This is my local neighborhood H-E-B, and honestly, it's one of my favorite things about moving to Texas (coming from Wisconsin). From day one, H-E-B has been a standout for me. This location is always clean, well-stocked, and organized. I can count on being able to find what I came for almost every time. The management and staff are friendly, professional, and quick to resolve any issues. Most recently, I ordered a birthday cake for my daughter. While the bakery did make a mistake at first, management immediately stepped in, stood by me, and made sure everything was corrected. They really showed that they care about their customers. I've visited several H-E-B stores around Houston, but this one is by far the best. Reliable, clean, and well-managed -- definitely my go-to store. read more

In the last couple of years this H‑E‑B just doesn't seem to care about the Corporation's reputation. I don't feel I need to take time and energy to list everything wrong with this store-not my job-that's what you're paying those big Whig managers to do-like the woman all dressed up professionally walking down the aisle looking at her phone. I just have to say, I am amazed my H‑E‑B. With the Arctic blast hitting Houston and surrounding are super hard last week. HEB is a rock star! They hit the ground running on getting their stores stocked immediately. When it was safe to send their 18 wheelers out for deliveries they were ready. I went Sunday morning and I saw the parking lot was completely full and I really thought I don't they would not have anything I need. SURPRISE - they had 98% of what I needed. WAY TO GO H‑E‑B! This shows me they have a great upper management team and store managers that really work to get all our life's back to "normal". When the Arctic blast was coming in there was people in line to pay and the power went out. Instead of making all those people leave without any groceries, they said take what you have in your cart and be safe. Truly amazing company. I came to Cypress H-E-B store for my weekly grocery shopping yesterday. I was trying to prove to my friends that you can cook some delicious Chinese food like if you were in or near Chinatown. As I'm hosting a virtual dumpling party this month, I purposely drove 40 miles outside of Chinatown to locate ingredients. So, I can relate to my audience. I found everything to make dumpling fillings, just not the wrap. Fortunately, they got decent flours variety to choose from. I would have to add other instructions. I guess it was the timing of my visit. I noticed I was the only Asian customer in the store when I started shopping at produce department. It's like I had another set of eyes behind my head to spot people's behavior. I got little concerned. So, I started to do zigzagging through the store to complete my shopping. Took a while, but it was also best way to avoid people coughing as I walk by them. Employees are pretty nice, a lot better than the H-E-B store in Chinatown and Kroger store on Westheimer. Fresh! This place is a great place to go grocery shopping! They had everything we were looking for- tortillas! They have these butter tortillas that they only seem to sell in Houston- we don't even have them in San Antonio! Cherish them, Cypress. They have an app that lets you save all kinds of money and get your shopping list coordinated with the best deals. When I went, it was Tex-Fest, a festival centered around Texas Independence Day, with all kinds of locally made food on sale. They even have Texas shaped chicken nuggets! The aisles were wide, and they had all kinds of cool fresh stuff to check out. This HEB is a bit fancier than others that I've been to, but nowhere near the size of the one further outside of town on 290. The service was great, and the baggers were friendly. read more

