Everything was so so so delicious. We ordered take out before seeing a movie. We don't live in the area so we picked a spot based off reviews. There isn't any in-store seating, it's a super small spot with a counter to order. The woman working was so nice, welcoming and friendly. The food was all so fresh, very flavorful and delicious. We were missing the two tzitziki sauce we had paid to add on, but it was fine because everything was delicious. We were so glad we tried kous-kous and we will definitely be back. I support small businesses and decided to do take out from Kous-Kous last night. The interior is TINY. Three steps in and you're at the counter that separates the kitchen from the front of the space. I ordered the chicken shawarma plate. The chicken consisted of very small pieces of what I believe was thigh meat. There wasn't very much chicken in the dish and it wasn't as spicy as I thought it would be, but I am not too knowledgeable regarding Mediterranean cuisine. The chicken and rice were dry. Maybe there wasn't enough tahini on it. As another reviewer stated, there was also too much parsley. The Mediterranean salad consisted of cucumbers, onions and tomatoes. I would have liked this to have been on the side. I didn't realize that it was placed on top of the shawarma. The hummus and eggplant dip were excellent. The woman who waited on me honored my request for the pickles to be on the side. The interior of the restaurant was extremely warm at 5:00 PM. If you place a walk-in take out order, you may want to wait outside until your food is ready and then go inside to pay for it. read more

I've ordered from here many times and every time I'm blown away by how delicious it is. The kofta is my favorite, it's so tender and flavorful and is almost as good as my Egyptian mother makes it. Unfortunately nothing will ever beat her food, but this is a close second. The woman who I think runs the restaurant is efficient and very kind, and offered me a free mint lemonade on my second visit before it was on the menu! It was refreshing and you can tell it was made in house. The basmati rice is well seasoned and moist, the braised beef is melt in your mouth tender, and overall they do a great job! I recommend giving this place a try for authentic mediterranean food. read more

Second time here. I can't recall the first time, but that's probably because it wasn't memorable. This time I noticed that all the menu items say that they come with Tahini, and that the Platters come with Eggplant Dip. It's right there on the big board above the counter. Neither was included in my Kofta Platter order, and of course by the time you get home and discover that - it's too late to do anything about it. I did notice just now that the online ordering menu apparently doesn't list these as being included, but I ordered in person off the menu in the store. Still, the focal point of tonight's Platter was the rice -- it was dry to the point of being almost crunchy, either undercooked or hastily reheated, but not good either way. We got a take out today. Shawarma Wrap and Falafel . This is nothing like Mediterranean food. What they called shawarma is a roll up with hummus grilled, ( yes hot hummus! Grosse) there chicken and tabouleh salad, this wrap, which tastes weird . There is no garlic sauce no chilli no fries and the chicken seasoning isn't the same as usual. If you have had shawarma in Boston or any city, you know what I am talking about. It's said said you judge a place by its falafel. We got stone hard falafel, they were dry and cold. The pita is more standard not fresh... but honestly if heated, it turns out better cause this one stays soft longer. I think if I was eating-in, a fresh made, warm pita would be preferable. My husband got the chicken shawarma plater ... so it came on a bed of rice, with salad and hummus on the side. He added harissa (loved it. I found it a bit too tangy for me). Super duper good food and service. The owner answered the phone earlier than his opening time which was very nice of him. My food was done 7 minutes after opening. You can't get service like that anywhere anymore! I ordered the mix plate which included chicken and beef shawarma (topped with tahini), yellow rice, eggplant dip, a cucumber salad, 2 falafel and hummus. All for $12.75! The chicken was tender, the rice cooked to perfection, the hummus was creamy and the falafel was the best I've had to date! The cucumber salad was fresh and tasty (maybe a bit too much parsley) but delicious nonetheless. I had problems with the beef being too fatty. The actual meat was juicy but full of fat and was burnt on the ends. The eggplant dip was unique. I would expect it to come alongside a southern style dish as it had grill-like smoky BBQ flavors. It was interesting but I'd much rather see if I could swap that for another falafel. Those things were so full of flavor and just lovely to dip in the hummus. Cauliflower wrap was amazing as was the chicken kebob- it was very well seasoned and a generous portion. The falafel tasted freshly made and warm, but I didn't live the spices. I think this was my personal taste as my husband liked them. Sides if rice, salad, and eggplant were all delish. We picked it up and parking can be tough on the street (route 126) so keep that in mind if you are doing takeout instead if delivery. The fries are standard, but the green remoulade dipping sauce that I got with it was delicious - it tastes like a tangy, lite tartar sauce but it doesn't have any relish/pickle bits in it. Very smooth and works well as a dipping sauce for everything, not just the fries. Staff is always friendly and hard working. It's a small spot, so don't expect to dine in. It's designed for takeaway and deliveries, hence the terrible parking options available. This place beats Garlic n Lemons and Falafel king by a country mile. Highly recommend getting a pita first, as it's plenty for a single meal. Platters are large enough to share or have as 2 smaller meals. Price is affordable and worth it.
