This Kroger, which anchors the Northlake Village complex, is one of my favorite locations to visit in Nashville. It has undergone renovation and updates in the last few years, and since, the store keeps it together and makes for a good shopping experience. This Kroger is a larger footprint offering all the standards of a grocery store plus a few specialty counters from fresh meats, bakery, deli and the beloved Murrays cheese area. While I am not in Hermitage too often, when I am, I usually make some excuse to pick up a few things at this Kroger. The shelves are always stocked, the selection, especially the meat, is always nice, store is kept clean and the service, while not spectacular, is just right and friendly. They do have a Kroger fuel station, along with a walk-in clinic. I have not utilized the walk-in clinic, but do use my points for a fill up when I stop by. As with most Kroger locations, the gas prices are competitive and then you add your points...and boom, $1 off per gallon! Overall, nothing super fancy about this location, but that is the thing...nothing fancy, just Kroger. And I can dig it. read more

This particular Kroger location is in a decent sized shopping plaza and is nicely laid out and has a decent selection of products. I am a fan of Kroger. Whenever I am in tennessee, this would be the supermarket that I would probably seek out to get the little extras that I will need while in a hotel while on a business trip. Things like water and stuff like that. Speaking of water, I am a huge fan of the Kroger blood orange flavored water. Check it out if you see it. All in all, this Kroger allowed me to accomplish what I set out to do. read more

First time at this store but it was a huge letdown compared to A LOT of Kroger and Ralph's locations in multiple states. There were only like 3 carts available because they're all littered in the parking lot. So many shelves were empty of the most random things like CHIPS. I know there are supply shortages, but Publix and other stores dont have empty shelves like this. A few staff members I exchanged words with were polite but seemed obvious they hate their job....they have like 12 self check-out? But only ONE cashier working at a stand, I felt real bad for the like 9 people waiting to check out. Its ridiculous how stores cut staffing and then just expect customers to not only shop, pay, AND scan/bag all their own stuff. Their pharmacy is AWFUL. I've had so many bad experiences there. From times that they would argue with me because I wanted to use my insurance.. to shaming me because I asked a question about a new medication I was prescribed. I had to change pharmacies because of their poor customer service. The last time I was there, I paid $45 more for a medication than I had to. Just because the girl that was "helping" me didn't care to look up my insurance. Publix is right down the street and much better to their customers. read more

Possibly the worst Kroger on Earth. They are never stocked, you cannot get anyone to help you at the meat counter or the deli. "Oh our deli machines are broken." Really? Every single one of them is broken at the same time? Contastly out of produce. "Well we are out of kale again because people were stocking up in case it snowed." Kale is not something people stock up on for any reason. This is unfortunately the closest grocery store to my home. If I don't already just decide to drive 15 minutes out of the way to go to Publix (which always has kale btw), I step into this store and wonder why I even tried and am mad at myself for wasting my time when I know better. read more

Pickup here SUCKS. They left off HALF my order, and made substitutions that made no sense. I ordered organic honey and got mrs. Butterworths maple syrup, and shampoo but got conditioner. Then they made me talk to the robot to get my refund, listing off each (18!) item they forgot. Frustrated to no end. read more

I decided to have my prescription filled at this pharmacy because it was closer to home than the Publix I normally go to. I receive messages that my items are ready to pick up. I arrive there and they tell me that two of the three had been filled. They are not filling the other one because my insurance is out of network and not covering any of them. There is some dispute between Kroger and Cigna that has not been resolved. So instead of Kroger calling me to tell me this, they let me handle everything, including calling Publix so they can call Kroger to get my script transferred. I'm sick and need these meds but now I have to wait another day because it can't be filled right away at Publix due to the late evening hour. Thank you Kroger. You suck. read more

The pharmacy provides outstanding service. I needed Paxlovid to treat Covid and this store didn't have it in stock. After I got that message I called and they immediately checked other stores and filled it at another one not far away. They even called me back to let me know about when to pick it up from the other store. They were very caring and kind, wanting to help me and as sick as I was I appreciate this beyond belief. read more