Update: Called 1-800-432-3113 and left my contact info. No follow up and the store never reached out. AVOID this store. I HATE this store. Staff has ZERO customer service skills. Cashiers roll their eyes at you and don't greet you. Personal shoppers and shelf stockers always want to bombard you out of the way and not say excuse me. The pharmacy is super slow and doesn't have a sense of urgency. One time I came and a car's windows were shattered. The cart people were totally unconcerned and ignored the vehicle. HEB THE LITTLE STORE THAT LIES AGAIN AND AGAIN I patronized the HEB grocery store in Cypress Texas, the 24224 Northwest Fwy Cypress, TX 77429. On not 1, not 2, but three occasions I received unsanitary seafood from this location. Today the store manager, who is rude, abusive and a bull bamboozled the Harris Country Health Department telling them that they ALWAYS WRAP IN PLASTIC AND PAPER, THEN BAG THEIR SEAFOOD -- THAT THIS IS THE PROPER PROTOCOL. Per the inspector who fell for the lie, she said I could find no violations. Well DUH, how could you when the snakes in the grass at this location are ready to put on a clown show -- Shout out to the Harris county Health department for not doing their job a second time because most likely, you are bought and paid for by HEB, Each time I received my crab legs, there was no paper no plastic-- just a single bag that each time arrived OPEN to my door -- and to think that management at this store would insist that this is sanitary, ok for humans to eat food that is not properly protected -- at one point the manager went on to blame FAVOR -- the delivery company for why my seafood was unwrapped and unsanitary!! Imagine what kind of integrity is working in high places for HEB. to be bullied by a male store manager who would tell me, I was not getting a refund on more than one occasion and to have that same manager tell me that the only way I was going to get a refund was to inconvenience myself, go back to the store and return the items -- when it was their fault 100% that allowed unsanitary seafood to leave the store. I have pictures for each occasion but it seems that to HEB they just attempt to bully you and make you accept low class and lack of integrity behavior. Imagine working for a manager who actually lies, and then is placed in charge of a department of people who they teach to lie as well?? And just for the record, I did get my refund each time because they HEB were in the wrong and they believe they can push you around and make you break -- but see, GOD does not like ugly. and it was wholly unnecessary that this location would allow unrighteousness to prevail. I am just one person but I am not a person who will be pushed around. I will never accept poor service or unsanitary food that literally arrives open to my door, with no protection -- and to think HEB would be fine with having their customers eat unsanitary food as long as they could keep your money. Not on my watch HEB -- not on my watch. AND its doubly a shame that the Harris County Health Department has allowed themselves to be bought and bamboozled by underhanded representative's of HEB -- The light will be shown on your practices HEB. Makes you wonder how much money has exchanged hands on the down low between HEB and the health department, neither of their representatives who investigated could I take seriously -- it was all a sham show-- and the proof has been proven that HEB lies again and again!!! Went to this location yesterday for a specific type of turkey breast that iv purchased in the past, I couldn't find it, went to the meat counter and asked if they had any in the back, very nice lady( I forgot to get her name) said they're out of stock, but will check, she came back and said they were waiting on more to arrive but no sure when. I went to the display cases working on plan B when she came out, tapped me on the shoulder, and said they found a case of them! Apparently she talked to a co worker, who helped her find them. I shop at this HEB since they opened here. The service have gone way down since that time. The price has not. I went to the location on Fry Rd. The service is twice better than this location, why is that? isn't HEB owned by the same corporation? The products and produce are way better and the availability is much more at the Fry location. Even this HEB is closer to my home, but I will start shopping at the Fry location more now even it is a longer drive.. Management please take note... read more

I like this store AND there are some really great people working there but I'm a bit miffed today. I was carrying a sushi platter when the sushi guy comes up to me and pulls it out of my hands. "..sorry, wrong price " He comes back a few minutes later and puts the tray back in the cooler. He didn't hand it back to me. Yes, the tray was now $7 more, just like that. Maybe I'm overreacting. Go ahead and Reprice things in the cooler if you want but I don't think you can reprice items in a shopper's cart NOR should you "Yoink" something out of a customer's hand an slap a higher price on it. This HEB is by far the best in Houston - yes, even better than the one on Buffalo Speedway. They've got some sort of feng shui going on that makes grocery shopping a breeze. Everything flows. No need to go back and run around all the aisle. Start with produce, into meets, into the cheese market (the biggest one I've seen so far at a HEB), wine, perishable goods then frozen. The aisles are wider too. Might be that suburban folks are the heftier kind, but it works for me! read more

This place is an absolute mad house on Sundays! Avoid at all cost (primarily so I won't have so many people to contend with lol). 98% of the staff is very friendly. Large bakery and fresh in house cheeses, & seafood departments. Lots of options in every department in this HEB that you might not find in typical grocery stores. The food in the deli area is absolutely divine. Like seriously, it's some good food in those cases. 1 entree + 1 side $4, 1 entree + 2 sides $6 or premium entree (salmon & shrimp $8). Sometimes they have specials, 1 entree + 2 sides $5. My faves are the tilapia, asparagus and roasted veggies but you can't lose. They offer samples so taste first, if need be. Take it home, heat it up and definite restaurant quality that you'd easily pay double for anywhere else. They have side tables and a microwave if you want to heat and eat there, as well. Traffic is so bad over here M-F, there is no way in all the heaven, hell or earth would I stop during peak times. Thank God they don't subscribe to the Walmart philosophy of wanting a crowded store but only have 4 checkout lanes open. You will not wait 20 years to checkout here. read more

