Loved KK donuts for over 20years. I used to drive 40 minutes to Fullerton CA from Ontario to get Krispy Kreme before they opened the Ontario store like 20+ years ago. Was thrilled when they re-opened in Bakersfield. But...they aren't what they used to be, at least not in Bakersfield. They raised the price and lowered the quality. Donuts are always deformed sometime too small like minis, other times all fat and lopsided. Isn't the point of a machine making your donuts to have a consistent high quality product? Supposedly the donut machine at this location is a newer model and they tweaked something that created a problem (obviously there's a problem). But then you raise prices??? Krispy Kreme has a history of going out of business is Bakes. I predict history will repeat itself. Too bad cause I love the original (the real one) Krispy Kreme donut. read more

Krispy Kreme- ahhh, my good old friend. I came first on Thanksgiving break, when this place first opened. There were SO many people at that time that the line wrapped around the store. This time when I came with my friends (a few months after) around 10:30AM, the store was relatively quiet and service was quick. For this visit, I got the plain glazed donut, the apple fritter, and the snowman (a holiday special donut for my youngest sister), and a soy latte. You always need coffee with a nice donut IMO! These came out quickly since they are made before time, and we all dug in. I'll start with the apple fritter. While my sister (who LOVES donuts) gave me a positive impression of the apple fritter, I really was not that impressed with it. All the apple flavor was concentrated in the middle, and the rest of the donut was lighly flavored with sugar and cinnamon. It was so-so. The plain glazed donut though was GREAT. I really enjoy the simple flavor of donut since that's just the taste of childhood to me. It tastes like a sugar cloud, and disappears just as quickly! The soy latte was alright, but I've had better coffee (especially after being spoiled by other coffee places in San Diego!). If you want good, cheap donuts that remind you of childhood, I would totally recommend this place! This is one of those places you go at least once in your lifetime, you know? read more

Came by one morning as a treat with my kiddos and got an assorted dozen. The original glazed were far superior to the others in the box which made me sad that I had wasted my other picks on anything other than the original. On my way to visit family and wanted fresh donuts for my family to munch on as a treat. On my visit to KK I was in a rush to make it to this location because there is no Krispy Kreme at our city yet. So I arrived at 9:20pm ish and was greeted by friendly employees. There was a small family ahead of me who gave the youngster a KK hat which was cute! Afterwards I was serviced and the team member was very friendly and gave me glazed donuts right out the line! It was fun to watch the donuts be made right in front of you and the sweetness wasn't too sweet! I also got an assortment as well which was hard to decide on which ones! The cashier was very friendly and nice and informed me of upcoming deals! The donuts are very delicious and the glaze donuts like I said was not overly sweet like some KK shops. However the maple donuts were a little sweet for my taste. The blueberry donut was so yummy! I think I gained 5 lbs! I will definitely be back when I'm passing through Bakersfield until they finish building the KK in my home city. read more

Well... I have always loved Krispy Kreme. Those hot, fresh, melt in your mouth donuts. I was so excited when Krispy Kreme came to Bakersfield, again. But this location, the donuts never seem to be hot or fresh. You never see them making the donuts, and the light is never on. You know, the light that says the donuts are fresh? In the front of the store? So I'm not sure when they are made. Or where, since I've never seen it happen there. The kids still like it though, so we go. My recent trip, despite explaining what I wanted several times, my order was still wrong. All of the donuts looked fabulous! They just weren't what I ordered. I didn't watch her put them in the box and I didn't check them before I left. I didn't realize until I opened the box that night for company that it wasn't what I asked for. But like I said, the kids think they are wonderful and we will keep going back for that reason. Oh! And they don't give you the free hot donut like they do in LA! Big bummer. What an odd experience. Odd as in their customer service. My first time to this location, I was in the area and thought to stop by to grab some donuts to bring to my parent's house. I came in made my selection of half dozen donuts, proceeded to the register. Cashier tried upselling a drink. I said sure why not and ordered an ice coffee. She asked if I wanted iced or blended I said let's go for blended. She then came back and said that's a different kind of coffee, so I said ok just give me the iced coffee. She walks back with a coffee watered down my melted ice. She poured hot coffee over ice! We all know that waters down the drink. I asked her to give me a hot coffee instead because I didn't want watered down coffee. I also asked if they had Almond Milk. She looked at me oddly and said uh I don't think so. Okay fine just though I would ask. I looked up while she poured the hot coffee and their was a dispenser labeled iced coffee, so I told her. She said yeah we are out. That would have been nice to know when I ordered and iced coffee. Anyway I took my donuts and hot coffee and headed on my way. Such an odd experience. I came here on national donut day to get a free doughnut and I did. But I wanted a maple bar they only had maple circles which is OK but they weren't all that. I've had better. I got the blueberry cake doughnut as well and I didn't care for it. Too much sugar. It dissolved in my mouth. It wasn't really cake-like like the ones I had before. What I really wanted was an apple fritter but they didn't have anymore by 11am. :( I also got a cream filled chocolate donut for my boyfriend I'm sure he'll love it and I'm sure will be perfect. Even at 1:30 in the morning there was still a line that goes around the corner for the drive-thru! Once we were able to make our order, we were asked to, "hold for a minute," several times throughout. It seemed as if there was some communication problems between us, the cashier, and her coworkers. But we didn't mind much, we understand most of the employees are probably new and especially since this location barely opened about 4 days ago. In the end, our order came out correct and nicely packaged. (Although I was a bit puzzled by the two apple fritters that was packaged in a separate paper bag.) Anyways, we were so excited to grab a bite, that we drove a bit to the side parking lot just to do so! However, we were initially a bit disappointed to find that the 2 dozen glaze donuts weren't warm-- but then again, it was 2 AM at the time --we should've expected it. No matter, the donuts still tasted great, and they were even better after we nuked them for a couple seconds in the microwave! So basically my only complaint is the slightly cold donuts and my personal opinion of their maple donut ring; which didn't have enough maple glazing. I'll definitely visit again in hopes to see how these donuts are made! Hopefully there won't be much of a crowd by then. read more

