I have mixed feelings about this Kroger. First I will say that I am a big fan of the Kroger chain. They always have what I am looking for and the brands I am familiar with. If you want a review on the Kroger chain look at my other Kroger review. This review is just for this location. Arriving at this location will immediately tell you they stay super busy! The parking was a mess to find a spot. There was a semi truck taking up a lot of the room of this already crowded location. When you do find your spot you need to watch out for the loose roaming carts that love to bump and scratch your car. The day that I visited must have been during the cart collectors vacation. Entering the building there were no carts available so I had to make a u-turn back to the lot to grab a cart. While roaming down the aisle I did notice a bunch of items randomly out of place. None making much sense. Bread on top of the spaghetti boxes, bag of oranges in between the chips. This kind of randomness. When I did have my 16-18 items I attempted to use the self checkout. However, there were only 3 working and the line was taking way too long. I decided to jump in the express checkout. I know, I know! I am over the 15 items for the express lane but I got tired of waiting on self checkout. I am guessing because they were busy all the baggers were not available so I had to bag up my own items. Not that big of a deal but if I had a large cart of items this might have been frustrating. Not sure why this location is missing the mark but something here needs to be looked at. Either staffing or management and maybe even both. I will give this Kroger location another try only because of the location but I doubt it would replace my normal Kroger. read more

I started to load my items onto the revolving belt, and the cashier walked away. ????? I was stunned, and tried to get the attention of what appeared to be a manager standing about ten feet away. She ignored me, but then the cashier reappeared near her. He waved his arms at me "signaling" that he knew I was there. Okay????? So I waited, and he finally returned. I walked over to where we pay - directly in front of the cashier. He had yet to ring up any of my items, he was busy TEXTING ON HIS CELL PHONE. He finally stopped, put his phone away and THEN rang my (ten or so) items up. I have never in my life experienced anything like this! Very bizarre. Needless to say, I won't be returning to this grocery store. read more

Everyone is just so rude at this location (both staff & customers) it's just really unpleasant. Lots of piles of stock just left in the ground every time I have been there. The layout is t great-very narrow walking patches. I don't get it, I have never really experienced "bad" Kroger's anywhere else I have lived but it seems like the locations around this area are just bad. This is not my typical location but I have been here a handful of times and it's never good. I can't wait to move. read more

Manager of the store is very rude and nasty. I tried to return several items and the customer service person had to call him for an override. He said the items were discontinued and not in their system so he was not going to take them. I had my receipts for all items and he said to go to those stores and return it there. He also said it's over 30 days which I told him it was not tomorrow makes 30 days which is why I am trying to return it today. It is not my problem the items are discontinued. I should be able to return the items to any Kroger with my receipt. read more

This store is just nasty. Everything seems dirty and disgusting. Pharmacy people unhelpful. Had a prescription called in by urgent care and now Kroger pharmacy doesn't take my insurance. Has to pay out of pocket. If you don't accept the insurance then let someone know so I can get the prescription sent to someone who can handle it.l beforehand. By the way - this is a good insurance provider that they have taken in the past. Used the men's restroom when I was there. Totally disgusting. Smells like urine- floor wet and not because it's been mopped. Needs a good cleaning and a bunch of bleach. If the bathroom where people wash their hands is this disgusting then not a chance I am buying my groceries here read more

This Kroger anchors a shopping center at the corner of Thornton Road and Maxham Road in Lithia Springs. It features a fuel center as well. This location is an older generation Kroger and not only shows it's age in condition, but also offerings. They feature the hot bar, deli and bakery...but not the sushi bar, cheese island or a well equipped sandwich bar. Additionally, the shelves had a lot of empty spots throughout the store. Condition wise, this Kroger, on the inside and out needs some help. The floors are old, stained and chipped throughout, same with the ceiling. Signage is faded and front end is equally worn. Fuel center showed the same age. And those bathrooms... Service was non-existent. I encountered a few folks on my short trip in, but none spoke. I had to get the self check cashier to come over to clear my screen and even then she did not speak. Overall, not a super great representation of Kroger. I'd happily drive a few more miles to hit the ones in Mableton/Smyrna. read more

If you want to find the best Kroger in the neighborhood, keep looking because this IS NOT it. From the old, loud, screeching carts, to the store always being out of inventory, this Kroger is a hot mess. Some of the staff are friendly, but the ones at self check out in particular are not the nicest. I don't think they get the best treatment as employees either so that may be half of why they're always moody. There also seems to be a disconnect with store managers and the rest of the employees on the floor (from what I've seen). Something is always wrong with two or more of the self check-out kiosks (there are six total), and the food doesn't seem the freshest. I always find issue with their produce. As another user said, this Kroger badly needs to updated. They don't have a great hot bar and are missing many features that newer grocery stores have. I will say that the prices are comparably low for food items, but you get what you pay for. There used to be a Bank of America in the store but it was completely removed. I added an additional star because the store surprisingly has a pretty good nondairy selection and I can usually find keto items here. Emphasis on surprisingly. If you're looking for a step up, I'd probably recommend going to a different neighborhood grocer. read more

