Bloody Mary + Coffee
Jordan P.

(to the tune of "Build a B*tch" by Bella Poarch) If I had to build a brunch (a brunch) And I could pick and choose I'd have lots of options for foods and a variety of brunch booze If I was building brunch (some brunch) I'm make my way to Kraftwork soon and if you need brunch, this is the spot for you (yeah) Beer and burgers, this is the spot But I heard they had some brunch Saw the menu, looking good Went around a weekend lunch Got some chicken and some waffles Huevos Rancheros, bacon (natch) And the potatoes were so crispy almost ordered a second batch The prices are on point with plates as large as my big head Bloody Mary garnished with grilled cheese - I am DEAD. It's been a minute since I've visited Kraftwork (as I'm expecting a baby and haven't been going to bars too much) but I didn't realize they now offer brunch! Naturally, I had to try it (as it's a quick walk) and was so pleased with the experience. Our server was the friendliest, and the food came out fast but hot/fresh. The Bloody Mary was a real hit with my husband, and I was OBSESSED with my chicken and waffles - nearly licked the plate. We found out they have takeout beer, too - looking forward to taking advantage of that when I'm drinking again!

Went back in the other day and was pleasantly surprised by the new vegetarian menu options. I had the Brussels sprouts dish along with the salad topped with the goat cheese fritters 10/10. Will be coming more frequently!

Things I Recommend at Kraftwork: 1. Calling ahead if you have 11 people. Probably a good idea anywhere. We had to split into two tables because you can't just walk in at prime brunchtime and expect an open table for 11. 2. The fries. I was told they were the best fries in the world. I disagree. They are very good fries, but I think Donkey Kong is the best game ever. 3. Beer. They have a lot of it, and you should drink it. I had an excellent Founders gose, but you do you. Also, the bloody mary is very solid. 4. The roasted beet salad. Everyone likes goat cheese fritters, and if you eat beets you can all talk about the fun colors in your poop the next day. (Yes, we're delightful conversationalists.) 5. The fried chicken and waffles. With two eggs, it's a gigantic, delicious meal. 6. Telling the server that your parents are sitting at the other table, and they will be paying for your table as well. Things I Don't Recommend at Kraftwork: 1. The beer can chicken sandwich. It wasn't bad, really it was just a little bland and the pulled chicken wasn't really what I was expecting (and I almost broke my tooth on a bone lost in there). Then again, I don't know what I was expecting. Either way, if you're in a chicken mood go for the chicken and waffles. 2. Telling the server that your parents are sitting at the other table, and that they will be paying for your table as well...unless that's actually true. This can get you in trouble. 3. Chatting the server up about the origins of electronica in the krautrock scene. They don't know what you're talking about, and you sound like a dick. Yeah, I'm talking to you.

It's been a while since I visited. But I now live in the area and wanted to give a local bar/restaurant some attention. I do like the fact that the atmosphere was just a pleasant. Casual and comfortable. I've always remembered Kraftwork for the craft cocktails and great tap selections. Food has always been very well prepared. Always fresh ingredients and attention to detail. This is not as common at comparable businesses. To summarize, this visit was very pleasant. Not disappointed with all I've known about before. The only negative I found was that my bartender was not customer centric. He appeared like he was not into working during my time there. Maybe he was just having a bad day or he hates this job? Everyone else was very courteous and accommodating in my observation. I will definitely come back again and again.

I was looking for a brunch place and this came up in my search. I liked the menu and decided to give it a try. Upon walking in, we were seated right away. The dishes we ordered off the brunch menu were a burger and the tortilla ensalada. Both were delicious, flavorful and good value for the price. I also ordered the party jam strawberry beer and really enjoyed it. Overall a great place to grab brunch!

Came here for dinner. They have outdoor seating with a few heaters. Great beer menu and a couple of cocktails. We were in mood for a burger and they only have house burger on menu, can add one topping with paying for more. Burger comes with fries or salad. Tasty shoestring fries. Burger is a huge portion, well done burger. Wish they had more variety but that's ok.

Kraftwork proved to be a hit for my group of three and my mini-me. We almost did not come here since people reported it is not good for families. I 100% disagree. Everyone was warm and friendly to Nora. High chairs were available and children's cups. They even changed the TV to Cat in the Hat without being asked. Nora had the hummus plate and their side of chicken. The hummus was definitely house made and pita was perfect for her little hand and dipping. She enjoyed every bite. For my dinner I had the Tortilla Ensalada and it was both flavorful and beautiful. The kale and rice blend were layered for great visual effect. The staff was very pleasant and engaging with our group. While no there is no "kids menu" and yes they specialize in Craft beers do no hostage to bring in your family.

The one thing that stood out to me here was the service. Our waiter was super friendly and helpful. We also had a child with us and they were very kid-friendly. They did have high chairs available. I personally got the asparagus salad with chicken. I thought the food was just ok. I didnt realize the chicken was going to be shredded. I thought it was going to be a piece of grilled chicken. My friends did enjoy their tortilla ensalada.

Great place with yummy food. We went mid day on Saturday and it was super easy to find a seat. I told my waiter I liked super sweet drinks and he sweetened a cocktail just for me. Overall good and relaxed place to get a bite to eat.

Huevos Rancheros... a must try for brunch!
Megan S.