This may be the coolest grocery store I have ever been to. It is huge and has everything you could possibly want. There is an amazing seafood section with fresh Gulf seafood and fresh imported fish. Lobster tails, tiger shrimp, live lobsters, etc. are all available for purchase. Their liquor wine and beer section is also amazing. There was a lady offering tastes of wine, and you can make your own six pack of beer or wine. I opted for six packs of smithwick's and the seasonal shiner. Yum. The store offers "meal deals" where you can get everything to make a certain meal. We got the meal deal for chicken fajitas, and the chicken was awesome. HEBs are the Whataburgers of the grocery chains. It's pretty Texas, good service, and quality goods. This location in Cypress lives up to its potential with the well lit, spacious lanes to the robust selection of meat and seafood. Aisle after aisle of all the usual goods, this location also has a florist section, a cafe, and some additional stores within the store. I usually come at night and even then the service is always good. Even better, there are usually cashiers open and ready to check out. You won't find that at Wally World as they tend to leave just enough cashiers to quell a riot. HEB makes sure there's enough to keep the lines moving. Tip: this location has gas pumps and they are usually cheap, if not the cheapest, in the area. read more

I enjoy shopping at HEB! It is my favorite grocery store. Everything is nicely organized, clean and fresh. The staff is very nice, and they go out of their way to help you find an item. They also have the best prices in comparison to other competitors. The only con I have for this location which happens later at night is the blocking of the right entrance/exit doors. This store is absolutely horrible now. They are jamming in new isles of Mexican product where you can't even walk down the isles now. Reminds me of Food Town or Walmart nastiness. First they take all the premium parking spots for their moribund online orders. Lazy employees so they make customers that come to the store walk 1/2 a mile to get inside...once inside the isles are too small to get their gargantuan baskets through them. Here's another HEB done right. It may not be a Plus! but it satisfies just as much. And I don't really want to buy my clothes from here anyway. This location often has really cool seafood specials, like live crawfish (and a trailer that cranks them out), lobsters, etc, that other HEBs I've been to don't have. Also the largest alcohol selection by a comfortable margin. But what makes this the best HEB around are their discounts. They have many more coupons and deals posted throughout the store than all the other HEBs in the Katy/cypress area on a regular basis. Like diapers for example, they almost always have some crazy good deal on pampers that mathematically beats out other locations, significantly. I always seem to get lucky on coupons here, it feels like each item on my list always has a sling of coupons waiting. And I shop all the HEBs around, but again, this is the one place that truly keeps up with all this. Customer service is exceptional as well, unsurprising because it's Fairfield. Not to mention always the lowest gas price. Unfortunate it's not the closest anymore, but fortunate to have another decent HEB closer anyway. read more

Came here at about a quarter to Wleven on a Sunday... It was open. Brightly lit and clean interior. The parking lot had plenty of spaces (could be due to the time of night). Parking lot itself was well kept, not a bunch of carts lying around like wandering sheep blocking up parking spaces. Upon entering HEB looks much the same as a Walmart, they even have a similar layout going. Plenty of help and lots of smiling faces. More than I can say for Walmart employees who always have an attitude no matter which Walmart I shop at. I read somewhere that the company has a policy of donating 5% of its pre-tax profits to charity annually. That's sounds pretty decent. The snack selection is pretty diverse, not as much as Walmart, but close. The deli and cheese station was closed at the time of night I went but it looked like it had a healthy variety of both. I was craving a donut, but all the ones that were left were a bit weak (again, this is likely due to the time I visited) but surprisingly all the donuts were soft and moist. Not the least bit stale. Prices were comparable to Walmart. They had a lot of good deals and coupons along each aisle that you can tear off and bring to the register. This I disagree with, they can just take the discount off at the register without involving extra paper. Think of the environment HEB! Overall, I like this store. Makes me feel a teensy bit better shopping here than Walmart, though I admit I haven't looked THAT deep into their business practices. I wish we had one of these in New York City (hell, I'd even take a Walmart in NYC! I'm a struggling grad student on a very tight budget!) but I know NYC hates these "mom and pop shop" destroying stores. So I stocked up while I was here for my flight back to NYC read more

