I love me a good Kroger and this one located on Lebanon Pike in Hermitage is one of my favorites on this side of the city! When I am in the immediate area, I always make an excuse to swing by. I usually pop into this location on side quests where I just need a few random items for a meal or meal prep, etc...recently my visit was to pick up a full dinner for a nice fall evening. I scooped up some great priced, thick cut pork chops, along with some asparagus, corn and potatoes. All the goods were in good condition, fresh and well priced. While I spent most of my time on the outer aisles, I did hit a few interior aisles for sauces, seasonings and a few other things. Shelves were all well stocked and organized. Everything I was after was easy to find and in stock. The store itself was in decent condition and clean, however the bathroom could have used a tiny bit of attention. Service was okay. Cashier wasn't much for conversation, but all good. Overall, Kroger diehard here. Solid location that I am happy to visit when in the area. read more

This Kroger management is getting very bad. Sale prices don't ring up for the sale price, digital coupons don't link to the Kroger app to get the discount, seedless watermelon not only doesn't ring up for the sale price it's loaded with seeds. There is not enough shelf space in the fruit and vegetables without constant restocking which means some like tomatoes is empty a lot. These are all management issues. The store has gone from not bad for the past few years to pretty bad. Change the top manager out please. The personality of the employees directly reflects the personality of the top person on site and it's bad. Most of the employees are working like they wish they weren't there. I love my Kroger, usually a good selection of everything I need. Friendly, helpful staff. Pharmacy is very helpful, also.

We were told prior to moving here not to go to this Kroger and we didn't for a while. But finally, I tried it because it is so close to our house and actually nothing happened for a while. Today, I was shopping and a young man with a bottle of wine in his back pocket, was staring at me and smiling, so I walked away and then he approached me in the deli. I walked to the front to tell the manager. The associate called Stone (reportedly the manager), to the front and told him what had happened. I'm standing there and the man again comes to the front of the store where I am, with that weird smile. I hear several of the associates say he harassed a woman in the store last week. He walks out of the store with the wine bottle in his pocket, Stone walks up to the associate, he tells him what happened and then Stone just walks off and says absolutely nothing to me or the associate. Stone then walked in the opposite direction of where the man was, so he wasn't going to address the person, and yet just left me standing at the front desk without saying a word to me. If I cannot feel safe to shop in a store, especially after asking you to address the situation, I will no longer be shopping in your establishment. Sounds like this happened last week and it's happening again and nothing is being done to protect the customer. Disappointing as the store is very close to where I live. I do appreciate the sales clerk sending someone out to take my groceries to make sure he was not in the parking lot. Stone do better for your patrons! read more

So I shop here regularly and I really enjoy this Kroger. I would say some items are hard to find but a friendly staff is there to help you. They offer fresh fruits and vegetables. They have a fresh sushi, deli, bakery, fish and meat section with prepackaged options as well. I have not tried their pharmacy but they do have one for prescription and over the counter medication. Definitely could benefit from having more staff but overall is a good grocery store. Come check it out and tell us what you think of it... read more

The bad reviews here seem to be for the pharmacy only, but the store itself is consistently full of product and fresh veggies. I just shopped here on 3/19 and the produce, meats, eggs, canned goods and basic food needs were all stocked up. There was also a worker on almost every isle restocking shelves. At the moment, they are all out of Toilet paper, hand sanitizer, and rubbing alcohol. Although a worker did tell me that those items should be back on the shelves within a few days. They are limiting amounts sold to individuals, so hopefully everyone can get what they need without people panic buying. I would call to double check on the TP stock before just showing up. This is one of the nicer Krogers I've been to. It's huge, and super clean. I'm visiting Nashville for the weekend and had a need some necessities I had to grab from a grocery store. This Kroger had the brand of drinks I like and I bought both watermelon and strawberries on 2 separate trips. The watermelon was delicious, and the strawberries were mostly sweet. Both fruit was fresh and I was pleased with the quality! Overall, good grocery store. Since it is close to my relative's home, I'm sure I'll return next time I'm in Nashville. read more

I've never experienced such a lackadaisical business in my 71 years. This is a management problem; not employee. That store is always dirty, with an attitude front to back, including the pharmacy. Stocking the shelves should be done during off hours; not during busy times of the day. They have 20 self-checkout kiosks and 1 regular checkout lane. My wife came out with her groceries yesterday and her vehicle was surrounded by shopping carts. Here was the conversation: Here was the conversation: Me: can you move these Him: No- looked how you parked Me: (looking how straight I was in the spot) what are you talking about? Him: Here, look how close you are- I can't get these out(from that side) Me: I thought it was only open in that side. He takes videos of my car and leaves the carts. At that point the parking spot in the upper left corner was empty so I shoved all the carts towards that and said "you are an asshole" Oh yea, in the mean time my cart goes rolling down the parking lot and I have to grab it. I come back and load my groceries and put my cart away. As I am leaving I see him at another corral texting or something and I stopped to explain again. He talked over me the entire time and was recording with his phone Me: I thought it was only open on one end, I had a full parking space Him: were you not even looking what you were doing Me: I did not notice any carts there. Him: he thought I meant in my parking space. And he said "I know they were not there, because I put them there. Me: it was a mistake. It didn't notice it was open. Him: they are all like that (funny thing is the last picture is in their parking lot) Me: no they are not - not everywhere. It was a mistake Him: have you never been here before? This Kroger is older and not in an exclusive neighborhood but my husband and I just moved here from Illinois and this is a great store. The employees are kind and friendly. There are restrooms in both the front and back of the store. It may not carry all the fancy products but it is easy to navigate, and the self-checkout always has someone there to help if you want to use it. Lastly, the pharmacy is very helpful, prompt and friendly. They got all my prescriptions transferred and filled accurately and they helped me get the best prices on them. We don't eat a lot of processed food so our value is placed on meat and produce and cheese and this store excels in all three. We will continue to shop here. read more

