That was $15. Although the portion was generous, it's a pass. The $8 egg rolls were good and came with 5 total rolls. The chili dipping sauce was also very tasty. Thai tea was also good albeit a tad on the sweet side for a reasonable price of $5. I'll be trying more items from the menu to give this spot another shot at impressing. Good not great. I was craving Thai food and decided to give this place a shot as I'd never been, and had seen great reviews. I'm going to be honest I left this place knowing I wouldn't be back. The service is super friendly so 10/10 for that, but the food was over priced for the quality of food, and not something I'd have again. The spring roll had a piece of chicken in each one measuring the size of my pinky finger. It might as well have been a veggie spring roll. I only ate half of a spring roll I didn't care for the sauce it was served with it. The dish lacked major flavor. The first bite I took of my noodles was not bad, but as I kept eating all I could taste was oil. Will just say I left most of the food behind and ended up feeling a little sick. read more

I'm impressed! Krathom Lek serves up delicious Thai/Laotian cuisine that packs a punch. I've been here multiple times with friends, and the quality has been consistent and service has been friendly. I agree the prices are on the higher side (especially because there's an extra charge for credit card), but the flavors keep me coming back. Appetizers: Shrimp rolls -- crispy, flavorful, deceptively light shrimp fried in a thin wonton wrapper. It's a guilty treat when dipped in the sweet and tangy sauce pairing. Papaya salad -- deliciously crisp and refreshing papaya slivers tossed in a flavorful fish sauce sauce. This packs a punch with the spices, but I found it addictive and a nice palate cleanser in between the other heavier dishes. Tom Yum soup -- tangy, cozy soup that tickles the back of your throat with its late-onset spice, but a favorite of mine for chilly evenings. I did find this version a touch on the sweet side for me, but the fresh lemongrass balanced it out nicely. Noodles: Pad Thai -- always a must-try, I was satisfied with the cook and flavoring of this version. I prefer mine more on the tangy side, but that's just a personal preference. Thai Boat Noodle Soup -- light rice noodles and homey soup makes this a cozy dish for cold nights. It felt akin to pho for me. Pad See Ew -- verrrry saucy and a generous portion. I liked the bell peppers and onions generously strewn throughout, and each strand of flat rice noodle was nicely coated in savory sauce. Curries: Green curry -- would absolutely recommend. Flavor was super robust and ingredients were perfectly cooked, especially the bamboo shoots. One of the best green curries I've had in a long time. Red curry -- just because I loved the green curry so much, red comes in second, but flavor was still good and was a milder curry in comparison. I also enjoy the rice options here, as there's sticky rice, white rice, brown rice, and fried rice. One serving is pretty generous and enough to share. I'm looking forward to my next visit! This review is just based on those items. The pho was decent. Okay. The broth wasn't as flavorful as the broth at Davorns. The ingredients seemed clean but if you want good PHO I'd recommend davorns place. The egg rolls though, we're some of the BEST egg rolls I have ever had. Delicious. The pad see Eww. I come here quite often. I'm obsessed with the chicken Tom Kha soup. I've had it at another local place and theirs does not even begin to compare to how Krathom's tastes. It's seriously so delish. My only complaint is consistency. I wish whoever is making it made it the same every time. It's a very simple ingredient soup and I've noticed nearly every time I get it, it's missing an ingredient. Sometimes it's missing lemongrass, other times it doesn't have onions (soup is literally spices, onions, protein & mushrooms in a broth) and it's disappointing because the soup has literally 3 main things in it so when the mushrooms are missing it's legit so disappointing and most of the time it's missing the mushrooms. Like I said, I've had it missing everything at some point or another. Even the galangal root! Other than that everything is good here. My partner gets the beef pho and he really likes it. Ordered 4 lunch specials and each plate were thrown together without a care in the world. The packaging was terrible. There was papaya sauce all over the chicken making the chicken very soggy. The worse part was that the papaya got super hot because it was thrown in with the fresh out of the fryer chicken legs. The chicken legs were not even good too. They were very plain, crispy, and didn't have any flavors. They ran out of sticky rice so we settled for white rice. Their white rice was not cooked all the way and was still very hard. We ended up throwing it away. The papaya and red curry was okay. I was expecting the papaya to be a little darker like the previous uploaded pictures on yelp.. The red curry was too sweet for me and the coconut flavor tasted weird. The drunken noodles were pretty good. The papaya salad included long beans and Thai egg plants in it which I liked. I felt tricked with their pricing. I ordered for take out and I went by the menu photos in Yelp. 1. Apparently they changed their pricing and every entree went up by 3 bucks. 2. And they don't give rice with any curry. Am I supposed to drink curry like a soup? I have never seen this trick at any other Thai place. Fine another 3 bucks for rice as a side. Not a big deal 3. There is no mention of any surcharge..But I noticed all the entrees were marked up in my receipt. I had to ask for explanation because my fried rice was some odd number cost $16.51.. she said it's the credit card price. Am I at an ARCO gas station or what ? The times that I have been there...the food is always amazing but my favorite dish is the Kao Piak. Please make this dish available more often or remove it from the menu. I've been looking for some bomb Lao food in the Valley and this spot definitely hit. Food was authentic and full of flavor.

I've tried this place about 2 or 3 times and loved their Papaya Salad! I love the fact that they use dry peppers, so it makes it even spicier. But they do have fresh Thai chili peppers as well. The first time I tried them out, I had their egg rolls, beef pad Thai, and beef larb and it was really good! Their Thai iced coffee was a bit too strong/bitter for me so next time I'll probably ask for a little more mocha milk or what ever creamer they use. Wasn't a fan of their stir fry basil. It seemed a little salty to me the day I tried it. Overall, their food was really tasty and the workers are always friendly. read more

I waited 25 extra minutes on top of the 30 mins they said it would be ready for pick up (wasn't busy). Most of my food was lukewarm to cold. Staff was very friendly but it was getting awkward sitting there waiting and waiting as other orders after mine were coming out. I ordered teriyaki beef, phad thai, stuffed wings. All were average. The dish was dark, sweet in flavor and had like a burned yet older taste if that makes any sense. We ordered 3 Spicy Combo Pad Thai's for dine in and all of them tasted exactly alike so I knew it wasn't just mine. This place is amazing. Cute little hut on the Oval (ok, not the best area, but the people watching is top notch). We've gone several times and have never been disappointed. My favorite is the yellow curry and the drunken noodles. The green curry and pad thai are also very good. If they can BBQ, the pork skewers are killer. My husband really likes the Pho and he is super picky about Pho, he normally only likes the one across the street and won't eat Pho out of Styrofoam. They have a little table and chairs for seating so that you can sit and eat out of real bowls. Great little family owned restaurant with great food and great service. read more

The first time we tried this place it was great! It's located in the former Pho King spot (we miss you Pho King ) We just tried this place again and it was terrible. We ordered Pad See Ew, Chicken Larb and Shrimp Pad Thai. When we ordered we tried to tell them what level spice and there response was "We longer put spice in the food. There were too many complaints so we give it on the side" It wasn't the same Nevermind that the larb had six Thai chilies in it. The larb was over salty. I'm really upset that the Shrimp Pad Thai we ordered had NO SHRIMP and was so incredibly bland. So our second time at this spot will unfortunately be our last.
