My husband and I eat keto and we stopped in to grab some Rotisserie chickens for dinner while on a staycation. LOVED that the grab and go hot rotisserie chickens were right inside the doors! Quick stop here while visiting friends in the area. You can't go to a cookout empty handed so I came specifically for the delicious brisket queso HEB sells in the ready meals section of the store. Upon driving up, I noticed this store was by far smaller in size than any of my local HEBs in Pearland. I was worried they might not have what I was looking for, but I was wrong. They have everything, just in a smaller scale. It was hard to locate but luckily the staff was helpful. The rest of the items I came for were easy to find, but I did pick up a few wrong items because it was under the wrong labels. I'll take some of the blame for not looking at what I was picking up, but the stockers dropped the ball a little bit as well. Other than that, I was in and out in no time thanks to the self checkout, friendly staff and less square feet to cover to get all my items. HEB always coming in clutch! read more

I had a few minutes between obligations & thought I'd do a quick shop at the closest HEB. All I can say is that I've NEVER walked out of an HEB without at least a bag of produce. I can also say that NO HEB employee has ever just 'shrugged it off' when I pointed out rotting products. The level of not caring at this HEB curbside is beyond malpractice. Bananas - no bag. Sodas - thrown on top of produce, bagless. Eggs thrown in sideways with other products. Mini Melon - bagless. Nothing double bagged. I spent $197 to have the groceries thrown into a cart with absolutely no care. If I could give zero stars, I would. Obviously, management couldn't care less. I am not blaming the curbside folks. The blame lies with the Shoppers and management. The fellow that came out with the cart was asked to please get bags. He did so...twice. STAY AWAY. HORRIBLE location. They sold me spoiled fruit and looking at the reviews this store has a huge issue with spoiled food being sold. It took me days to get a hold of someone about a $5 spoiled melon and the manager Celeste still gave me issues saying I had to waste my time and gas to go into the store to get a refund. They can't refund me since I paid in store. Even though I have my reciept AND scanned the bar code as it asked online when I first emailed about the problem. That makes no sense but why not offer to mail the refund? No I have to go in. She even asked me the spoiled fruit from Saturday back in. Why would I hold on to spoiled fruit when I tried to get it resolved the day of but neither me nor customer service could reach anyone. If you purchase food here please check nothing is spoiled as they will not refund you unless you hold on to the spoiled food and bring it back in. read more

I used to be an avid H-E-B shopper, but the rudeness of the managers the sloppiness of the store. The fact that I really don't buy my fruits and vegetables from Mexico seems to be a problem for them. If I ask a question about it I get really ugly looks I'm sorry I don't eat certain food or drink water when going to vacation to Mexico so why the hell would I buy fruits and vegetables that are grown and water with a very water that they tell us not to drink and then they can't figure out why people are sick??!! But furthermore, if I say anything, then I'm a racist, which is such garbage. Everybody needs to just stop being so hyper sensitive.! But the thing I can't tell you is this I will not bag up my own groceries I won't put up with the rudeness! I'm sorry they sell the same. My wife and I have been shopping at H-E-B since moving here four years ago, NOT because they are so good, but because there is such a pathetic selection of grocery stores in this area. They make an effort to have comparable prices to Walmart, which doesn't really mean anything, because of fake inflation. Both stores are ridiculously overpriced. The same goes for Kroger. I went to Joe V's once, which is apparently owned by H-E-B, and from what I could see, it is where they send all of the stuff that is almost out of date, or inferior quality product that they couldn't sell at H-E-B. We have always had issues with H-E-B's produce. Many times we have purchased produce that looks good on the outside and then you cut it open and it's rotten in the middle. Or we get something that looks good and then it rots or gets moldy within two days. I can't tell you how much money we have wasted, throwing away their rotten produce when we go to use it. We do not buy a lot of processed foods mostly produce, meat and dairy. We shop weekly, for four people. Our weekly grocery bill averages between $350-$450 a week I find that offensive. Unfortunately, there's no place else to go, it would be the same at Walmart or Kroger. God I miss Winco. I also have to comment on their incredibly poor selection of what they consider high-end gourmet products. As well as the lack of just regular quality product selection. They have a food prep area where they prepare and sample different recipes that contain ingredients that they are trying to sell,, one time the lady that was preparing the samples asked me if I would like to try, I asked what it was and it was some pork preparation , jokingly I had asked if it was kosher, she said she didn't know. What is messed up about this is that H-E-B says in their hiring requirements that all of their food sampling people must have a degree in the culinary arts. How do you get a degree in the culinary arts and not know that there is no such thing as kosher pork . Basically we shop here because we have such a poor selection of grocery stores, but I could not in good conscience recommend them. read more