This location, called Northlake Village, is further from my house than the McGavock location, but it's my go-to after dark as it seems McGavock becomes...questionable...when the sun isn't out. This Kroger is definitely not new. As weird as it reads, I can recall shopping here as far back as 2004; but definitely feels newer with the major reno that (apparently) occurred recent-ish. (I've been away for over a decade.) While it's a lot bigger than the McGavock location, it's not necessarily easier to navigate given the additional space. Perhaps due to more clientele? Not sure. Nevertheless, it's just as frustrating to move through the aisles. So no one-up there either. The first of two things McGavock does better than Northlake is the self check out areas. YES...I am one of those people that does my weekly grocery shopping and goes to the self check out...because I prefer to bag all of my own items. [At least I encourage all of the people who only have a few items to go ahead of me, right?!?] Anyway, the self check out areas at this location do not have as much space as the McGavock store does. The second thing is the Northlake shopping center traffic pattern -- UGH, it's terrible. Now don't get me wrong -- I know I said in my McGavock review how getting out of there can be a beast...and it can! But the traffic pattern to get out of the Northake Shopping Center is a real PAIN. Probably not Kroger's fault, but it has literally been this way since, again, at least 2004. This review originally started with three stars, then I realized it's really only a two. I think the only thing that makes it a place to shop at all is that it does seem a lot safer at night than the other locations within a reasonable driving distance. read more

So we had to go Into Kroger today for a few items. If your not seeing the date on this review, we are all supposed to be socially distancing ourselves and making sure that we keep ourselves and our neighbors healthy. Well...this Kroger has obviously NOT received the message because it's business as usual. My husband went inside wearing his gloves and face mask, he does this for me, to keep me healthy. While inside he did his part to social distance and respect others space. As he was waiting to get some chicken someone comes into his personal space and reaches around him to grab something. Is this the stores fault? No. But acting like nothing is going on and everything is business as usual is not thinking of the safety of the community and those who shop there. We have been to multiple grocery stores who are doing a way better job. There are signs everywhere, spacers on the floor in front of the deli and meat counters, employees kindly reminding people to keep six feet apart, and it's not an inconvenience. It's a way to keep their customers healthy. The way a business acts during this time says a lot about how they view their customers and their community and the Kroger in Hermitage isn't making any effort to keep the community, their employees, or their patrons safe. read more

Grocery and product selections are fine; I'm here to write about the nasty men's restroom. I am a frequent shopper at Kroger (5544 Old Hickory Blvd, Hermitage, TN 37076) and have used the restroom on several occasions. The paper towel, soap, and toilet paper dispensers have been broken all year. I don't understand why the management does not replace them. There is graffiti on the seat protector dispenser, which is always empty. The paper towel dispenser has been hanging open all year and is nasty inside. Normally the paper towels are sitting on the vanity, at least it was in the dispenser today. The mirror is nasty, doesn't look to have been cleaned all week. There is a hypodermic needle and a bottle cap (with unknown substance) sitting on the toilet paper dispenser. As usual, the trash is overflowing onto the vanity. They don't want this nastiness...especially during the pandemic when cleanliness should be a top priority for retailers. read more

