I purchased the small box with eight drop cookies in it did the chocolate chunk strawberry cheesecake, strawberry lemonade, mango. I purchased them to take to my employees as a thank you and when I got back to my work, the chocolate chunk cookies were so hard you could not bite into them. One of them had no chocolate in it. The other ones were very dry. I was extremely embarrassed and had to throw all the cookies away. I paid $25.05. I had been told that this place was better than crumb cookies but not even close. We got a bunch of different flavors to try: Wildberry Pop - too sweet for me, the kids thought it was ok Appledoodle - okay Lumberjack - pretty tasty Salted Caramel - this was my favorite warmed up at home with homemade ice cream Pumpkin cheesecake - my kids didn't like that this one had nuts on top, it was pretty gooey but not bad Triple Chocolate Chunk - this was yummy warmed up at home with homemade ice cream as well! Overall, there are lots of options and you can get them all gluten free as well. I personally like this better than the kind of cookies that crumble apart when you're trying to eat them but I would say that most of them are too sweet. I would give them a zero if I could. I ordered cookies to be delivered for a friends birthday. They were supposed to be delivered on Friday. I checked and they weren't delivered. First time stopping in this place. Absolutely amazing cookies. The thick ones are closer to a desert sandwich as they are so big. I stopped in the day of the Knoxville Rossini festival and heard they also had a tent up there. The next day I was talking to someone who asked if I made it down to the festival which I never did. As an avid Crumbl fan.. Kooky is amazing!! They feature a rotating menu, and there is always a solid chocolate and non chocolate option which I love! The Oreo cheesecake and key lime pie stuffed cookies are TO DIE for, and the lemon drop cookie is still one of my all time favorite cookies ever! Even better, they can make any flavor gluten-free!!! A few family members have celiacs and knowing they prepare everything in a separate area with no cross-contamination is so refreshing. Finally, we can all enjoy yummy cookies. I believe they also cater to other allergies like dairy-free and nut-free, but don't quote me on that.. Lastly, the staff and location are great. We were greeted immediately with smiles and answers to all our questions, parking was right out front and plentiful, and it's easy to get in and out thanks to the red light in such a a busy part of town. The employee working that day was very nice and knowledgeable of the menu. I tried two drop cookies and a stuffed cookie. I will say the stuffed cookie was too rich for me, but my husband liked it. I thought the cookies were pretty sweet, but the advertised flavors come through. (For comparison, I would say the sweetness level is comparable to that of crumbl cookie). Love Kooky! It is a minority and woman-owned biz, which is the icing on the cake...errr...cookie. I have been here several times now and each trip brings many new monthly flavors, mixed in with some of the trusty reliables that they seem to keep on the menu (like the chocolate chunk, fruity pebbles to name a few). While all of the cookies (both drop cookies and layered/stuffed) have been great, the stars are the stuffed cookies. My absolute fave has been the Recess cookie, which is chocolate stuffed with peanut butter and topped with snickers chunks. My son, who was recently diagnosed as lactose intolerant, still has a wide variety of fun cookies to choose from. He was so very excited to try his Cinnamon Bun stuffed cookie, which was prepared with vegan ingredients in a separate workspace from the other cookies. Awesome! This is a small little shop located across the street from Costco. But don't let their size deter you - this bakery knows how to make kookies!!!!! They are on the expensive side, but they are also large enough to share. I cut them into slices like you would a pie. That way we all get to taste the different flavors. Also, sign up for their loyalty program and for texts. I received a text giving me 15% off....which was really nice! They also have several Gluten Free ones to try in delicious sounding flavors. Was visiting for work this week and had the pleasure of stumbling across them at a farmers market. Delighted to see they had unique vegan flavors... I got the strawberry lemonade and the mango passionfruit and both are out of this world. Lightly sweet with a tart super flavorful icing on top. The icing absolutely tasted like the description and I was more than pleasantly surprised. Oddly the prices they charge at the farmers market are slightly higher than what they advertise online so if you're a local go into the shop to pick up or place an order. But I am very happy to see that they ship for a flat fee of 10 bucks anywhere in the US... I hope to be able to order some and have them shipped to me back. Visited Kooky Cookies for some sweet treats