The total for two tires on 7/14

I went to cozy's to buy a pair of armadillo tires and to have them fitted to my bicycle rim so that I could later assemble it at home. I've been to cozy's once before and I received amazing service so I trusted them to uphold that same level of professionalism. When I walked in, my girlfriend and I were greeted with nothing but a look from both employees in the front before they completely ignored us. I asked the person at the desk where I could receive help from someone and all I got was a finger point to the back of the store. After asking another employee that was standing in the back, I finally found the person who would help me. I told him my issue and he said he'd take care of it. I left my name and number for them to call me when they were finished and I went to another store in the meantime. I never received a call. When I came back to the store and retrieved my bike I had to ask if he was done because he just stared at me without telling me anything. The clerk at the desk was incredibly rude and their exact dialogue was only saying my total and then "have a good day" no thank you, no other words in between that. And then when I got home one of the tires won't even hold air. No one wants to pull the race card so easily but I can't imagine they treat every customer that way. You lost a customer that day.

I needed to have the stem and front brake system adjusted on my bike that was shipped from the East Coast. I was greeted immediately upon arrival at the store and directed to the bicycle repair/workshop area! I was promptly waited on and given a receipt. I was told that my bicycle would be ready that day which is excellent service. I also inquired about taking my bicycle on the bus and the logistics about how to do it. The repair clerk Ivan suggested watching a video on-line about how to use the bicycle rack on the CTA web site (very helpful and good idea! Thanks!) Aside from the bicycle repair area there is an extensive variety of childrens, adolescent and adult bicycles for sale, helmets, socks and bicycle apparel, gatorate, sports snacks, mounting units, bicycle baskets, etc. Really great selection of goods! WHAT I LOVED-this is a family run business that has been in Chicago since the 1940s and everyone in the store-including the head manager makes sure that each patron is greeted and professionally attended to.

Quick turnaround service for fixing flats. Walk-in for service, and back out the door with a fixed tire within 10 minutes.

Syd helped me and showed me that I had actually just aired up the tire wrong and that everything was fine on my set up.

For my single speed and racing bikes always on time with good service and fair pricing. Nice selection and if you don't see it they have no problem ordering direct. Quality small local business. In response to the (mostly) positive reviews to this place, I trusted them to provide quality…read moreservice. My rating is due to bike service issues, not personnel. The workers were what you'd expect as far as being nice - but the mechanics are amateur at best. After my first disappointment with their routine "maintenance service", I wanted to give them another shot with my brakes. After all, I yearn to have a good relationship with a local bike shop. And sadly, it's a bigger disappointment than my first visit. I asked for them to bleed both brakes. I received a call saying they're "fine" and suggested NOT bleeding brakes; but the pads and rotors were caked in oil and other residue (I cleaned them both 3 days ago). But I figured you gotta trust the pros, right? Wrong. I figured they'd replace the pads, clean the rotors and call it a day. After all, I hadn't sanded the pads this past time and they are getting old (10 months). Nope, just VERY poorly sanded the existing brake pads, cleaned the rotor below my normal standard and was charged nearly $50. For that. To sand 4 little brake pads and (presumably) apply some rubbing alcohol to the rotors. $50. Look at the picture of the brake pads after they serviced them. Lmao. I could have done that for $2 at home since all I need is a little more rough sand paper. Ha. And no, it didn't help my brakes at all. They produced very little friction, we're extremely loud and there was even a clicking noise from my drivetrain on my ride home I haven't even diagnosed yet. I just had to write this review. Ha. Should have just told them to screw off and bleed the damn brakes. To me, it's simple. This is a classic big city bike shop that is money hungry. $50 for that is LAUGHABLE. I could take this to my hometown bike shop and for that money they'd do a bleed, drivetrain clean, fork pressurization, frame clean, etc. And after all that, I still need my brakes bled. They didn't do it. Ha. EDIT: Attached is the video of my new wheel sound! I think it's just the dork disk, but still.
