Steak is well done and cold
Everett R.

This was my worst ever experience at the Kent pizza garden ever I have been here multiple times throughout the years and over the last few years the experience and food quality has progressively gotten worse as for the food I had requested steak frits medium rare and had gotten tire rubber well done and truffle fries without the truffle and a pile of garlic Parmesan right in the center as for the service the waiter came over 10 minutes after we had sat down we ordered our drinks and food at the same time but only the drinks ever arrived we had to ask a different waiter after an hour and apparently our food was pushed off also the waiter avoided eye contact as for the atmosphere. I understand that we're in an outside environment, but there were a lot of flies and the ceiling looked damaged. Also, the drinks were not the best. I recommend not to eat here ever unless you are prepared to wait almost 2 hours. they did comp ourfood, but it was not worth it to sit there for an hour and a half

Steak frites with truffle fries

My 4th time here at KPG, and it's always good. I love the truffle fries. And for dinner, I had the New York strip steak, medium-rare. It was cooked perfectly, paired with mashed potatoes with gravy and mixed vegetables. It was perfection! The gravy was rich and tasty, might be the best gravy I've ever had, and the vegetables were seasoned well and were not overcooked. We came in on a busy Saturday night but were seated promptly. The place was loud, the bar was full and had a fun vibe. Our server, Besian, was attentive and friendly!

Perfect Price

My husband and I came for what turned out to be an early dinner on Saturday. We were told we could pick our own table. Our waitress brought menu's right away and asked for our drink order. Luckily we were ordering diet sodas or we would have had no time to look at drink options. We both ordered the NY Strip because the price was fantastic. The steaks came with mashed potatoes, squash and zucchini. My plate had no veggies because I passed them onto my husband. I wish I had kept them in this instance. My husband had me taste and they were nicely seasoned and very good! When I ordered I requested gravy for my mashed potatoes. They got my order correct and my mashed potatoes came in with gravy. I could tell the mashed potatoes were real because of the few lumps. Those are fine to me the one sign they are not instant. My husband ordered his steak medium rare, and I ordered mine medium. My husband's streak had little pink. My steak had no pink at all that I saw. Both our steaks tasted really good. So they must have been just passed how we like them. If your looking for a good priced nice meal - KPG is the spot.

Shrimp Scampi

If you are in the area they have amazing pasta! I loved the shrimp scampi and the chicken parm. When they say big plate they mean big! Probably enough to split if you wanted but it was amazing! The outdoor seating g was nice and had a space to have social hour with corn hole or other activities!

Been going here since I was a kid. When they had a fish tank inside. The people who leave negative reviews are coming from their $50.00 a pizza hometowns in New York. This place has character and does a good job for our small town.

On the specials menu- fried smelt! Great presentation just a bland taste. Not bad though.
Tara M.

We loved it but the food was a little bland. Everything else was great though. A group of 4 of us came here and we had a great time. We sat outside and got service right away. We started off with drinks and apps. We ordered disco fries, wings and on the specials we ordered smelts. The disco fries and wings were so good but the smelts were just bland. For our food- three ordered burgers and an eggplant parm hero. They said their burgers were good and my hero was good also but just bland. It was on a plain hero roll (no garlic or sesame seeds) and the sauce and eggplant was very plain as well. I had to load it up with salt and pepper. All in all we loved the vibe, our server was very nice and the food was pretty good....7/10. I would go back!

Ordered some chicken parm, spaghetti and meatballs, linguini and clam sauce and a pulled pork sandwich for the family. Plenty of food and tasted good. Chicken park had a ton of mozzarella on it. A bit too much for me, but others may like that. A good amount of food for the price.

Not a favorite. My husband and I stopped for dinner, and he was sick the whole next day. Won't be back.

