I started to shop regularly at this Kroger and I can see why it has poor online reviews. I normally have very little interaction w/ employees at a grocery store, but the 2 encounters I had recently solidify why have try not to interact w/ employees. 1) The only person behind the Customer Service desk was helping someone and then walked away. She never said 1 word to anyone waiting in line and when she came back 10 min later...it was like next. No reason why she left so long or apology for waiting. And several employees walked behind the counter and never said a word either. 2) At the hot plate area, I saw that the fried chicken was almost out. I asked the lady will there be any more soon and she said No. And then looked at me w/ the anything else look. Then I ask she how often does the fried chicken comes out....she said 11 and 2. And if the chicken is sold out, it's just out....they ain't making any more. I've been shopping at Kroger's in Orlando, FL and Fry's in Chandler, AZ for decades and they always make a new batch when they're out of chicken/low when you ask them. I never had anyone refuse me or anyone else when asking they to make new batch. I'm not sure if the attitude trickle down from upper management to employee, but employees needs to have better attitude if you want customers to come back. Shopping is somewhat limited in Celina, but once more grocery stores enter the market (like Tom Thumb, Market Street and HEB), I can see people leave this Kroger in a heartbeat. I love Kroger but I have to give this one 1 Star because of Jane in customer service. She is in customer service and is by far the the most rude person in customer service I have ever met. I didn't want to write a a review on one experience but I have had several encounters with her and she is always rude. She was also rude to the guy standing in line behind me and my husband went grocery shopping on a separate occasion and she was rude to him. I don't expect people to be over the top nice but please do your job. This is the second time I have to return something she tells me it cannot be done. Strangely when I ask for help from someone else they are able to return what Jane told me was not returnable. My feed back is do not lie to me and tell me produce cannot be returned and that the manager is in the back and it's going to take him over an hour to talk to. Or that I cannot return something that was purchased with Instacart. Don't lash out on your customers because they say hello. Or sit there and talk bad about me to your other employees!! I'm tired of getting bullied at a grocery store. Let's be kind to one another! Lying to customers and talking bad about them when they can clearly hear you is by far unacceptable. This store has a serious mgmt problem; especially related to the pickup function. I've been waiting (along with at least 30+ other vehicles) for over 1.5 hrs... there are only 2 kids with zero mgmt support. This failure is 100% on mgmt (Pickup, Store, GM) for not staffing, scheduling, and helping with logistics, workflow, and process improvement. Ok, talked to Alex (Pickup Sup) and feel bad for them... when employees no show and order flow is maxxed, truck was 2 hrs late, this is the outcome. Hang in there kid. read more

I finally replaced all of the groceries I bought at Kroger for the HEB grocery store! Yippieeeeeeeee! Kroger is the most expensive grocery store in North Dallas (Frisco and Proper) and the help is usually no help at all. Their shelves are usually poorly stocked. Their meat, fish and produce most the time is paltry at best. Do yourself and pocket book a favor .... Shop at HEB. The employees are very helpful. And check out is a breeze. HEB's meat and fish is always fresh and tasty. If you can, shop at off hours because at peak times parking may be hard to find. HEB's parking lot is huge and you eventually find parking. Be patient.... It's worth it! The HEB stores are usually very busy. They are busy because they offer value and quality. I recommend you try it out.... You won't be disappointed! read more

We did NOT order water. We just did a pick up and our bags have 2-3 cups of water in each bag. Basically the ASSistant managers response was well that's going to happen when it rains. This amount of water doesn't get into bags when it's drizzling outside. Our groceries were likely left outside in the rain for who knows how long. All of the packaging is soggy as if it's been sitting in water for hours. HEB & Market Street customer service is 100x better and better selection. read more

First, it is a grocery store so it has food and a fair selection. That is all the positive. When you walk in you are greeted with dirt, filthy shopping carts, and you have to walk through monitor gates so I am assuming theft is a major issue here which is a surprise due to the area it is in. That is fine, however, the store isn't very clean. The layout over time of become more convoluted and staff is sparse. You will need to prepare yourself to use self-checkout no matter if you have 1 item or 50. They were sold out of many items and produce was already starting to turn. The meats were poor quality and the chicken purchased was already slimy and close to turning when opened that night. The price point is also higher than other local groceries. My last trip to Kroger was $97 after coupons. When compared to other locations in the area it would have been between 5-20 dollars cheaper to visit those stores and get the same or better quality items. If you need a couple of items this will get it done but Brookshire's in Celina, HEB or Market Street in Frisco will get you better quality food and customer service for the same or cheaper price. read more

