The place is pretty spacious and great for a group of friends/family. Update: We've now have been here multiple times and LOVE the ramen and fried rice! I was today years old when I had ramen for the first time. @kosukeramen didn't disappoint. To start I had a light, refreshing tofu salad, and spicy edamame. The edamame was so good, and packed with flavor. I also tried their popcorn chicken. It was hot, fresh, and seasoned well. Very yummy. As for the ramen, I had the tonkotsu cashu. The ramen itself was cooked nicely and to me it seemed like a very generous portion of ramen. The broth was okay, nothing special. I actually had them bring a side of the mild broth which I poured into my bowl and it made it infinitely better. The meat was bland and added nothing to the dish. I actually think it would have been better without the meat. For the most part, the food was good and I'd come back again. Service could use some work. We had to ask for water refills numerous times (mind you it's over 100° outside) and for our plates from appetizers to be cleared away. read more

First of all, I was so excited to see a good ramen place with 4 stars review in Ontario. Then it's quickly change direction when I got there and sat down. It was Wednesday lunch and there was only 1 table dining in. The service was nice, unfortunately it's pretty slow knowing the place was not busy at all at the time. I had the miso ramen and the tonkotsu ramen, as well as gyoza and egg fried rice. This place is way far beyond a Japanese ramen place, it's a Chinese noodle place with a twist of wannabe Japanese ramen. Tonkotsu and Miso Ramen: The broth is nothing like tonkotsu or miso broth. Tasted very chinese-y soup broth, not umami at all. The noodle is just par. Gyoza is nothing authentic, definitely a store bought. Egg Fried Rice is the one that I had at Chinese restaurant, Chinese style fried rice. Unfortunately, it's not the place when I'm craving authentic ramen with real umami tonkotsu or miso broth. read more

The service here is amazing! The employee went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed! He noticed one of our friends drop his ramen spoon, and before we even asked to have the spoon replaced, he already walked over and brought a new spoon! The food was decent, but we did not really enjoy the mayo inside the avocado rolls. The egg rolls were delicious! I ordered a vegetarian miso ramen for my main dish, and it was pretty good. I asked for fried garlic to add to my ramen, but the garlic was a bit too over fried and was not a very pleasant addition. Overall, the broth and veggies were good. The restaurant was pretty quiet, which was nice because it allowed my group to talk to each other without having to yell over any noise! It's painted and decorated but it's almost like the place is too big for the set up they have so it looks incomplete. I was looking forward to eating here but it was pretty disappointing. We got the tonkotsu ramen without black mushroom, the fried rice and the cucumber roll. Cucumber roll: NOT worth more than $3. Tiny portion, cucumber skin was not peeled, excessive mayonnaise, rice was stale, rice didn't have seasoning and the visual appeal was pretty bad as the wrap was coming apart. Ramen: very salty, no real tonkotsu flavor. The tonkotsu itself was a little dry but good since there wasn't much fat. The noodles were a good texture and it was a very good portion. The egg was cooked very good too! Fried rice: It all felt kind of stale. As a whole it was pretty good but if you focus on texture and flavor individually you start noticing it's not too good. Atmosphere was also a little off but not that big of an issue. Overall, it wasn't the best I've had and wasn't that impressed. I've passed by the Alhambra location many times and I always see a long line outside so I was soooo excited to see a location in the IE. When we arrived, it was empty inside. It made me a little nervous but a few other patrons came in right after we did. The restaurant it is super clean and quite large but half of it was closed off. Service was attentive and quick. I got the spicy ramen and it was so flavorful. I wish I was able to substitute my toppings tho because I wasn't a fan of the egg or bamboo shoots. Sometimes when you're in the mood for a certain food and you're not familiar with the area, you just Yelp it and go to the closest one. Fortunately Kosuke Ramen had a four star rating because if I didn't Yelp it and just walked up to it I probably would not have gone in. It's a good thing I don't usually judge the restaurant first by appearance. So we were craving some Ramen and when we walked in I was scared because there was no one else there, only a few tables were set up. Like the back half of the restaurant was bare, empty, just a vacant area. They had a sign grand opening, but they had Yelp photos two years old. It looked more like a grand closing, like we're close to going out of business. Anyway I looked at the menu prior to getting there and it looked promising. Their prices were very reasonable. So we ordered a chashu miso ramen and a chashu corn butter ramen. An appetizer of popcorn chicken and agedadhi tofu. The service was great, the food came out very quickly as far as the appetizers. I enjoyed the popcorn chicken. It was lightly breaded with decent sized bites of chicken. The dipping sauce was like a sriracha mayonnaise which had a kick. It took me a few bites to get used to the heat. As for the ramen, it was tasty. Good chew on the noodles and broth was not overly salty like most ramen places. I can't complain. I enjoyed the food. I appreciated the service and I left there full. What more can you ask for. My suggestion to the business owner is to make your restaurant appealing. This ramen spot is one of the best in the IE!!!! I've been to the Kosuke in Alhambra, and this one is just as good or even better. I got the Spicy Ramen (hot level), popcorn chicken, California Roll, Avocado Roll, and Edamame. The spicy ramen is was pretty hot but it was tolerable (I have a high spice tolerance). Popcorn chicken is phenomenal as always, good level of crunch and flavor. It pairs nicely with the spicy mayo. The California Roll and Avocado roll were very tasty too. I also had the fried Gyoza which had a lot of flavor and filling. The staff was very nice. Service was fast and great. Nice and spacious ramen spot. read more

