Let me begin by saying that I pass lots of other grocery stores in order to shop here! Currently they are doing some construction but the store is still open and it's still worth going to. The only downfall is the parking lot gets crowded at times but for the value it's worth the hassle. So I start every trip by browsing the sale paper to know what's on sale this week. I also check out the managers specials that are located through out the store for any additional mark downs. In addition to that don't forget to use your loyalty card to get the lowest price. With that said we always find great deals on meat, they deli is absolutely great (even when they are a little slow) and for the most part I've never had to stand in a long line and wait a million years to check out. Unlike other comments I've never had to deal with rude employees and as I said earlier I drive past many other grocery stores in order to shop at this location. read more

This is the grocery store I shop at. 4 stars because it's no Central Market, but it's pretty great. What made me write the review finally to the place I go to weekly though was my (2) trips there this Thanksgiving of 2020. The place was a mad house. Tons of people getting last minute things, crowding the aisles. Not even Walmart was open, but Kroger and their incredible employees were hard at work. I actually had two conversations with their employees and they were so friendly and helpful- one even gave me a $2 off coupon for my groceries which was nice. Just wanted to say I really appreciate these people who work so hard so that we can enjoy ourselves. It's noticed and appreciated. read more

I waited over an hour for my groceries to be brought out to the car. Customer service line and store manager refused to answer the phone. This was extremely frustrating, I chose curbside to save time not waste it. I don't know if this was a staffing issue or a system issue but something has to be modified. read more

I have been living one block from this Kroger for over 10 years and the entire existence of this Kroger it's like playing roulette when I come in any day anytime of the week. there are random signs hand written saying back at 3pm when it's 11 am. The team will stand around laughing if you go towards customer service and boldly tell "they closed " and it's usually standard business hours mon - fri 10-5pm I will try to get scratch offs cashed or a money order sent but no one is ever working! If I'm shopping Kroger, this is likely the one! Not only is it near me, but it's large, organized, wide-aisled and well, it just feels good. The prices aren't the most competitive, but they do have the free membership card that helps. It gives me a bit of a Costco vibe somehow and I'm digging it. This is the works Kroger I've had any experience with. I'll start by saying security wouldn't let me come in with my bag. and he made me hand it over to him before I could come in the store. Security droped my bag right by the exit door and walked off. anyone could have picked up my bag on there way out. Right now I but but that was the thing though that's what I'm saying they don't know what the fuck is going on is he gonna take somebody's bag. the pharmacy talked days of me filling up for them to fill my prescription. mu dr called it in 4 days ago and it isnt ready. on top of all that they didn't have a worker show up for money services. so no one in the whole store could help me with a money order. and even worst all the wokers had the worst attitude because of my frustration with them. and no one careed to help. Aaiysha needs a major attitude adjustment if she is going to be working the guest service counter. My please and thank you's were snubbed and greeted with such attitude that I had to stop and pray so that I could move on without altercation. Completely understand that there are challenges during Covid, but the grocery pickup at this store is really messed up. They are completely overwhelmed and can't handle the load they have. My husband had an awful experience. It took three trips to finally get groceries. My daughter just went to pick up her groceries at eight o'clock and waited thirty minutes after having her original pickup time of 4 being moved to 8 with her kids in the car at bedtime. After waiting thirty minutes she was told that there were two cars in front of her. She ended up with no groceries after waiting 40 minutes. I like this store because it is closest to my house and it's been ok before Covid. I would not recommend during these times for grocery pickup. read more

I visited Kroger the other day for my weekly grocery shopping. This was a nice location with an easy to maneuver layout. Some of my favorite things about Kroger is the homemade tortillas and the selection of produce. The only negative part of the visit was that they were out of my favorite brand of yogurt. But... This location is incompetent and often unclean. I am new to Dallas and work odd hours and keep trying to use this Kroger location in the later evening/night hours because it's within walking distance for me and I'm just trying to get through the day but the poor service is so breathtakingly bad meaning that I'm often unable to check out later at night that I'm done wasting my time coming in here. They do nothing about non electric vehicles parking at EV charging stations. How am I supposed to charge my car! It's sad that people that shop here really think they are above others. This place is a f@$king dive and has been for way to long. Aisles are always filled with product on pallets or displays making the store impossible to navigate. This Kroger on Capitol Ave is working on upgrading the store. You really can tell in the quality of the service, produce and other products. The pharmacy is horrid and has gotten worse. I've waited from 3:35 until 5:10 for meds I told was told would be "ready quickly:......then "in 10 minutes" about 43 minutes before they were ready. But of course one of the eye drops the surgeon advised me to start taking tonight "won't be ready to noon tomorrow". I will be fine but this really is a ridiculous way to treat a paying customer. The 1 rating is for poor service in the pharmacy. They are the worst of any pharmacy I have ever been to. Good customer service includes being cordial to customers, telling the truth, and not acting as if it is a bother to be of service. read more