She knows you're there but pretends like she doesn't see you. When you step up to ask for help, she will ask you to wait. I'm like what kind of customer service is this? I'm not sure how she gets the job. She is not only rude to people but also she acts like she hates you. I have had bad experience with her for 2 times. When I tried to return something she wouldn't take my return. She will lie or come up with something to not help you. She saw me there waiting for her help but she ignored me and did something unnecessary like she was busy to not help me. I said excuse me can you help me? She said you need to wait. Then she took time with her thing to make me wait. How can a person act like this? I think it's a very evil thing to do. It's very sad to see someone like her. This morning I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with an Instacart delivery driver for Kroger's. Her name was Patricia. She was extremely rude. She dropped my items or basically threw them on the floor broke two cases of soda that started spraying all over my front door and porch I am partially disabled, and work from home, and I had to put myself on a early break to clean up my entire porch and door from the soda that burst. When she arrived. She knocked on the door and asked me do I have a cart for my groceries which I've never been asked before. She got upset and mumbled as she walked away to get my groceries that my apartment was to far in the back. Next I heard a loud sound which was her throwing and dropping my groceries down negligently. She broke the cases of soda which bursted and sprayed and leaked all over my front door and porch. I advised her that I'm not taking the damage items to which she replied "I'm not putting that in my in my car and that was my responsibility to go in the app and ask for a refund. I am partially which is why I unfortunately had to use Instacart for for my groceries. I've never experienced someone so rude and disrespectful for a job that they chose and I will never be using Instacart again, the woman's name is Patricia D and I will never forget what I experienced. First and foremost, this is a Marketplace store, so it's a larger store that also serves a huge area of Prosper. It's always, always busy and yet they only have one cashier ever working there. It's literally come to the point where I feel like I'm best friends with Amy because she's the ONLY cashier I ever see. I wonder if she ever gets a day off because no matter what day or time of the week I go shopping, she's there all alone and ALWAYS with a smile. No complaints. Amy is a gem and THE best thing about Kroger Prosper Trails. This morning there were 10 people with full carts in front of me, all patiently waiting. There are two self-checkout sections but only one was working. Self-checkout is great if you have a handful of items but not when you're shopping for a large family once a week. After all everything is bigger and better in Texas right? Right! Now carrying on with my experience at this specific Yet not added to the Yelp community store! Impressive location! I recall when we put an offer at a home near the Gold course back in 2014, that they were having big talk about a future Kroger etc! Well finally 4months ago this became a reality! These property once belonged to one of the Formers Dallas Cowboy's "Defensive Back to be exact" where he had a costumed build ESTATE! (1999) I knew before I confirmed my curiosity that this was where his PEARLY GATES began! So we took a tour. The house is still standing (too unique I may add, not my cup of tea but it still stands)! I'm all scattered I I do apologize. The isles are smaller and the vegan selection is way too small but I do hope they step up their game bc Wholefoods and Sprouts are still my best friends. The ladies restrooms need trash cabs inside the stalls and also a place for feminine care. Other than that they are doing quite well. I mean, it's our local grocery store soo not a lot of choices anyway? This Kroger doesn't really try too hard to please their customers. There are a few diamonds in the staff here that will go above and beyond for you but not many. DO NOT buy Kroger brand anything...especially the milk because it expires BEFORE the expiration date. The fresh yeast had mold on it so I don't know if Kroger corporate is trying to cut corners or they're not storing things properly?...but my best advice is to choose just about anything besides Kroger brand perishables. I found a broken bbq bottle near the dog food aisle one day and had to go to 3 employees to find someone to help. First one said she didn't have comms so "find someone else", just like that, second guy said "if I cared enough about my job I'd do it" and last one is the guy that's always there and amazing and he was on it in a flash. The new Starbucks they just put in is super nice tho. All in all I mean of course I will still go here...only nearby choice and they know it. I wish companies still had the drive to care about their customers like Brookshire's still does. read more

