Mediocre food. High prices. Loud music (often with television at the same time). They don't burn the bread on the bottom like they used to, which is an improvement. Some of us remember that when they opened lunches were $7-8 with a bread. Now, you're looking at $16 or something for a chicken dish. The difference? The two other Indian restaurants closed. The service is always good. On the plus side, the portions are fairly large so two light eaters can share one dish. One can't do that with a pricey place like Tang next door. I think this place has the world's smallest and most expensive paneer pakora. Much better Indian can be had in West Chester at Chaska. One can always count on Oxford restaurants to be nothing special at best. The one great restaurant, Mary Jo's Cuisine, is long gone. read more

This is my go to place when I am in the mood for Indian food. The Tiki Masala is excellent. So is the Garlic Nan. The staff is always friendly and food is ready quick. I would love it if they served beer and wine. Until they do, this will be a take-out place for me. But its still delicious. read more

OVERPRICED for non-authentic, dry, oily Indian food. I don't need to pay $12 for dry rice and overcooked chicken. Also, naan should be free, that's absurd. This place outrages me. Excellent (and only?) Indian food in Oxford. They ask for spice level, which is very considerate, from 0-6. The service was good, the food was great, but the price is what makes it only 4 stars. It's more than you'd expect to pay for the amount of food you get. But the food is good enough that you almost don't mind. read more

The rice used to be very salty. It seems that they've improved that, although the quality of the rice could be better and it has a somewhat musty taste -- like it hasn't been thoroughly rinsed. Darbar, despite all the complaints, had nicer thin and light basmati -- although it sometimes was soggy on the buffet. The chicken can be gristly. The chairs aren't very comfortable and there are no booths. The TV noise can be annoying. Once there were two on with different channels, plus kitchen noise. The menu is small in terms of selection, but that's not surprising since it's Oxford. After all, pretty much every American man I've seen go into a Chinese restaurant recently has ordered exactly the same dish: General TSO's Chicken. They said they don't have eggplant because not enough people ordered it. I wonder if they use "vegetable ghee" (trans fat) or not? It would be nice to know one way or the other since trans fat is so unhealthy. The service and food are adequate. While it's nice to have one Indian restaurant in Oxford, I still go to Cincinnati to get better Indian. Brij Mohon and Sankalp are two I can suggest (avoid the former if you object to disposable dishes and a noisy ambiance), although the best Indian food I've had is in Pittsburgh and the best prices were in San Fran. Oxford really doesn't have any great restaurants. The only one was Mary Jo's Cuisine and she's in Chicago now. read more

We found this little gem using yelp. The reviews were pretty spot on. Excellent food quality, great service, great value for the money. We tried the Chicken Biriyani with Riatta, Lamb Korma and the Bassel Special. All had excellent flavor and were obviously hand made. All their dishes can be ordered on a 6 point heat scale. We ordered fours all around and that was plenty hot. The restaurant was clean and well maintained. read more

As a college student, I used to love this place, good food for not too much money. I'd get delivery once every other week or so...Until I found a used Band-Aid in my last order. And by found, I mean chewed on before I noticed it. Now I can't bring myself to order from here again. I should note I created this account just for this review, and if this incident had never occurred I'd give Krishna a five. Their saag paneer is a favorite, but be warned, it's pretty hot, so you've got to like real Indian food. The atmosphere is very basic. Not somewhere I would take someone if I were trying to impress them, but the food is good and the prices are pretty reasonable. read more

I've gotten Krishna multiple times! I've gotten the chicken korma, lamb korma, raita, naan, paneer naan, vegetable korma, aloo gobi, and I'm sure even more than that. I've loved it every time. Easily the best Indian food I've ever had and I have had a lot of Indian food!!! read more

Food tasted good until I found a hair in my lamb korma. After I chalked it up to an unfortunate accident, removed the area of rice around it, and continued eating, I found a second hair. I threw the rest away and will not be ordering from Krishna ever again. read more

If you like authentic Indian food do not go here. The aloo nan had white non seasoned potatoes...the saag paneer was more brown than green. They do not even cut their own vegetables but use frozen pre-cut mixed vegetables. Save your money and go to another place. read more

Great flavors but portions are not huge and the charge for Naan bread is very steep. I have eaten there several times and for some reason always find a single hair in my food. That doesn't freak me out like some people but I wonder how clean the kitchen can be. The service is great and fast but the decor is strictly low rent. By far the best Indian food that I have had. I always get the same dish Mushroom Masala and love it. I even had dreams about the food and restaurant before lol. The give a lot of sauce and a decent amount of rice. As someone who does not like spicy foods, I always get a 0 and sometimes there is a bit of a kick - but it's manageable. I only have been able to finish the entire plate once - but it makes for good leftovers! Glad it's in this small college town. read more

The lamb dish we ordered made two family members sick with upset stomach. The other family member did not taste this dish and was fine. A friend said their shrimp and corn are not fresh either. This is the only Indian restaurant in town and therefore it is also pricy. read more

I was in town and in the mood for something spicy. I found Krishna's and thought i would give it a try. I was not disappointed. I had a wonderful server who helped answer all my questions. I always ask lots of questions to the annoyance of servers sometimes. Anyway, I ordered the chicken biriyani based on my servers recommendations which I had never had before. For the spicyness I was given options between one and six. I went with three. For me, the spicyness was appropriate and exactly what I was looking for. Something that would clear out the sinuses and have packs of flavour but not burn like hot lead in my stomach later. Other people have different tastes and preferences so results may vary depending on your definition of spicy. Also, the chicken was perfect - moist, tender, and juicy. Overall, I was very happy with my purchase and I would definitely come back! If you like a good curry then this is the place! read more