Just don't go here go anywhere for groceries but not here bad service bad groceries just bad. I have been to this store three times in last 18 hours and that's only because I came at 6 pm was back at 7 pm and now again at 12 the next afternoon. First time they didn't put a bag in my cart next time when I went to open creamer it had a box cut on the side that didn't leak until I went to push down to open the container then had to stand in line 30 minutes to return due to only one worker at customer service and the store is dirty. This store is absolutely ridiculous. I couldn't find everything because some shelves were empty, there were no price tags on certain things especially where the margarine is being stored. I had to ask one of the staff for the price of frozen chicken wings and the bag of frozen crab legs, shrimps, corn on a cobs and potatoes. Some of the items were at the frozen section were placed on the wrong shelf which is why I couldn't find the price for a bag of frozen chicken wings. Also there were boxes left unattended in one of the aisles, there were gnats flying and crawling all over the fruits at the produce section, and there were bags of salad lettuce that looks pretty old and need to be thrown away. read more

Okay so I was reminded why I don't come here. The Kroger on Thornton rd is not as tidy or as big as the Kroger that I usually shop at. I wish I had time for pics but I just wanted to leave. The store was rather crowded, possibly because it was a Sat. The customers inside of the store were so rude! Apparently excuse me isn't a thing anymore. It was difficult maneuvering through their isles. It didn't help because most of the shoppers were not pleasant. Their isles seemed stocked but messy so I'm not sure what all of the fuss was about. The checkout lines were horrendous. Every line was long and they needed more cashiers. My cashier greeted me but she was on her phone talking to another employee the entire time. She checked me out and thanked me for my purchase. read more

Again I say that this location is always sooooo crowded. Even parking can be a difficult task. I had stopped coming here not because it's crowded but because I almost feel like I am at the Cleveland Avenue Kroger (I'm so Hood!). I don't like being approached to buy DVD's, Peanut Brittle, Shoes, Socks, IPad's, IPhones or Meat every time I am headed into the grocery store. Apparently I was not the only one with this feeling and now over the past couple of months I have noticed less "Soliciting" in the parking lot. Not that $30 isn't bad for a pair of Jordan, but I don't wear Jordan so I would like to just shop in peace. They still have great Managers at this location. I do wonder though why they start stocking at 7 AM instead of 12 AM. But that's neither here nor there! Kudos for this location impressing me after thinking it had gone waaaaaay down to the dumps! It's no good to come to your neighborhood grocery store to find NO CARTS!!!!. I walked around and picked up what I could plus asked an employee to contact management. I waited for more than 20 mins to still not find a shopping cart. It's sad that management doesn't care that Kroger lost money because I watched several people either leave out of sheer frustration or like me....got 3 items verses the biggie full that I came with my shopping list to buy. I love Kroger! I am a loyal Kroger plus card member, and I typically even buy my gas at Kroger. They have great prices and most locations have great customer service. However, this location is lacking in the latter. I have never had such terrible customer service as I did from manager Matthew Cuyler. He was arrogant, rude, and dismissive. My husband and I were headed to dinner to celebrate my birthday and stopped to fill our gas tank. There was a discrepancy on the gift card we used, and even after pulling up the transaction history which proved our side, he told us there was nothing he could do. I still love Kroger and their corporate customer service is always top notch, but I will not be visiting this location any more. I will drive the extra 10 minutes to Brownsville Road. I recommend you do the same. read more

I both love and hate this store. It's my regular grocery source, with good prices and always well-stocked. However, the people who I share this store with, well, they leave a lot to be desired. At various time I've confused the aisles of this store for a rap video, a third-world country, and a trailer-park family reunion, and sometimes all three in a single visit. It isn't the store's fault it attracts the worst of the neighborhood, though; there just aren't really any other grocery stores in the immediate area, and the area is perpetually going down hill. Other than the sundry ne'er-do-wells and classless jerks that shop here, it's a very good store. The employees are great during the regular daylight hours, but quickly turn bored and surly after midnight, so expect to be generally ignored and to use the self-checkout. Despite its faults, it's better than any other grocer in Lithia Springs. And I'll keep going there while attempting to accept my fellow shoppers for entertainment value! read more

