Not bad for a Kroger Marketplace in Cypress on Highway 290. I came from Waller and needed some fruits to complete my weekly grocery shopping. Parking lot is huge, so does the store. The clothing session was very unattractive. Mostly working men's outfits. Produce section was stocked with plenty of fruits and vegetables. I am going to swing by again next time I'm in this area. There are 2 restrooms on both sides of the store, one by Starbucks and one by the pharmacy. They're very clean and accessible. I don't like the plants displayed outside. They were soaked with water. MY FAVORITE KROGER! CLEAN, FRIENDLY, & WELL-STOCKED (MOSTLY) This is by far my favorite Kroger, and definitely the cleanest one I've ever visited. Conveniently located in the heart of the Cypress Fairfield community near the Premium Outlet on Highway 290, it sits in a shopping strip surrounded by other businesses, making it easy to run multiple errands in one trip. Atmosphere & Customer Service: The store has a welcoming and calm atmosphere, and the staff are consistently friendly and helpful. A special shoutout goes to Ms. Pearl, the sweet, elderly African American lady who works at the self-checkout area. She always greets me with a warm, motherly smile, and we often share light-hearted conversations while I'm checking out. What I appreciate most about Ms. Pearl is how she respects my checkout preferences. She doesn't bag my groceries, but instead organizes them neatly as I scan--making the process smoother and preventing items from piling up on the belt. I prefer to bag my own groceries because I like them arranged a certain way (yes, I'll admit I'm a bit OCD about it), and she's the only one who honors that without question. The younger self-checkout attendants, while quick to jump in and help, often start bagging without asking. Thankfully, they're always respectful and understanding when I let them know I prefer to do it myself. It's refreshing to see such respectful and well-mannered young workers nowadays--kudos to them! In-Store Perks: Bakery: I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of their bakery. I bought a small white cake for my sister's birthday, and it was fresh, fluffy, and full of flavor, absolutely delicious! The bakery staff are friendly and appear genuinely hardworking. Deli: The deli is a standout. They offer a great selection of fresh meats and cheeses. My go-tos are the Cajun turkey, cracked black pepper turkey, and smoked gouda cheese. They also stock extras like kosher pickles, hoagie buns, specialty mustards, and small-sized salad dressings, among items, which are perfect for quick sandwich nights. Extras: There's a Starbucks, a sushi counter, and a hot food station offering items like fried and baked chicken, rotisserie chicken, potato salad, and more. While I haven't tried the Starbucks, the sushi is decent. The hot food is hit-or-miss depending on freshness; try to catch it when it's just been prepared. Complaints: Seafood Department: Unfortunately, this is where the store really drops the ball. I've purchased bad seafood more than once, including some blue crabs that smelled horrible the moment I opened the package. It was so bad I nearly passed out, and I vowed never to buy seafood from Kroger ever again. This seems to be a recurring issue across multiple Kroger locations. If you're considering seafood, proceed with caution... or better yet, go elsewhere. Don't say I didn't warn you. Bottled Water Stock Issues: Lately, they've consistently been out of Aquafina and Nestlé Pure Life bottled water, only their store brand is available in bulk. This is frustrating because it forces me to shop at the nearby H-E-B, which is always overcrowded and chaotic. I hope Kroger restocks these brands soon and bring back the larger water displays they once provided for these two particular brands. Final Thoughts: Despite a few shortcomings, mainly in the seafood department and bottled water supply, this Kroger remains my favorite location in the North Houston area. It's clean, well-organized, and staffed with kind and professional employees. If you're a Kroger fan, I highly recommend stopping by. This has to be the worst Starbucks Ive ever been in. Yesterday I ordered ahead, after about 10 mins barrista advised ... no tea ... left in disgust, their system did not reflect that. While I was waiting.. saw a guy being advised tge coffee he ordered wasn't available. They substituted without advising. This morning ... no breakfast sandwiches available... absurd. Also, one barrista on her phone... and most mornings at the busy breakfast times, not unusual for a barrista to be on break. The service in this pharmacy has steadily went downhill since Wally left. The number of pharmacists that have come and gone in that short time is overwhelmingly ridiculous! They are now closed for lunch from 1-130, but I cannot tell you the number of times I've pulled up at 1240 in the drive through, and they were already closed for lunch; as well as the times I've pulled up after they were supposed to be open and they still had not opened.... having to wait another 15-20 minutes after 130 until they opened the drive thru window. I've even been in line in time for them to still be open at lunch, and had them literally close the drive thru window in my face as I pulled up( even though I had been waiting for the person in front of me to move forward and they saw me in line). I go to the pharmacy because I have to, because I'm not well. I do not go to the pharmacy to constantly wait on them, while they are sitting back there nonchalantly laughing and playing around like children. Then they tell me I'm gonna have to wait another 20 minutes as the box of ointment isn't ready yet. All that needs to be done is to stick a sticker on the box!!! Today my doctor called in a nasal spray early in the morning while I was at the office. I received a text from Kroger saying RX received, but not ready yet. I finally called them around 430 to find out when it would be ready. I was told by the pharmacist that my doctor had called in the RX, but it was actually an over the counter dose; so I would need to call him back and tell him it was the wrong dose. It seems a courtesy call could have been given this morning, when they sent the text telling me it was received but not ready. It's Friday, so now I cannot reach the doctors office for three more days! Common courtesy would have been to freaking call the patient!! I go in this evening, as I saw two doctors today. My dermatologist wrote two prescriptions , one for me, and one for my husband. His medication had to be ordered so we were told it would be ready on Monday. The young man showed me mine in the box, but then told me they would need to get it ready and it shouldn't be long.... maybe 10-15 minutes. So we decided to pick up a few groceries. We went back 25 minutes later, and they were all in the back laughing and talking again. Another young man came to the register, he never said hello or greeted me. I just started talking and said I'm here to pick up the prescription I dropped off a lil while ago. The original guy that had helped me interrupts and says " oh yeah that should be up here". The pharmacist who was there tonight was Bich Nguyen. She was the one that was supposed to be putting a sticker on the box with my info, yet she had not even touched it in the 25 minutes we had went grocery shopping. I had given them double the time they asked me to. I was then told I would need to wait longer. So I did, standing at the register. It took about 10 more minutes. It was a boxed ointment!!! Do yall all get a laugh at making people wait? People are not there because they want to be! I've been a nurse for 27 years now, and heads would roll in my ER if employees were standing around joking and laughing while customers were waiting to be seen. It's not appropriate, and It's not professional. It would be so much better, if the customer service was there still, but it's not!! Nobody at this pharmacy seems to care at all, and the previous staff that seemed caring have all left. I'm over it. I already drive 15 minutes and pass 3-4 pharmacies just to get my meds here, but I have many other choices and I'm going to start looking for someone who at least pretends to care!! The ambiance at this pharmacy as mentioned above, is child like laughing and joking behavior all the time. The lack of empathy is very evident. They are only there to collect their paycheck. If I could give them zero stars I would, which is awful considering I left a pharmacy very close to home just because of how nice Wally( the previous pharmacist) here was when I had to stop in and get my grand daughters meds one day. Great neighborhood community and friendly service! My go to for groceries especially with the points that I get for my Kroger Fuel Card! Very clean, shelves are restocked often, well-lit, organized layout, vast produce section and labeled clearly, spacious parking lot in front with several restaurant options, and a Kroger fuel center nearby. The amount of people vary depending on the day and when you go. It's family friendly and safe. There's curbside pickup available as well. Sometimes, there are Girl Scouts cookies being sold near the entrances during the cookie selling season. A superb place to get your grocery shopping list squared away! read more