I shop here regularly. The personnel are always friendly and helpful. What I call 'day old' flowers are a huge cost saver and I buy them frequently. They have great fruit and vegetables and their private label items are top quality. There are generally great bargains both in the meat and seafood departments. There are definitely some changes needed in the store. I would start with cleanliness.Everything from the carts to the fixtures is outdated and dirty. Also, I do not like the fact that you have to use the app for the coupons. I like to browse the items available when I'm shopping. I don't always prepare in advance to purchase the promotional items. It's a hassle to click on the various things that I want to buy that are on sale, coupon required, and spend some time finding them on their app when I want to check out. My theory is that they do this intentionally so that people don't take advantage of the savings. Recently, the thing that has put me over the top is that they don't have the proper signage and choose not to enforce the newly mandated mask policy. I'm done. read more

Call ahead grocery pickup is a complete disaster..you schedule your pickup just to have them text you not to come get your groceries they're moving you back a day or 2 cuz its busy! Then you show up a day or so later and you still wait for over an hour as they are completely unprepared and have tasked 1 employee with loading every car. Done with this place. read more

The tornadoes forced me to have prescriptions filled at this Kroger. The people working the pharmacy are horribly rude and inconsiderate. No one answers the phones. They ring and ring. Not just for me, but for my doctors trying to call in prescriptions. I waited outside the drive through window last Tuesday morning - you know the window that has a sign posting they open at 8 AM? At 8:15 AM they raised the shade and then made me wait another 10 minutes or so for the computers to wake up. I just tried to order refills over the phone. They put me on hold twice and acted aggravated that I called. I miss small town pharmacies - places who need your business. If you have a choice, don't patronize these people. My dad is a pharmacist who owned his own small store in Michigan. I was raised in that store. He taught me that the reason I could wear Jordache Jeans is because our customers kept coming back and he made us treat them well. Those values don't exist anymore. read more

There's a reason their rating is so low. I was getting repeated notifications on a prescription that was ready for pick up. I have no prescription there. I called to find out what it was for. Before I could even finish with my question, the rude person who answered the phone (who I am certain was the same rude person at the drop off window when I got my booster shot) interrupted and said it because of the vaccination. I asked her if she could cancel it "I can't but the pharmacist can" she said in a curt and irritated tone. Really? I will NEVER get any prescription for myself or my mother filled here. EVER. I shop here regularly and pay more because I enjoy the experience of the GROCERY side of the business but I will ALWAYS go elsewhere for prescriptions. This one woman single handedly makes dealing with them a miserable experience. Why do people have a job they hate so much and why are they dealing with customers? read more

I've been going to this Kroger for years. I'm very glad they have ClickList and the gas station now. Charlton and the other staff at ClickList are great and take such care to get our grocery order accurate. This saves me time and money and is so worth the small charge. read more

Called in 2 refills on Tuesday. Out of refills for one of them so I agreed to their offer to call my doctor as I have done for the past 25 years. Friday, still no word about either prescription so I called the pharmacy. Employee asked me why I didn't call my doc. Did I know my doc had not responded to their request for a new prescription ? No way of knowing. I asked about my other prescription. No, it hadn't been filled either because they didn't know if I needed the name brand or generic. My history clearly shows that I have gotten brand name for past 25 years if she had bothered to look. Did I know the prescription was waiting for me to say brand or generic? Again, no way of knowing this. So both prescriptions just sat, for four days. I was able to speak to the pharmacist after the clerk told me the tone of my voice was "elevating" and she offered to loan me some of my first prescription until my doc sent in a new order. It would be ready in an hour on Friday night. Was it ready? Of course not. Dumb of me to think it would be. Was it ready Saturday morning? Saturday afternoon? Of course not. But my voice was "elevating." My second prescription still not filled because they are out of stock and will order it on Monday. Could that not have been done on Tuesday when the refill was received? Instead, I am not able to take either of my two prescriptions for three/four days if not later than that. This pharmacy used to be so attentive, helpful, and efficient. Now, after 25 years, I am looking for a new pharmacy. Any suggestions of a caring and efficient pharmacy in Hermitage/Mt. Juliet? read more

