When I finally got a break in the day to call her, I explained what our issue was and she knew right away what we were experiencing. She also had a recommendation that didn't require a visit. I was already nervous about any chemical solution to the problem because I have small children and a dog. I was very much interested in a "natural" solution. Minutes after the call, Jessica sent something to my inbox. I really appreciate her integrity and diligence. Three of the other companies we contacted wanted to charge us $200 to come out. They couldn't confirm safety of the solution nor could they guarantee effectiveness. Seemed like they just wanted to collect a check. I have attempted to contact the company several times since then to seek further assistance but my calls have gone unreturned. The ongoing nature of this infestation, compounded by the recent discovery of another dead rodent and a hole in a flour bag, suggests that the initial exclusion and sealing services were not performed effectively. As a customer who paid for both the initial service and a follow-up visit, I am disappointed by the lack of resolution and the company's failure to respond to my inquiries. So after years of listening to my husband say he'd treat our house for Chicago's worst inhabitants: carpenter ants, I put my foot down and demanded a professional pest service. --Lucky for the door-to-door ProActive salesman who happened to catch me in the front yard the next day! ;) I never ever sign up for services at my doorstep, but he caught me feeling vulnerable due to a poor night's sleep, waiting for another ant to crawl on me. I signed up and had a technician just a few days later. I've been using them for nearly two years now and I never see spiders or ants in the interior or wasp nests on the exterior. They come 4 times a year and will come out immediately if I spot pests. Sometimes they spray inside but they always spray a barrier around the outside.
