I placed an online order for pick up 17 minutes prior to arriving at the location and it took about 8 minutes for the staff to acknowledge me at the pick up counter. It was busy as they had the strawberry glazed donuts but they failed to mention that they were waiting to run another round fresh off the line. The donuts here are always delicious if they ever can stay fully stocked with the variety ones. The service isn't always great. Going inside is always a treat to watch the machine make the donuts. Yummmmm! I'm so glad the closest location is far away. I would be eating these a few days a week - I just know it! This is fluffy, soft sugary deliciousness. I used to enjoy eating these on the ride home from college back in the day. Prices have definitely increased since then. Then told me to pull forward. I waited a full 3 min with no one at the window, then see her moving as slowly as possible towards me. She goes to a register away from the window, walks over and tells me the total, I pay.... And she moves as slowly as possible to get my change and donuts. Krispy Kreme Doughnuts is located in a great location with a good amount of parking. The store is extremely clean and it is not crowed anymore since the newness has died down. Yesterday I ordered a dozen of jelly filled and sprinkled doughnuts and they were extremely small and dry compared to other doughnuts that I have purchased from them in the past. I called the manager and explained the situation. She had a great attitude and easily replaced the doughnuts with no problem. I love the chocolate doughnuts with sprinkles and the Jelly filled doughnuts. Go after 4 or 5 pm to get warm fresh doughnuts that melt in your mouth. Growing up on the east coast, Krispy Kreme was never really around. Sure, I'd heard about it and seen ads, but I had never BEEN to one. After all, how could it be much different than. Dunkin Donuts? After seeing the new Power Rangers movie, I got the itch to try it out. (Talk about killer marketing.) The nearest one to me is, regrettably, in Toronto and I as yet am passport-less. We got there around noon-ish and it was buzzing. Not totally packed but far from empty. I was blown away with the vibe. It did not have the insufferable "I'm better than you" vibe of Starbucks nor did it have the efficiency "get in, get out" vibe of Dunkin. It encouraged loitering and celebrated it's history. It looked like a place where I would want to go and lounge or hang with friends. That in and of itself was a feat. After deciding what I wanted, I waded over to the counter and was greeted by an incredibly nice, very understanding cashier who did not mind that I was a total newbie. She was great! I ordered our food and drink (regretfully now, I did not try any of their coffee-based products), and it did not take long at all. I got the classic glazed donut, what I've been told Krispy Kreme is known for. You should know that glazed donuts are my jam. I was always the annoying girl who didn't want frills, sprinkles, chocolate, filling, or anything on her donut. Plain glazed was all I needed. So I've had a few glazed donuts in my day. This donut was heaven. The sugar was melt-in-your-mouth without being too gooey on your hands. And I do not know what they put in the dough but the flavor was second to none. First of all the employees don't really seem to pay attention to customers all that much and definitely not to the cleanliness of the place. There was spilled coffee, trash laying, and no napkins at the coffee station and when I asked for napkins, they said they were out and handed me some ripped off paper towels from their paper towel roll. Ok, so when it comes to doughnuts, no one and I repeat no one does it better than Krispy Kreme! Other popular doughnut franchises really should take doughnut out of their name and just focus on other aspects of their menu. My only critiques about the company is that they really need to offer specials with their doughnuts to move more volume and throw less doughnuts away. Also, I think the franchise could greatly benefit from expanding their menu to include some breakfast items, a full café options, and maybe even partnering with my favorite ice cream maker Oberweis, and Starbucks! I think that is a rock star partnership for all parties included. Also, if I was in charge of the franchise I would further develop more flavors, icings, and toppings for the doughnuts to make them stand out even better.