I've always referred to this location as "weird Kroger." Why? I dunno, really. I guess because I never go there and on the rare occasion I have I just feel like I'm in another state or something. I can't explain it. This location has actually been around forever. In fact, when I was a kid this is where my family shopped the most. I have fond memories of begging for cookies (and probably actin' a fool when I didn't get them) as a child with my mom in this store. I normally shop at the Kroger location on Old Hickory Blvd but last week when they couldn't cash a check (ran out of money???) I had to come on down to this location. This Kroger is 1 million times LESS CROWDED than OHB. I loved it! I didn't have to park a mile away and there was no wait at customer service, which is unheard of at OHB location. I was in a bad mood after work yesterday and didn't feel like putting up with a bunch of people so I decided to do my grocery shopping at weird Kroger. Again, easy parking and no crowd. True, this location isn't as fancy or as big as the OHB location but that is fine with me. I got what I needed without feeling the need to run people down with my cart. They have an automotive section at this Kroger which was nice because I actually needed a quart of oil. I also noticed that they have a very limited section of refrigerated coffee creamers. Just throwing that out there. Check out was a breeze as they had several lanes open with no wait, which is also unheard of at the OHB location. I'll still probably do the majority of my shopping at the other location but this Kroger is great if you are in a hurry and just don't feel like being bothered or inconvenienced. read more

I love shopping at this krogers. Even though smaller in size its less crowded and I can shop with confidence. I would like to give praise to a worker name lawanda. She went above and beyond to make sure I had great experience, Make a long story short when I came back towards the meat department she notice my hands were full, she ask 1st did I need a buggy I told her no, I proceeded to ask her where a certain item was,she ask would for her to direct me to the item, and I said, where she went above and beyond not only did she take me to the item, she stood with me until I decided which one I wanted and she place it in my hand. That goes to say alot when you have employees that go above and beyond so that you can have a great experience.. Please give her recognition for a job well done from a very happy customer!! As to Kroger standards, poor customer service. They don't say hello, thank you, or good bye. Their self service computers are 1000% more customer service oriented. They act so bothered if you need something... Written all over their face they hate their job. Assistant manager lied to me that she was store manager and also wanted to argue with me... Typical Kroger mentality. Shop Publix they are totally awesome and cheaper on many more things. read more

I don't know why someone would call this a "weird" Kroger and then give it four stars!! This store is so different from the other store in Hermitage across from Summit Hospital. That stores make me feel like I'm shopping at Publix. I just home from a trip to the Lebanon Rd. store and wish that I had driven the extra mile or so. Kroger was out of three things on my list which should be pretty staple items: Pet Pride (their brand) of kitty litter, cases of spring water (they had huge gaps on the shelves and only purified water in stock) and Diet Sierra Mist. Most cashiers are chewing gum and just there to put in their time. No customer servicer attitude. I've met a couple of employees at the back of the store that were actually helpful but up front---forget it! Crowded aisles, not enough room to expand the store, parking can be difficult, never samples out in their "sample" displays. I understand they have a new manager and I hope he can turn it around. I usually avoid this store for my regular shopping, but use it for bread, milk and eggs drop ins. read more

Always seems to be short of help at the registers, prices have gone up while advertising claims prices have gone down. They've raised prices on Kroger brand items and then raised prices on name brand items even more. It's to the point where you actually spend the same or even a little less at Publix. It seems like it's way more crowded than it used to be and most of the shoppers at this location are, um, fairly helpless or just plain weird tbh. So it's usually a headache to even do a short trip. (not dangerous weird, just really odd weird) There isn't much parking at all- and especially not since they've started using the online pickup. For some reason I guess it was figured that people who don't have to take groceries to their car should get two whole rows of prime parking up front. There's hardly ever even anyone using the pick-up. Main thing that's good about this Kroger is the lay-out and pharmacy. The staff is mostly great too, especially the ones who work during the day who have worked there for years. But sad to say going there has just become a super frustrating experience and given the price increases, when possible I'd just rather have the much more peaceful shopping trip you get at Publix. read more

Empty shelves, dirty, empty boxes, cardboard & garbage in the isles. Lots of damaged products (bruised produce, bent cereal boxes, had to search through 14 cans of tuna before I found one that wasn't dented or damaged. Terrible store. read more

Always count your medication at this pharmacy! Twice in the last 2 years they have shorted me on my anti-anxiety meds. both times I was prescribed 90 pills, and both times I only got 60!. I called to complain,talked to the manager on duty,he said he would count the meds still on the shelf,and that they were right and I was wrong. complained to the district manager and she offered to give me an in store discount ,but would not replace the missing pills. Bottom line they have a drug addict somewhere in the pharmacy at the hermitage kroger. Beware count your meds! read more

People are friendly and store is clean. We call this one the "good" Kroger...the one on N. Mt. Juliet road, not so much. Are people getting the two confused? It is a smaller format store, which I like. 99% of the time, I'm shopping for normal groceries...don't need the clutter of 1000 exotic items I've never heard of.