I'm back after about a year! The restaurant is located at 495 Hartford Rd in Manchester, CT. This…read moreis my first sports bar visit in quite some time. I remember they have really good food here. Chef Stash presiding! I see a list of specials too. For my first drink, I'm having a Manhattan. A Manhattan is a cocktail made with whiskey, sweet vermouth, and bitters. While rye is the traditional whiskey of choice, other commonly used whiskies include Canadian whisky, bourbon, blended whiskey, and Tennessee whiskey. The cocktail is usually stirred with ice then strained into a chilled cocktail glass and garnished traditionally with a maraschino cherry. A Manhattan may also be served in a champagne coupe or on the rocks in a lowball glass. I'm having Woodford Reserve for my bourbon. Look at this monster! This tastes perfect! It's well balanced, chilled and garnished with a black amarena cherry. The menu is physically pretty large too. The Happy Hour is from 3-7 Sunday through Thursday. The only item (off of the HH hour) I'm having is the House Salad made with salad greens, tomato, cucumber, croutons and red onions with balsamic dressing. This is great! The veggies are very fresh! I like the dressing! For my next item, I'm having the Louisiana Clam and Sausage. I've never had this before! Louisiana-style clam and sausage soup typically combines spicy andouille sausage, fresh or canned clams, and a rich Cajun- or Creole-seasoned broth with aromatics like bell peppers, onions, and celery. Oh my! Look at this! That's a LOT of bread! It comes with crackers too! This is delicious! That bread is the best! For my drink, I'm having a Shrimp Cocktail (3 jumbo shrimp instead of 6) with cocktail sauce. They accommodated me! That's awesome! I just want to taste it. With my cholesterol problems, 6 is just too many. For my next drink, I'm having a Godfather. The Godfather is a duo mixed drink made of Scotch whisky (especially smoky Scotch) and amaretto. Typically, the drink is served with ice in an old fashioned glass. This tastes just right! It is served in a martini glass! It's not as strong This is yummy! For my entree, I'm having the Chicken Stir Fry made with chicken and Asian vegetables over rice pilaf and teriyaki sauce. This is not your typical sports bar food! I wanted it extra spicy! I love the yellow banana pepper at the top! This is a lot is food! This is delicious! It's nice and spicy! I believe the cook used to eat spicier food than I did (in my prime)! OMG! The cook came out and gave me a boxful of hot peppers! He said they were from a $100K garden. There is no doubt in my mind! These are (heat wise) in between a jalapeno and a habanero. How did I get so lucky to be here tonight! I am blessed for sure! For dessert, I'm having a Chocolate Lava Cake. Molten chocolate cake or runny core cake, is a French dessert that consists of a chocolate cake with a liquid chocolate core. It is named for its molten center,[1] and it is also known as mi-cuit au chocolat, chocolat coulant ("flowing"), chocolate lava cake, chocolate fondant, or simply lava cake. It should not be confused with fondant au chocolat, a recipe that contains little flour, but much chocolate and butter, hence melting on the palate (but not on the plate). Wow! Will you look at this presentation! The center is wicked hot! This is delicious! For my last drink, I'm having a White Russian. A white Russian is a cocktail made with vodka, coffee liqueur (e.g. Kahlúa or Tia Maria) and cream served with ice in an old fashioned glass. Grey Goose for me. This is made just perfect! This bartender is the best! What a great meal here!

Parking: shared lot with lots of spaces…read more Decor: what you would expect for a sports bar though for lunch time the music was very loud Staff: friendly but not too attentive, watched the cook show the bartender someone was waiting for service when there were only 10 ppl at the bar Food: excellent, the prime rib cheddar melt...OMG!! Fresh and so tender...one of the best sandwiches I have had in months! Overall I am 100% going back for the food.

As an Elite Yelper, I really enjoyed our first visit to Kingsley Tavern…read more From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was welcoming. The side entrance leads to a cozy outdoor lounge with couches and string lights that immediately set the tone. We were greeted warmly, seated quickly, and our waitress was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. The food was excellent. The stuffed squash blossoms were absolutely delicious, I could have ordered another plate! I also had the meatloaf with veggies and mashed potatoes , which was flavorful and perfectly cooked. My husband ordered the Kingsley Burger and loved it. The only miss for me was the watermelon drink. It looked refreshing, but it tasted more like sparkling seltzer water than the fruity drink I was expecting. My only criticism is something I wish all restaurants would change: calculating suggested tip percentages after tax instead of before tax. It can make it seem like you're tipping less than you actually are. Overall, the food, service, and ambiance were wonderful, and we'd definitely come back. Worth the drive to Kent!

My first visit to Kingsley came this week during a two-day off-site business meeting in town. A…read morefriend who was a former employee had been urging me for years to try it, however, I'm typically only in Kent for lunch, and too anxious to get home when the tavern opens at 4pm. I am thrilled to have finally had the opportunity! The feel of the place is precisely what you would imagine in Kent. Traditional old-style dark wood, a sense of community, perfect decor to harken back to the days of stage coaches and taverns being the center of a town's social scene. Service was excellent. We never wanted for anything - but yet were not bombarded or crowded in the quaint dining room setting. The best and most important part of our meal was - well - the food. The menu is suitable for literally any dietary need without compromising their spin on elevated tavern/comfort food. Ample appetizers, interesting salads, tacos, meat/non-meat and even vegan options abound - all with terrific portion size and execution. Our entire group was pleased (and some are persnickety). Very much looking forward to returning and grateful they are in our great town.
