I just purchased a 2020 SE sport Hybrid from Heather at Koons and Tom and it was the best experience in car buying I have ever had. I taught at Herndon HS from 2008-2016 and have sent many a customer to the dealership. Great place to buy a car or truck and said while I was there, the in Mustang is 4 in area car sales. Bought my 2010 mustang there myself. Rock on Sterling Koon's. Reviews can be changed after the beginning post. At finance it was pointed out that my finance rate could be lower Wednesday before my wife's signature on Saturday. After calling the dealership day and night to update the rate of the contract being with Ford Credit for 36 years my Finalized deal was 7.3 percent. A New Contract was Never Done Up.This is why the rating were dropped from 5-3. Great price, fair deal and a bad interest rate. I bought a Ford and a Acura TLX this week and noticed with all the personal in the dealerships no one wants to return phone calls. I am done with this area car buying for a while. Good luck after the election. read more

Not the greatest purchase experience. The salesman was great, but the car had multiple issues immediately after purchase, starting on day two of ownership. The car had multiple window issues as well as a small body panel piece that came "unglued" and was hanging off after only one week of ownership. That sure is interesting timing. The glue held the body panel piece in place just long enough for the car to be handed to the new owner.... I wouldn't do business with them again. read more

Took our Escape here for AC service. They estimated $6k+ bill for that plus many other services. I don't mind paying reasonable parts and labor for good quality repairs but these guys prices are about double what you can purchase yourself, even using OEM parts. To top it off, our service rep wasn't the least bit interested in discussing it, and when we asked to speak to the service manager, we were told he wasn't here and there is nobody else we can speak to. I'm still waiting for a callback too. There are many choices for service, we will go elsewhere. read more

I have bought and serviced several Ford Mustangs from Koons and had a positive experience from sales to service with a particular shout out to my Service Advisor, Nathan. He has been particularly helpful in servicing my special edition Mustang and helping me navigate warranty, service, and other issues common to sports cars. He is super responsive and even texts me personally AND responds. :-) And Nathan treats Bella the Bullitt with the utmost respect. read more

Well unfortunately I have to update my review to a not so good one. Less than 30 days of buying the car it has now been in the shop twice. Once for the shifter mechanism being broken and the car not fully engaging into park(scary right !) thankfully the warranty cover the parts and labor but doesn't take away the fact the car is "Blue ford certified " with that kinda issue. Second issue was the key was in a restricted mode and you needed the second key to unlock it well the second key that was provided with the car at the time of purchase was not working so back to the dealer it went only to find out BOTH keys needed to be reprogrammed. That is not covered under warranty. So we have had to take the car to and from our local dealer twice now, didn't have a vehicle for a week and had to come out of pocket 240.00 to have keys reprogrammed. Called koons managers and the sales rep who basically told me that two keys are not guaranteed so they can't guarantee they both work. But can't explain to me why they are able to sell a car with a key in restricted mode. Not offering to help in anyway. So unfortunately my great review listed below for transparency has to be updated because this whole situation shows that during the sales process they will treat you great but after you are nothing to them, I mean they got there money right..... so thanks for nothing Balil, Hamza and Ehab. You all have totally ruined the Koons name in my family's eyes as well as anyone who I speak to and will listen about the shady stuff you all are doing to hard working paying customers. Hands down the best experience at a dealership. Huge thank you to Bilal and Ehab for the great customer service and explanation of the process. You guys are the best! Thanks again to read more

I would give them 0 stars if I could. They sold me a brand new Maverick with manufacture defects and have done a horrible job with service and repairs. Seat belt leveler came broke, they didnt properly fix it so it broke again and they didnt fix the cosmetic damages I found when I got home-which they said they would take care of. Overall it has been a horrible experience. Besides wasting time at the dealership for every repair appointment, they do such a crappy job. Even their corporate customer service team was helpless. Now Im stuck with a truck I paid full price that has a bunch of manufacture defects. DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more

We had an outstanding experience working with R.C.! From the very beginning, he was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely focused on helping us find the right vehicle for our family. What really stood out was his communication--he kept us informed throughout the entire purchasing process and made everything feel smooth and stress-free. Even after we purchased the car, R.C. continued to go above and beyond. When we needed service, he stayed in contact, helped coordinate everything, and made sure our concerns were handled quickly and efficiently. We highly recommend asking for R.C. at Koons Ford in Sterling. We truly appreciated everything he did for us! -- The Streightiff Family read more

