The Vanilla Latte came in a paper cup (a bit bummed out by not being able to take a more IG worthy picture of that), but it actually tasted really good! Same with the sausage links - it was probably one of the best tasting ones I've had for breakfast in a while. Aside from their wide selection of pastries and food options, their customer service was phenomenal. Every customer that walked through the door was greeted upon arrival and thanked on their way out. The restaurant was very clean and the cakes looked so beautiful behind the glass case. What bothered me even more is that with all the coffee shops we could have chosen in the area, we purposely chose to support a small Hispanic-owned business. I WANT to support businesses like this, but being a small business doesn't excuse poor customer service. I understand being busy and I understand being understaffed, but if you are understaffed ALL THE TIME, then hire another person. Stop making your customers deal with the consequences of how you choose to run your business. We're the ones spending money there -- we shouldn't be made to feel like an inconvenience because you're overwhelmed. And if dealing with customers frustrates you that much, maybe a customer-facing business isn't for you. You don't have to kiss anyone's ass, but basic respect and decent customer service should be the bare minimum. Your customers aren't responsible for your staffing issues, your stress, or the fact that you have a line of drinks to make. For those who are not too familiar with different types of flowers or have a specific preference, you can provide her with a color scheme you like and she'll work with it. The cake turned out exactly like the picture I showed her. From the color of the flowers to the rose petals that were​ coming down the side of the cake, everything was just the way I wanted it. All of the ingredients used are fresh and made from scratch so none of that boxed cake mix. The cake not only looked great but also tasted amazing. Yes, there are drinks, and savory food, and other tempting things in and behind the bakery cases. What I witnessed this morning between the shop workers and the customers gave me something to meditate on. I overheard the people in the shop talking to each other about what ultimately resulted in an act of kindness for another customer. What transpired happened over the course of a couple of minutes, but it was done so simply and quietly as to not draw much fanfare. It seems like these small acts of generosity happen regularly, and it's simply reassuring to see the goodness in people that we may not have normally noticed. I suppose there's something mystical and magical when good business owners draw in good staff and draw in good customers. Cheers, all!