Sunday morning 2\14\21 No baskets cleaned in center aisle, notice employee spraying the entire baskets with a pump sprayer and stating "You can grab a basket, wipe it off with paper towels over there." Entered store completed my shopping, only to find no one bagging my groceries, only one seen, now I help the cashier bag my $230..dollars of groceries. I really like your store. I am very very disappointed in HEB's crawfish. I went in Saturday March 25, 2023 and I purchased 3 pounds of crawfish and shrimp. When I got home and opened the bag the first one I peeled and gave it to my husband it was ok he liked it. As I began to peel the next one the crawfish meat in the tail was mushey. I did not eat that one. I got another one and began to peel and it was mushey. I got another one it was mushey. I got another one it was mushey and dry. I kept on peeling them until I could find a good one. I was never able to. So because I kept getting all the mushey crawfish. I took a deep smell into the bag and the crawfish had an old smelly smell that was undesireable. I lost my appetite . I threw them way along with the shrimp. I knew at that point they were not safe to eat. I purchased some crawfish and shrimp from the 290 and Barker Cypress location 2 weeks prior and they were fresh and juicy with a delightful smell. read more

Today 11/07/2018 at approximately 1730 I was in the produce section. One of their employees, Adolfo was stocking Tomato's. He dropped Tomatoes on the floor. After finishing stocking he looked around, then picked up the Tomato's and proceeded to put them on the rack to sell. I asked for a manager at which time he removed them. I reported this to the Store Director (I think Vincent) and he could hardly care. There is no telling what is on that floor, then to have it put on the shelf. To be sold to people. H-E-B Here Everything is Better! Why, yes it is! I've been shopping at my local Kroger now for about 6 months and man, I thought Kroger seemed expensive! Then I go here and its totally awesome! Fresh meats, great deli, lots of awesome pre-made QUALITY salads, an entire cheese bar, not to mention fresh sushi, bakery, a completely awesome wine section and acres and acres of groceries! And its CHEAPER than Kroger! As others have stated, its like Central Market, but with everything you need, plus you can actually PARK here! Yes, there are advantages of living in the suburbs and one is parking :) I am not a huge fan of seafood, but I know that good seafood doesn't smell like "fish" when its fresh! And when you have an entire seafood department with all that fish and you can't smell it, you know its fresh! And the store is clean -- immaculate with bright shiny lamps and well stocked wide aisles. Sorry Kroger, yes you are convenient for me, but I'm making this my new home for groceries! This is EXACTLY what Cypress needed for so long. A place that is an actual market. It's just like a Central Market in terms of the delicious foods they have, but it's also got the perks of an HEB so you can still buy regular things like toilet paper. Organics meets practical. To be honest, I am a Whole Foods kinda gal. However, my love for saving time and gas money outweighs my love for Whole Foods. Sadly, this is the consequence of living wayyyyy out here on this side of town. But that's a-okay with me because I live near this awesome HEB. This HEB is probably the best supermarket in the Cypress-area. Yep, I said it. Probably the BEST in the area. This place always has the freshest foods and the MOST friendliest staff. I always see a nice older gentleman in the meat department helping me and other customers each and every time I am shopping for groceries. The staff are always helpful and they always have a smile on their face. Makes the experience enjoyable, I would say. The foods here are always kept fresh. None of that expired stuff. The food prices are reasonable and the store is kept extremely clean. Plus, the store offers a large variety of ethnic foods from Mexican to Asian. My favorite grocery store in Cypress. Fresh seafood and plenty of hard to find items. Love the FRE non alcoholic wine. Great prices when u buy 6. Best part is that although its packed often with customers the lines go very fast. My only complaint is the cheese section reeks. I love cheese but they have so many types, including Limburger cheese, that are extremely smelly where it's almost unbearable to walk through. read more
