I've walked in three times in the hopes that I caught them on a bad day, but on each occasion, all staff members are on the phone and might as well be talking to people calling the online service number. You would think the point of an in person store is to serve people in person. I would recommend making purchases online, as going into the store is not at all helpful.

And this didn't disappoint because I found myself wanting to recreate a few rooms with their gorgeous furniture, but for now I settled on some new placemats. Unfortunately, they didn't have the placemats I wanted in stock, but the lovely sales associate ordered them for me with a store code for free shipping and 15% off. Score! The outdoor space is gorgeous and I couldn't help, but just sit down for a few to check my email. I wish they went the RH store route with drinks and food out here because it really is the perfect setting and I could see myself enjoying many girls nights out in this space with a drink in hand. Welcome to the neighborhood Serena & Lily!

Quick notes on furniture shopping:…read more I learned of Casa Spazio from the lounge setup at Expo Chicago at Navy Pier. I went in to the store a few days later and really patient, friendly service. I loved two of their sofa pieces with movable backs and the flexibility on customizing it. Prices were competitive for the european contemporary style. The downstairs area had sale pieces too. I got a different sofa from elsewhere, but this place was on my top 5 after looking at about 30 stores.

After waiting 14 weeks for these cabinets, we received this incredibly cheap looking product. The craftsmanship is terrible (see pictures) as the doors don't even align with the frame (note, 2 cabinets were over $1,500, you wouldn't think they looked like someone made them without tools). We instantly told them about the issue and their response was basically "sorry, you ordered them". These were not custom but simply a standard order for merchandise from their vendor yet they refuse to stand behind their product or recommendation and accept a return. Wasted lots of time and money dealing with this awful situation. Disreputable business.

It's a nice shop with some lovely items. What drew me in was seeing some nice photo frames when I peeked in the windows; they had some nice ones but not quite what I was looking for. They had 15% off Christmas stuff when I was in but I didn't see anything I needed (and other similar shops I'd visited in Uptown, Andersonville, Wilmette, and even down the street in Winnetka had 40-60% off Christmas items, so it was easy to pass). Staff were friendly and I was greeted by both employees within moments of entering, both happy to help me find anything if needed. If you're looking for a gift, decorating a home, or need advice on either, Madarine Home would not be a bad place to shop. There's a step in order to enter the store, so you may want to call and find out if they have an accessible entrance if you can't manage the step. There's parking all around this shopping district that is free.

We trust their judgement, and trust that they would find the best solution for us, and they did. They listened actively to what we like or want. Because they used to own a chain of furniture stores, they have a network of suppliers that they can tap into. They have good tastes, but more importantly, they are very hands on. They don't mind doing the work themselves, whether it's hanging art, installing lights, etc. We also very much appreciate that they repurposed our old furniture and gave them new life by finding great spaces for each piece. She was incredibly responsive and respectful of our budget and scope, and she made sure every member of our family felt included and heard throughout the process. Stephanie is also truly hands-on with vendors, handling all of those relationships directly, which saved us significant time and stress. Her network of resources is impressive and made a real difference in the options available to us. What really sets her apart is her GC license. She understands how individual projects connect to the broader systems of a home and how all the pieces fit together -- a holistic perspective you don't always find in an interior designer. We'd recommend Stephanie without hesitation.

Stephanie helped me integrate some of my existing furniture with beautiful new pieces to create a beautiful, functional living room. What was one large open space is now two curated areas-- one for watching TV and relaxing, the other a cozy area for reading and entertaining. Stephanie quickly helped me identify my "style" and selected options for rugs, lighting, and seating that I would not have been able to access on my own. She made me (and my partner) feel comfortable, listened to several rounds of feedback, and did it all with grace, patience, and on budget. I look forward to continuing to work with her.

During our 2-hour consultation, Dawn not only found a color that perfectly matched our style, counters, and backsplash but also spotted opportunities to refresh the colors in the dining room and entry to bring the whole design together. Her color savvy is fantastic, and she asked great questions and listened carefully to incorporate our preferences and ideas. She left us with paint swatches for all three rooms, and the new colors look incredible. Dawn's color consultation more than exceeded our expectations, but she didn't stop there! She also suggested ways to update the kitchen and dining room lighting to be more functional and coordinated. Her after-visit email summary included links to all of the ideas she had offered, including multiple options for fixtures that were very affordable and perfect for our spaces. We love the new lighting. To top it all off, when we told Dawn about our longer-term goal of renovating our kitchen, she offered fantastic ideas for reconfiguring the space to make it more functional and appealing. She followed up with detailed recommendations in her after-visit email summary and included rough drawings to help us visualize thew space. The 2-hour consultation with Dawn was an incredible value, and we definitely want to work with her on the kitchen renovation project!