I'm super happy there's a Kosuke in Ontario. I went to the Alhambra location every chance I got when I was craving ramen or curry when I was in the area. The food quality is the same as the original. I love the tonkotsu ramen and the chicken cutlet curry. They're delicious and super filling. I would recommend avoiding sushi unless you're really craving it. The sushi is just okay. Have been here two times already and it is just as good as the one in Alhambra. Also had it "to go" during the beginning of the pandemic, and it wasn't as great, but nothing really is after its been sitting in Styrofoam containers vs. eating it there at the establishment. Service isn't as great as Alhambra's, but that's probably because that sweet older lady isn't here, and both times I've dined in here, there has only been one kid working the whole place himself. He does a good job, but what I meant by service is that it takes longer for the food to come out, and you have to kinda hunt him down for a refill. I always go with the spicy ramen with the popcorn chicken, and like its sister restaurant, the chicken is always, crispy, crunchy and well executed. My broth, I couldn't ask for more. My only complaint is that I've ordered the fried garlic both times dining in, and both times, the garlic has been over fried. Both times, you could not only see that it was burnt, you could taste the burnt. Still not enough to keep me from coming back though! read more

I came here after shopping with my brother to try this newly opened place near the Ontario Mills mall. He chose to get the Tonkotsu popcorn chicken ramen ($9.25) with a side of a croquette ($1.50) which had potatoes on the inside and I got the Kuro ramen ($9.95) with a small bowl of kakiage don ($3) which is a vegetable tempura on top of a bowl of rice as a side. Both ramen came with red ginger, black mushroom, boiled egg, and green onions. The broth came steaming hot and was not salty. The noodles were thin and had a good bite, they weren't soft. The chashu in my ramen was tender and the popcorn chicken was crispy. We shared takoyaki ($4.95) and gyoza ($3.95); both were ok but they tasted fresh. $20 min to use credit card. I was excited to see Kosuke Ramen opening up in Ontario, right by the 10 Freeway close to Ontario Mills, but then I read my review for the Alhambra location and remembered feeling a little disappointed after my second visit. It's been several years since that last visit, and seeing all the positive feedback from the Inland Empire area (and the never ending lines at the Alhambra location), I decided to give them another try. They're still in their soft opening - although the banner states "grand opening soft opening". I suppose they're working out the kinks. This location's menu is a lot smaller and they don't serve curry or cold noodles; it's primarily ramen with some appetizers. Service was not the best. Possibly the workers are fairly new, but it took awhile before we were seated after several workers saw that we were waiting in the doorway. We also had to flag someone to help us take our order after sitting at the table for quite some time. I'm also not a fan of their credit card check-out system. They use a portable credit card machine where the worker stands next to you to process the card - you have to complete the tip option with someone looking over your shoulder, which obviously provides a little bit of pressure. Tip option starts at 15% and if you want to input your own amount, it's a bit of a hassle. I wanted to calculate the amount myself, but wasn't given the option. Popcorn chicken appetizer - it wasn't bad, and the price is very affordable for $4.95. They offer popcorn chicken as a meat option to ramen, which is different but if you're going to go with the chicken, I'd suggest getting it on the side so it doesn't get soggy. We went with a mild spiciness to the chicken, which was pretty spicy. Chicken pieces actually are whole bits of chicken with not too much batter, but the chicken was a little dry in my opinion. My friend enjoyed this though, so I think it's a matter of preference. I went with their Kuro Ramen for $9.95. Didn't want to order the same ramen as my friend and wasn't sure if my stomach could handle the fish flavor soup of the tonkotsu shoyu, so this was the best choice. I've had black sesame oil ramen broth before, and this one was on the lighter side. Came with half an egg, black mushrooms, green onion, ginger, and chashu. Noodles were the yellow ramen, which I don't usually prefer but they were chewy tasted alright. Broth was a miss though. After mixing in the black sesame, felt like the flavor was just so salty. There wasn't any sweetness from the tonkotsu that I craved. Chashu was alright - sliced thinly and didn't taste as great as other more authentic ramen shops. I also got a side of the spicy bamboo for $0.75 - it wasn't spicy at all and added a different flavor to the ramen, which I enjoyed. I do think that the bamboo came from a can though. My friend ordered the Tonkotsu ramen for $9.25 - pretty much the same ingredients as the Kuro except there's no black sesame oil. We both really liked the broth - it was really sweet and flavorful, definitely one of the better parts of the meal that night; however, my friend was not impressed with the chashu - he said there wasn't a "clean" flavoring to the meat and needed to be cooked a little more. The meat wasn't as rich and tender as other ramen places we enjoy, and seemed to taste more like the Chinese BBQ pork meats - dry and without flavor. Unfortunately he had a hard time downing the bowl of ramen. tl;dr - I hope they expand to offer curry dishes. The ramen was just okay for me (and a miss for my friend). Pricewise though, the dishes are very affordable and you can also add specific items to your ramen for a cheaper price, which I think is pretty great. Don't think I'll be returning anytime soon. read more