I have been to a lot of Krogs in my day, and this one ranks pretty highly. It's my regular spot for grocery shopping, which means I hit it up roughly 1-2 times a month. The staff are always nice - although I'll admit, I haven't interacted with many, because I've never run into a problem of finding something I'm looking for. Plus they have a Bank of America inside. Tip: Do not, I repeat do not, shop there without getting that dumb little Kroger Plus card - you need it! My boyfriend hunts through the meat section and finds AMAZING deals on weekday mornings (yes, I realize this is when the rest of the world doesn't have time to go shopping - but weekend mornings are pretty good, too). Once, he forgot to grab the meat he purchased from the spinning rack of bags (minus a point for the staffer checking us out). But, when I returned with my receipt and waited in line for Customer Service, she told me I could go pick out something new to replace the food we paid for but didn't receive. That's cool. Plus two points. They have a big selection of wines and beers. They always have great specials on popular items, and they do the '10 items for $10' and 'buy 5 of these and get $10 off,' and their website lets you custom collect coupons and put them directly onto your Plus card so when you swipe it, they automatically apply. AND who can beat 10 cents off each gallon of gas you pump at a Krog station every time you spend $100 on food each month? I laughingly agree with Jack M.'s review that the clientele can sometimes leave a bit to be desired, but hey, you're shopping on Thornton Road (a veritable strip mall) and if you don't like it, there IS a Publix about 10 miles away (intersection of Lee Rd. and Hwy. 92). read more

Let me start off by saying that I frequently shop at Kroger so I am not against Kroger as a chain but the customer service at this Kroger is horrible and the store is frequently a mess. It starts in the parking lot. There's trash and carts everywhere. The store is in disarray. There are items just tossed around throughout the store and I never see staff putting the items in the right places or tossing them out other than the dairy section. The store is dusty, sticky, nasty. I beverage section as I have seem in other stores that way the customer doesn't waste their time shopping for items and then not be able to complete their dish. The trip was a waste of my time if I can't complete what I'm attempting to make. He offered no apology or anything to make up for the inconvenience. I will not shop here again and advise others to avoid this store at all costs. read more

I have been renting Rug Doctors from Krogers for years. I went this morning 5/27/19 to rent one. Worst experience I have ever had at any Krogers! Patricia made it apparent that my business was not appreciate. It was an awful experience. She didn't acknowledge that I was standing in line.....speaking inaudibly. I couldn't figure out what was going on! I hadn't spoken to her or anything. I was just standing in line waiting until the service desk was open. Maybe that is what caused her discontent....because I was early???? I would not recommend anyone to go to this store based on how Patricia treated me this morning! The last time I was at that location. I had to check myself out with over 200 dollars worth of groceries. No check out lanes were open. It was the middle of the morning. Really? Not to mention I got hit up to buy all kinds of bootleg crap in the parking lot. Not coming here again. The only reason this didn't get a one star rating was because the place was clean and well stocked. The people on the floor were very nice and helpful. Ok so, I just moved out here like 2 weeks ago, so Kroger and Walmart, are my go to stores for market shopping. Not really impressed with the store it's just really basic. Im from the suburbs of New York so I really miss my stop n shops and shop rites. I feel like there are some things missing, like a large whole food isle and more options in the international isle. Best krogers ! clean, organized and polite helpful staff

This is the worse Kroger that I have ever visited. I stopped to shop at this Kroger because I had just left the tire shop and could not find a nearby Publix. The stock clerk that I encountered was of the highest level of rudeness, inconsideration and unprofessionalism, Mr. Kenneth___\\\\\. He did not seem to care or like his job at Kroger. He practically pushed me out of the way, to stack "one" yogurt that fell from the three tiered stack in the Kroger's brand yogurt section. I mentioned to him that he was rude and he could have excused himself or even waited for me to finish selecting my yogurts. He explained that they wanted him to stack stuff right away when they saw something out of place. I told him that I did not think that they meant for him to interfere with shoppers or intimidate the shoppers, to complete that task. He went on complaining about what they didn't pay him enough to do. I told him that if he did not like his job, then he should just quit and not take his frustrations out on the innocent shoppers. He stated, "Quit and do what?" I stated, "maybe attend college or find a job that you truly enjoy." He ranted on about how college was bogus and how college graduates made less money. He said that he worked two jobs and made $70,000 per year. He finally walked away mumbling something under his breath. I continued to search for my favorite yogurt flavors; and consequently other yogurts had tumbled on this small Kroger brand yogurt shelf. Then I decided to add a few more to the slightly shuffled shelf. I thought, well, now he has more than one yogurt to re-stack. Lol. I later saw the assistant manager, Mr. Weaver to whom I explained the entire ordeal to, including my contribution to the yogurt shuffle. He apologized and gave me a gift card which I later discovered was only valued at $10.00. Ten dollars is not worth going back to this Kroger or any other Kroger. However, I will re-gift it to an under-appreciated and under-valued Kroger customer. I'm a Publix's shopper anyway. Truly there is a noticeable difference between Kroger and Publix as to their customer service, helpfulness and professionalism. I shop where shopping is always a pleasure and I'm treated like a real valued customer. read more
