This review is for the Kroger gas station. Came here at the end of November to fill up the gas tank. Even though a lot of customers were getting gas, waiting for a pump didn't take long because there are many gas pumps at this Kroger gas station. It looked like all of the gas pumps were working. The store is dirty. You have to watch because they say an item is 4 for 10 but when you check out you pay full price for each item. Don't get me started on the delivery since they switched to insta cart. It really is awful...every single time. I quit having delivery. read more

Although I rarely shop at Kroger, I do pick up a prescription from this location every month. The Pharmacy has some of the most helpful and kind employees. I also like how I can order my prescription using the mobile app and receive a text when my order is ready. Never have to wait when I arrive for pick up. read more

This location sells rotten and expired chicken. We bought Kroger brand chicken legs on 7/4 with an expiration of 7/8 only to open them 7/6 and the smell cleared the kitchen. The chicken was gray! The cloth under the chicken was gelled over with blood stains. This is the second time we've bought rotten and expired chicken from this location. The meat department needs to pay attention to what they're selling as it's obvious they're changing expiration dates on their raw chicken items. read more

Kroger must be a terrible company to work for if this location is any indication. Not once have I ever come into contact with a friendly or helpful employee. That is, if you can find one. The shelves are never fully stocked, the store itself is dirty & prices are jacked up. Don't even get me started on the deli department. The women who work there must occupy the lowest level of Kroger hell since every single one I've ever dealt with is rude, dismissive & downright mean. RACIST!!! Went to Kroger today on Sam Riley in Smyrna, TN. They had chicken that was sitting out for an hour and 45 minutes. They lady in Deli...Pam told us it would be ready in 30 minutes. Meaning 12:15. Went back at 12:30 and she told me it want be out til 1:00. A Causican woman went and ask for the chicken and she gave her a box. I asked for the manger....Walter, Big Walt is what they call him. He tells me I don't know why she wouldn't give it to you. He ask her and she says, it don't go out til 1:00. But the Causican lady got hers before 1:00. So we go back and forth and another African American lady walks by and said they did me the same way. Big Walt standing there NOT SAYING A WORD! We were on vacation and visiting family in Indiana. I was so gals to see a Kroger store again. We moved to Florida several years ago and there is NO Kroger in Florida. I just like the value and quality of their products, especially their own spaghetti sauce. It's so thick you have to start it with a spoon! I've been going to this Kroger for a few years now and I never posted a review until now. For me using the Kroger Clicklist was a total game changer! I love being able to pick up my groceries without even getting out of my car! MOMS- It's a Great feature to prevent your kids from going in the store with you and grabbing things and begging you to buy them. this is a very nice Kroger compared to the one down there by the hood that was once nice the old one off of Murfreesboro Road in LaVergne.. this one's still 24 hours for the most part all the stuff is rotated fresh and good only once in a blue moon you might find a few expired things they do a very good job the store manager that runs this one is a very nice guy does good job hiring good employees for the most part. to the deli are some of the nicest professional work ethic people you could want to meet they have working at this one.. read more

I purposefully waited until this morning to write this letter hoping my anger would have dissipated. It hasn't so I'm proceeding. I patronize Kroger approximately 5 times per week, spending anywhere from $800-$1,000 per month in your establishment. That's a lot of money for one person. I cook a lot... sharing with friends and doing some small catering. I shop at all times of the day and night. It's always a trade-off. If I go late at night, there's never a crowd but I have to contend with pallets of food blocking things in the aisle and then having to suffer through the limited bagging space of the self-check-out. If I go at any time during the day, I have to put up with long lines at the checkout. It's this latter complaint I'm addressing. I understand the Sam Ridley Kroger is under new management. The first week, things were great... completely stocked shelves, everything clean, courteous employees and even a men's bathroom that wasn't closed for one reason or another. However, management has become slack. I came to Kroger this week, actually three nights in a row, spending close to $200 each night. All three nights, there were only three check-out stands working aside from the self-help area. EVERYHING was backed up with lines of people into the aisles at approximately 7 p.m.! I've never counted the number of check-out stands in your store but aside from the self-check which was backed up into the cosmetics aisle, there were only THREE in operation with people standing behind full carts waiting to be serviced. I'm 63 years old and I've only known of one grocery store (in my entire life) closing down and that was in my home town in Arkansas where a Wal-Mart Super Center came in and forced the closing. I doubt that is likely to happen in Smyrna. But I wish someone in management would explain to me why additional check-out stands can't be opened when there are long lines of people... people wondering why they aren't shopping at your competitor. I write a blog and have quite a large following, both regionally and nationally. I frequently write about my catering and its occasional frustrations. I'd hate to begin blogging about my "shopping frustrations!" I have always been loyal to Kroger... my whole family has, since I was a small boy. Both of my brothers worked at Kroger while in high school and college and even when Wal-Mart DID come into town and Kroger was struggling to stay in business, we patronized them, trying to maintain that loyalty. However, if something is NOT done about the "wait" at the Sam Ridley Kroger I'll have to transfer my patronage to Publix and advise all my readers to do so as well. read more