It was the absolute worst experience!!!! What has happened to Krogers in both locations in Hermitage??? The one on Lebanon Pike 15 minutes before they are closing are literally standing outside the doors yelling at people that they are going to close and make it fast! They were not friendly which is why I decided to try the Kroger's on old Hickory Boulevard. The one star is for the fact that they didn't yell at me However they did the complete opposite they completely ignored me there were at least two or three maybe even four clusters of people just talking and when I'm talking about people I'm in regards to employees. I will also include the security guard whose back was to me the whole time when I walked through the doors he was so busy talking to other employees and just visiting. It had been raining outside but wasn't at the moment it was around 8 PM in the evening, I was looking for a grocery cart none to be found anywhere both ends of the store were completely empty of any grocery carts I couldn't find any near the cash registers so I asked one of the employees very nicely and friendly excuse me I am looking for a grocery cart Can you tell me where I can find one? And I quote, they turned and looked at me like I was a alien speaking in an unknown town one of them actually chuckled and laughed at me and said they are all out in the parking lot go help yourself. I asked, you expect me to walk all the way out to the far end of your parking lot to get a grocery cart that should have already been collected and brought into the store? And his answer was "uhh yea" as if to respond like I was asking a very stupid question. Am I missing something? When did a customer who is now having to check themselves out most of the time because there's usually no one at a register, now I have to go and walk all the way out in the middle of a parking lot after it's been pouring raining to collect my own grocery cart wipe it off and prepare to use it all myself while I am now paying a higher price for groceries? If that is going to be the case I'm totally down for it as long as the employees are at a minimal at the grocery store so the grocery prices can be lower such as like an Aldi's I'll be happy to do that... Kroger's you just lost a customer for good, the only way I would ever step foot in one of your stores again is if there is absolutely no other grocery stores available left in the world. read more

This location has really gone downhill in the past 6-9 months. Sad, because it has real potential such as a large deli and cheese shop. But, there are frequently no carts, problems with stocking, and the cheese shop has cheese, but only in 5 pound wheels with no one in the store who can cut it for you. I would chalk it up to the problems many store are having, but the Publix 1 mile away has none of these problems. read more

I love this store! The produce section is awesome and has a huge variety. It's clean, easily accessible and the pharmacy department is fabulous. However, I think that some of the cashiers have brain damage. Based on the store alone, I give it five stars. But the employees are just idiots. Update-truly the worst. Not only was there some sort of altercation with a man, a woman and a gun in the parking lot two weeks ago but they have homeless people littering their doors. People can say what they want about this kroger. If you have ever been to the Kroger on Nashboro village park or whatever (I got lost without my GPS) you'd wish you'd never gone! This Kroger has everything I need, every time I walk in! It's also always so organized and in a way where I kind of get the gist of where everything is. These days... I learn to use the signs up above, baking needs? Oh oil! Canned veggies? Oh! Corn! Frozen potatoes? OH FRIES! You know? Grocery shopping is my husbands most hated thing. Okay, so, yeah, it's a Kroger. But it's easily one of the better Krogers in the Nashville area (some are tiny and old and not very clean and have very little selection)! It's HUGE, bright, newer, and does seem to have more selection than other Kroger stores in Nashville (probably just because it's larger). Sometimes I prefer to shop here after work rather than going to the Krogers closer to my home (south Nashville). Definitely better than the average Nashville Kroger. read more

If it weren't for their convenient location I'd never go back. For the last 2 years or so (management change) the place sucks. Never any carts in the store. Forget pick-up. You'll be missing food you paid for or over charged it's a pandemic. I get it. But don't you pivot and adjust? Y'all check your food before you cook it. I have found random items opened from multiple different shopping trips once arriving home from this location.It always seems to be frozen foods and cookies. Also, this is not from a box cutter because it's always opened at the seal. The bags are being opened by force. I've made management aware of this multiple times. Awful! Marsha has the worse tone to plainly rude. There, I said it. I said it to her too. I wasn't going to argue with her though when she started to excuse herself in an also rude way. Another employee was there. A younger kid. No wonder there is no respect. They see an old lady acting like that so they are going to think that behavior is right. Forgive me if I did something wrong to your eyes but that doesn't give you the right to be rude, period. I touched the glass? I was wearing gloves and a mask and I was on my headspace. I even said "oh I'm sorry" in a apologetic manner but I'm the customer, you are the employee. Remember that, you do not say to me with your getto rude tone "you did not just touched the glass I just cleaned, did you?" like I'm your child. This is the 3rd time this lady had the same tone to everything even before the coronavirus. She is just bitter, disrespectful and rude that seems to hate cutting cheese and ham for people. I'm sorry but if you are in customer service you smile and say my pleasure. You say please and thank you. Fake it till you make it to your punch time. It was pretty frustrating today. Saturday at noon and I'm in line for self checking. One woman was having the self checking Kroger cashier to help her Scan all of her groceries. And we're talking a full cart and underneath! There were several people waiting to have their IDs checked for alcohol. The Kroger employee continued to help this one woman instead of calling another cashier or someone from Customer service over to scan her items. Instead everyone else in line had to wait. I was confused as to why this woman would not be instructed to go through a regular checkout lane instead of holding up the entire self check line. The woman did not appear in anyway disabled. She just stood by while the cashier scanned ALL of her groceries. Normally I would not write a review on something like this, but it seems to me that on a busy Saturday when people are wanting to get in and out that another cashier could've come over to assist, if called upon. read more

