Came to Kraving Kebab Pizza after doing some digging on local eats that aren't basic or fast food. I've visited twice and have left satisfied! If you haven't had Swedish pizza yet, this is your sign to try it! Located in the Scandia Village along the train tracks of Turlock, Kraving Kebab fits right in with the plaza's Swedish/European aesthetic. The inside looks like a typical pizza parlor with dark wood and multiple booths to eat in. You order at the counter and find a seat if you're dining in. We have ordered: - Some variation of shawarma/gyro pizza - always a good choice. The meat with the sauce and pepperoncini taste great, plus on top of the pizza crust (crispy btw, no soggy bottoms)... even better. - Swedish pizza - the thought of bananas with chicken in a pizza kinda scares me. But trust, the taste goes so well together. The SO says it gives breakfast vibes. It has a great sweet and salty combo. - Shawarma loaded fries - this comes in a huge dish with a crazy slathering of their sauce that they have to present the dish on top of another plate to catch all the sauce lol Fries are crispy and the meat with the pickled jalapenos go well with it. - Wings - these were crispy and has a good glaze on it. Wish the mango habanero was actually spicy though. - Kanafa - crispy, creamy, cheesy. Definitely a must eat asap type of dish since it's hard to re-heat once cooled. Service is pretty standard. There was one incident in which the order was placed wrong and we ended up receiving a personal sized pizza of our correct order (and got to keep the mistake). I thought that was a nice touch. This pizza is so delicious, up there with some of the best pizza in Stanislaus. I'm new to mediterranean so I can't really compare it to anything, but it's exactly you want from a pizza. I love fusion restaurants and this one was a hit! The fries were not really salted, but they were still delicious. The wings were nice and crispy and the flavors tasted very homemade. I just wish the mango habanero was spicier, but that is just a personal preference. Now the pizza, it was the star of the meal. The crust was perfectly baked, it wasn't too thick or too thin. The gyro had a lot going on, but it all worked perfectly together. This might be my new favorite pizza in the area. The service was great, they kept checking in on us. We came here for my grandson's soccer team's end-of-season pizza party, and it was a wonderful experience. The pizza was delicious, and my meal was excellent. I had the chicken kabob plate, and it was flavorful and perfectly prepared. The customer service was outstanding--everyone was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome. Ambiance was great! Service was good! Decent to be completely honest. It was quick and simple. Went on a Sunday and it was fairly empty which in my experience can be a red flag for business. However I also do acknowledge Turlock is a fairly slow and calm town. Music was great and playing at a conversational level. Food was good! I ordered the two meat plate of Chicken and Kebab! And I enjoyed it, very salty and the chicken fell on a "carne asada" taste comparison. The meat was well cooked and tender. Rice was nice and soft. The salad was fresh and their sauce was delicious. Not very spicy more on a creamy side with a hint of spice. Very good nonetheless. I plan on coming back and trying their Pizzas since that's what they advertise and updating my review. Food and service were fantastic. The host was very friendly and incredibly helpful with our selection. Everything looked and sounded as delicious it was. We had half gyro and half chicken nachos. One word, YUM!!!! The dish was served with fried flour tortilla chips, gyro and chicken meat, onions, jalapeños, olives, and a warm, rich, creamy hummus spread (better than any other I've had). Tonight, we had a terrible experience here. We sat, waiting for our two pizzas for a little over 45 minutes. When they finally came and set the pizzas on our table, they apologized for the wait and explained that they had mistakenly left the pizzas in to-go boxes the whole time. I wanted to send them back, but my kid was hungry and it was late. They were barely warm, and one of the pizzas seemed undercooked. We each had maybe a few bites and then just boxed it all because it was so bad. This was a one-star experience. The pizza wasn't the best. They charge extra for a large party, the fries needed salt, the wings had no flavor, it was like they only used the sauce for flavor which isn't good enough. Their large only has 8 slices of pizza. Bathroom is dirty. I recommend you visit if your expectations aren't high. 2 stars, 1 for the ok pizza, 1 for the employees working hard. They were supposed to close at 8 pm we called and asked if they could stay open a little later for a special event and they had no problem with it. The place was clean and quiet. I was really looking forward to trying their baklava but when my husband got home it wasn't in the bag... he said it was busy there so I can understand minor mistakes.
