Bill Shook is a sole proprietor, and is easily the top BMW mechanic in the Washington Metro Area. For years he has been the Tech Inspector for the BMW Car Club when they race at Summit Point in WV -- all cars have to pass his inspection in order to be allowed on the track. I've been taking various BMWs to him for twenty years. If you're looking for a real mechanic, who does the work you would want to have done to your car, and have it done right, he's the one. For example, virtually every other shop wants the customers to stay out. By contrast, he'll have you come in, and for example, if the car is up on the lift, and he finds too much play in one of the rear wheels, he'll have you stand at the wheel, and wiggle it, then go over to the other one and wiggle that one, and "See the difference?" He doesn't negotiated -- he has to many customers for that, and the vast majority are repeats. He treats you right. And, there are some models of BMWs he will NOT work on because of endemic problems or design flaws that undercut his repairs, or take so long to fix he can't reasonably charge enough. He absolutely stands behind his work, and is on a first-name basis with most of his customers. If you have a BMW, and want a real mechanic to work on it, go see him. And yes, he is an authorized mechanic and has access to BMW's tech data, and he has parts delivered three times daily. Truly amazing. read more
