Food 4/5 I'd rate it a 4 because, while the food was good, the portion size felt small for the price compared to other local poke spots. I ordered the two-protein option with half white rice and half spring mix, and it ended up being the smallest serving I've received at any poke place. I was especially surprised by how little spring mix was included, it felt like a very minimal portion. That said, the poke itself was fresh and flavorful, and I had no issues with the taste or quality. Customer Service 5/5 Customer service was also great, very friendly and welcoming. Ambience 4/5 The interior has a casual, chain-style feel, than a cozy dine-in atmosphere. It is a small space but super clean. Cleanliness 5/5 I noticed the staff consistently wiping down the food station, which I appreciated. They were also careful not to use the same gloves for different tasks, changing them whenever they switched duties, something I always pay attention to. Their attention to detail stood out, even down to carefully weighing the protein portions. Wait Time 5/5 No wait time Cost 3/5 I did feel it was a bit pricey for the portion size, but that doesn't take away from the quality and flavor, it was very good. read more

I enjoyed this place the first time I tried it, so I decided to come back because I've been craving poke. And the reason I like this place is because they have a miniature bowl, which is enough for me to finish on my own. I got the build your own miniature bowl with light brown rice, salmon, crabmeat, edamame, and cucumbers. For my sauce, I got Ponzo lime, and garlic soy. I probably should have got more sauces because I just don't get the Ponzo lime and garlic flavor. For my toppings I got nori and masago. I like how they put a lot of masago. Idk if they forgot or I forgot to ask if I wanted to add the other toppings of furitake, crispy, garlic, crispy tempura, and sesame. Honestly, the imitation crab portion and avocado portion of the scoops that they provide really outweighs the amount of 1 scoop of portion of the protein that you choose for a miniature bowl. IMO I prefer to have at least 1 or 2 pieces of protein with each bite when eating. By the time I was done, there were a lot of rice, imitation, crab, and avocado left. I hope there can be an improvement on the portions they give. The service overall was pretty good. The guy that helped me was helpful when I ordered. I usually get my food to go, but this is a pretty chill place to sit down and enjoy your meal. read more

This is the best poke! We used to go to The Poke Place down by hobby lobby but this place is sooooo much better. The ingredients are so fresh and every time I come, the workers are so so nice. I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch from Skipjack today! I'd been wanting to try this place for a while, and when the boss said lunch was on him today--I knew exactly where to order! I ordered on DoorDash for delivery because I'm not wanting to brave these windy conditions! I ordered a regular Signature Skipjack which comes with tuna, edamame, and cilantro in their house sauce, along with imitation crab, seaweed salad, masago, green onions, ginger, and wasabi. It's also drizzled with eel sauce and spicy mayo and served on a bed of white rice. It was delicious and the regular size is a generous portion. Everything was fresh and very flavorful! Why is the miso soup $4.50 for the same pre-made machine that's in every poke restaurant? The scale measuring my already stingy portion of protein makes me feel a way. (I get the business perspective of standardizing things but as a consumer it makes me feel like you don't want to give me the most important part of the meal.) They're open early (10:30am) if your lunch needs to be early. There are definitely better poke places (& I'd imagine worse) but it's worth a try if you have no other healthy options. read more

I have been here 3 times so far. It's a relatively small place and especially at lunch time, the line can be long. But service has been pretty fast and friendly. I usually get the regular "build your own" bowl with 2 scoops of protein for $15.50 (16.70 after tax). The portion is generous and the ingredients/toppings are fresh. Whoa....what happened SKIPJACK?!? Our office has been coming here, once a week, since you opened (years ago),....and we have noticed a decline in both quality and quantity in the past few months. :( Yes, your prices have stayed steady, but don't think that we haven't noticed that your servings have shrunk.... talk about SHRINK'FLATION. one of my teammates got a 'regular-size' plate and as usual, I ordered my "large-sized" plate of salmon&tuna and her plate had the same amount of everything as mine! This has happened the past 3weeks and it has been very disappointing. To add to injury, last week, two of the girls got good poisoning/major diarrhea from the not-so-fresh tuna and salmon. And today (AGAIN) I could taste the fishy-ness of the tuna and salmon..... which is a bad indication of the lack of "freshness" in sushi. I'm just praying I don't get the runs too. :( What's going on, Skipjack?!? We used to love you dearly, but the past month has been a testament of your decline. :( we're so, sooooo sad. Please bring back the freshness, if not the large serving.....(we can blame shrinkflation for that) but at least continue to serve THE FRESH sushi!! I can't risk getting sick :( read more

Been coming here for a while now. I felt compelled to write a great review today because Ariana was just amazing! Not saying in the past they were not but I really appreciated the details and explanation of my order today from her. I felt she went the extra mile. I usually order the large poke bowl. Besides the great service their protein options are always fresh and delicious. Not only that but they measure the portions so I never feel "ripped" off like in other poke places. They also have so many topping options. All great fresh options. The restaurant and restroom are always clean when I've been there, they have sanitizer set up on the entrance/exit. My favorite poke spot in Rancho. Been coming here for years now and nothing compares. The rice and fish are always fresh. Great topping selection and reasonable prices. But what really stands out is their customer service. Every time I have been here they take their time, answer any questions I have and make friendly conversation. Fresh fish is here!! After coming to skipjack, I am too spoiled to go anywhere else. They are generous with portion size so you don't feel jipped on the price. I know a lot of places that try to up-charge for every little topping. Seriously good Poke. I had the mini Angry Tuna and it was sooo good. The eel sauce, the spicy tuna, and the generous and fresh avocado scoop, all heavenly. I'm pretty picky with Poke and raw fish in general but I was pleasantly surprised at how good this was. It's very casual and offers minimal seating but a great meal to pick up on the go and go enjoy somewhere scenic. The mini was so filling, I doubt I could ever eat a larger size but given how healthy it is, I won't deter anyone from going for the bigger portions. Staff was very friendly and generous with their portions. The fish is weighed but all other ingredients aren't, and they're very good about giving you a nice heap. The only downside is that I wish it were closer to me but I'll be venturing out there again just to have it. read more

While the quality of fish is great I'm sadden to say the last time i went here the girl helping me with my bowl gave me the least amount of fish I've ever gotten. I asked her to just scoop the fish directly on my plate as I'm not a fan of mixing eveything together and she told me she would still have to weigh out the fish which is okay but i only got like maybe 6 pieces of salmon .. for the amount i paid i feel i got ripped off it was all topping and rice :/ plz do better and don't be so stingy with the fish ! read more

Tried this place for the first time. Looking at the sizes, I opted for a mini bowl. I tend to stay away from uncooked food so I chose the shrimp as my protein and brown rice for my base. I added cucumber, carrots, crabmeat and pineapple. Overall, the bowl tasted fresh and filled me up. I was working in the area and ordered a poke bowl to go. I made my own bowl...My base was 1/2 salad and 1/2 rice and there was very little of both. I had 2 scoops of crab with salmon, tuna, edamame and cucumbers. I also ordered a few sauces on the side because I hate when they drench the food and that was not included. They threw soy sauce and Siracha packets in the bag. When I got there to pick up the order, the food was sitting out and not in the fridge keeping it cold as most places would do with fish. As I was leaving I noticed my drink was not in my bag either. I had to remind the worker and it was $4.74 for a small Perrier! The food was good, borderline ok, but for the high prices they're charging I would've expected a bit more. read more

This is the best quality poke in the area hands down. The fish didn't look or taste questionable at all, they weigh the fish for all you "they're jipping me" folks, and all of the add ins are super fresh and vibrant. When I visited, the store was very clean on the inside as well as the poke bar itself.