All Krogers are not created equal. The one in Goodlettsville by my last apartment was meh. A grocery store. Obviously nothing to write home about. HOWEVER, once I moved to Smyrna my Kroger got seriously upgraded. This was recently remodeled (within the last year or so) and so it's new, fresh, and a great place to shop. This location has an olive bar (say what?) with like 15 types of olives and other marinated items like mushrooms and red bell peppers. They also have a Boar's Head sandwich station by the deli. They will hand slice and make your sandwich to order. Excellent! They also have a pretty good soup/salad bar that's decently priced. The one at Whole Foods is obviously more extensive (and more expensive) but this will definitely do in a pinch when I don't feel like cooking. Great location! read more

Hard to beat the outstanding customer service here at our local Kroger. All of the employees are sooo nice! There is a nice selection of organic products, which are my favorites. This visit all of the produce appeared to be fresh. They are continually checking and removing any that are not fresh. The Deli has a very nice selection of meats and cheeses. Significant savings can be had by taking advantage of the weekly specials. There are also food bars available with a nice selection. One can also have a fresh plate or sandwich made. read more

As Kroger stores go, this is one of the nicest ones in the area. It's always clean and the employees are friendly. This store has an excellent deli with items you just don't see in other local stores. One thing that I love about this store is the olive bar. Most anything you can think of with olives or olive oil is on this bar! I especially love the caprese salad from the bar. read more

I've only been inside this Kroger once or twice, I do however use the gas station quite often. The gas prices here are usually the lowest in the area. I live in Nashville but work in the Smyrna area and purchase my gas here. It's interesting to see how much lower the gas prices here are even compared to the Shell that is right off the 24 exit. Using the Kroger Plus card number, you'll save 3 cents, which will get the price below the Home Depot price, usually. My only complaint about this Kroger Gas station is they sometimes have people set up with a table and a tent. These people are sometimes selling some kind of engine cleaner to "increase gas mileage and engine performance". Other times they're trying to sell a paint cleaner and will offer to show you on your car. I understand they're trying to sell stuff, but they can be quite pushy. I wish they wouldn't solicit at the pumps. read more

Im new to the area and went to Kroger by recommendation of people near my apartment, and because Publix is not an option as they are as high as all hell for their food. Are they insane? I am extremely disappointed and mortified with the customer service or lack there of at this pharmacy over the years they have become more and more subpar the employees are rude and unapologetic for their rude behavior I had a prescription called in for my month old granddaughter just a simple ointment for her eye I was told it would take 25 min I gave the clerk my phone number just in case I left for 35 mins and came back and was told they hadn't filled the prescription because they had to contact the doctor for instructions to this I asked why didn't they call me to let me know and I could have saved myself a trip of driving back they were rude and wanted me continue driving around in circles wasting my gas well I've been waiting now an hour 1/2 and counting they don't value their loyal customers steer clear we're looking for a new pharmacy read more

I love our Kroger on Sam Ridley! I loved it before the remodel, and I love it even more now! I rarely go there and can't find what I'm looking for. Their pharmacy is great too! Very helpful cashiers, techs and Pharmacists. The parking lot can be quite crowded, and especially since the expansion is a little precarious, but that just goes to show how popular it is. There is a Publix right next door and Kroger is always busier! Love the discounts on gas as well. I do wish they would carry Kraft French Onion Dip again though... Sometimes ya just get a cravi'n! While the prices are reasonable, you will lay by waiting a good while to get your prescription. Every time. I thought maybe the drive through would be quicker. There were three cars ahead of me. I sat in ljne almost thirty minutes. If someone had not been behind me, I would have parked and gone in. Also my prescription was for two bottles of eye drops. They argued and said it was for one 2.5 ml bottle. I had to get a new prescription from my doctor who thought that was crazy that plainly said two BOTTLES next to quantity. I think I'd rather pay a little more to get good customer service elsewhere. read more

Just a quick note regarding the current promotion on gift cards and fuel points. I purchased a GC for a variable amount, scanned my kroger and on my way out noticed fuel points were not applied. So I go to the service desk and I'm told only cards with fixed amounts apply to fuel points. This is not posted anywhere I can see. So I request a refund so I can get cards with fixed amounts. I came to this kroger location twice now to fill my daughter's perscription and twice they were very unproffesional. The pharmacist is very rude and passive aggressive. Very long wait time and when they have a problem they don't call you and let you know. And you end up have to wait another 30 mins or hr. Instead having customer service they have go back in line behind other vehicles I had to wait 2 hrs the fist time now an HR and 20 mins for them to get the fill the perscription. By far the best grocery store in Smyrna and Middle Tennessee. The prices are reasonable and very clean. The butcher shop and deli are top notch. The salad bar and sushi is fantastic. I've been a Kroger customer since I began doing my own shopping at 18. I've tried all of the other grocery stores and always come back to Kroger. Best prices overall. Great customer service. Last week I was looking around the floral department for preservatives to add to the water...no one was working there. An employee who I believe was on his way outside to retrieve shopping carts noticed I needed help, came over to inquire and then he went behind the counter and got a package for me. I just wish I'd caught his name tag to let his manager know he went beyond and above the norm. I always like the gas points which normally knocks off .30/gallon on my gas prices. While the renovations a couple of years ago were a pain in the butt, the improvements are now appreciated. I have shopped at this store for decades. The new remodel was welcomed but they need to do something to improve the parking and traffic flow. My main concern is the meat department that continues to hide old hamburger meat inside the fresh hamburger meat to get rid of it. I just bought several packs of freshly ground sirloin at the meat counter only to come home and find old brown meat hidden in the center of it. read more
