A working class restaurant with working class portions (large) for a working class town catering to loggers and famers along with passing tourists. I ordered the so-called bagel with egg, ham and American cheese; the lunch meat, egg and cheese overflowed the bun. My side was hash browns that left a cooking oil after-taste for a few hours. Walking into Kozy K, as locals call it is rather nostalgic to me. The food has always been great and the service was always with a smile and or a laugh. You felt like you were at Grandma's table and your family was taking care of you. The MP location is a newer spot that my family has started eating at. It's no different than the Coos Bay location. It's nice Kozy exists because Myrtle Point has very scarce limited options for hangouts for friends/family so it's great in that sense. The food was just "Meh, okay.." We were passing through from Bandon to Las Vegas and saw this little place with lots of cars in the parking lot. We ordered breakfast and my husband and I were very pleased. He had an omelette with lots of fresh mushrooms, spinach and tomatoes. I chose a cinnamon roll pancake platter with eggs and bacon. The bacon was so flavorful and those pancakes were yummy. I do not know if I caught them on a bad day, but this was the worst breakfast I ever had. I could not eat it. I did not know that you had to ask if you want your omelet over hard, meaning it was runny inside and no it was not moisture it was slimy. I then took a bite of the hashbrowns and was sort of crispy on the outside but on the inside was total mush. I did not get the guacamole on top like my husband did on his. The food here is good. I've got no complaints there. There is a room for video lottery here as well. But I warn you if you go in there be prepared to be treated like crap. Every time I gamble here the waitress is terrible to me. Even when I buy food. She acts like I'm a homeless person panhandling or something when really I'm spending more money than her average customers. I was barked at to ca sh out when they were closing. And then had to wait 10 minutes for her to cash my slip!! She simply ignored me. I waited patiently til she finally came to help me and told her how long I'd been waiting and she said she was busy. She wasn't. So I said OK I understand, but u could've said "be right with u" or something. She finally looked me in the eye and said "here's your money. I would give 3 1/2 stars if I could. This is a very decent place with a friendly staff. It's just a little overpriced for the quality of the food. This place is one of few breakfast places in Myrtle Point, and it's just average. I do like how they give you a whole pot of coffee. We will come back when we visit again next summer! read more

Wow! The portions are HUGE! We ordered a BLT and a bowl of soup(split pea) so good. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak so big it needs it own plate! Boy, they weren't kidding!3 people can eat from this dish. The gravey is great so is the rest of the breakfast! I love cinnamon rolls and these do not sissy. Not to much frosting! We got a carafe of coffee at our table. The staff was friendly, if you are looking for a fine dining experience, you will be disappointed. It is a Kozy diner and the decor is not pretentious. I'm leaving this review with full intentions of giving it another shot! My mother and I went in around 10 a.m today because A&W was not open. It was my first morning in Myrtle Point & I was so excited to try the "old fashioned country cooking". Well not to mention the customer service, (yes, I've worked in it from serving to sales) I would have been fired for acting as unbothered as she was. Never made eye contact, didn't greet us, chit-chatted with a lady at the bar area, neglected to take our order and didn't check on us once. Also there was only one other couple in there and we had to ask for our check three times. Now for the food, I ordered s ham and cheese omelet and it wasn't even cooked? After our grandson's first day of kindergarten he chose Kozy Kitchen for his "special lunch out". Um... I've never seen this particular location (North Bend) so dirty (it WAS lunchtime, but still...) and then the worst thing ever happened. You have to PICTURE this: A guy (appeared to be a kitchen employee) walked out and stood near the wall so he could see the customers. Shirt untucked, and wouldn't you know it? HANDS DOWN THE FRONT OF HIS PANTS! And yes... he did head back into the kitchen! What is it with some men? Even at work they have to do a "quick check" just to make sure everything is still where they left it! Then we were expected to go on eating... The other thing, so long as I'm on a roll here - this along with MOST restaurants have the nasty habit of allowing the same people who deliver your food, fix your drinks, and handle your napkin and utensils to also handle your MONEY. Isn't this the worst restaurant foopah ever??? When will they learn? Even kids know how DIRTY money is! I like this business and wish I had a better report. Oh - the food tasted fine. Went for lunch at Kozy Kitchen today, it was a slow experience to say the least. I sat down and scanned the menu, since I don't eat any meat I knew I would be getting some kind of cheese melt sandwich. I was surprised to see that they had a veggie melt so I decided on that. It took the waitress a few minutes to finally come over to me and ask what I wanted, along with the veggie melt I also got a fruit salad ( I wasn't really in the mood for fries). There was no lunch rush ( myself and 5 other ppl) so I still can't explain why it took 25- 30 minutes to get my food and another 5 minutes staring at my food siting on the counter for it to finally get to me. Don't get me wrong the veggie melt was surprisingly good, portions were average ( no huge sandwiches here ) and the fruit salad consisted of one grape,a few honey dews, and some cantaloupe ( again it's a diner what can I expect). They never refilled my water and never checked up on me to see if I needed anything. I probably will be going back just because there are so few places to eat in Myrtle Point I have no choice, but hot dawg could they be alittle more attentive! read more

