substantially less. Overall, if you're not particular about food brands and stuff like that, check Aldi out! You can find some good deals. They also have $2.99 (I think was the price) wine that was not all too bad. read more

Stopped into this Aldi when I was in the area, mainly to check it out and see if it was much different from the Aldi that I normally frequent. Glad I did! While this location is designed ever-so-slightly differently than other locations, it does stock some items that I wasn't used to seeing at the store closest to me. Produce was arranged in a much more organized fashion, too, and there were many more choices as well. Aldi is sort of a bare-bones type of store. I've stated that clearly in other reviews I've written for the chain. But you simply cannot beat their prices on eggs, milk, and staples like flour and sugar. There are very specific items I purchase at Aldi and save myself a whole lot of money in the process. This is a clean store with a large parking lot. Located at an intersection with a traffic light, access into and out of the store is easy (and safe) since you're on a busy section of Louetta Rd. I will definitely be back to this location, as I felt the stock at this Aldi was superior to the store located just north of my home. TIP: try some of their beers or wines. Very reasonably priced and there is a diverse selection of both domestic and imported varieties of both. Remember, this is part of the Trader Joe's organization, so selection will be comparable (but with different labels). Haven't had a bad bottle yet. read more

Be warned, you have lost a customer and about to lose more after I report this company. Over half a million people have died from COVID and one Aldi shopper refused to wear a mask. When I reported to staff, I was told that company policy does not require customers cover their face. In addition, the carts are not sanitized, stores are not sanitized, and the cart wipes & hand sanitizer at the front door we're both out. Aldi doesn't care about their employees or customers so I'll take my money to HEB for now on. read more

To the male manager (tall slim shaved hair on sides -I will find out his name) I have been going to this Aldi for many years and this man has been working here for a very long time. I am a 59 year old woman who has been through his check out line probably one hundred times over the years. This person has never smiled once. Today he looked at me with a straight face and asked for my ID.I thought he was joking around but come to find out he was dead serious. He said I can clearly see that you are over 21 but I need to ask anyways. Really? After several years? I had to leave and go out to my car and retrieve my license. It was absurd and I feel he did it to embarrass me.Maybe he thinks I buy wine too often. It was a very strange and unsettling. Never get a car ding at this Aldis! LOVE how you have to put a quarter in to get the cart! Which means to get your quarter back, you have to return your cart. Brilliant! I wish all grocery stores were like this! I never ever have to worry about a stray cart hitting my car. This is hands down the best Aldi in Houston. Everything is always stocked well, great customer service, and they seem to have more choices than the other Aldis around. I really appreciate the gluten free and organic options they have. While it is not as many as some of the nearby alternative grocery stores, it's a discount grocery and you will pay about 50% less! If you have not been to an Aldis before, be sure to bring a quarter, and your own bags unless you don't mind paying the 4 cents for your own bags. read more

Aldi is not your typical grocery store. In fact it's a European export of a discount grocer. Don't expect to walk into a HEB or Kroger. What you can expect is a clean and well organized grocer with limited selection of products at deeply discounted prices. How do they do this? Low overhead. There are very few employees on site. Basically some cashiers. No baggers. Plan on bagging your own groceries. And plan on bringing your own bags or purchasing paper bags for $0.06 or reusable plastic bags for $0.10. Also, since they model is low overhead they expect you to return your own cart from the parking lot. The carts a locked to each other and can be unlocked for a quarter. When you return your cart you get a quarter back. Seems fair enough to me. Finally, they don't take credit cards or checks. Bring cash or a debit card to shop here. Additional services that you won't find at Aldi is a deli, a butcher department, and pharmacy. They do sell fresh meats at very affordable prices but they are prepackaged so you choose from what's available. You can't ask the butcher for specific cut or meat cut a certain way what you see is what you get. They offer fresh produce but it also is smaller selection than what you find at your typical grocer. They do sell a limited selection of OTC drugs and vitamins at deep discounts but no prescription service. Generally speaking there selection is smaller across the board but they do have some unique product selections that you might not find everywhere. Another upside is that it is not a chaotic experience. There aren't huge crowds and you can get in and out relatively quick with basic staple items. The limited service I got on my first and only visit was friendly and competent. In short give it a try if you want the deep discounts. Just plan on an additional stop at you typical grocer for the stuff you want that they simply don't have. read more

This new store has all your basic food items that you need: (Dairy, Fresh Produce. Meat, Wine, Snacks) at a fraction of what you would pay at similar grocery stores in the area. Today I got a bag of broccoli crowns (well over $2 a pound at name brand Grocery) for only $.99 for 2 pounds. The quality is great. The staff is nice. Remember to bring a quarter and your own bags (or you can buy some) and you're well on your way to lots of savings. They even took a coupon of theirs that expired a day ago and accepted it for us on our order. We left the store with 12 planned meals for only $40. Try Aldi out! It's a steal. read more

Went out of our way today, Saturday, for a May 5 - 10 advertised special ($.49/lb chicken thighs) and could not find the special on the shelf. When they say discount they are serious - no one is working there. There was just one sassy clerk at the checkout stand. I had to wait in the line for the clerk to check out two people before I could inquire about the advertised special. When I asked about the special, I was told, "Oh. That never came in." No apology, no offer of rain check. She said "It might come in tomorrow or maybe the next day." Like I am going to make a special trip to their crappy little store 3 times to save a few bucks on chicken! Won't be going back - I will stick to HEB or Kroger where they run a real business. Had my first visit to the Aldis everyone has been talking about. Facebook said it was going to give whole foods a run for its money. I disagree. Being gluten free it was nice to see some options but mostly it's a packaged food spot. Not much on organic veggies and if you are a label reader like me you will notice a lot of high fructose corn syrup. Deals I did find and liked. Gluten free frozen pancakes. They are really good, fruit Popsicles 2.00 for four great ingredients. Gluten free pretzels my kids love! I bought me some olives very disappointed. I count find an expiration date and all four hard were gross and old. I will stop by Aldis to grab Popsicles, pancakes and pretzels but that's really all they had for me. Check the expiration dates lots of things just seem old. read more

I'm giving the Aldi a 1 Star maybe a 1 and half. The the store was clean and nice when you first walk-in until you get to the produce, frozen and cooler section. The produce section is over stocked vegetables/fruits that look/are old, molded and rotting . You can tell they don't keep back stock of veggies or fruit in cooler. The lunch meat and cheese expire in about a week. Along with other stuff beside it. The freezers have frozen stuff not in right places and just throw in there. This Aldi has a lot of there frozen stuff markdown. The bakery section was unprofessionally labeled with expiration date they just used a Magic marker on prepackaged corporate baking good. The ice cream, coffee creamer and orange juice etc. are falling off the shelf in the cooler or freezer. As I walked by the rice section It looked like they just thrown in a big box that was torn from the top to the bottom. The garden section, kitchen section and other etc. there was a lot of stuff mark down. I don't see this Aldi store being open much long if changes are not made. Your better off going to H-E-B or Walmart or Whole Foods. (The outside of the of the building is very nice. read more

I have been an Aldi fan for a couple of years. Glad to have one close. I consistently save at least 25%, more on produce. It is European style, bag your own, quarter for a cart, refundable upon return. They appear to pick motivated and friendly employees and treat/pay them well read more
