This is the second time trying this place. We ordered Karahi chicken and chicken tikka to go along with white rice. Both dishes were extremely salty and inedible. We found out when we got home. Food review : Veg Biryani - hard pass. It was a poorly made pulao with frozen veggies and canned tomatoes and white rice Palak paneer - the palak was really good, but the paneer cubes were fried and not even mixed with the palak. They were hard to chew and since they didn't get any time to absorb the flavors from palak, the dish seemed very forced. Garlic naan - this was really really good! A solid 4. I have been traveling for a bit and was in serious need for Pakistani khana(food). This is the only one in town and I decided to try them. Ordered chicken karhai and some naans over the phone. Pick up was smooth. The naans and raita were both on point . The gave a complimentary side order of plain rice which was great. The basmati used was super long grain I was impressed. Coming down to the karhai I wouldn't call it exactly a karhai as it was more currish. I mean we in Toronto are so spoilt. But over all the flavor was really really good the chicken was cooked to perfection and on the spicer side. I think the order had about 4 pcs of meat. Pricing is fair. This place is tucked in a not to amazing plaza a bit run down but has plenty of parking. My husband went in to the collect the food and mentioned the customer service was good. I tried this place a couple of weeks ago on one of my runs to Brij Mohan. They have an inside area to sit but the floors were sooo sticky and the furniture looked ratty. Upon inquiring, I was told Chicken Biryani was the freshest item they had. I ordered a plate and it took about 15 minutes to get ready so I had to do a take away. My cousin was in Hospice/Blue Ash I turned to Yelp to find a spot nearby. I was very excited to try this place, considering the reviews. So here's my take... The food: We had the Fried Fish appetizer (Fried to order-flavors were awesome), Vegetable Biryahni (forgive my spelling- I loved the spiciness of the dish, but the veggies were way overcooked and mushy and this made the dish less enjoyable), Chicken Tikka Masala (about five extremely small nuggets of bone-in meat with very little meat engulfed in what seemed to be a once creamy sauce that sat heating too long and became a sea of oil. And then the Saag (Palak) Paneer, which is my favorite Indian dish was a huge disappointment. The dish lacked flavor and the spinach was extremely gritty. I took one bite and had to throw it away. Lastly the Mango Lassi was bright orange. I asked the gentleman the reason for the bright color and he replied, "We don't use the whole fruit, we use a pulp." This just made me sad. The service: When I initially asked the gentleman for plates, forks and napkins he initially responded, "We are all out of plates and forks." When I mentioned that my family was visiting with a family member in Hospice and really needed them, he was able to miraculously locate everything we needed. This also felt bad. Perhaps I went on an off night and on a Sunday evening, at that. I won't speculate the reason this nearly 5-star rated establishment provided me such a poor experience. I heard about this place from a friend who was at a neighboring restaurant and decided I had to check it out. They haven't been open very long. Cincinnati is short on Pakistani food options, and North Indian isn't quite the same, so I came out here with my wife to check it out. I left with my tummy happy and will definitely be coming back. I hope they continue to do well and can expand this small space. Food: We tried the buffet so we could sample more options on the first trip. The biryani was awesome, not very spicy but very flavorful. The chicken pakoras were fresh and crunchy. The daal was on the spicy side but tasty. They even had beef nihari! The meat wasn't as tender as it should be, but flavor was on point. Chapli kebab was on the drier side, but definitely not bad, and not overly spicy. The chicken korma was also super tender, but tasted more like a generic chicken curry rather than authentic korma. It didn't have the sweetness that korma has. The chicken handi was very tender and buttery. I was really impressed with the menu, very meat heavy, and the quality of the food was great. I hope they keep it up. Obviously, I think quality is probably better off the menu, but they do make small batches for the buffet. No fountain drinks here, bottles of water and cans available for purchase. Service: We walked in a little before 1PM on Sunday. The lunch buffet was still being setup. Didn't take more than 5 minutes for them to get everything ready. They made small batches at a time, as it's a small space, so everything was fresh. Facilities: Simple, small space, with about a half dozen tables. There's a parking lot out of front. It's like finding meat lover desi food heaven, I was traveling to Myrtle beach and had craving for biryani , luckily I found Nawab on Google map. I ended up buying food for four days including Haleem, grill plater, nihari naan and of course mutton biryani. each and every item was delicious and good portion. So I have eaten here 2 times now and both exceeded my expectations. Definitely more of a local dive than white linen but the food is fantastic. It is made to order so expect a 10-15 minute wait before you can eat. Its also not cheap, more middle of the road pricing. Very authentic food that they have not dumbed down for an American palate so if you order something hot be prepared for hot (i did and it was hot but didn't fry my taste buds so spot on for me). The meat is halal (requires special preparation) and the dished are Indian/Pakistani. 5 out of 5 stars. read more

