5 out of 5 stars! I just stopped by Joy Cook Grill here in Ontario and had an awesome experience. Right off the bat, I noticed how incredibly clean the whole establishment was, which is always a huge plus for me. The customer service was top-notch too; the staff was super friendly, attentive, and welcoming from the moment we walked in. We didn't have to wait long at all because the food came out super quick and fresh. You can check out image.png to see our plates. The portions are very generous! The teriyaki chicken and crispy fried cutlets were absolutely delicious, and the side salad was fresh with a great dressing. If you are looking for a quick, tasty bite with great service, definitely give them a try. I will definitely be coming back especially since my gym is closed by! read more

My husband and I first came here in December 2025. Our dog was having dental surgery in the same plaza and while we were waiting , we walked here to have dinner. The interior is basic and they do have indoor seating. We were really impressed. We tried both the beef and chicken and ordered a crunch roll to share. Fast forward to today, we've eaten here 3-4 times now and every time has been excellent. My husband has been here one more time than me lol. The combo comes with soup and either a California roll or spicy tuna. Great to support a small family business. read more

I'm on my second visit, and this place never misses. Definitely superior to the majority of chains, such as Flame Broiler and Waba Grill. The food is always fresh and the staff is really friendly. The restaurant was also clean. I came here for the lunch special, which was a fantastic deal for less than $20. The beef and teriyaki chicken were delicious and not too sweet. The gyoza was well-fried, and the sushi was good. You can only choose between a California roll and a tuna roll, but I wish they had the crunch roll as an option. If you're looking for something quick and high in protein, you should definitely stop by this place. read more

Fresh bean sprouts, lettuce, pickled cucumbers, bulgogi, carrots, and an egg over easy. Topped with seasoned seaweed flakes, sesame seeds, and gochujang sauce for the flavor. Tasted homemade. I stumbled upon this place on yelp when I was looking for a place to eat and I am glad I found it. Tucked away in a plaza in Ontario, this is such a little hole in the wall in my opinion especially when it comes to teriyaki chicken. The workers here are so friendly and the main boss man is so accommodating as well. The food itself is delicious. The chicken is tender, the rice is soft, and the sauce is perfect. Food: We absolutely love the food here. The veggies are always cooked to perfection. The chicken is always good chicken. It is made to order so it may take a few minutes for the food to get done but it's worth the wait! Service: We've been here multiple times and each time we have gone here the service has been so great. They are so nice and patient! Answer all questions with respect! I am always looking for good bento boxes in the area and came across Joy Cook Grill. It was pretty easy to find and there was plenty of parking. Inside looked inviting and was very clean. It was my first time here, but I had an idea of what I wanted. I walked in and as I approached the front I greeted the older man at the register and he just stared at me. He was very to the point when taking my order which was great because I was on my lunch break, but it was really difficult to understand what he was saying because he had a mask on. He was asking if I wanted green onion on top and I just couldn't understand him. He had to point at the menu and I finally understood. I placed my order for the chicken and beef lunch bento box and that comes with a side salad, miso soup, 2 fried gyozas and I opted for the 4 piece spicy tuna roll. Price is a little up there, but you get a good amount of food. My order was ready in a decent amount of time and I took it to go. The food itself was very delicious! The chicken and beef were both fresh and made with good quality. I absolutely loved the dressing for the salad and the soup and gyozas were good too. The sushi was maybe my least favorite, but wasn't bad. I ultimately enjoyed everything I ate. I wish my interaction here had gone a little better, but I think that's just because the man's mask made hearing him difficult and he was prob smiling at me and I couldn't tell lol. I will for sure be back though and recommend coming here for some good teriyaki! read more

Really great flavor & portions! The service was quick, food came out hot and flavorful. They have a very organized method of providing the food and all utensils and sauces needed for to-go orders.. no worries that you won't get what you need. The insides clean and it was pretty quiet when I was there. read more

Wasn't in the mood to cook, I remember driving past and since my partner was in the area I asked her to stop and get a bento to go which was supposed to come with the beef/chicken and rice with sushi, salad, 2pcs fried dumpling, and soup. Thankfully my partner looked in the bag and called me which I then requested it should be a bento because we decided to share. Probably a bad idea, the fried dumpling was good, salad super small, soup typical and sushi not good at all - it was warmer than it should be. It's new (to me) in this S. Ontario shopping center near the on ramp from Vineyard Ave. to 60 Freeway. Grilled chicken is cooked to perfection & extra sauces is a treat. Wanted to try this place out as my daughter was craving Japanese type food tonight. Place was located in a normal strip mall and was well lit and clean inside. Menu isn't huge which is a good thing sometimes. I want to say that this is similar in style to flame broiler, but better. Portions for the plate dishes are a lot bigger and a lot more flavorful than other chain places. Our order was placed and the dishes were ready a little over five minutes can't beat that. I don't know what they used to marinade the beef in (what i ordered) but it was oh so good and you got a lot of it. I can see this place do well for takeout and for people wanting a quick lunch. Tried this spot for the first time and ordered the bulgogi fries--solid choice! The portion was good and definitely filling, perfect for sharing or even as a meal on its own. The bulgogi was flavorful and well-seasoned, and it paired really nicely with the toppings. Hidden in the plaza this little gem! They don't have a sign yet but it's right next to subway. HUGE parking lot so you don't have to worry about parking. I ordered the chicken and beef combo plate which came with salad, gyoza and my protein with rice! Im a big rice fan, so rice was sticky yet fluffy! Yum! Both the chicken and the beef were packed with flavor! When I do go next time though I'll be getting the beef combo next time! Service was excellent! All the employees were so sweet and nice! It makes me wanna go back because it's just that friendly to order and they care about what you want. Music selection is great not too loud. Seating area is clean and plenty of space to sit down! Came here at lunch by accident. Literally wasn't planning on it and just saw it and decided why not. Customer service was good. Prices were great especially for how much food you get! I saw that this place opened up recently near the 60 fwy and the Kaiser permanente hospital. I wanted to try their chicken and beef combo ($14.99) which comes with sides of salad and fried dumplings. The portions were filling and I had plenty of leftovers. The meat was tender and chopped finely. The sauce was not too salty. I also bought their 8 piece California roll ($7.99), very filling and the rice was not too mushy. They have outdoor seating and a good amount inside. This place is something else! I work down the street and am very glad Joy Cook Grill is in the neighborhood. The food is on another level. Cooked to order, and served hot! Great customer service. Have been three times now and the food never disappoints. Have had the Spicy Pork combo, Beef and Chicken Combo, and the Chicken Teriyaki Fries. Portion size is great. Plenty of delicious food.