Do not buy a car here. And most definitely do not buy a car with Chris. Less then a week of having the vehicle the oil light comes on, I reach out to Chris to bring the car back to have a look by the mechanics. Chris gaslit me and said there was nothing wrong with it, it must just been a shortage and shortly blocked me after. In the long run (three months after having the vehicle) I ended up taking it to get an oil change and the valve cover gasket had a major leak. Also the day I picked up my car there was a bubble in the paint above the driver side door, Chris then gaslit me AGAIN by saying it was nothing and proceeded to rub the bubble out of the paint... five months later the paint started to flake off in huge pieces. Now I have three section of the car with major paint damage... and it been less than a year of having the vehicle. Save your self the time and do not go here. read more

Greg Williams is the man. Our salesman that went above and beyond. We will be back if decide to buy another mustang Mach e.

It's unfortunate that I have to write this, but I feel it's necessary to share my experience. Back in June, I had an oil change, tire rotation, and alignment done at Koons Sterling Ford. After that visit, I felt mistreated. The service manager, Mike, did refund my money--but only on the condition that I removed my negative review at the time. I agreed, hoping the issue was resolved. However, since that service, my car continued to shake and make noises. I took it to another shop and was clearly shown that I needed new shocks, struts, and tires which I just bought a year ago. There's no way these issues developed in just two months. A trusted mechanic--who previously worked for Ford--confirmed that these problems should have been identified during the alignment and tire rotation at Koons. Here are a few things to be aware of: Poor communication: If you ask for a callback, even after following up, don't expect one. Customer treatment: If they don't like you as a customer, they may blacklist you. Lack of thorough service: Don't expect a detailed report or heads-up about other issues with your vehicle. I strongly recommend going to a different Ford dealership. Koons Sterling Ford has lost my trust. read more

Everything. This has turned into the worst place ever. Pricing, customer service. Is less then a one. 1, or below.

This review goes out to the service department. I recently had a vehicle recall done on my high mileage '14 focus ST, which was free of charge and done by mobile mechanic Sachit. He completed the recall which was for an EVAP purge valve. However, after completion I turned on my car and all of a sudden my oil temp and pressure guages are reading zero. I begin to wonder if something is wrong with my oil pan or something, because I've owned my car for 4 years and nothing like this has happened. In addition, the check engine light doesn't go away. I call Sachit to mention these problems and he responds, "There's probably something else wrong with your car, it does have high mileage so that's probably why. If you want to get it fixed there's a diagnostic fee to get it looked at." I found this incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful, considering my car never had that problem before he put his hands in the engine bay. I look at the engine bay and find that two sensors were left disconnected. I call back AGAIN, and Sachit says "There was no need to disconnect any other sensors to get to the EVAP purge valve." So I guess I'M the one who disconnected those? Yeah, alright. Then I get a call from Steve who I believe is the service advisor. He tells me the same thing that Sachit said the second time around. After this experience I would never trust their service team to do anything on my car. I ended up reconnecting the sensor cables and my car wasn't throwing any codes afterwards, and the gauges worked perfectly like before. This experience felt like they tried making a quick buck out of a diagnostic fee. Unfortunately for them, not everyone is uneducated with cars. Don't trust them. read more

Overall the sales experience was positive but if you have a problem after you've bought a vehicle your calls seem to fall on deaf ears. It's now been 30 days and I have requested another temp tag which was supposed to be here on the 1st and is still yet to show up. Tag is dead after today. Repeated phone calls with no response. Another issue earlier fellow and deaf ears as well. read more

I purchased a Ford F150 at this dealership January 2022 and it's been a great truck. I did make the unfortunate mistake of purchasing a so called "bumper to bumer" warranty. It cost me approximately $5k. Today when my catalitic converter failed I was told it wasn't covered and would be $3300 for the repair. i was told at the Ford dealer in Richmond that there is no such thing as a "bubmper to bumper" warranty sold by Ford. I will never buy another Ford vehicle ever again. BUYER BEWARE! read more