Updating my review... the beer can chicken sandwich deserves a star of its own. Moist, juicy, tender chicken with long hots and sharp provolone on an insanely delicious ciabatta type roll. A must try. Worth noting- They recently tweaked the menu a little bit, and the mushroom baguette is different now. The old one (which was my FAVORITE!) featured seasonal wild mushrooms, sautéed greens, roasted red peppers, and shaved parmesan cheese on an amazing baguette. I haven't tried the new version, which includes walnut-arugula sun dried tomato pesto, sun dried tomatoes, and red onions on a ciabattini roll. I really loved the old version... sadface.

Kraftwork is on Frankford Ave and the parking is usually a little easier for me in that area. My daughter and myself had our first visit on an October Friday night. We were there later and were seated without a wait. The space was crowded and doing well. I had been at the Side Car before owned by the same folks as Kraftwork. The menu has a similar layout and there is very good beer selection. The inside is open with brick walls, wood tables and this really cool metal handsaw sculpture over the bar. Crispy Pierogies - Mashed potatoes, choucroute, mushrooms, and chive creme fraiche, apple chutney. These were very flavorful and crème fraise and apple chutney worked well together. This was a bigger then we expected. French Onion Short Rib Sandwich - Caramelized onions melted Gruyere, horseradish creme fraiche, and ciabatinni bun. This was an excellent sandwich and the meat was tender. We also had the Shrimp Po' Boy special. This was pretty good, it wasn't as good as the other dishes but the bread was excellent. The star of the night was the dessert, the fried Apple Pie with house made vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce. This was one of the better desserts I have has in a long time and if you like apples, cinnamon and deliciousness look no further. All the servers at Kraftwork were friendly and helpful and I would definitely go back again.

This place was heaven! The pirogies were delicious and the prime rib, French onion soup was delightful. Big kudos also to the bartender. He made a perfect old fashion. The only downside was the fried mozzarella app. It was overly smoky and we didn't finish it. Finally, service was great.

Taco tuesday so good can't beat $1 tacos and the draft selection is amazing

Our server Rachel was lovely and gave us a rundown of their specials and the menu's top hits. Our drink selections ranged from as boring as a Diet Coke to as fun as a seasonal lemonade. We were all content with our choices, though we puttered around making suggestions from their large drink menu. I typically go for a savory breakfast, but the stuffed brioche French toast was speaking to me. I can never turn down banana! The rest of our table ordered avocado toast (x2) and fried eggs with bacon. Everyone was really happy with their choices and an added bonus was that our food came out quickly. I insisted everyone at our table try a bite of my massive stuffed brioche French toast and the consensus was that it was ridiculously good. Though this spot is tiny, it is not to be missed.

Luckily, we found street parking right next to the restaurant, which was a nice surprise. When we arrived, the wait for a table of three was about 45 minutes. That's somewhat expected for a popular brunch spot on a weekend. Once seated, the service was prompt. Our waiter stopped by quickly with waters and took good care of us throughout the meal. I ordered the House Angus Burger with sweet potato fries. It was solid, flavorful, and definitely filling. My friend got the Bella Vista Omelet with home fries, and we both agreed that while the food was good, it felt like standard brunch fare rather than anything particularly memorable. Based on the long wait and the hype surrounding Sabrina's, I think we were expecting the food to really stand out. In my opinion, the dishes we tried were comparable to what you'd find at a quality chain brunch spot like First Watch. That's not necessarily a bad thing, the food was satisfying, but it didn't quite justify the lengthy wait. That said, the menu has plenty of more unique and creative options that we didn't try. I'd be open to coming back and ordering one of those specialty dishes next time. Overall, I left satisfied with the meal and service.

There's a grand staircase that walks down into an even bigger and more open area. Up first, was a $9 hot chocolate and a $23 Bluecoat (Dirty Martini with blue cheese olives). The martini was perfect, exactly how I like it with tiny slivers of ice shards. Second, I had a $30 Gold Espresso Martini with vodka. It was also perfect. Probably the prettiest espresso martini I've ever been served. The leaf design in your drink is pretty sweet. Tons of dates here, anniversaries, vacationers, and people super dressed up. Most certainly look your best if you decide to come. Next time I'm in Philly, I'll certainly be back!

My absolute favorite thing to order that I cannot go without is the Warm Shrimp Salad. The shrimp is cooked perfectly and paired with this amazing lemon dressing that is creamy but not too heavy. Adding the sun-dried tomatoes and the avocado is perfection. I usually make a combination bite of all of the ingredients and it is heaven to my taste buds. I highly recommend this entrée. We have gotten a lot of other things on the menu before, but some of the standouts include the French Onion Soup, the Tuna Carpaccio, the Escargot, the Tomato Tart, and honestly just a side of the fries. The fries here are delicious. The waiter recommended the Tuna Carpaccio and oh my gosh it was so good. It was salty and the tuna is so melt in your mouth and the bread went perfectly with it. The tomato tart just tasted like an elevated pizza so you can't really go wrong with it. My husband absolutely loves the Escargot and I think the sauce that it comes with is really good. Their take on a French Onion Soup is so good. The cheese layer is decadent and the soup is rich, salty and just delicious. Getting a side of the fries with the aïoli they bring you is also pure joy.
