However, after our experience this past Sunday, I am incredibly frustrated to say that we will not be returning. The issues began before we sat down. We attempted to order the Valentine's Special as advertised, only to be told it wasn't available. When another member of our party tried to order a luncheon item, we were told it wasn't served on Sundays--despite the menu giving no indication of such a restriction. The service and food quality only declined from there. We ordered a large clam strip dinner, a lobster scampi, and a sea scallop dinner. After an excessively long wait, the food finally arrived, but it was a mess. My "large" clam strip dinner was relatively small, and instead of the lobster scampi, we were brought a lobster mac and cheese. When I informed the waitress of the mistake, she took the mac and cheese back, but it took another five minutes just for her to return and officially put the "rush" order in for the scampi. By the time my wife's meal finally arrived, the rest of us were completely finished eating. To make matters worse, the scampi was a total letdown--I've never seen a scampi served with a cheese sauce and no tomatoes. It was so unappealing she couldn't even finish it. To top off a day of errors, the waitress approached us after we placed the corrected scampi order to tell us we owed more money because she had initially charged us for the wrong item. Being asked to pay an upcharge for a mistake made by staff, especially after the kitchen failed to have the meal ready with the rest of the table, is completely unacceptable. We have enjoyed coming here in the past, but after the lack of professionalism and poor food quality we've seen over our last few visits, we have lost our confidence in this restaurant.

The french fries hold their own too. The remodel is beautiful--bright, clean, and the boat-inspired bar adds a fun touch. It's an order-at-the-counter setup with friendly, upbeat staff that make the place feel welcoming and relaxed. Yes, it's a bit on the pricey side, but it's seafood done right, and everything I've tried has been well worth it. Bonus: their ice cream menu is massive and consistently delicious. A real gem for casual coastal fare inland.

The lot was small but many people were coming in and out so we didn't have to wait long to get a parking spot or outdoor seating. There are two shops: the deli and market with different vibes and items inside. The market is a quick shop with some snacks, drinks, coffee, and knickknacks. The deli is where the hot/cooked foods are at with some other specialty foods. The food was overall ok, nothing noteworthy. The main attraction is their Mac and cheese that had been circulating my IG feed. Don't think it's life changing but the shops have curated selections of local goods that are reasonable priced to get some last minute treats. Pass on the general tso(?) and the potstickers in my opinion unless you're really craving it. The desserts looked amazing and would definitely get one next time

We were able to get a spot in front with no issue, but I imagine that this was because it was a week day. We chose the Mac and cheese and the maple pulled pork. Both were worth the hype in my opinion. The mac and cheese was super creamy and paired well with the tender pulled pork. The baked goods were nothing to write home about. Maybe we just chose the wrong items? We tried: Oatmeal cookie - good, but not amazing. Chocolate chunk/ peanut butter cookie - stale as heck and basically inedible. I always am leery of saran wrapped cookies that are out on display because its impossible to know if there are actually fresh. The giant stacks of cookies were too enticing to pass up on. The chocolate cookie we purchased was definitely not fresh at all. $3.29 down the tubes - lesson on saran wrapped cookies learned (again). Carrot cake whoopie pie and original whoopie pie - both tasty, but the cake was too thick for my personal liking. We sat in the small outdoor seating area to eat. This was a nice little reprieve from the car ride.

The restaurant is set up to handle a steady stream of travelers, with self-service ordering kiosks near the entrance that help keep orders organized. The dining area is functional and provides a place to take a short break from the road, although it can feel a little dated and dim depending on the time of day. The menu is exactly what you would expect from McDonald's, which is part of the appeal when you are on a long drive and want something familiar. I ordered a Quarter Pounder meal, and it came out hot and satisfying. The fries were fresh, crisp, and well salted, and grabbing a cold drink before getting back on the highway made for a quick and easy meal. It is the kind of stop where the consistency of the food is more important than anything else, and it delivered on that. The biggest downside was the pace of service during busy travel times. Even with the self-service kiosks helping move orders through the system, the pickup area became crowded, and the wait felt longer than I expected for a highway service plaza. The staff was clearly working hard to keep up with the steady flow of customers, but the volume of travelers made the process feel slower than it probably should have been. Overall, this McDonald's serves its purpose well as a convenient place to grab a quick meal without leaving the Massachusetts Turnpike. It may not be somewhere you would go out of your way to visit, but when you need a dependable stop to refuel before getting back on the road, it gets the job done.

There are no ordering kiosks, and 4 out of 5 app orders we attempted were cancelled after making them, so goodbye to any discounts or deals or earning points on your order. The app says they have the buy one, get the second for $1 deal, but it didn't properly register the discount (order was cancelled anyway), and the person at the register confirmed they don't have that. At least the person working there was nice, because that was the only positive of the entire ordering experience. The food we eventually got was fine, but the usual service plaza pricing, the lines since there's no other way to get food, and the frustrating, terrible ordering experience sucked. I realize they have no real incentive to do better, since there isn't really much competition for this location on a toll road, but it doesn't have to be this bad.