This review is going to be short.... Please note that if the first thing your customer is going to see is the produce section then perhaps you might want to provide produce that is edible. This place has consistently bad produce. Limp soggy herbs, old lettuce, collards so old and inedible that they should not be on the shelf.... I could go on for ages about how hard it is to sort through the peppers to find just one that is acceptable, or how almost every bag of onions and potatoes has at least one rotten or soft one in the bag.... Here's a tip : Don't store onions next to potatoes... the onions promote early spoilage of the potatoes and the potatoes absorb the flavors of the onion. If you are the produce manager you might want to do some reading on produce management. The store constantly rings out a security alert over the loudspeaker. So often that my wife and I joke that it must be us. We asked the staff and even they seem puzzled by how often the alert is broadcast. This Kroger is the worst I have been to, and I have been to King Soopers and Kroger's nationwide. On a positive note, the staff is usually friendly. We will be moving soon and I will be happy when this place isn't my local grocery. It does not live up to the standards I have seen at other Kroger stores. read more

One of the better Krogers in the area. This one is near my home so we usually shop here when we don't need a Costco run. The store is large & I think that it might be the headquarters for the Nashville chains because it seems to have a lot of office space above the grocery on the upper level. The store is usually busy, but they always have a lot of cashiers working so it doesn't seem like a wait. They also have 6 self checkout systems to speed up the process. The have a sushi stand that offers free samples throughout the day, & also ready to go sushi rolls. The sushi is pretty good for the price. The store also has a full bakery, seafood & beef counter & deli with hot meals ready to go. They also have a olive bar & a salad bar. read more

I visited here at nighttime and this shopping experience has been the worst shopping experience ever. I literally sat there and watched them follow all of the minorities around the store. Not only that, but if you are a minority, they will sit there and watch you at the self check out and treat you like a thief. This is Joe Biden country and this will not be tolerated. I will be escalating this to a civil rights organization as well as calling a Krogers corporate officer and including this store in my Nashville YouTube video. My biggest complaint about this particular Kroger store is how they constantly do not have any carts! I'm wondering how "someone" does not notice this fact. Surely everyone coming in says something to the employees at the self-checkout. I will give a big shout out to the young security fellow who listened to me gripe, and while I stopped to speak to a neighbor, went somewhere and found me a cart!! We love Krogers because of the better prices, fuel points, etc., Every time we go to Kroger we check the price of the HoneyCrisp Apples. Today the apples were on sale for 1.99/pound right when you walk through the front door, so I grabbed two large bags. At check out however, the checker, "Ashley" put the code in for the apple and then weighed them at $3.19 per pound or something. I told her they were on sale for 1.99, she acted put out, but changed it...but then I saw she only changed one of the bags. I asked her if she changed the second bag and she sighed audibly, rolling her eyes! So, I called her out and said, "you sigh like I'm bothering you, really? I am not going to buy apples over $3 per pound!" Where is the customer service? She never apologized or acted like she cared one little bit, rather I was a thorn in her side! She tried to pull in the grocery bagger, so he could be put out by this annoying shopper, but he was very nice, smiled, and gave very nice customer service. Someone needs to let Ashley know that without customers, she has no job! She reduces Kroger to 2 stars, plus her grocery belt was very dirty, she probably never cleans it, the store smells and always has a negative, depressing vibe. I will only go to that location if I absolutely must! read more

