Folklore is the only reason I didn't commit a felony in an airport this Labor Day. the whole town is shut down, it was tighter than my jeans after Thanksgiving, my blood sugar was lower than my standards on Tinder, and then boom, Folklore swoops in like a breakfast Jesus. The burrito? So good it made me question every decision I've ever made that wasn't eating here. TSA should honestly strip-search people for smuggling these, because they're criminally addictive, they're weapons of mass satisfaction. Coffee? Dark, hot, and comforting, basically everything my ex wasn't. The staff were still smiling while drowning in a line that looked like Coachella for caffeine addicts. Legends. If you walk out of here unimpressed, check your pulse, because you're either dead or you've been eating at Applebee's too long. read more

Looking for a little caffeine pick me up before heading to the UTBS music festival, I waited in a tremendously long line for a coffee at Folklore Coffee. Despite the line, it moved fairly quickly, and the staff maintained a smile on their faces, despite being so busy. Normally, I would have loved to have tried some of their breakfast items or even their infamous cinnamon roll, however, I had just finished a large breakfast and did not have an appetite. I did however, thoroughly enjoy my oat milk iced honey cinnamon latte. It was the perfect level of creamy and sweetness and everything I needed to enjoy the concert. I'm sure when they are not slammed with customers on one of their busiest weekends, this would be a lovely coffee shop to hang out and read a book or chat with a friend. read more

Such an adorable coffee shop! And it is very popular, with good reason. This is probably one of the better cups of local coffee I've ever had. It's not bitter at all, has great flavor. The food seems pretty good, we tried the honey berry donut and it doesn't look like much but it was so good. Packed with berries and had great flavor. The service was fantastic everyone here is very friendly and helpful. It's easy to see why it is popular. read more

Hands down the best matcha I've had in my life. I've been told I'm both a "purist" and a lover of "dirty grass" for appreciating an unsweetened cup of green goodness, but truthfully this is top dog in the unsweetened matcha game! Has such a unique flavor to it, I sometimes wonder if they sneak something special in to make it taste off the charts. You really can't go wrong with the breakfast bites either, from burritos and sandwiches to oat balls, Folklore hits the spot in so many ways. The ambiance of this place is so cozy and comforting, great place to study! The service was great all of the staff were so friendly and welcoming. And best for last the food and coffee was absolutely amazing, i think about the breakfast toast everyday, so fresh and savory like nothing i've ever had. The salted brown sugar maple latte, honey cinnamon latte, blooming matcha and the sage and cardamom latte were all delicious. I had their sourdough toast with a cream cheese homemade jam it was really good. If you're in a hurry, I do not recommend this place. It was an average of 15 to 20 minutes to get coffee or food on a Saturday morning. read more

Great food, great coffee, comfortable ambiance, excellent service. Food was fresh and tasty. I had a cortado to drink with the breakfast toast (pictured below). I definitely recommend this place. UPDATE: Went back the following day. Still really good. I ordered the cappuccino with cinnamon and honey. Yum. Others ordered the sage and cardamom latte with oak milk - yum! We LOVE folklore! Folklore is the coffee shop you're excited to take your friends & family to when they visit! Every item on the menu is 10/10! One thing that stands out about this shop is their consistency. Every time I order the same drink, it's tastes just the way I want it to! The Breakfast Toast & Bacon Breakfast Burrito are my favorite! They also always have a new coffee syrup to try which is so fun! The homemade pastries such as the honey berry or flathead cherry donut are delicious! Staff is always so friendly, place is always so clean, & service is quick! The menu is very simple to navigate! Coffe me was really good! Smooth with a tad bit of sweetness! My wife was super excited they had a Gluten Free cinnamon roll. She hasn't had one in 10 to 15 years! A cute spot in downtown whitefish. The atmosphere is wonderful, calm music and comfortable open seating, with an extremely friendly worker and great quality food and drinks. I opted for something different and got the sage and cardamom coffee by recommendation of the staff member and it was delicious. Also the toast was wonderful, filling while not feeling too heavy. I enjoyed a book while slowly sipping and eating and couldn't have asked for a better location to enjoy my slow morning. Thanks! read more

Only one person working so a little slow. Coffee was okay. We expected artwork. The walls were plain. The breakfast burrito was quite good, but my husband wanted salt and pepper. They don't have any. You have to ask for cream , and sugar choices are xylitol and organic sugar. read more

I loved the vibes and the coffee! I got the Sage Cardamom latte and it was outstanding! My favorite coffee place in college had that flavor but I hadn't been able to find it since. This was our coffee stop while in town! The first moment I walked in I knew it was going to be good. There was good space to sit and relax and the coffee smelled so GOOD! I got my usual, a cappuccino and they really did it right. It was perfectly balanced with a rich flavor. My husband got a latte which was also delicious. I came back nearly daily after that. Pour over and drip were both fantastic. I also bought a bag of beans to take home and they were incredible in my chemex! Def the best coffee in Whitefish. read more

Also they have bathroom it is kinda connect to other building which is a hotel i believe? Wish i take pictures but that day i was so tired and was fly out. But would love to visit again! Folklore Coffee is a small coffee shop in the middle of Whitefish. Centrally located, street parking is easy. The small shop has a few tables and is a small storefront. The sage and cardamom latte was OUT OF THIS WORLD! The gluten free maple donut was a welcome option in a sea of gluten...a little dry but pretty tasty. $10 is the new norm for coffee and a donut. ***COLD BREW REVIEW ONLY*** I only drink cold, black coffee, (cold and black like my heart ... just kidding). As a self-proclaimed cold brew connoisseur, it is my duty to the cold brew community to give you the 4-1-1. It is absolutely heartbreaking when you get a weak CB, am I right? If I wanted water with a hint of coffee I'd go to my grandmas house... at least she would put a shot of amaretto in it. The shop is super cute & V instagrammable (there was an IG superstar shoot happening in real time while we ordered and waited for our drinks. Their menu looked rad, but we didn't get a bite. Folklore is the coffee shop that you need to come to when you're in town. The owner cares about good coffee and you can tell. Homemade syrups and delicious food items as well. Great natural light with outlets at almost every seat. The ambiance is hard to beat!! Can't forget to mention how much they care for their community too, they are eager to host events pertaining to mental health awareness. Thanks folklore for caring! read more

This little coffee shop is right in the heart of Downtown Whitefish. A small shop, but a good atmosphere and lots of folks were in there using their wifi and hanging out. My friend and I had their "Bee Sting" special. It is honey steam espresso with half and half, typically iced, but wanted it hot since it was rainy and cool the day we went. So so good and it hit the spot perfectly on the cool day. Would definitely recommend! read more

There are a good amount of tables, and the shop is right downtown, which makes it an easy stop while you're walking around. The staff are really friendly, and it feels good supporting a local Montana business that uses great ingredients and puts care into what they do. If you're in Whitefish and craving ice cream, this is a great spot to stop.
