So the food for the most part was spot on. The only improvement I'd recommend is cooking the potatoes a little longer. The corn was my favorite! Buttery flavor in every bite! The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Welcome to the family. Good size dining for a small establishment.

The food was really solid, seasoned well and fresh. Portions were generous, and everything came out hot. Definitely worth checking out when you're craving seafood.

Loved this place! Went with my family today, we had never been. The crab was good, and not just that the sides were great as well. And what probably made this place awesome was the customer service. Kevin was so so nice, we told him it was our first time in and he went through and explained everything to us. 100% coming back here!!

So much food!

We had some boils and some fried fish. All were excellent! The prime that worked there were very friendly and helpful,

If your a foodie, Krab Kingz is the #1 spot for seafood cravers in Kansas City, Mo. Kansas City is known for BBQ, but this place here!!! With 7 different mouth tantalizing sauces and seasoning, properly clean and devein shrimp and snow crab your not going to find any place better than here. Oh, did I forget to mention this is a black owned business. Support!!

Krab Kingz is Krazy Kool...alright, alright! I'll stop! The kooky spelling doesn't define Krab Kingz so, let's get straight to the point...how does this place pull an under four star avergae?! This seafood superstar blows other fishes out of the water! The way Krab Kingz presents its bounty of the sea is truly impressive and makes the restaurant a true dining experience. The choices of multiple butters, I am partial to the classic lemon pepper and the spicy tangy cajun, make it an interactive dining experience as well. The way to go is to stop in for lunch and get the combo shrimp and snow crab platter complete with potatoes, corn on the cob, hardboiled egg and sausage. If you do decide to enjoy the experience with a friend make sure you both try exclusive butter/flavorings and switch up the seafood and veggies for an out-of-bounds (as Sir Fieri would say) meal! To some the sticker shock of Krab Kingz may be enough to scare you away however, do not let this hinder you from experiencing a true form of unique comfort classics of the crustacean variety. Krab Kingz is on my "Top Ten in KC Seafood Specialties" for sure even if it is a St. Louis native. Dip your toe in the waters of Krab Kingz, don't worry I assure you the water is fine...and so are the sweet succulent crab legs, tender juicy shrimp, firm but melt in your mouth seasoned corn and tender potatoes plus all that butter!...more than fine if you ask me downright perfect!

First time here but we will definitely be back! My girlfriend and I split the crab and shrimp platter. It was more than enough for both of us. The flavor was addicting. I recommend the honey garlic butter. The crab was wonderful but the potatoes, sausage, and corn were so so good too. The restaurant was super clean and I liked the decor inside. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Keep up the great work Krab Kingz, glad to have you in KC!

Very good food best crab I have eaten in KC ver clean place nice and small location feels like home very nice people running the place I highly recommend prices were very fair we will definitely be going again

Seafood Platter

At first glance I was initially uncomfortable with the area and appearance, luckily we decided to enter the restaurant. The staff were amazing, very friendly, the price is what you'd expect for seafood and the serving size, the restaurant is clean and comfortable. My husband and I shared the Seafood Platter with cajun seasoning...absolutely delicious. I wish we had this level of crab boils in AZ. So flavorful, the sausage was tasty, I usually don't like sausage in crab boils. I've never had a crab boil that had boiled eggs, who knew...of course the crab, shrimp, potatoes and corn were all equally delicious and prepared perfectly. We will definitely stop by each time we visit my daughter in KS.

I've only ordered the seafood boil but it's soooo goood! Do you love seafood and butter? If so, this is your place! There are several flavors that you can chose from to add to your butter. I typically do Parmesan garlic and my husband does honey garlic. The portions are good sized.

My wife and I have heard only good things about this place for awhile now. So we decided to try it today. Guess what! They did not disappoint! The guys behind the counter were super friendly and welcoming. The service was quick. And the food was incredible! We got the crab and shrimp platter. It was perfectly seasoned and came with crab, shrimp, sausage, corn on the cob, potatoes and a hard boiled egg. All perfectly cooked and delicious! They have a nice menu with a lot of different options (fried and not fried), which is great! Trust me you HAVE to go here. We cannot wait to go back!!

2 crab clusters & shrimp with corn on the cob, potatoes, sausage, and boiled egg. SOOO YUMMY!
Tristan P.

This place is the TRUTH! Service is always quick unless there is a long line but it's always worth the wait. It's a hole in the wall gem not only because the food is perfectly cooked, you also choose and mix&match the sauce. This place is FAR better than Crazy Crab, which is located across the street so DONT mistaken Crazy Crab for Krab Kingz. You'll be disappointed if you do.

I thought restaurants would take the opportunity to really shine, to try to impress, but that was not my experience. Particularly surprising was how indifferent the service was. The bill was almost $90, I didnt feel like what I got was worth that much money money. We had a drink in the bar after we finished dinner and the service was much more attentive and friendly, which made the dinner service even more apathetic by comparison. I went to the same restaurant for happy hour about a month ago and got mussels in curry cream sauce that were amazing, so perhaps my expectations were too high.