Haven't been to Kozy Kitchen for years. We had lunch there the other day and were quite pleased. Our waitress was very friendly and did a great job checking to see if we needed anything. Our food came quickly and was hot. It is just good simple food, not fancy or gourmet, but perfect fare for a family meal. We will certainly go back. read more

This evening I had less than normal experience. I ordered breakfast as usual. The toast was burnt and I asked for toast that wasn't burnt. It appeared I got an attitude from the server. When I got my toast, I could hardly call it toast. The rest of the meal was good and I took home what I couldn't eat. I did order water but never got it. There isn't a lot in Myrtle Point so we thought we would try the Kozy Kitchen. They have a large menu including lots of breakfast items. Dinner items are around $10. My dinner sat in the pass for 5 minutes before my husband's meal was ready and when we were served meal was cold. I was not impressed by the quality of food. My husband had chicken fried steak and had to spit out grisle. I had the snapper and part way through the meal bit into something burnt and discusting which I had to spit out in my napkin. That quickly ended my meal. The best part of my meal was a store bought roll they provided. The service was also poor. When my husband requested country gravy instead of brown gravy it seemed to agrivate our waitress. When I requested the roll that came with my meal according to the menu the waitress argued with me. If I ever end up in Myrtle Point during meal time again I am going to try the A&W across the street. read more

We had breakfast two mornings at the Kozy Kitchen. (There isn't a lot of choice in Myrtle Point.) This restaurant doesn't believe in light-fare. They serve big portions and everything comes with some sort of carb or two. The breakfast food was good but the service varied depending on the waitress's mood. For heaven's sake, do not accidentally spill coffee and then ask for extra napkins to clean it up, if you are lucky, all you will get is the evil eyes. When we venture down to MP again in the future, we would definitely eat breakfast, and probably lunch too, there. I would only eat dinner there if I was in the mood for a sandwich. read more

Took my dad to breakfast here. Asked for extra crispy hashbrowns and got warm, white, raw potatoes. I never send things back but i asked if this was extra crispy and she said they were the crispest ones they have but she would go see if she could find some that were crisper!! I let her and she came back with something that looked cooked and said those were the crispest they could find!! This was the day before Easter the place had maybe 6 tables full. I didn't know that crispy hashbrowns involved a search. We also found a long hair cooked into the French toast. Unfortunate. Other than mentioned the service was adequate. read more

We stopped in today to have breakfast and found it to be very good! My husband had a huge burrito with eggs, sausage & hash browns with a green salsa on top... very tasty and filling! I had the French Toast , one egg and bacon for light eaters which was also very good and perfect for what I could eat! The service was great and fast. This is a quaint little town with a lot of regulars, which also made it fun! We were actually in this town to find out if it was the town my husband was actually born in.... and it was!!! Thanks for the good information from our waitress and the gentleman who lead us to go to the local library! By the way the hospital closed in the early 70's! read more

We first went to A&W but they were not quite ready and we were headed for Powers my daughter was Hungary so Kozy Kitchen was the choice. This regional chain has been closing stores and some of them for sale. That does mean poor quality, we sat at bar and had an attentive hostess. read more
