Queens is fit for a Queen...hehehe! I truly love that queens isn't such a big attraction like Manhattan. Yes prices for living is still high due to the fact you are in New York simply but the sidewalks aren't filled with people at every turn. There are several small shops that have great food or even little items from people that are locals to Queens! Of course there are several subways and buses that you can use as a form of transportation. There is also the Uber and Lyft drivers in the area. Queens has taken me in and I really enjoy being apart of the community!! This is a community you can raise your family in! Not sure how good each school is in the area but the area is family oriented!

I was always going to the Target before the Target opened in East Harlem. Another favorite my daughter and I enjoyed is Georgia Diner. Old school meals for the hearty appetite. If we didn't go to the diner we were frequent customers at the Outback Steakhouse. Over time we became disenchanted with all the Outback locations and stopped going. Our current visits are to the Queens Center Mall. We have the feel of being in the burbs while having the subway ride like city kids. Besides they now have Cheesecake Factory and Olive Garden nearby. I can't say enough about the shopping in Queens. It's so much more pleasurable to me than the crowds and tourists in Manhattan. The stores are stocked in Queens. You don't get leftovers in a ransacked store like Manhattan Shopping. I have friends that live in Queens but never visited their homes. I'm sure they are beautiful. I do know getting to and from work is very time consuming for them. Especially if they are working in Manhattan. All I can say is I love this borough. I'm glad I live where I do but love to escape to Queens for the day!!

The staff was incredibly friendly and patient while we decided what to try. The chocolate cake was phenomenal (and I'm not even a big chocolate person). Moist, rich, and not overly sweet, this is now my husbands latest obsession. We also tried the sfogliatella and the bomboloni with crema pasticcera and pistachio -- both a solid 10/10. I even told my Italian father about it and now he's excited to come with me next time. So happy to support such a lovely family business!

However it also makes me a tough critic and I'm always looking for my new favorite. Tutto Calcio didn't take my top spot, but I still really enjoyed what I tried. The tiramisu exceeded my expectations. Nice coffee flavor and perfectly sweet. The rainbow cookies are a little irregular and on the cakier side whereas I like mine a little denser. I put them in the fridge and liked them more chilled! This bakery seemed like a favored local hangout. Service was casually paced but it's clear they know their customers and have a presence in the neighborhood. I'll be back to try some more desserts and maybe some savory food too!

One thing About this place I thought was odd, and I didn't like was that you couldn't get linguini or rigatoni as your side pasta. You had to pick either between spaghetti or penne. My husband and I split the pasta fagioli and my sister had the minestrone soup for our appetizers. WOW the pasta fagioli soup was FANTASTIC! It was one of the best pasta fagioli soups we both ever had! My sister loved the minestrone soup. For dinner we had the red snapper livornese, eggplant parm, and the fried shrimp & calamari. We all loved and raved how good our dinners were all night! The eggplant parm was one of the best we ever had as well! It was so lightly breaded it melted in your mouth. The livornese sauce to the red snapper tasted AMAZING, and fish was so Fresh! This place is no frills in appearance, but the Italian food is authentic and delicious! I highly recommend IL Nocello in Whitestone!

A huge plus is the paid parking lot around the corner with an exit onto 150th St, just a few doors down from the restaurant. Anyone familiar with the area knows street parking can be challenging , so that definitely made things easier. I came here to celebrate a dear friend's milestone birthday, and since she loves Italian food, this was her pick. We started by sharing the fried calamari, which was nicely fried and included both rings and tentacles. Neither of us eat the tentacles, so we pushed those aside. The calamari comes with a choice of mild, medium, or spicy tomato sauce -- we chose medium -- though honestly, I'm happy with just a squeeze of lemon on fried calamari. Each entrée comes with a choice of side dishes, and you can also upgrade both the pasta and sauce options. My friend ordered the Chicken Sorrentino, topped with prosciutto, eggplant, roasted peppers, and melted mozzarella over chicken cutlets. For her side, she upgraded to gnocchi and then upgraded again to Bolognese sauce. I had the Chicken Marsala, which was tender and juicy. Both dishes came with two thin cutlets each, but between the bread, garlic knots, and calamari, we only managed to eat one cutlet apiece and took the rest home. The Marsala sauce was flavorful and tasty. I personally would've loved more mushrooms, but overall it was still very good. I chose roasted potatoes on the side, and from the one bite I managed before getting too full, they were delicious. If you're in the neighborhood -- or even nearby -- this place is definitely worth trying. One thing to note: they only serve beer and wine, no full liquor bar. My Pinot Grigio was decent, and my friend enjoyed a light beer with her meal.

What I remember most vividly was their wonderful focaccia, baked in the restaurant's pizza oven. Unfortunately, since the restaurant's renovation, the pizza oven has been removed, and with it one of the things that made Villaggio memorable to me. Our meal got off to an awkward start when our entrées arrived before we had even finished our appetizers. Since the restaurant was not particularly crowded on a Saturday evening, the rushed pacing was surprising and took away from what should have been a more relaxed dining experience. As for the food itself, it was perfectly acceptable, but nothing stood out. In an area with no shortage of excellent Italian restaurants, Villaggio simply didn't distinguish itself from the competition. Perhaps our expectations were shaped by fond memories of visits years ago, but this meal left us underwhelmed. While there was nothing particularly wrong with the experience, there was also little that would encourage us to return when there are so many other Italian options nearby.