I came here with my husband for a late night snack and we were greeted and helped by the two loveliest ladies! My husband wanted to try an Oreo donut which they had run out of, but the woman behind the counter graciously offered to make a fresh one (and a couple more on the house) for us. We just moved here to Bakersfield and it was a nice little treat for us to be welcomed with a small gesture of hospitality. :) ... and I almost forgot the most important part... they were delicious! read more

Tonight I had a Postmates order, and some of the things this location didn't carry. So between me contacting the customer then telling the employees what I need instead they were AMAZING! These employees went above and beyond to make sure I had what I needed to complete the order. They never once got frustrated or annoyed, I just want to give a 5** for their amazing customer service. Because good customer service is VERY HARD to come 2* to the girl in drice thru today who had major attitude. KK sent me an email that, if I downloaded their app, I could get a second dozen for $1. After an agonizing day, I arrived late. Inside was closed, but drive-thru still operated. Aimee worked the window. Nothing worked at 10:45PM. I couldn't get the app to work. I couldn't find the email. Aimee was amazing! She was gracious, tolerant, understanding, and tenacious. She worked my cell phone and her register until finally, the system agreed to what KK app had promised. And she makes a phenomenal iced coffee! Great job, Aimee! read more

My daughter ordered a dozen donuts the day before st Patrick's day for a 7 am pick up for her 4 year old class party, she went at 7ish there was a line out the door and the drive thru just as long, they told her she would have to wait in the line! Nope, won't be coming back. I was disappointed. Came in on a Saturday and ordered 2 apple fritter combos. Apple fritters are a family favorite so I was enthusiastic about trying them out. I was glad to see you could pick hot or iced coffee. Apple fritter: had lots of glaze, but was raw in the middle, Bummer. It did have lots of apple and was not crisp on outside. The other fritter was not raw. Large hot coffee: good and hot, but some coffee grounds. Large iced coffee: asked for sugar free vanilla, but it also contained coffee grounds and was pretty watery. Motioned to cashier that it had coffee grounds, but he didn't offee to replace it. There are better doughnut shops in Rosedale. read more