The outside of the store appeared clean and orderly but when you walked in the shelves were picked over. Employees were rude and not very helpful when I asked directions to the bathroom. I rarely get a Starbucks drink inside a Kroger, but when I do I have always received excellent customer service. However, I have to say the employees working at the Starbucks located inside the Kroger at 20355 Cypresswood do not know what they are doing. Several months ago, I told the cashier that I thought I had points on my card that I wanted to redeem. I was charged for the drink without the cashier saying anything to me. When I realized I was charged I inquired why the points were not utilized. The cashier stated I did not have any points. When I got home, I checked my account. Sure enough, I had more than 200 points. Today I told the cashier twice that I had over 300 points and I wanted to redeem my points for my drink. She asked if I had my card, and I handed her the only card I have used in 7 plus years, which is a gift card tied to my account. Without saying anything or questioning me, she charged me for the drink. When I pointed out to her that I told her twice that I wanted to redeem my points and asked why she charged the card instead. She stated it was because I handed her a gift card. I asked why she didn't say anything to me since I was very clear I wanted to redeem the points and I would have explained that the gift card is tied to my account. She again stated you cannot redeem points with a gift card. I informed her no other Starbucks in any other Kroger seems to have an issue. She stated they cannot redeem points on a drink with a gift card; only the "gold" card. I did go to customer service to get my money back (had to be in cash). I still wanted my drink, but also wanted to verify that the Starbucks inside Kroger's has not changed the way they do business so I went to the Kroger located at 17455 Spring Cypress. All I stated was I had points i wanted to redeem, placed my order and handed her the card. Sure enough, without saying anything she redeemed the points for the drink. Since I had two different employees at the Cypresswood location refuse to redeem points, I can only surmise that it is either the management's decision not to let customers redeem their or points or the employees do not care and want to take the easiest route. read more