I came to kroger to get some ballloon 3 at first then as the air machine wasn't working, a worker that was a little bigger than most we had asked if she can blow up another balloon and she did shoulder strung and rolled her eyes and leaned her head back giving attitude for what doing her job? like it was disrespectful. Still loving this place. Always have what I need, well, almost always. The deli staff is friendly and I love grabbing the fried chicken for a decadent Friday night treat. I am so disappointed how the service at Krogers in Prosper has become. This is the store on the corner of Prosper Trail and Preston Road. When we first moved to Texas from CA we were so impressed with the store, its service, the brands it carried, etc. But this has now morphed into a terrible store, without the broad set of brands (mostly Kroger brands now), and I hate to say the crappiest service we have ever experienced. For example, this morning I (a 73 year old man with some disabilities) make a quick trip to the store to pick up a few things. No checkers available. self check only , but at the other end of the check out areas the light was on but they wouldn't let us use the machines. Back to the other end for check out. The machine wasn't working right and the Kroger person assigned to that area blamed me for holding things up. I had to scan my load, then pack my load, then listen to a tired middle aged woman tell me to hurry up. No more. We prefer Tom Thumb and Market Street who unfortunately have been bought out by Kroger. How long will it be until they ruin those stores. Perhaps the competition coming from the new Costco, the new HEB and the new Trader Joes will wake up Kroger to realize they are not doing us a favor here in Prosper. So disappointing. How is it that at Market Street and Tom Thumb they essentially fight among themselves to serve us, at the check out line, in bagging, and helping to the car. Worse management ever! Can't even explain how uneducated and careless the manage is. I came to visit my sister from out of state. I've made 4 trips to the grocery and had issues with rude staff and needed help, asked for manager kindly & manager came and whispered to employee then left me waiting for 25 min. Unreal. Usually, we wait 20-30 minutes in line (not including how long it takes to complete the self checkout process). Today, it took nearly 50 minutes to the complete check out process! Truly remarkable how bad this store is. 50/50 chance of getting a cart when walking in and not having to go back to parking lot. Shelves continually not stocked, overwhelmed staff-the ones that care to be there at least. always long checkout-almost only option is self checkout and the one staff member covering 6-8 machines that non-stop malfunction is never enough. Lucky to get thru checkout with only 2 calls for help. I live 1mi from store and have gone 1-3 times a week since opening. I am done, Walmart or Brookshires from now on until HEB opens. read more

I found some I really liked and wanted but was concerned about a few flowers that were starting to look a little wilted so I asked Theresa if there was any way we could switch those out. Huge Kroger that sells literally everything!! This isn't my normal grocery store although I do stop by here often. Flowers are very gorgeous - sometimes you can snag some marked down arrangements. They also have a Starbucks and a shoe section. Clothes, shoes, and accessories are overpriced and of low quality. Big selection of toys with good brands. Clearance section is located in the back left near the seasonal items. Store does mark down there items quite often. Lots of staff members here to help. Largest grocery store besides Walmart here. Still waiting for a Sprouts or Traders Joe's to open up. Cute little horse ride for kids to ride on at a penny after you check out - my kid loves it. read more

So frustrating to shop here. I've been shopping here for 3 years and I'm done with it. Lines are always 4-6 people deep. Serious lack of urgency w the checkers even with their line 5 people deep. They need to cut out the chitchat and get through the line of customers that are getting fed up with them standing around, talking. No baggers. Saturday afternoon and 1 person working the deli counter. That line was 5 people deep and the self service area for deli meat was empty. I can understand short staffed but when the staff you do have shows no concern or urgency to get customers through the line, it's unacceptable. I'll go to McKinney or Frisco just to avoid the frustration. read more

I completed an online pickup order. When I arrived to get my items, over half my order was missing. Of course I didn't notice this until I had already gotten home. I'm ok with a few things missing but how do you run out of milk and pasta sauce? I went back to the store to retrieve my items and low and behold, the exact milk and pasta sauce I bought was there. I will also say, I've never had a bad experience at Kroger with customer service until I visited this one.
