The Tangy Crab was a home run. We were there for the crab legs and that's exactly what we got. The bar had a bottle of prosecco that wasn't on the menu. Getting to have bubbles with our crab legs just topped off the visit. Saraphina was our server. She's very soft spoken but an absolute gem. It's an hour drive from my house but I will definitely be back when I'm the area.

At first I thought the Seafood Boil were run by Vietnamese, only to realize the restaurant was operated by Chinese cooks. Kid server recommended the Blue Punch and I ordered another Margarita Lime since it was Happy Hour on a Monday. I started off with a Philly Eggrolls...pretty mid...exactly what you'd expect out of a Sysco Catalog because c'Mon who in their right mind will hand roll a Philly Egg Roll...let alone trays upon trays everyday in the back kitchen. It was salty, and over powdered by wannabephillycheescakeness. Next the Raw Oysters...these were the highlight of the night...I know they may have been frozen..but in all honesty it's been 3 hours since I swallowed 6 oysters and I'm still alive. Probably the cocktails aided in killing any excess bacteria.. And onto the main entree, I went with their signature boil and just want to go on the record. The shrimps will taste better with head on. The crab legs were good. The thing I didn't feel was up to my expectations was their house sauce that they boil everything together in. It lacked a punch, it lacked flavor. There was an overall lack of Garlic, Lemon Zest, Lemon Pepper, White Pepper and Brown Pepper, and there was a lack of MSG, and also lack of cayenne peppers and ghost pepper powders. And because of this, I'm giving the Boil a grade of C. Service was A+ Cocktails were B+ Oysters were A Appetizers were C Boil was C So the average was 3.5 to 4 stars out of 5. I forgot about the lobster bisque...I know it's not real lobster, they usually put langastinio crawfish in there...but the soup was too Salty.

I was excited when I heard about this place a month or so, since Michigan is a seafood wasteland,…read morebut at the time they weren't offering delivery to my neighborhood which is only 5 mins away from them but hey. I saw through my DoorDash subsriction that they now have expanded delivery so placed an order for the Combo A (snow crab, shrinp, sausage) and the fried calamari. The calamari came with a sweet dipping sauce like you'd get with crab rangoon at an asian restaurant. Not impressed, but fortunately had some aioli handy. Much prefer the tempura calamari by Sushi Ya or Sansu, or Ruckus Ramen or Bravo. The Combo had the King Crab seasoning which was very good. But the crab legs was a total disappointment, offering maybe 2 oz of crab out of what was supposed to be a half pound. Skinny legs with no meat in them. Also seemed to be short on the half pound of shrimp. These looked to be about the 16/20 size which means there should have been 8 shrimp in the order. I counted 5. Finally there was way too much sausage relative to all the other stuff. I'd like to give these guys a shot so I'll probably order again but not repeat this order. One idea is to order a small boiled order with the seasoning, but get the crab legs at Meijer! Btw, you'll need to have seafood tools to get all the crab meat out (scissors, pliers, crab/lobster picks) . Very messy too! One thing I'd like to see from these guys is a raw oyster bar!

Same for the snow crab. When you break the crab legs the meat is stuck to the shell instead of sliding out of the shell. For the price they charge they should not reheat previously steamed seafood.

I realize that it has been decades since visiting Cheddars. I will not wait that long for the next…read moretime. The place is conveniently located on Saginaw HWY along with a lot of other eateries. There is lots of parking. The restaurant has some mileage to it as it is a bit dated, but I liked it. We enjoyed the big booths and large table. Lucky it was large because we ordered more than a few things. To start, we ordered the onion rings and the fried cheese for our appetizers. They were both quite good, but my favorite was the onion rings fried to perfection. Light and crunchy and just a great bite. We also ordered what Cheddars calls the painkiller. It is a large tasty drink that is sort of a combination of a piña colada Meets a Mai Thai. The meals included the Key West chicken and it comes with rice and two sides. It has a kick to it and it's really flavorful and tender. We also ordered the sirloin and the hand breaded chicken tenders. Both were quite delicious and I love the crunch on the chicken tenders. The sides were also really nice and they included the sweet carrots and the broccoli cheese casserole along with crispy fries. This was quite a meal and it filled us up in a very happy way. We ate up and we left very happy and full with the idea of returning here soon. I don't live around here but when I visit this area, I will definitely stop here again.

Floors everywhere were extremely dirty, bathrooms dirty, and when I peaked inside the kitchen (while walking by) so filthy (to be honest, we considered leaving before even ordering anything!). HOSTESS & SERVER: The hostesses were fine, not rude but not friendly either. Our server (male with dark hair) was very nice, he at times gave off a vibe of being new. The service is still very SLOW, so plan to be sitting awhile waiting to order, get food, etc. FOOD: This is what we ordered.... Cheddars Trio Sampler -- 3 Choices were: Chicken Tenders, Wisconsin Cheese Bites, and Queso Fries. Taste: Chicken tenders were good, cheese bites were very good (greasy though), queso fries were alright. Size: average. Price: $12.49 Cheddars Trio Sampler -- 3 Choices were: Chicken Tenders, Chips & Queso w/meat, and Queso Fries. Taste: Chicken tenders were good, chips were good, queso with meat was fine, queso fries were alright. Size: average. Price: $12.49 Monte Cristo -- Taste: it was alright but found it was too sweet and got sickening to eat after the first piece. Size: average. Price: $11.99 Baby Back Ribs -- Taste: very dry. Overall flavor was alright but we had a hard time getting past how dry and tough they were. Greens beans were not very good. Mashed potatoes were good. Size: average. Price: $16.49 OVERALL THOUGHTS: Server was very kind but service in general is slow. Cleanliness has definitely been lacking and I honestly would hate to see what happens in the kitchen!! WOULD I RETURN? Probably not, mostly due to the state of cleanliness the whole establishment was in.