* If I could give a 10 star I would.* My wife is pregnant and has sudden cravings. Today at midnight my wife was craving the natural Kroger peanut butter that you can grind up yourself near the organic aisle but unfortunately the machine was empty . I went to the restroom and told my wife I'd find her in the store afterwards. After the restroom I walked around looking for her. I seen 3 different employees working very fast holding cases of peanuts. I figured it's just the job. I find my wife and all of a sudden those 3 employees walk up to us. "We are sorry for any inconvenience, we stocked up everything you wanted. " They went beyond out of the way to make a pregnant woman happy. Ive never seen such amazing customer care in my life. This is the rudest people I've ever had to deal with especially the dirty hippy guy that not only got smart with me but got rude with my dr who is the nicest dr I've ever had. I recently moved to Hermitage and my primary care dr is 32 miles away. They will not fill my prescriptions anymore unless I change my primary care dr. (5yrs of being my dr and I'm an epileptic, have tumors on my thyroid, etc. I have alot of health issues and changing my dr because of 2 miles is not an option). Because she is more than 30 miles away (32miles), they will not fill any of my prescriptions. The delima is I will get in trouble for changing Pharmacys. This is stupid and your employees were so rude!! I guess it's a blessing in disguise that I don't have to deal with them anymore!! read more

Thank goodness this Kroger is here. My house is sandwiched between two other Krogers, neither of which I will go to, but this one is much better. I never thought I would give a Kroger a four star review because I have been known to say some less than complimentary things about Kroger at times, but this location is an example of a company finally trying to keep up with the times and succeeding in many ways (although there's always room for improvement). This Kroger has a salad bar (which isn't that impressive, but I am glad it has one), but it also has a olive and mediterranean bar which is worth a visit. What's annoying is that these two bars have separate prices, which tells me Kroger assumes I will either eat from one or the other and not both. Silly assumption, Kroger. The produce section is nice, and as is often not the case at other Krogers, well cared for. They don't quite have the varied selection you'd find at Publix (no yucca root or boniatos), but you can do quite well even for unusual recipes. I love the 10 for 10 deals you can get on produce here. The natural section is my favorite, and I love that Kroger has brought out this new Simple Truth organic brand. It's inexpensive and tasty, and covers a broad range of products l buy, like Tofu, veggie chips, soymilk, and they even have some Simple Truth meats. This Kroger is better stocked with that brand than most. I have to admit that Kroger having this brand is making me shop there more than any other reason. There's also a nice seafood section - the people there are helpful and will even tell you the best days to come to buy certain fish. All in all, it's not a bad shopping experience, and I am glad it's here when I can't go to Green Hills or the Farmers' Market. read more

Horrible pharmacy staff, especially the pharmacist Katelyn (I have to say the pharmacist Cameron is always professional and nice and I hope others learn a little bit from him). One time I called insurance to verify if they were lying about my prescription not being covered by insurance and I found out they were!! When I confronted the technician she denied. But after I made the insurance call the pharmacy and confronted them they couldn't lie about it anymore. Recently they lied to me again. I ordered my prescription 3 days ago. Made it to pharmacy and my prescription wasn't ready. This time their excuse was "yours not ready because it is not covered. Pay the full price because with your insurance you will pay more." After I asked them to run the insurance, the technician gave me the look that he knows what he was doing and I am wasting his time. He said "someone did run it and put a note on your profile saying it wasn't covered." I asked again to run it under the insurance. Then his face changed, because he saw my prescription was covered! I then got upset because anyone else being lied to and manipulated would be upset.. I asked the pharmacist why did you lie and didn't even bother to try to run it before making me pay the full price? And why did your staff put such a note without even trying to put it under the insurance? Instead of handing the situation professionally, she made it worse saying "We don't run your prescription under insurance because most insurances dnt cover this prescription." Seriously? Wonder how many times made us pay full price just because they were lazy and didn't do their jobs because they "assume"! People please double check twice and three times and make sure to tell them to run it under the insurance, even when they tell you they did!! Because most of this location staff are lazy liars.. read more