Oh my gosh. Worst Krogers ever. Ever. The staff sucks. I walked in right around 315 to find some ear swabs for a bad cut I had on my finger on turkey day. They closed at 4. I needed the swabs to help clean the wound and I asked this Mexican brunette woman with a bad attitude where it was. She said she didn't know with a whole lot of extra. How in tf do you work somewhere day in and day out and you don't know where something is? Target has an app that lets you know what item is on what isle and they even give you a freaking map. Walmart does the same. If my hand wouldn't have been bleeding, I could have done that, but that's what you get paid for, to help your guests. Find a new job, girl. read more

kroger has a wider selelction then heb & items are cheaper in price. many items heb carries are in smaller quantities & not the bigger same brand so they can get you to puchase it so they can make more of a profit, or don't have it on the shelves. kroger home deliveries are cheaper depening of hours whereas heb is not. when i say "no sustitutes" heb does not honor this. read more

wow this kroger is nice, very much like the Kroger at tuckerton/barker as far as size, it's 125m by 75m so huge. they have a lot of options inside including cork and tap wine and beer bar open 7 days a week and a crazy nice produce area, pan Asian sushi bar, a bistro, and a really nice cheese section actually with excellent labels with descriptions of their flavour/origin and even pairings! ok and the alcohol section is dope, they have a mix-a-six pack very well presented and scrumptious looking! pretty nice international section too, uh, check that an aisle and a half, wow! more variety in these shelves vs other Krogers that's for sure. don't even get me started on how many variations on sriracha they have, they even have their own store brand of it, and a gluten free (rolling eyes). will finish this later, I've got to finish this shopping run real quick... read more

First off i would never come to this kroger again they have the worst customer service ever. We had a lady in front of us asking for a discount that we where also interested in and i saw him do something on the computer and i thought he had given her the discount. So as soon as it was my turn i heard cashier(Desmen) say to another employee and i quote "you cant argue with that kind of customers cause you will always have issues" and to his surprise i showed him the cupon to get an extra 20% as mentioned on flyer in stands and he called his supervisor again for the cupón and told him it was the same as other lady but i did have the coupon with me to show.Supervisors name is Dominic he straight told me i can do it, so i told him but it says on the stands we can get it and i followed with lets go to the back so you can see it and his response was and i quote " no im not going" he had an atittude and no customer service what so ever, i understand if you tell me it was a miss print or it was something else an explenation not a straight no and looking at his watch like its almost closing time and i want to leave kind of thing. His solution was and i quote "you can buy it as is come back tomorrow ant talk to customer service if you belive you should have that extra discount they will fix it" and he followed with a " are you going to buy it or not" while we where going back en forward with it cashier Desmen was laughing the hole time i dont know if it was about us or about the supervisor because he did tell his supervisor the cupon says extra discount my wife even brought the flyer of the showroom and he still told him we cant do it. He was mad because i was asking him why we cant get it and he started telling me are you going to buy it or not and if you do buy it come back tomorrow with customer service and they will fix it. Use to be my go to spot, especially for health foods, but the lack of mask enforcement has forced me to stop going. On my last few visits I saw multiple people, usually families, walking around without any kind of mask on. The employees don't seem to enforce the mask policy and often I notice staff members wearing their masks below their nose. I'm disappointed because this location is right next to the hospital I work at. But I can't in good faith support a store that doesn't enforce safety measures and then go to work to treat people affected by COVID. I'll update my review if I learned that they have addressed the issue. read more

