    Superman
    Chad H.

Local delicatessen located in the Burncoat neighborhood. I was craving a big sub on this warm summer afternoon so decided check them out. I went with the Superman, a beautiful combination of roast beef, ham, turkey with all the toppings. My favorite aspect of the sandwich is their Italian bread - it has the perfect crunch to fluff ratio. If you're not feeling a sandwich they have plenty of salads and even feature a cold case with different pastas and lasagna. The lasagna definitely caught my attention. They are taken bake style so I will definitely have to try them at some point. The employees were super friendly and the service was fast. The sub itself it was filling enough to split between my wife and I. I'm super stoked this place is in my neighborhood will definitely return on a frequent basis.

Great prices and big portions however just alright. The black bean burger was just ok I liked the toppings and roll more. We made our own fries they are not from the restaurant. The Italian sandwiches were liked well by my relatives maybe next time I will order that instead but maybe if my burger was a little less mushy and more dense I would have enjoyed it more.

Huge grinders on the best bread EVER!!! The bread is fresh, homemade, and absolutely delicious!!! Great selection of chips and fantastic sandwiches.

    Special pulled pork

Horrible service (woman walked away when we approached the order counter, went in back and just stood there muttering something about having to do inventory (we could clearly see & hear her). I ordered a sandwich with NO cheese, tomato's, or anything else, "just the bread and pulled pork". sandwich came out with melted cheeses. While waiting three people asked us, "did you pay yet?" They are very disorganized. Food is just cheap cold cuts. And their "hot" sandwiches are just heated up in standard microwaves. Why go to this place when there are so many other better places (e.g., Steve's Pizza about 1 mile away)!!!! Long story short: bad service, incorrect order, "hot" sandwich was barely warm, etc all equal NEVER GO HERE.

    Chicken Cutlet Parmesan

Mrs B decided to surprise me for lunch today and this is where she took me. She had been here before, this was my first time here. I'd been past here hundreds of times before and never noticed Elsa's before. Walking in reminded me a lot of a NY style deli. This is the kind of place I'm used to patronizing as opposed to Subway. My only complaint is that I didn't see a breakfast menu. We walked up to the counter and grabbed a menu and sat down at a table to look at our many choices. Mrs B chose a B & P Italian, I zeroed in on a Chicken Cutlet Parmesan. The sandwiches were huge and tasted great. The only thing I would have changed is having my sandwich toasted, but that's on me, not the staff. The staff was great. Our server was friendly and our wait was minimal. She was nice enough to bring our food out to us as were both still on crutches. While this was my first time here, I'm sure it will not be my last.

A heck of a lot of food for under $15

Food- 4/5 Overall experience- 5/5…read more It was a fun spot to stop at to break up our drive back to Boston. The lot was small but many people were coming in and out so we didn't have to wait long to get a parking spot or outdoor seating. There are two shops: the deli and market with different vibes and items inside. The market is a quick shop with some snacks, drinks, coffee, and knickknacks. The deli is where the hot/cooked foods are at with some other specialty foods. The food was overall ok, nothing noteworthy. The main attraction is their Mac and cheese that had been circulating my IG feed. Don't think it's life changing but the shops have curated selections of local goods that are reasonable priced to get some last minute treats. Pass on the general tso(?) and the potstickers in my opinion unless you're really craving it. The desserts looked amazing and would definitely get one next time

We were able to get a spot in front with no issue, but I imagine that this was because it was a week day. We chose the Mac and cheese and the maple pulled pork. Both were worth the hype in my opinion. The mac and cheese was super creamy and paired well with the tender pulled pork. The baked goods were nothing to write home about. Maybe we just chose the wrong items? We tried: Oatmeal cookie - good, but not amazing. Chocolate chunk/ peanut butter cookie - stale as heck and basically inedible. I always am leery of saran wrapped cookies that are out on display because its impossible to know if there are actually fresh. The giant stacks of cookies were too enticing to pass up on. The chocolate cookie we purchased was definitely not fresh at all. $3.29 down the tubes - lesson on saran wrapped cookies learned (again). Carrot cake whoopie pie and original whoopie pie - both tasty, but the cake was too thick for my personal liking. We sat in the small outdoor seating area to eat. This was a nice little reprieve from the car ride.

The star of the show is the sandwich selection, all on a choice of focaccia or seeded roll, with many including stracciatella, a thick, white, creamy, Buratta-like cheese. Almost every item in the store-- from meats to cheeses to drinks to candies and snacks-- is imported from Italy and you can taste the difference. This ain't your daddy's Boar's Head. -- Tutto: Tried on focaccia, with Mortadella, Soppressata, Capicola, Prosciutto, Provolone, Stracciatella Cheese, Tomatoes, Onions, Pickles, Hot Cherry Peppers, and Garden Greens. Very creamy cheese, almost mayoey in texture. It took some adjustment on my first try, but I got used to it quickly. Strong flavors overall. Very enjoyable. -- Matto: Tried (on two different visits) on a grilled seeded roll, this packed Prosciutto, Soppressata, Sharp Provolone, and Hot Cherry Peppers. Bold flavors from the coldcuts, sharp cheese, and perfectly toasted bread, all in the right proportions to enjoy every flavor and texture. This was spectacular and will be a repeat sandwich for many visits to come. Excellent sandwiches. Nice people. Easy ordering via Toast (they don't have a website). Limited hours-- weekday lunches only-- and hard to spot, but in the same parking lot as the convenience store. I'm not an authority on Italian sandwiches but I've had my fair share from the "name" places in and around Boston, and this unknown gem from the outer suburbs ranks right up there with them. Some may argue they charge Boston prices, but for Boston quality without the Boston hassle, well worth it. Solidly in my lunch rotation.