Being a Texas stable market, I gotta make sure I visit. Their freshly made tortillas are delicious! The bakery is a must stop. Freshly made pastries and cake are delicious. It's Halloween season so lots of pumpkins. They had these huge ones that are crazy big! The store as a whole is organized well and clean. I love H-E-B!!!! To be honest, since my move back to Dallas, I'm quite nostalgic of this beautiful market. This location in particular was one of my go-to grocery stores aside from Walmart and Trader Joe's. I know, I know...I can just go to Central Market, but it's not the same vibe. Central Market is where you take your out-of-town guest to, it's where you browse and taste a little, not a lot. It's not a weekly stop. I would love so badly for H-E-B to come to Dallas! Blooms by HEB saved my wedding! Nermin Aqel is a super hero!!! Unfortunately, I my florist canceled on me less than 3 weeks before my wedding and needless to say, I was in panic mode. We got a consult/quote from HEB truly as a last resort. We had two other florists companies that quoted us around 6-7 thousand dollars. Nermin immediately went to work on our quote and it was beautiful and a FRACTION of the price. She really was so reassuring when we felt a bit hopeless. We decided on HEB due to her confidence and expertise. The night before our wedding, we stopped by the store to pick up and Nermin and staff was still hard at work ensuring everything was so fresh and perfect. Instead of asking us to return later to pick up, she took it upon herself to HAND DELIVER the flowers to our house! She went above and beyond! The flowers were amazing and beyond all expectations! I'm from Chicago and immediately upon entering I was like whoa blast from the past this place reminds me of Cub Foods. The employees are friendly. well the one we talked to. We told her we wanted Texas beer and she started naming them off and telling us which ones were good. The a customer came chimed in and said everyone drank Corona. They make their own tortillas!!!! I have shopped this HEB since it opened, and no other. I have even been able to give up the hated trip to Walmart for various sundries that are the same price or less at HEB. However, more recently, I can no longer get wheat boillios, or my favorite salad dressing or your crunchy peanut butter with honey, among other things. This forces me to other stores for those things. Aside from that, there is no organization about stocking. Frequently, shelves are bare of standard items, particularly if you go on Sunday or Monday. I understand, because I have been involved with the grocery business, that those are busy times, but a good manager plans for those times. It is a dreary day, I did not want to make two stores for what I needed, but next time, I will just hit Walmart. Employees in general seem less than attentive to customer concerns than they once were. The bakery is nothing like it was just 6 months ago, and the bakery is a biggy for me. It is a shame, because this used to be the best store I had ever shopped. read more

Best place ever! Even though they didn't accept my application it's ok! Still love it! I'm a really big fan of there cheese that they cut into slices and put into packages! Not a huge cheese fan but this is where it's at! EXTRA SAD STORY(skip if you want!):: So I live right across from the HEB on 2920 and before anything was here built there was only chase and everything else to te left of it. There was no autozone, or anything in the lot of HEB. There was no red light on 2920 and the entrance to my neighborhood. I really miss it! Everything was new and look now were in the future! Before the red lights it was a 3 way intersection. Just 2920 and a stop sign in the neighborhood. And where the entrance is to heb and McDonald's was boarded up and signed "dead end" ahhh miss those days! But I don't have to buy crappy items at Kroger or Target anymore! This is by far the worst H-E-B I have ever visited. They have the most limited selection of stock items to pick from and their "fresh" fruits and vegetables expire way too soon. I have never been a fan of their customer service. People don't smile and never ask you if you need any help and when you do ask for help they always either tell you the wrong aisle or tell you they don't know. The straw that broke the camels back - I am in law enforcement and yesterday was my Lieutenant's and fellow Deputy's birthday. Our clerk ordered a cake from this H-E-B and had their titles written on it. She got the cake on Monday evening and was horrified - see attached photo. She didn't want to be a complainer so she took it home with a smile. When I saw this cake the next day I was floored. I refused to present and serve this to my supervisor and coworker. They deserved better. I drove our clerk/coworker back to this H-E-B (we work in downtown Houston) and asked to talk to the manager. She NEVER apologize and brushed it off of letting me know she's not the bakery manager. She went back to tell the bakery but the bakery manager never came out to apologize. They gave a few options including saying we could pick another cake and they would write the same lettering on it - and we would have to wait OVER AN HOUR....for SIMPLE LETTERING. This was at 830 on a Tuesday morning. I'm sorry. You made this big of a mistake and you can't fix it by writing a few words on a cake right quick? We opted to get a gift card and go elsewhere. She was all too happy to do this option and get rid of us. I can't help but feel someone saw the names and law enforcement titles and did not give us good service because they had a grudge. It happens quite often when people have personal issues with Police. We have been dealt this hand before but didn't think it would happen at an H-E-B. We get cakes monthly for functions or birthdays and never go to any other place than H-E-B (this is just the first time we have put a title on them making it apparent we are LE). Maybe we should look elsewhere? We took the gift card and went down the road to the 2920/Gosling location and wouldn't you know it, the decorator stopped what she was doing and wrote the names, happy birthday, and even a few balloons on the cake just as we needed and she did a beautiful job. It took approximately 1 1/2 minutes, NOT over an hour and it turned out amazing and the cake was delicious. Now we know which H-E-B to go to and which H-E-B to never step foot into again, for personal and professional needs. However, at this point I'm considering Kroger or anywhere other than H-E-B because I'm not sure if they even deserve for me to shop there at all anymore. We were told apparently anyone can just write on cakes - doesn't have to be a decorator if one isn't available. So you can pay for a cake, they can screw it up, and no one is responsible for the quality of the decorations. I dare you to look at this cake and tell me you would want to serve it at professional function or to your supervisor. Come on HEB, we expect more from you. read more