I placed an online order today at 6:40AM, to be ready by 6:53AM (was what my receipt said) but unfortunately couldn't keep waiting to receive it. When I arrived at the store, it was unorganized and chaotic. Instead of fulfilling online/app orders in the order in which they were placed, they were doing the orders as the customers arrived. It was unreasonable. If a person placed an order before me to be picked up before me, that order should be fulfilled before mine. Same goes for if it was placed after mine. It was 7:35AM at this point and I was going to be late for work if I kept waiting so I asked them to cancel. It was extremely frustrating since today is St. Patrick's day, so these green donuts were for my students. Unfortunately I couldn't keep waiting or I would be late to work, so I had to leave. I'm still waiting for a refund. Besides the refund though, I'm so disappointed at the service and even more disappointed that my students didn't get to enjoy these. What is the allure of the neon sign beckoning HOT NOW? Whenever I hear that siren's call I steer straight for the rocky coast and find myself shipwrecked at the front door of a Krispy Kreme drooling and ordering as many glazed donuts as I can justify to myself. For those precious few who are still unaware, there is nothing more enticing in the donut world than a hot fresh glazed donut from Krispy Kreme. I'd say they melt in your mouth, but that seems so heavy handed. One moment you are taking a bite of this light and airy pastry and the next moment it's gone, disappeared completely leaving only ecstatic taste buds and the impression that something wonderful has occurred that you can't quite put into words. What about when the hot now sign is not lit? The donuts are still tasty, but not exactly the transcendent experience described above. Normally I only visit a Krispy Kreme when the sign is lit and only to purchase glazed donuts. I departed from my usual routine the other day when I felt the familiar Krispy Kreme craving and drove halfway across town in the attempt to satiate it. Oh, no!!!! The beacon is not lit! What to do? Well, I sucked it up and went inside to find out how the common folk live (ordering cold donuts). Original Glazed donuts (the ones to which I am addicted) are $0.99 each or $8.99 for a dozen. Most of the other assorted varieties of donuts are $1.29 each or $9.99 per dozen, a little pricier, but not a bad deal. Certain varieties, such as the Santa's belly filed and frosted donut and the apple fritter, are individually priced. I ordered a glazed raspberry filled donut and a red velvet donut. The filled donut was light and airy and the filling not too overpowering. I'd order it again. The red velvet cake donut had a cream cheesy frosting that tasted good but was horrendously messy. Picture a round donut with a hole in the middle and a topping somewhere in consistency between a custard and a frosting topping it and covering the hole. The moment I took my first bite it started to fall apart getting creamy goo everywhere. This donut doesn't seem well thought out, and I wouldn't order it again. Honestly, the cold donuts averaged out to 3 stars (3 1/2 for the raspberry filled and 2 1/2 for the red velvet) but the hot now donuts that dance their way through my dreams are a solid five. First and foremost I am not doughnut lover nor a dessert person altogether. However when I obtain a sweet tooth I will search high and low for something sweet to satisfy that craving. When Krispy Kreme was here before off Stockdale/California I did not go there at all. At the time I lived in Delano and like I said, not a lover of doughnuts. Well it hit again and it proposed an opportunity that knocked and said to attempt to get some Krispy Kreme. My wife, two sons and I made the quick journey over and were happy to see that the line at the drive thru was only about 5-6 cars. Guess what? My wife timed it and it only took about 6 minutes from when we entered the drive thru until we pulled away from the window with our goodies. More importantly, the product!! We ordered a dozen of their Glazed doughnuts and a dozen of the Assorted in which we picked some Oreo ones, raspberry filled, creme filled and the cinnamon apple filled. The Glazed ones were fresh and amazing as soon as they hit your mouth and start to melt, I'd come back again soon just for those. The assorted, well I was disappointed to put it simply. The doughnut itself lacked the texture I was anticipating but the flavor were decent. The Oreo one was way tooooooo sweet for me but my kids liked it. I will return whether it is sometime this week or a few weeks but when I do I will make sure to stop here with they are fresh and it will only be for the Glazed ones!!!! But if you have not come out here, try all of them for yourself because my pallette is not the same as yours. read more

I honestly can't even remember the last time I had Krispy Kreme, but I know the last time I was inside one was when it was last in town about 10 or so years ago. The store has been open about a week now and every time I had passed by it was SUPER busy inside and out. When I went in yesterday the line was relatively short. Located inside the old A&W/Long John Silver, the shop is pretty small. The drive-thru will probably always be long so going in is your best bet for a shorter line. Original Dozen: $8.99 Assorted Dozen: $9.99 I have always enjoyed their glazed donuts since I'm not too keen on any of their others. All of their donuts melt in your mouth like cotton candy which make it so easy to go through 3 of them at once. The amount of sugar on each of these donuts is enough to put you in a sugar coma, and you're bound to smell like sugar for a few days. As much as I enjoyed them, I probably won't go back that often. I'll stick to our local doughnut shops. read more

In a current world where "clean" eating or "healthy" eating in on the upswing trend I still love me a Krispy Kreme glazed doughnut. I have never had a glazed doughnut that wasn't made perfect because of the system they have in place. I'm sure there is a whole list of "naughty" ingredients in these but when you are having a treat you really don't care. This location being still new is always busy but when there hasn't been a Krispy Kreme in town for a long time and they come back it is to be expected. The drive thru line is always long during peak doughnut hours. We often go inside since I have kids that love to see how they are made. The biggest complaint we have is the filled doughnuts are always pretty weak as far as filling and could definitely use more. Great food, great customer service! It's been a long week of 12 hour shifts topped with no sleep at all for the last two days. I decided we'd get donuts to lift my spirits and keep up with my very active toddler. We went to the Krispy Kreme on Rosedale this morning, both our first time ever. Completely unaware of my situation, the employees were very kind and patient as my two year old was super excited; she's never been in a donut shop. We got a dozen, 4 minis, and 2 drinks. As I'm paying she pulls the bag of minis and they all fall to the floor. They were so kind and he replaced the donuts. The donuts were delicious, strawberry lemonade was amazing, customer service -- phenomenal! Your employees working this afternoon deserve praise, they're amazing (08/17 -- around 12-1pm). read more

My sister and I decided to go to Krispy Kreme (thinking they closed at 9:00) but really they didn't close until 10:00 (which is the time we received our donuts). The wait was so long, about a 1 hour wait if you were going through drive-thru service. Not sure on the wait inside the facility but it was worth the hour wait to get my donuts.