I should've listened to the reviews, this place is full of sleazy salesmen and the manager encourages it all. This place has treated me so poorly from the moment I stepped in the door. I came in looking for a replacement after my car was totaled and the car salesman didn't even have the respect to ask me my name. When I told him my budget he almost didn't let me take a certain car for a test run, which is actually the car I ended up buying but it gets absolutely worse. There was a warning light on the dashboard and I was told that it was because of the tire pressure, comes to find out the wheel sensors were missing and I wasn't made aware. I saw a scratch on the car and asked the car salesman about it and he told me it was something that can just be 'wiped off', which was a lie! While coming back to get the tire sensors replaced after an hour of driving the salesman took it upon himself to drill holes in the front bumper of my car to put in a license plate without my permission. I now have damage to the front of the vehicle. I then asked to speak to the manager who told me to get plugs and color them with white out and stick it in my car. After asking them to do it they refused the service and instead brought it plugs that were poorly painted and didn't even fit the holes they drilled in my car. This is worthy of a lawsuit and I have definitely already spoken with my lawyer. read more

Came here a few months ago for an oil change. The person I spoke with on the phone mentioned it shouldn't take more than an hour, and it ended up being just over 3 hours until I got my car back, even when I had an appointment. Maybe it was understaffed or some techs called in sick last min but regardless that should be passed on to the customer with transparency. Additionally, the past two mornings, I've received calls and voicemails from Koons Sterling Ford mentioning that "its been a while" and to come back in for service. I don't appreciate being solicited to bring my car back in when it's not even ready for service yet and it feels a bit desperate for my money. Being underwhelmed already and not holding a high caliber of faith with their service department, I'll be taking my business elsewhere next time (mostly in spite of the warm-calls I've been receiving). read more

Wish I could give a lower score. A part of our driver seat fell off. Koons ordered the part and said it was NOT covered under warranty and it would be $300. My2021 Mach e had two recalls which I attempted to schedule with Sterling ford. Initially, they denied ability to address the recalls. I called ford and they spoke with the dealership so they agreed to add adhesive to the panoramic roof for leakage and replace the windshield. The dealership said no rental cars, ok. Even though Ford says it should be covered with a rental. So.. take the car ok and they forgot to schedule the window vendor for windshield replacement. Luckily they were able to get this done. I picked up my car today and there is debris on the dash, what looks like glue residue that won't come off and minor scratches and damage to the rubber gasket on the panoramic roof. They also left the car tag attached to the rear view morrow which they sealed into the windshield! I've been trying to contact them and they do NOT Respond!!! UPDATE: i attempted to call the number provided by the comment on this post and there was no answer. I assume this is an automated response and they do not care about their customers. I've attempted to call customer service multiple times and still have heard nothing. I am extremely disappointed with the service here. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever encountered. Tried to take my car in to get a new key. 1st time they kept me waiting at the scheduled time before advising me the only person who could do it was not at work. I did not have a favourable experience. I felt very strung along wit my sales person and the environment of the whole place made me feel weird. I felt very pressured the whole time. First let me start with on Thursday I call and make a appointment to get a oil change and tire rotation for 2:00. I asked all the questions to insure my car eulogies be fine. I don't have a Ford I have a Honda will this be ok? Yes they reply My car uses synthetic oil will this be ok. Yes I have a coupon for these services to get done for $39 is that going to be a issue she says no but with synthetic oil it would cost $30 more. I was fine with that. Made the appointment showed up. When I get to Ford the lady at the desk says oh I can't use that coupon I wish you would have called here because you called the call center- which is a 703 number I thought it was the location. Guess it wasn't. So she couldn't use the coupon even though the coupon says additional fee with synthetic oil and when you make an appointment that does not mean it's your turn that means you get put in a line so that they can work on your car after the first car. So don't think you will be in and out when you make a appointment that's not how that works either. So end result. They couldn't do the oil change tire rotation after telling me yes everything would be fine. I think they just thought they would get me there and I would just pay a arm and a leg for a oil change and tire rotation. read more

I give this service center 1 star. My wife and I bought a 2022 ford Explorer there in April 2023 with pre-paid service. We have owned three Fords and love these cars. I called three weeks ago to schedule service and requested a loaner vehicle and the service department advised a specialist would need to call me back to approve the loaner. Not only did nobody call me back, but when I called today to again attempt to schedule service and request a loaner, I was advised this time that they no longer provide loaner vehicles for anyone with a vehicle older than 2023. When I asked when this changed, I was told it changed when they were bought out by Asbury (sp?). What kind of business practice is this?