Came to Kansas City for a few days to visit some friends over NYE. I do a lot of research before I…read morearrive, and I find the best restaurants in town. Gram & Dun was one of those restaurants. We show up for our reservations and get seated for a wonderful meal. Ambiance was surreal. The vibes inside were that of a modern Italian kitchen inside of a Southern parlor room. I know that doesn't make any sense, but it's true. And the restaurant looks out upon the quaint downtown street of this Kansas City suburb through giant, floor-to-ceiling windows. So beautiful. Service was great, as well. The server knew the menu very well, and was able to answer a few questions, guiding me to the correct thing to order. The apps, entrees, and dessert were all paced well, too. Service lead to a lovely evening. As for the food, we started off with the Not-So-Standard Potato Chips (parmesan, sauce flight: gold sauce, comeback sauce, black pepper bourbon ketchup). These were very good. House cooked chips that were just thick enough, had a good bite to them, and were absolutely covered in luscious parm. The sauce flight was fun, too. Keep the leftovers around to pair with the rest of your meal. Onto the Low Country Pimento Cheese (fried saltine crackers, candied black pepper bacon, bread & butter pickles, tomato jalapeño jam). Hillbilly charcuterie. Lots of fun to mix and match some bacon, some pickles, a little jam, all on those very unctuous Saltines. Very fun app. My main was the Brick Pressed Chicken (lemon & thyme brine, prosciutto & sausage bread pudding, caramelized cabbage, lemon & shallot cream sauce). Chicken was cooked to a charred perfection, that savory bread pudding was just an amazing as it sounds, and the cream sauce really brightened everything up. I don't usually get chicken, but I'm telling you, this was the chicken to get. I also got to try one of the nightly specials, some sort of cheesy parmesan pasta covered in black truffle shavings. It was as extravagant as it sounds. Fresh-made pastas, giant chunks of lobster, cheesy ooey gooey, and those truffle shavings add just a touch of class and umami that really made this a good pasta dish. We finished up with the Gram & Dun Bar (chocolate peanut and pretzel nougat, marshmallow cream cheese, chocolate mousse, peanut butter ice cream). Again, another thing I don't usually go for, the dessert bar, but this place did it in a way I haven't seen before. Each layer added to the dessert. Nougat, cream cheese, and mousse, all tied together with that cold, creamy peanut butter ice cream. So so good. Overall, as good as this place was on paper, Gram & Dun really blew me away. Really elegant food, found right in the heart of the country. It was a pleasant surprise, and I would come back in a heartbeat.

Not only is it a bubbling beauty, it tastes just as wonderful! This drink alone is an experience and such a fun way to start. For appetizers, I would highly highly recommend the Ahi Tuna Tartare and the Hamachi Crudo. Other wonderful starters are the Warm Bread Service and a sushi roll (we went with the Spicy Tuna). For dinner, recently, I had the Ahi Tuna and the Chilean Sea Bass. Both were wonderful, but my favorite was definitely the Sea Bass. It is so rich and delicious. Those I was with ordered the Sea Scallops (looked incredible), Filets (with different preparations - Maytag Blue Cheese Crust and Black Truffle Butter), and sides of Bacon Creamed Spinach and Jalapeño Au Gratin (all of which I heard were divine). The restaurant smelled and looked clean. Very nice decor and lighting ambience was nice. After being seated we waited about 15-20 for water. Shortly after the server approached with no introduction, simply asked if we wanted to get an appetizer started and drinks. He asked if we were celebrating any thing and we told him our anniversary. We ordered two appetizers to share, the Shrimp kisses are incredible, brought out by another server. We finished the appetizers and the dirty dishes sat in front of us for another 20 min while we waited. The manager ended up coming over and clearing the plates. My wife had asked for more bread, never got that but the next time we saw our waiter he cleared dishes from another party and put them on his old table, still dirt from the last guests. By now our water glasses were empty and the ice almost completely melted. Server comes by with my wife's salad and says, here you go, sorry about the wait, food will be right out. We think nothing about it but as we look up, the manager is bringing the entree. "Didn't want it to get cold" he says as he puts it down. So let's talk food, wife had the blackened halibut and was exceptional. All the veggies were delicious as well as my steak and lobster tail. Mashed potatoes were smooth with a few tasty lumps mixed in. Meal was very good. Server walked by in passing, asked if everything is tasting ok. "Very good " we replied and he pressed on, my coke nearly empty. As we finished he showed up again asking if we wanted desert but we were full. Next he asked if we were rewards members, I said no and he began his spiel. Told him I think we are ok, thanks, but continued about how it's only $27 and this meal will get me a free desert next time. "We are good my friend, thank you". This is the time where he realized he forgot it was our anniversary, he said "oh yea, weren't we celebrating tonight?" "We were", I said. Then he insisted on giving us a small desert, on him. We declined but again he insisted. Unfortunately it took another 20 min for it to come out. Small cup with chocolate cake, caramel, and heath bar with a scoop of ice cream. It was fabulous, too full but fabulous! Again, another log period for the check. Tragic that this meal and experience had to be tainted by this service. Here is the kicker, servers were constantly moving all around us checking on tables, delivering food, water and drinks. They never once looked to help any of our servers tables. The manager was kinda directing traffic as another waiter filled our water in the beginning after the long stent and again another brought out the appetizers. He had to step in to clear plate and bring food. The area we were seated in was not too busy, handled by several wait staff and yet still a delay. This 100% could have been avoided as other tables under our server had said something to the staff about the delays. I will say, I may return for another meal in this establishment due to its taste, but will not just sit back is service is terrible again. I thought about engaging the management or even walking out a few times however, it was my anniversary. I also don't like to treat people or establishments negatively as karma has a funny way of showing its face.