If I ever want to eat grilled chicken, I will definitely come here. Chicken was tendered and juicy and no " old meat smell". We tried chicken chapali kabob, malai tikka and all were cooked to perfection. Kabobs were very flavorful, but not very spicy as other Indian restaurant in the area. I did try Goat kadai, and did not feel it was 5/5 as meat did have some smell. But if you don't mind, it's 5/5. Fish fry is very average and it's worth not trying it. I hear about this litte gem a few months ago decided to try it. Im so glad I was able to try it out. The restaurant is fairly small but will make do. Great thing is that everything is halal. Had the malai boti, seekh kebabs and beef haleem. If you are craving some red meat the kebabs are on point. The seekh kebab tasted very authentic pakistani. All of food tasted really good, especially the kebab. The naan were also hot, fluffy and buttery. Right from the tandoor. The only downside would be the price. For the price of each plate i would recommend the business please have a few appetizers such as rice or salad. Also should more varieties of chutney. If I could leave a 0 I would. Literally one of the worst restaurants I've ever been to. Cardboard has more flavor. Ordered goat biryani and chicken pakora- the biryani has no salt, no masala, no goat, no pepper, no onions, no cilantro, and list can continue. Basically I was given whites rice and 5 chunks of dried meat placed on top. Apparently this was DUM Biryani. A Pakistani coworker suggested Nawab catering for a work function we had and it was great. Their paneer was excellent and everything else was good as well. So I wanted to go there for lunch since I thought the food would be good. We went there and had their lunch buffet. This place is not fancy. Sort of plain actually and can easily be missed driving by. Not many tables. When we went it it was packed with Indians and Pakistani families which is great because that indicated to me that the food would be authentic. The food was awesome. I had the buffet and I only had their vegetarian offerings since it was lent and I wasn't eating meat but their veggie dishes were great. Brought out in small portions every ten minutes or so which made sure it was fresh. I want to go back when I can try the rest of their meat and chicken containing foods on the buffet. The buffet was $8.99 and was a good value. The owner was on site and we chatted a bit. Nice guy. Always good when the owner actually works at the restaurant. Last comment... again...don't expect fancy, it's small, they are playing a paki tv channel, the cashier's English was not so good but I loved the food and will go back again. read more

Today, I had a terrible experience at Nawab Grill. I drove from Toronto and arrived around 8:15 p.m., but the guy refused to serve us. There was no dine in allowed. I m diebatic. i was so huungry he simply refused for serving us We were family of 4 He stated that our options are limited if we give take away order. The restaurant door clearly shows time it says closed at 9:30 p.m. I asked the guy to call the manager, but he refused. The staff appeared unprofessional; he was not sorry and was extremely rude. Tonight was our first visit to Nawab Grill and we were very pleased with our meals. It's a very small place with limited seating. My husband ordered the Goat Karahi and I ordered the Palak Paneer. We also ordered the Plain Naan and my husband ordered a Mango Lassi. My husband said it may be the "best goat dish" he's had and my Palak Paneer was awesome. Palak Paneer or Saag Paneer is one of my favorite dishes when I eat at Indian restaurants but with all the cheese and cream it can be a bit heavy. Not here. There seemed to be very little cream in this dish, if any at all and the cheese was a little lighter. Also, the cheese was kind of crispy so I think it may have been fried a bit. Neither dish was served with rice, as we're accustomed to, but we preferred it that way. Both dishes were perfectly spiced and decent serving size. Just enough food to be satisfied or full but not so much food that we had leftovers. The service was friendly and quick. We'll return soon, as we're looking forward to trying out more of their menu items. read more

Limited Options but great taste This used to be a Mexican Restaurant right next to Brijmohan, was surprised to see an Indian/Pakistani restaurant here. Decided to give it a shot for lunch. Tried the buffet on a Friday afternoon. There were 2 non-veg appetizers, 2 veg curries, 2 non-veg curries, Chicken Biryani, White Rice and Naan. The food was very tasty, chicken was very tender and well cooked, Naan was fresh and fluffy. Biryani had the right amount of spice and the curries tasted good too. One of the chicken curries was little watery but the taste was ok. Chicken Tandoori was very well spiced and cooked although it could have used a little more salt. Overall the food was delicious and we were satisfied with the experience. The have special buffet on weekends with options like Halwa Puri, Beef Nihari and Goat Paya on the menu. Will definitely come back to try it sometimes. Had a nice chat with the owner, he is new to Cincinnati area, owned a restaurant in New York, originally from Lahore, Pakistan. Since they were not too busy, the cook stepped outside frequently to ask customers for their feedback on the food. The service was good. The overall cleanliness and ambience could use a little improvement to make it more welcoming. I'm hoping they will improve as they become popular. 4 stars for now. Got my order wrong and refused to correct it despite showing what I had ordered and staff wasn't helpful

Visited a week ago and am still dreaming about the fried fish! Perfectly spiced. Good heat that lingered. Ordered a 2 which was plenty hot for my standard American palate. Garlic nan was perfect. Goat biryani was flavorful and also had kick. Definitely needed the yogurt sauce to cool it. Chicken Tika Masala was milder and the sauce was not as thick as it is other places but was full if flavor and the rice absorbed it nicely. I read in other reviews some service complaints but this really is more of a neighborhood dive than a full service white tablecloth joint. The focus was on the food which was just perfect. Yes, some customers didn't wear masks and maybe back in the kitchen the staff didn't either but no one was crowding us so we felt safe. Based on the other customers that filtered through while we were there the place is mostly supported by regulars. So if you are new like we were, relax your service expectations and go enjoy some really good Indian dishes with a Pakistani touch. I'm going back for more fish soon. read more

Definitely authentic Pakistani based on the families dining there and the tv tuned to some show in Urdu. The food is plentiful - excellent portions - and very spicy for American palates. It's tiny so really it's for takeout. The only reason I don't give it more stars is that no one - staff, customers watching tv - were wearing masks. So we waited outside. I noticed Nawab had opened up since my last visit to Cincinnati, so of course I had to try it! I'm from Houston, so I've got high expectations for my Pakistani food. I have to say, this restaurant exceeded all of them. I really enjoyed the nihari and chicken handi, and my fiance's family really enjoyed the chicken malai boti.