Literally 1 register was open (besides self check out) on a Sunday morning. You know how busy it's going to be why are you making one line? It's beyond frustrating because Sunday is when people get the bulk of their groceries so it's too many items for self check out!! So this is my "regular" grocery store I shop at and evenings it is super packed - hard to find parking. Probably because they share a parking lot with the gym, but people park as far as the Bank of America parking at the end of the center to walk over to the store. I like that they are open until 1 am. Usually I have a pretty decent visit, able to navigate the store easily and get in and out. Tonight I went in later than usual (around 9:30pm). Not sure if this is the norm, or if it was because they had a little bit of interior construction going on, but all the regular check out lines seemed to close down around 9:45/10pm - except for the Self check out. Also because of the interior construction, there was no access to the fresh cheese section by the deli. Store was PACKED. Lines were long waiting for the self check out. Seems like quite a few people were having issues getting their items scanned (I was one:() Well not getting my items scanned, but the machine auto called for an attendant when I hit the option to pay. Could not find the one attendant among the crowd in the self checkout area and, after waiting for a few minutes, I had to leave my register (past a long line of waiting people) to walk over to the customer service who informed me the attendant was there. They pointed, I saw no one, but mysteriously by the time I walked back to the machine it was fixed! I would say for as busy as this location is and that they stay open later, they should try to keep at least two or three regular checkout lanes open. Also make it easier to identify the attendant in the Self checkout lanes. I thought they wore uniforms (maybe I'm wrong) but whoever the attendant was looked like she blended right in with the crowd. read more

Terrible delivery in Duncanville tx-manager never orders enough for delivery-will not keep up with demand!! The packers do not pull the right products and give you short expiration dates on products. Waited 20 minutes for my pick up order. The whole point of pick up is to make it easier and quicker for us. I called and texted with no response. I had to go in to get my food. On top of that this was the 3rd time something was missing and/or something was expired. It's so gross. And going though the hassle of calling and talking to customer service about ur old grapes and your one molded green pepper is just annoying and quite embarrassing. I just rather get it myself. Honestly don't recommend doing pick up or shopping at this location. My boyfriend saw a rat and that was the final straw for us. read more

I was looking for ground ginger, which I've always found with the produce. I asked 3 different employees and they each told me it was in a different location. Love this Kroger for convenience in the day and despise them at night. Why close all the self checkouts at night? no staff? or saving labor because nobody is there to watch. You could probably make up the money if customers could get in and out instead of dumping their baskets because you're lines at 10 deep into the aisle's. I avoid this kroger for multiple reasons, but i was forced today to due to having a shipt order at this location, they had no checkout lanes out but self checkout, i went to the self checkout which i do sometimes especially at some locations that's all they have, is self checkout, but nonetheless the young man who was attending the self checkout i was at, was all over the place, stood there waiting for assistance for some time while he helped everyone who came after me and then when it came to me, he told me i wasn't suppose to check out my shipt items there and then walked away, left me waiting for longer while he helped out customers after me, finally said something he goes it's busy, i go well you need to help your customers who's been waiting first, he proceeds to come and take the order and then asked him to take the tax off because that's the whole reason i needed assistance and i get my receipt and he didn't take the tax off which caused me more grief then the order was worth. cashier name was Mark and mark definitely needs a lil bit of coaching!!!!!! First off let me say this review isn't of the store and employees. It's about the customers that come in thinking they're all that and they deserve immediate attention, (Karens and Bobs). This people, and there are few of them as no one wants to work, so don't blame your problems on them and expect something you know you won't get unless you lie to complain to get it. I'm an old lady but I hear perfectly and I'm really sick of people trying to take advantage of the few loyal employees they have. Don't go in and tell untruths just to get your way. It not only hurts the employees but yourself as no one will want to wait on you again. If you don't like the service use self check out. That's what it's for and everyone will be a lot happier. I just talked to my favorite cashier and she said people were trying to take advantage of a sale with another product and demanded they be given it. PEOPLE! There are tags with descriptions and you act like they're brain dead and will cave. The next time you go in thank the cashiers, courtesy clerks, everyone for their service thru the pandemic till now. Let's start with the actual food - this Kroger always has a great selection of produce, a variety of specialty health foods, and a fully stocked aisles of your basics. I really go out of my way to visit this location for its constant and reliable upkeep of its food. Now for the downside - the parking lot is an absolute nightmare. First of all, the parking lot is tiny and constantly being overtaken by the gym-goers and the apartment next door. So good luck finding a space during any sort of normal hours. Secondly, the parking lot is often filled with shady characters. Make sure to lock your car, take your valuables, and avoid visiting too late at night. read more