today! My sister in law was on a strict dairy-free diet after having her baby, so she was always on the hunt for places that offered dairy-free options. She stumbled across Kooky's on Facebook. We went together and we both ordered a strawberry lemonade drop cookie which was sooo delicious! I got the opportunity to go back for my second time today, and I decided to try a handful of flavors! (My personal ratings are included in the pictures I posted). When comparing to Crumbl (which please note Crumbl is corporate with many locations) Kooky's cookies are smaller and priced slightly higher at $5.50 per stuffed cookie and $2.75 per drop cookie. At Crumbl you can split a $4.25 cookie 4 ways, but Kooky's is closer to a 2 way split for stuffed cookies and 1 serving for the drop cookies. Ham N Goody's lemon cookie is $0.99 cents and almost twice the size compared to Kooky's $2.75 strawberry lemonade cookie which is quite similar in taste. In addition to their dairy-free options, they also offer gluten free, nut free, soy free, vegan, etc! I'm sure their prices are due to the fact that they are a small business with one location and they cater to an allergy-free menu with all natural ingredients which is a major plus! I feel like these are the details that really set them apart from other competitors. The banana pudding cookie truly sent me to the moon!!! It was the last flavor I picked out because I wasn't sure how you could execute banana pudding in cookie form, but wow!! They have a lot of allergy friendly (vegan, dairy, egg, nut and gluten free) options and they are all wrapped individually. We tried 3 cookies to split amongst our family and it was $15, which seems kind of crazy. None of the cookies tasted fresh. Both of the stuffed cookies were very stale, and the allergen free cookie seemed like it came from the freezer bc it was super cold so who knows how old that one was. We shared a medium box among five people and we tried the quarter-pound: Oreo, coffee, s'mores, salted caramel, and then four of the smaller drop cookies: lemon, strawberry, chocolate chunk, and peanut butter choc chip. All fantastic. They all had a ton of flavor! We agreed lemon (right balance of tart and sweet) and coffee were our favorites. I also really liked Oreo because it had big Oreo flavor, unlike a lot of cookies and cream flavors that are just mildly Oreo-ish. Big fan of Kooky Cookies! This was our first stop while in town. I have been following Kooky on Instagram for about 6 months. We were greeted with a smile. The shop is SUPER clean and the menu is large and easy to read. I am now a regular here - their stuffed cookies are absolutely to die for! I'm lactose intolerant, but I normally just accept that I'm going to have problems when I eat any kind of desserts not made in my own kitchen. Butter, amiright? And the "gluten free" label really turned me off (the allergen free versions are all gluten free, and labels tell you which are also dairy free - so helpful!). I've never had anything with a GF label that satisfied as a "cookie" when what I wanted was a cookie. Not so at Kooky! I gave in the other day and opted for one of the allergen free versions - I think I had the Kooky Butter cookie. Amazing! I've had enough of these to know when something's off, and there was nothing off here! It really did taste just like the regular version! The only disappointment was that it wasn't warm because they're entirely prepped and baked in a separate part of the kitchen, so it came pre-wrapped. Still, thank you so much for this! I found out about this cookie shop about a year ago at the downtown farmer's market where I had an incredible key lime pie cookie. I don't usually like cookies very much, but they managed to capture the taste of a key lime pie perfectly. I was excited to go back, but I live in the old city, so I didn't find myself back out that way until recently. I went to the shop where I was told that the cookie selection rotates monthly and they no longer offer the key lime pie cookie. I personally really dislike the rotating cookie selection concept because instead of going more often to get the cookies I like, I have to instead go every few months when they might have the one I like back in stock. This is also makes it hard to plan an event where you could bring these cookies. Regardless, I chose another cookie since the one I wanted was no longer offered, and after I paid for the cookie, the employee informed me that it had just been removed from the freezer so it may take some time to thaw. Isn't part of the point of a rotating cookie selection to ensure fresh cookies are being offered every time? Also, why would they freeze the cookies after baking when cookie dough is so easy to freeze and bake with little to no affect on taste. It was very disappointing to hear that they freeze already baked cookies and then expect customers to pay $6 for each one. I will not be back again and I'd advise others to do the same unless they want old, cold cookies. read more