This heb is always going above and beyond to help me find what I need. Today I went to get a prescription filled and the pharmacist came and talked with me about the instructions for my medication. First was the HEB @ Stubner & Louetta, that store was nice but kind of far away. Then came the mega-store at the Vintage on 249, that store I still will travel to at times because others don't stock certain items. Then finally came a store near me @ 2920!!! Happy days because I no longer have to suffer with the crappy service and poor selection of Krogers. HEB's layout is nice and spacious, I can browse around the store without feeling like they are trying to cram every last square inch with product. The bakery area always smells of fresh baked bread (and they always have samples). The MEAT SELECTION is sooooooooo much better than any other grocery store! They don't pump their meat full of water unlike Kroger! I will never buy meat at Kroger again! One thing I have noticed is the meat selection at the Vintage store seems to be nicer than the one on 2920... One thing I really like too is their selection of sausages made in-house. They are usually the first items in the meat section. I love their polish sausage, but they also have like a cheese & jalapeno, andouille, poblano chicken, bratwurst, and a couple others. Throw those bad boys on the grill with some steaks or chicken and dinner just went from okay to super! Prices are about the same when I compare the weekly ads, but the one thing that sets HEB above other grocery stores is they always have PLENTY of people working the check-out isles! Now that I have all my groceries it's nice that I can get checked out fast and be on my way. I swear when I go to Kroger's they usually only have ONE person working, it's ridiculous! HEB is my grocery store of choice. All three locations in my area have great selections and customer service. read more

I often drive an extra 10 miles just to avoid the Kroger near my house and visit this HEB. Although this is not a Central Market type of store, you can find many of the items that they offer at one. The things I like about this store: 1. Shopper friendly - easily locate items you want 2. nice size produce section full of fresh fruits and vegetables 3. excellent seafood 4. good meat specials 5. samples everywhere- including wine :) 6. nice cheese section ( my wife likes that, not me) 7. For curbside this one is terrible. Always missing items. Always. I have to pick them up for my disabled parent. And every time items are missing. I can't keep going back for missing items. I barely have time as it is with crazy life / schedule. Check your curbside! I understand accidents happen but I've had about 11 items missing at once. This doesn't sound like an accident. Prob workers who don't care and know many customers don't check their groceries like my mom didn't at first. Terrible curbside. Recently a young girl who took the items to my trunk kept cursing. It's was the first time it's happened thankfully but had my child with me in my car and hearing a bunch of f words isn't pleasant. Ps. They've also given us many expired items. Several times. Expired. Tried having a manager girl and she half assed helped. Said to leave a note saying to not put expired or soon to expire items. My mom ordered 5 creamers. Remember I can't go often. Even though the hubs and I live closer to a different grocery store we drive just a smidge further to shop here instead. We love that it's large with great fresh selections, it's clean, and it doesn't take a whole afternoon to get thru the check out counter. We generally shop every day as we try to eat mostly fresh meats and veggies. This location has great selection of veggies right inside the front door. The fish counter dudes know us by name and the cheese guy went to the University of Wisconsin (ask him for a sample you will leave full)! Buy the fresh bread and tortillas instead of the packaged varieties, you'll save money! Also check out the bulk section - grind your own espresso for 1/2 the price of Starbucks and save money on peanut butter, honey and maple syrup! In the summer they set up a seasonal tent out front. Hit up the Hatch Green Chile roast (August I think). We bought like 5 lbs last year and they were delicious! All of the staff here have been very friendly. The only gripe I have with the store is the lack of the deli/salad counter like a few other stores have, and it gets crazy crowded at certain times of day! read more

This may be my first time doing some real grocery shopping here. This place is pretty great, compared to Kroger's or Randall's. There's a huge assortment of everything from hot meats to cold meats, to locally produced honeys to international cheeses.