I've said for YEARS that Uptown needs a decent grocery store besides that gross Albertson's or that Walmart Neighborhood Market. I lobbied for HEB for years (even wrote the company) but it looks like Kroger got into the market. Well played, Mr. Roger... Mr. K Roger. The store isn't HUGE like the big one on Mockingbird (really, that place is nuts big). It's juuuuust big enough. The produce section isn't huge but it had everything i needed and nice fresh apples. The meat department looked fresh. The isles were nice and I was able to fine everything fairly easily. Oh, and the wine section. Heh, felt bigger than the produce area. Boy, does Mr. Roger know his constituents. :) Yeah, it's a grocery store... but it's a great addition to the neighborhood and I'll gladly do my weekly sto' run at this one. Fo' sho'. read more

This location is wonderful. I always find a good parking spot and the store is not congested at all. They have lots of fresh veggies. They also have a nice selection of chicken and turkey. Checking out is always fast because of the self checkout. The only reason I haven't given them 5 starts is because the young cashiers tend to have attitudes sometimes. Poor poor customer service skills. But, if you use the self checkout you won't have to worry about this. read more

Is anybody else really confused about this new, super-nice Kroger? It is right across the street from what many people call "Ghetto Target" to differentiate it from other Target stores. Everyone knows where the Ghetto Target is. The housing around there is regular-people not fancy-people. Also, it's on a DART stop...so more regular people. On top of all this, they knock down one of the most run-down, ghetto, best-place-to-get-your-purse-stolen movie theaters to build this complex of fancypants housing, gym and Kroger. I am so confused. What is the plan? Maybe they are thinking that people will come from the other side of 75 (where the $ is) to shop here. Maybe they think people with $ will move into the nice apartments they built next door. OR maybe the new fancy Kroger will become the new Ghetto Kroger very very soon. (HIINT: For those that like their "natural" or "fresh" options, check the labels. I found a lot of tricky labeling especially in the deli area.) read more

I have high expectations when it comes to grocery stores. The last thing I want when I go food shopping is to be met with sour faces and a sour smell. Luckily, I was met with neither when I walked into Kroger. It was a breath of fresh air to walk in and have a friendly person ask me if I needed a cart or basket. Everything was beautifully organized on shelves, floors were sparkling clean, there were people sampling food everywhere, and there some great prices to be found. There were lots of hellos being uttered by the staff to patrons such as myself...the whole thing was rather Pleasantville-ish, and I enjoyed feeling like a rock star in a grocery store. Yes, a grocery store. My only gripe is that the household items were sandwiched between the dry goods and the frozen foods. They might want to think that one over a bit. Granted, I know that maybe this is just a red-carpet treatment that might last about about a month or two until they have been around a while, but nonetheless I am excited to see this Kroger open up. Another grocery store closer to downtown on the east side of 75 was SORELY needed! read more

I've been coming here for 3 years and I've always had a great experience! Friendly, helpful staff in every department other than the pharmacy. The pharmacists can be a bit rude & act like they wish you weren't there, but it's the cheapest place with my insurance and good rx. The store is never out of anything I'm looking for (AMAZING, since my husband and I both work 50 + hrs /week and can't come to the store more than once every 10 days or so...). It's almost always busy in here, so try to avoid the 5p weekday rush! There are also ALWAYS stocking carts throughout the aisles which can be a bit inconvenient, but like I said above, at least they're never out of anything! read more

Pros: The prices are average (except produce) to any other grocery store and the store is kept clean and organized. Cons: Their customer service is horrible; from their cashiers, to their staff that operate the Starbucks section, and to the people that stock the shelves. The staff doesn't greet you, many of them are too busy having inappropriate side conversations and often seem disgruntled. One occasion I placed a hand basket with cocktails napkins off to the side (while I needed to run to the car for my wallet) of the floral section and an employee near the self-checkout loudly said, "he know they don't go there" and started complaining how no one ever puts things back. When I realized she was referring me, I explained situation and that i didn't exactly where to put the item. As I walked out she and another employee begin tisking and complaining so I just decided not to return back and exclaimed, "have a nice day." Then immediately the both started with a, "no he didn't and he don't want to go there." I just shook my head and left. Just yesterday around 9a my friend and I stopped in for coffee. As we were inline the person in front of me begin to order and all the while the cashier had her lip puckered to the side, didn't seem attentive, and started complaining to her coworker about the refrigerator with a leak. After the gentleman ordered she asked for his order again. No apologies or thank you... As I ordered she was just as inattentive as before. She even begin rolling her eyes for no reason. I wish at least the Starbuck staff were their actual employees and not Kroger staff with a green apron. After we left i called the store and spoke with the manager. I think Adam was his name, at least he seemed sincere and said that he would address the issue. I basically use this store mostly for their prescription department because I live nearby making it quite convenient for me. With some exceptions, I prefer to do the bulk of my (grocery) shopping at other stores in the area that I find are more suitable for me. I would have given this Kroger 4 or possibly even 5 stars were it not for the fact that the employees here are surly, rude and uncaring with zero personality. I will add though, with some exceptions. It's a large store so the selections are very good. And, when an item is on sale, it's usually priced very well. read more
