There's not a lot of Donut shops in this area and I'm Happy that we have a Krispy Kreme here in Kalispell on the days that I needed a lil pick me up. The Cookie Butter Cheesecake and Kreme were good. The donut itself was nice and soft. I have a sweet tooth but the cookie butter frosting is a lil sweet for me. I like the cheesecake frosting though. Maybe Krispy Kreme can make a Cookie Butter donut with cheesecake filling instead of putting it on top. Cookie butter+ cheesecake really creates a good flavor for me. Our visit to the Kalispell Krispy Kreme showed us some of the worst in donut artistry. I did not catch any of the staffs' names, but they were helpful and courteous, and informed us of ways to save money on our order. The store was very cold when we walked in, which might be refreshing on a July afternoon, but on this day, it served to chase customers out of the store to enjoy their donuts outside in the parking lot. A chilly atmosphere is forgivable, but having a subpar donut product at a donut shop is a terrible state of affairs. My sister-in-law was dreaming of a freshly glazed classic fresh off the conveyor belt. The light wasn't on when we pulled up, so we weren't expecting them fresh out of the fryer, but when we asked (at ten) what the wait would be like, they kindly informed us that the donuts had been made at 7:00, and that was the last batch for the day. We ended up with an assortment of donuts, but the one that prompted this review was the Apple fritter. I blame myself because I saw it and bought it anyway. I consider myself a bit of a fritter aficionado. I'm looking for a light body of risen dough between an inch and two inches tall, cinnamon, and enough fruit to know it's there, but not overwhelm the fritter. What I got was a not a fritter, but a flatter. Good flavoring, just enough fruit, but I have seen lighter and taller pancakes. I don't know if the fritters come to the store and didn't get thawed out enough, or if they're freshly made and they left the yeast or baking powder out of it. Krispy Kreme is a well established, long-running staple in the American donut industry. This particular location makes a joke of the franchise's history. The employees there have no understanding of customer service and urgency. As we were the only customers in there other than another couple already seated. What an absolute tragedy. The Kreme is an institution, and the service from this location is an abolishment of the foundation of which KK stands on. I'm very disappointed in this Krispy Kreme. We just moved here about a month ago, and twice now we've gone and both times they've had only about half of the doughnuts we were wanting available. The first time I gave them the benefit of the doubt, but the second time not only did they not have all the doughnuts, but when we got to the window they didn't even have our order and had to write it with a sharpie on a piece of paper and we had 2 different people asking us if we ordered this or that, so they obviously don't communicate on what order goes to what vehicle. My wife and I were the only customers inside. As we walked to the counter the clerk named Robert very rudely said "do you know what you want? How many do you want? Or do we need more time?" He didn't even bother with a hello. When my wife responded that we need more time she saw him turn to another employee who mouthed "what the f***" to Robert. I'm from out of town but have been to a handful of Krispy Kreme's in my day. The store was very clean and well put together. I went in mid afternoon and every doughnut they had was in stock with some fresh glazed pumpkin spice coming off the conveyor. I ended up getting an assortment with a wide range of glazed, sour cream and filled doughnuts. The consistency was great and my fiancée and I shared one of the fresh doughnuts. But they have learned in Kalispell Montana that is not the case... So now they no longer ask to go to Krispy Kreme donuts when they see the light is on... subsequently resulting in loss of sales to your business... This place has only been open for a short a time. The employees were great but the place is filthy. Finger smudges on every window nearly top to bottom. Counters not kept cleaned and liquid spills down the front of them. And just to see if I came in at a time after they may have been swamped, I went in the next day - didn't buy anything. Same spills, smudges and dirt. If they are that too busy to keep it clean, they need to hire a full time janitor service. read more