This is a new Kroger in my old neighborhood of Fairfield. The location is fine in that it's in a strip mall at the front of the neighborhood. As I have come to know about Kroger it has wide lanes, clearly marked aisles, and wide doors when walking into the store. The selection is varied and we do like their Simple Truth in house brand. This store actually has a bar that serves beer which I cannot remember seeing at any other Kroger. It is interesting but it was also closed when I walked into the store. The staff seemed fine and the prices are good. There is nothing wrong with this Kroger but as a South Texan with an HEB 300 yards away I just feel I am not going to visit this location much. read more

After moving to the area 4 months ago from the old and tired west side of Houston, this Kroger seemed like a song beacon compared to where I've shopped for the past 9 years. The location is huge, incredibly clean, and has many great deals using the app for 5x coupon specials. After switching to eating more fresh and organic foods, I shop here 3-4 times per week. Checking out at 7:18 Thursday 18th 4 managers were standing around by check out. Checkout was overflowing with people and when I asked them to open another lane not one of them could be bothered and said I should go into a 15 items or less. I used to work at Kroger. My managers would never say no to a customer. It was always yes right away even the most ridiculous request. I always enjoyed the friendly staff and help at our Kroger. However, the last several times that I have been in, a lot of staff members are on their cell phones instead of assisting with customers. They are not on break, I need to put that out there! They are super nice once they realize that someone needs help, but you have to stand there for a few minutes for them to realize you are even there. Most shoppers need an experience that is quick and easy. People get detoured if they feel frustrated because no one is helping...especially when staff is less than 3 feet away on their phone. read more

I do my regular shopping at HEB, but this Kroger Mktplace carries a few products and brands I love that my HEB doesn't carry. I'm not a fan of the meat department here (lower quality and selection than HEB), but the produce department is always fresh. The layout of the store is a little funky, and you may need a map the first few times you shop here. I don't see the need of the jewelry and clothing departments, but I don't think that steers people away from shopping here. This grocery is open pretty late and on certain holidays, which is very nice when you need something last minute. Also, this store is not as packed as the HEB next door, so that is a major plus if you don't want to deal with crowds. read more

My apologies for my harsh language, I am truly a frustrated customer!! Fairfield Kroger Marketplace at 20355 Cypresswood Drive, Cypress Texas 77433 has to be the worst store in Kroger's inventory!! Especially the customer service counter where you're greeted with facial expressions of disgust! On the afternoon of January 16th 2020, I purchased a coffee maker that was originally $39.99 but if you used your value card, the price was $19.99 (which was great!). I also saw a coffee mug for purchase next to other coffee mugs for $5 originally for $7 but without a barcode. I proceeded to the customer service counter to ask about the price and if I can purchase it for the $5 as the other coffee mugs were listed for. I was then met with the face of disgust and the repetitive comments, "there's no barcode to scan, someone took off the barcode". My reasonable response was, "I know, but there are others listed for $5 and because someone took off the barcode, it has an ugly sticky residue on it," and "may I speak with a manager?" He called for a manager and I kindly stepped aside for him to assist the next customer. 5mins later and still no manager, so I told him that was ok and purchased my coffee maker. A few days pass by, I opened my coffee make to only find it had previously been used. The frustration then sets in because I through away the box along with the receipt thinking since I purchased it from a Kroger Specialty store, the item was new. So on the evening of January 21st 2020, instead of going through the agony of waiting for a manager again. I simply took the merchandise back to the counter and told the customer service representative what happened. I knew that since I had neither box or receipt for proof of purchase, I expressed how items should be thoroughly inspected before placing them back on the shelf and simply left the coffee maker on the counter and walked out the store. Finally, I called this evening January 23rd 2020, to speak once again and final attempt to speak with a manager at a Kroger Marketplace. The customer service representative answered and I immediately requested to speak with a manager. I was then left on hold listening to the constant music and action of picking up & getting placed back on hold, picking up & placed back on hold until I just finally hung up the phone after 10min! THIS IS RIDICULOUS AND VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!! No customer should experience this from a conglomerate store like Kroger! Especially when it brags about these "Specialty Marketplaces" I will not recommend this store to anyone!! I will continue to go to my nearest Kroger store and even then at a minimal! The only reason I was in this store in the first place was to get a ring sized at Fred Meyers jewelers, which unfortunately, I have to visit this horrendous store again to pick my ring up once they're done. PLEASE!! PLEASE!! Speak with your managers because they either feel they're too good now to address customers or need to get retrained all over again!! Address your customer service counter as well because no customer should feel as though they're being a nuisance or a criminal for approaching them in the first place!
